description Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Article 2016 PolandPublisher:PAN IGiPZ Authors: Jasiulewicz, Michał;The aim of the study is to assess the use of biomass for energy purposes in Poland by 2020. The article presents the Polish achievements in the implementation of renewable energy sources (RES). The use of local biomass should aim at increasing the local and regional competitiveness based on endogenous capital – the biomass. Total production of electricity from biomass was presented. An important issue is the possibility of using agricultural biomass for energy purposes, both in the production of liquid biofuels (bioethanol, biodiesel) as well as solid biomass, i.e. forest material and established plantations on agricultural land (willow, poplar, Miscantusa), as well as production of biogas in biogas plants. Particularly noteworthy is the use of all waste and side products from agriculture (manure, straw, waste wood from orchards). The use of biomass energy should aim to create a system of distributed energy, which would complement national energy system. Small power plants operating in the CHP system are expected to be based on modern, high-efficiency cogeneration technologies. ; Celem opracowania jest ocena wykorzystania biomasy do celów energetycznych w Polsce do 2020 r. W artykule przedstawiono dotychczasowe osiągnięcia Polski w realizacji wykorzystania odnawialnych źródeł energii (OZE). Wykorzystanie lokalnej biomasy powinno zmierzać do podnoszenia konkurencyjności lokalneji regionalnej w oparciu o endogeniczny kapitał – biomasę. Wykorzystanie ...

Its share in the use of renewable energy exceeds 98%. Biomassis considered to be better for the environment than burning fossil fuels, as the content of harmful elements in the biomassis lower, and the formation of the combustion of carbon dioxide is reduced by the recentabsorption of himgrowing plants. Currently, more and more often next perennial, are implemented on a one-year cycle of the speciesset, such as grass. The advantage of one-crop species is the possibility to maintain propercrop rotation, easier to adapt tomarket condition sand the use of their machinery, equipment and buildings, while the downside, lower than the energy efficiency compared to perennial crops. This article is a synthesis of data on the energy value of 17 different plants and especially many species belonging to the grass. ; Energia biomasy jest obecnie najważniejszym i najmniej kapitałochłonnym źródłem energii odnawialnej (OZE). Jej udział w strukturze wykorzystania OZE przekracza 98%. Niniejszy artykuł stanowi syntezę danych dotyczących wartości energetycznej 17 różnych roślin, a zwłaszcza wielu gatunków należących do traw.

Main purpose of this study was to test if community structure parameters of carabids indicate the stress intensity of heavy metal contamination in the soil of temperate forests. Three geographic regions in Europe differing in both degree of accumulation of heavy metals and its quality were chosen. In Olkusz (southern Poland) the main stressor was zinc, in Głogów (western Poland) – copper and in Clydach (Wales, UK) – nickel. We found strong division between assemblages from contaminated and reference sites (fig. 2). Indicator species from pollution preferring areas in one region can avoid polluted sites in the other region (tab. 2). Species preferring contaminated soils were significantly smaller than those that avoid such ecosystems (F=5.46, p<0.05). Generalized linear model indicated that species richness and biomass decreased in each stressor gradient of contaminated forests. Mean individual biomass and mean abundance of assemblages were significantly lower along zinc gradient only. Species with broader ecological range replace habitat specialists as a response to resource unpredictability. Decreased species richness and biomass in polluted forests indicate degradation of habitat resources and forest ecosystem functioning. Sylwan 159 (11): 905-911

W ostatnim etapie przeprowadzono serię reakcji HDO modelowych związków chemicznych z zastosowaniem zsyntetyzowanych katalizatorów w zmiennych warunkach eksperymentalnych (T=90-130°C, p=25-60 bar). Wyniki badań przeprowadzonych w ramach niniejszej rozprawy doktorskiej dowodzą, iż zastosowane katalizatory pozwalają na uzyskanie związków chemicznych o znacznym stopniu odtlenienia i uwodornienia. ; Hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) is an effective method for decreasing the O/H atomic ratio and increasing the H/C atomic ratio in chemical compounds in biomass, so it is the process employed in biofuels production. The main aim of the doctoral studies reported in the doctoral dissertation was to perform HDO process of the chemical compounds forming as a result of biomass processing, with the use of heterogeneous catalysts made of mesoporous silicas modified with transition metals. The study was realized in four stages. The first was devoted to the synthesis of mesoporous silicas of MCM-41, SBA-15 and SBA-16 types followed by their ...

The article attempted to assess the Polish legislation relating to the use of energy from renewable sources, especially as it relates to the development of renewable energy in the light of the documents imposed on Poland by the EU. It is worth noting that Poland has a very large potential for the development of renewable sources of energy, but it is little used. Forecasts carried out by various research institutes show that the greatest potential for energy had biomass and biogas, as well as wind energy. It is worth noting, that Poland has committed itself to the European Union to increase production from renewable sources by 2020, by signing the package “3x20%”. We are also committed to reduce harmful emissions of air pollution and cooperate for the protection of the environment. These activities are supported by the Renewable Energy Sources Act, which entered into force in 2015. Unfortunately this document turned out to be quite unfriendly to investors. It imposes many obligations, and potential benefits associated with the production of energy from renewable sources are imprecise and described in an obscure way. Providing a 15% share of RES in gross final energy consumption in 2020 is possible, but only if Polish government will support entrepreneurs and provide them all necessary instruments so that they can safely invest and grow their business.

Organizacje międzynarodowe, rządy, samorządy, religie, społeczności lokalne, organizacje pozarządowe, a nawet poszczególne osoby szukają odpowiedzi na wyzwania, przed jakimi przyszło stanąć ludzkiej cywilizacji. Konferencja ta stanowiła swoistą platformę wymiany myśli i doświadczeń przedstawicieli różnych dziedzin wiedzy, przedstawicieli administracji rządowej i samorządowej, przedstawicieli parków narodowych i rezerwatów przyrody oraz organizacji ekologicznych...
