(Boldo), es una especie endémica y característica del bosque esclerófilo. Su potencial económico está relacionado con la comercialización de sus hojas. El problema asociado a este mercado tiene relación con la sostenibilidad del recurso en el tiempo. Considerando su potencial económico, se evaluaron las respuestas morfo-fisiológicas en rebrotes nuevos y vástagos remanentes, según intensidad de corta, en la Comuna de Olmué, Región de Valparaíso. Se establecieron tres parcelas de 0,2 hectáreas cada una, donde se midieron: número de vástagos por cepa, DAP de los vástagos por cepa y área basal a nivel de cepa. De las tres parcelas, una corresponde a una parcela control y las dos parcelas restantes fueron cosechadas parcialmente. Se seleccionaron 12 cepas control y 12 cepas intervenidas. Las variables hídricas medidas fueron: potencial hídrico de la hