-- ENG -- After decades of technological advances and price reductions, solar energy can compete in the marketplace with fossil fuels in many regions of the world. However, the sun is a long way from being a main energy source. Numerous research centers and companies are working to improve the efficiency of solar panels, increase their useful life and produce new materials. Some governments have gambled economically and established regulatory frameworks to support such innovations. Civil society must also have a central role. As activist movements often state, "the energy revolution in the hands of the citizens is the way." ‘GenerationSolar’ is a citizen science initiative, framed in the European GRECO project, with two main objectives: a) to empower citizens through actions that promote a deeper understanding of solar energy, its research and its uses; and b) to establish a platform in which citizens themselves actively participate in the investigation. Citizen science represents a field of action between multiple disciplines, although it has been from the scientific, medical and environmental communication sector where it has been most active. For decades, attempts have been made to improve the balance between one-way communication (the one who knows teches the one who does not) and the most innovative forms of communication based on participation and collaboration for action. GRECO brought together researchers, communicators and citizens - through surveys, an online hackathon and computer development - to launch GenerationSolar on Earth Day 2020: a mobile application in which citizens register their facilities and create a database on global solar production. Two months after launch, the app has 71 records and more than 22 MW of reported energy.

Abstract: Introduction: The industrialisation and modern technification of our society has favoured the genesis of global problems. Physical Education Didactics is facing serious problems of sustainability. There are increasingly strong tendencies that preach a Physical Education that makes motor behaviour sustainable, favouring learning, procedures, evaluations, materials and resources that facilitate sustainable behaviour and a balanced and healthy life. We present a systematic review of educational experiences in sustainable physical activity programmes. Aim: To obtain scientific evidence on sustainable physical education didactics for children and adolescents during the present decade, to compare studies that relate physical education to sustainable practices and to determine research efforts to develop sustainable physical education patterns in schoolchildren and adolescents. Methods: The search descriptors used were: physical activity, childhood, youth, environment and sustainability. Records were limited to those published in English, French and Spanish between January 2010 and December 2020. 11 studies fulfilled the review requirements: 5 considered sustainability in relation to healthy habits, 4 studied sustainable Physical Education programmes and 2 assessed nature protection activities. Results & discussion: with the selected articles we appreciate that it is necessary to develop a new didactics together with a new sustainable physical education, but also a sustainable sport eminently respectful with the person, with their limits, that does not take unnecessary risks and that carries out daily practices with the aim of restoring the damage caused, of care, of rest, so that the athlete, who demands so much and so much from their body, learns to look after it and give it everything it needs to be able to live in a peaceful, happy and healthy way. Conclusions: In the last decade there are not enough studies on sustainability of physical activity in youth and childhood. There is a lack of studies on responsible, tolerant physical activity and on the role of women in youth and childhood.

Serrano de la Cruz Santos-Olmo, Manuel Antonio in OpenAIREThis paper proposes a conceptual and applied analysis of the protection of periurban natural spaces, recognised as Periurban Parks in Europe and in some regions of Spain. These areas have been scarcely studied and valued in Castilla-La Mancha, and a first approach to the identification and regional characterisation of these territories is proposed with the intention of evaluating the protectionist options in the face of the threats posed by their proximity to the urban nucleus and the intense public use to which they are subjected. The methodology, applied for the recognition and inventory of the main periurban natural spaces in cities of Castilla-La Mancha with more than 15,000 inhabitants, combines the investigation and analysis of bibliographic, cartographic and electronic sources, especially focusing on the consultation of municipal information on green areas, which have been finally contrasted by means of field work. The results propose a preliminary list of regional periurban natural spaces, with particular attention to the province of Ciudad Real. It concludes by confirming the threats and deterioration, as well as the lack of protection in the regional environmental legislation of the landscapes of this type of area and emphasising the need to create the figure of Periurban Park within the Network of Protected Areas of Castilla-La Mancha.

Abstract Mexican food is made with various natural products. The objective of the present work was to make a reflection on the natural components used to prepare the typical Mexican food and to make known which of them contain compounds with antimicrobial capacity. It was noticed that many of the natural ingredients of the typical Mexican food have compounds with inhibitory capacity against different types of bacteria. Garlic is one of the components of Mexican food that has been extensively studied, finding that it contains several antimicrobial substances. Other natural products such as epazote are less well known and their inhibitory components have not yet been described. The typical Mexican food could be a source of high value for the acquisition of inhibitory molecules against microorganisms and thus effectively prevent the individual consumer against microbial infections, and according to current knowledge it could also be a source of beneficial microorganisms that maintain healthy microbiome.

Climate change international regime has been designed as a flexible and dynamic system that needs to be developed by State Parties continued negotiations. The Kyoto Protocol first period of implementation finishes in 2012, and it is necessary to create new instruments in order to define international climate action for the subsequence periods. The Conference of the Parties at its fifteenth session and the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol at its fifth session were designed as the scene to sign a new international agreement. Previous and intense negotiations were developed with clearly confronted State positions. The analysis of this negotiation process, that finished with two intense weeks in Copenhagen, shows the absolutely diverse national situations and interests. This process explains limited results achieved in the United Nations Climate Change Conference, a meeting that should have been an important step to define the future of the international action to limit greenhouse gas emissions.
