With the increase in energy of the Large Hadron Collider to a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV for Run 2, events with dense environments, such as in the cores of high-energy jets, became a focus for new physics searches as well as measurements of the Standard Model. These environments are characterized by charged-particle separations of the order of the tracking detectors sensor granularity. Basic track quantities are compared between 3.2 fb$^{-1}$ of data collected by the ATLAS experiment and simulation of proton-proton collisions producing high-transverse-momentum jets at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The impact of charged-particle separations and multiplicities on the track reconstruction performance is discussed. The efficiency in the cores of jets with transverse momenta between 200 GeV and 1600 GeV is quantified using a novel, data-driven, method. The method uses the energy loss, dE/dx, to identify pixel clusters originating from two charged particles. Of the charged particles creating these clusters, the measured fraction that fail to be reconstructed is $0.061 \pm 0.006 \textrm{(stat.)} \pm 0.014 \textrm{(syst.)}$ and $0.093 \pm 0.017 \textrm{(stat.)}\pm 0.021 \textrm{(syst.)}$ for jet transverse momenta of 200-400 GeV and 1400-1600 GeV, respectively. Taking into account these environmental impacts, agriculture today aims at a more sustainable way of producing that would reconcile its economic and ecological functions. A new approach based on bio-economic modeling has been recently developed to explore different facets of such reconciliation and to understand how to promote sustainable agricultural public policies. In this paper, we review the contributions of such approach. The review shows that it is possible to reconcile agriculture and biodiversity with public policies, since it is possible to increase simultaneously the economic and ecological performances of agricultural landscapes compared to the current trends. However, it is not possible to optimize this reconciliation: The different criteria cannot be maximized simultaneously, and some trade-offs emerge between economic and ecological criteria in optimality. To go further, some bio-economic studies open new perspectives. For example, they suggest studying the society as a whole instead of focusing on the agricultural sector or going beyond the concept of optimality by stressing the idea of viability. In addition to reforming the current agricultural policies, deeper debates on the notion of sustainability have to be held. International audience

We have measure soot mass by means of Laser Induced Incandescence (LII, Artium Inc.), particle number was measured using a Pegasor Particle Sensor type M (PPS-M, Pegasor Oy.) and a Condensation Particle Counter (CPC, Grimm GmbH.). Finally, particle size distribution was measured using a Scanning Mobility Particle Sizer (SMPS) using either a CPC or a Faraday Cup Electrometer as detector (Grimm GmbH). For each fuel, we have studied different engine regimes. Including some of the regimes included in the LTO-cycle, but also some additional regimes such like a cruise regime.

We have synthesized different π-conjugated system-fullerene dyads for photovoltaic applications, where the donor units were either oligophenylenevinylene (OPV) or oligophenyleneethynylene (OPE) derivatives and for the acceptor, C60 or Y3N@C80 was used. There was an additional requirement for our materials: liquid crystallinity. All the donor units contained a mesogenic promoter in order to induce mesomorphism in the D-A dyad and to control the morphology of the prepared film through supramolecular organization. Apart from that, we investigated the effect of the chemical nature of the donor moiety (ie. lyophilic or amphiphilic), the oligomeric length and multiaddition on the photophysical properties and on the self-assembly. We have synthesized an OPE-Y3N@C80 dyad which is the first trimetallic nitride template endohedral metallofullerene derivative with mesomorphic and photoactive properties.

The project complements supporting actions and networking activities with practical challenges to test and improve the procedures and methods for identifying observation data gaps, and to ensure viability in real world scenarios. We present a challenge on future concepts for building a data sharing portal for the solar energy industry as well as the state of the art in the domain. Decision makers and project developers of solar power plants have identified the Surface Solar Irradiance (SSI) and its components as an important factor for their business development. SSI observations are crucial in the process of selecting suitable locations for building new plants. Since in-situ pyranometric stations form a sparse network, the search for locations starts with global satellite data and is followed by the deployment of in-situ sensors in selected areas for at least one year. To form a convincing picture, answers must be sought in the conjunction of these EO systems, and although companies collecting SSI observations are willing to share this information, the means to exchange in-situ measurements across companies and between stakeholders in the market are still missing. We present a solution for interoperable exchange of SSI data comprising in-situ time-series observations as well as sensor descriptions based on practical experiences from other domains. More concretely, we will apply concepts and implementations of the Sensor Web Enablement (SWE) framework of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). The work is based on an existing spatial data infrastructure (SDI), which currently comprises metadata, maps and coverage data, but no in-situ observations yet. This catalogue is already registered in the GEOSS Common Infrastructure (GCI). We describe the challenges and approach to introduce a suite of standards and best practices into the GEO Energy Societal Benefit Area for solar radiation measurements. Challenges range from spatio-temporal coverage across different scales and data quality to intellectual property rights and existing terminology. The approach includes means to share observations based on standardized data and metadata models and a user-friendly data exploration/management tool. The possibility to access and share data considerably improves the information base for strategic planning and control of new solar power resources. The platform will be integrated as a new component into the Webservice-Energy.org GEOSS Community Portal dedicated to Energy and Environment. The ability to provide users with visualisation and download features for in-situ measurements is seen as a key aspect to start engaging the energy community to share, release and integrate more in-situ measurements. This will put to the test the capacity of cooperation in the SSI community by introducing an unprecedented level of collaboration and eventually help to detect gaps in European earth observation networks. The presentation will be an opportunity to seek further collaboration partners and feedback by the community. International audience

But there is a need to reduce the high initial costs for setting up and the maintenance costs. The maintenance cost may be lowered through the use of condition monitoring (CM) and structural health monitoring (SHM). SHM allows early detection of damage and allows maintenance planning which reduces the cost. In this paper, change in Neutral Axis (NA) position is proposed as a metric for damage detection. A discrete Kalman filter (KF) is employed for the estimation of the NA in the presence of measurement noise from the strain sensors. The KF allows data fusion from the strain sensors and the yaw mechanism for the accurate estimation of the NA. Any change in the NA position may be used as an indicator for the presence and location of the damage. The study has been carried out on the simulated FE model of the wind turbine tower and indicates that NA tracking based on data fusion is sensitive to damage and robust enough to overcome the effects of measurement noise, and yawing of the nacelle.

In this test, we have studied 4 different fuels, including standard JetA-1, Alcohol to Jet (AtJ), AtJ/JetA-1 blends and desulfurized JetA-1. We have measured CO2 and SO2 concentrations. CO2 was used as well to calculate the dilution done along the line.
