The main focus in this thesis has been to examine different housing companies rental policy in Stockholm and to review how easily it is to maintain relevant information regarding the leasing process through the companies websites. We want to see if there is any difference between how the housing companies convey their demands and how this affects the person looking for a rental apartment. Furthermore, we want to see how everything above affect the society, especially students. Is there any difference between municipal housing companies and private housing companies in Stockholm? We analysed 13 websites belonging to different housing companies to find answers to our questions. The housing companies involved in the study are: HSB, Ikano Bostad, Wallenstam, Byggvesta, Rikshem, Willhem, HEBA Fastigheter AB, Svenska Bostäder, Stockholmshem, Familjebostäder, Micasa Fastigheter, Stadsholmen and Stockholms Studentbostäder. We studied how the different companies have decided to form their respective rental policy and how easy it is to find relevant information as an applicant. A comparison between the companies became possible with the gained information, the comparison gave us a clear picture of some recommended improvements within the field. It turned out to be a significant difference between the municipal rental companies and the private rental companies, where the private rental companies control their rental policies more strictly than the municipal rental companies. All of the housing companies’ websites were more or less weak in terms of availability and language possibilities. In the study we also covered the perspective of sustainability consider its significance for a further functioning society. In conclusion we provided recommendations for the housing companies in order to improve their rental policies and their websites. In our opinion should most effort be put on improving the opportunities for all individuals on the housing market to receive a residence. The housing companies’ websites should be improved with regard to transparency and language possibilities, to develop the housing market from a social and technologic perspective.

Production of biogas also generates carbon dioxide, but of biogenic origin. The global, yearly emissions of greenhouse gases are regularly increasing, although agreements such as the Paris Agreement is signed by parties globally. Sweden has the goal to reach net-zero emissions by 2045, and thereafter to only obtain negative emission levels. To reach these goals the biogenic version of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) called Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS) is considered to be an essential strategy. Using carbon dioxide, through Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU), in for example products, can complement BECCS since the strategy can increase the value of carbon dioxide. These strategies make it possible to reduce the climate impact of biogas production. This master thesis aimed to chart different techniques in CCS and CCU to examine how they can be used to utilize or store carbon dioxide from biogas plants. What technical demands different solutions create was explored. The different techniques were assessed through a multi criteria analysis by a technological, environmental, marketable and economical standpoint to investigate which ones were the most suitable for a specific, studied case – Tekniska verken’s biogas plant. One suitable technique within CCU was analyzed through a screening of actors in the region. An environmental assessment of one technique in CCS and one in CCU were compared with the reference case Business as usual, to explore how a simulated biogas plant’s climate impact can change through the implementation of CCS and CCU. The charting of literature gave findings of 42 different techniques, which were sifted down to 7; algae farming for wastewater treatment, BECCS in saltwater aquifers, carbon dioxide curing of concrete, bulk solutions, production of methanol, production of methane through Power To Gas and crop yield boosting in greenhouses. The multi criteria analysis pointed out carbon dioxide curing of concrete and BECCS in saltwater aquifers as suitable solutions for the studied case. The implementation of these techniques requires a liquefaction plant, infrastructure for transportation as well as business partners. A life cycle assessment of the studied cases climate impact was given through modelling and simulation of a model plant of the studied case, with the functional unit 1 Nm3 biomethane. The reference case Business as usual had a climate impact of 0,38 kg CO2 eq, which corresponds to approximately one eighth of the climate impact of fossil fuels such as gasoline or diesel. By storing the carbon dioxide through BECCS in saltwater aquifers the climate impact decreased to - 0,42 kg CO2 eq. By utilizing the carbon dioxide through curing of concrete the biomethane’s climate impact decreased to -0,72 kg CO2 eq. The results thereby evince that Swedish biogas producers can improve their climate performance through CCS and CCU.

With a departure point in the theories of social constructions of technology (SCOT), the sociology of expectations and Thomas P. Hughe’s socio-technical systems I analyse the measures that were undertaken in these efforts, the arguments put forward for and against the ethanol and wood gas projects and how the efforts turned out. I also investigate how the interpretations of ethanol and wood gas as fuel alternatives changed from the Interwar period on through World War II and what consequences this had for ethanol and wood gas policy immediately after World War II. Source material includes Parliament and Government records, cabinet meeting files, governmental commissions, authority archives, technical evaluations and handbooks and scientific medical publications. Ethanol and wood gas were promoted from a nationalist vantage point. The Interwar debate was imbued with visions of national techno-scientific prowess in a perceived ongoing global contest for technological and scientific advancement, of which achieving autarky, self-sufficiency on important raw materials and industrial products, was an ideal for some. Ethanol and wood gas were also promoted as means for creating a lucrative new market for the forestry industry, which also held a prominent position in nationalist visions of technology. Expectations of a new war also motivated the promotion of ethanol and wood gas as national fuels. Measures for promotion included tax exemptions, sales guarantees and legislation for mandatory ethanol purchase for all petrol importing companies and gasifier loan funds. Political conflicts mainly centred around the principles of free trade as opposed to protectionism, proper use of tax funds and whether the potentials of the fuel alternatives were rhetorically exaggerated. During World War II ethanol and wood gas in particular served as important petrol surrogates. The increased wood gas use led to negative interpretations of wood gas a fuel alternative due to its hazardous, dirty and time-consuming maintenance and the changed driving behaviour it required from its users compared to petrol or ethanol fuelled automobiles. Compared to wood gas, ethanol was appreciated for its socio-technical similarities to petrol, but production was after the war deemed difficult to maintain during wartime. Whereas wood gas remained an important stand-by surrogate during the cold war, Swedish politicians lost interest in ethanol of the kind that was promoted in the Interwar years. Fuel of the Future? Today, sustainability is a central aspect in Sweden. This could also be seen in businesses marketing. A change of attitudes could also be seen, where an increasing number of companies and consumers are focused on sustainability. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how companies can implement sustainability in their marketing and the consumers’ responses to this. With regard to the twofold purpose, research questions are split into ”The Business Perspective” and ”The Consumers Perspective”. The definition of the thesis is chosen to the product category coffee. This is because coffee is a relevant product in regards to sustainability. In the thesis, a comprehensive literature review has been done. In the method, a combined quantitative and qualitative study is used. This combined method gives different insights and angles to the study. A qualitative interview is used to ”The Business Perspective” and a quantitative questionnaire to ”The Consumer Perspective”. Moreover, the results and the theory are analyzed to give answer to the research questions and purpose. Sustainability is a diffuse term for consumers. There is a lack of knowledge concerning the concept of sustainability, sustainability ads and sustainabilitylabels. Therefor, a ”gap” could be identified between the sustainability marketing and the consumers responding attitudes. To educate and inform the consumers concerning sustainability aspects could result in higher levels of engagement and motivation and moreover an increased priority of choosing products with sustainabilitylabels in the buying situation. It is important that the company can make their sustainability marketing effective, so that the communication reach the consumers in a way that is wanted. A central aspect in this is to, with creativity and newthinking, attract the ”right” segment of consumers by modern communication tools and modern platforms.

; The aim of this study is to inquire into how citizen contribution to sustainable urban development may be supported. The following questions are examined through literature and a case study: What role can citizen initiatives play for sustainable urban development? Which problems do such initiatives meet? How can the prerequisites of citizen initiatives be improved? How can specialist knowledge be applied to support the citizen initiatives? The case study is made out of Möllevångsgruppen, a grass root initiative in Malmö with objectives to contribute to an ecologically and socially sustainable society. Interviews with key actors within the organisation and the municipality in question constitute the empirical material. The ...

This study examine how it is to be a farmer in Sweden today and what that drives people to work with agriculture, what they think of sustainability as a concept and what they think of running sustainable farming, this study also examines what the farmers think about the future for agriculture as a whole and for their own business. The purpose is to identify the “human behind the farmer” and to gain an increased understanding for farming as a profession, and how the relation to the farmers landscape matters in their definition of sustainability. To reach the purpose have four in- depth interviews been made with farmers in Västra Mälardalen and the material has been analysed with qualitative content analysis. The global food production needs to increase in the future to meet the need of the increasing population. Swedish fields are relatively preserved compared to in many other countries which will increase the pressure on the Swedish food production. The problem is to meet the global demand on Swedish production and at the same time in a sustainable way to minimize negative environmental- and climate change. The result show that the farmers know their farms history, in al cases the farms have been in the family, the framers have good knowledge of their landscapes. What drives them to work with agriculture is the alternately work and the freedom with responsibility, at the same time the work is occasionally very intense and lonely. The result show that a sustainable agriculture is more important than an ecological agriculture and the conventional farmers have a scepticism for ecological. There is a general distrust for the community where the government and the public often prefer to buy imported food instead of supporting the Swedish farmers.

In addition, e-commerce companies have to a greater extent emphasized customer adaptation in regards to delivery opportunities. For example, customers are being offered a large number ofcarriers and delivery methods in order to satisfy the delivery requirements of everycustomer. Despite the fact that more companies than ever seem to take environmentallyfriendly delivery alternatives into account, irrational and impulsive buying behaviour andself-interest is being put above the environment. Prior studies identify freight cost as themost crucial aspect when choosing a delivery alternative. The interest for sustainabledelivery alternatives has developed throughout the last couple of years, which is a result ofrising levels of carbon dioxide emissions, as well as pollution and contamination. The mainpurpose of this study is to explore e-customers buying behaviour and decision making inrelation to the environmentally friendly delivery alternatives that are being offered. Thestudy is limited to business-to-consumer (B2C). In order to respond to the purpose of thisstudy, a quantitative method in the form of a survey was conducted and a convenienceselection was applied with 116 respondents. The final result indicates that freight cost isthe most prominent incentive to justify consumption, which is at the expense ofenvironmental sustainability. Furthermore, additional results and statistical relationshipsare presented that show the e-customer's buying behaviour in connection with othervariables that are considered important for answering the issues of the thesis. Theconclusion shows that e-commerce customers strongly value price when choosing deliveryand return alternatives. There are clear demographic differences in terms of buyingbehaviour and e-customers do not take their environmental responsibility when buying online. Finally, proposals are presented for future ...

Thefirst user is a hotel including spa facilities that uses a large amount of warm water, thesecond user is an office building that has a very low usage of warm water. The aim is to develop and validate methods for forecasting district heat use onvarious timescales. The average daily temperature for each month is shown to benormally distributed and average temperatures are therefore suitable for long-termforecasting. It is also shown that there is a clear linear relationship between lowerout-door temperature and higher use of district heating power. The thesis shows thatthe hotel will have a different power signature for their district heating compared tothe office that use a relative low amount of warm water.Short term forecasts, with a horizon of 10 days, are made for both the hotel andoffice building. As a result of the forecasts it is shown that the it is easier todetermine when the peak district heating power outtake will occur for the buildingwith a high amount of domestic hot water usage. However, forecasts for total diurnalheat use are equally accurate for the investigated buildings

For further information contact us at helpdesk@openaire.eudescription Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Bachelor thesis 2020 SwedenPublisher:Linköpings universitet, Industriell miljöteknik Authors: Harrius, Josefine; Larsson, Amanda;Carbon dioxide is released by natural and anthropogenic processes, such as the production and combustion of fossil fuels.

A central aspect in this is to, with creativity and newthinking, attract the ”right” segment of consumers by modern communication tools and modern platforms.

; The municipal waste treatment plant Sundet in Växjö currently has a digestion plant producing biogas. ; The aim of this study is to inquire into how citizen contribution to sustainable urban development may be supported.
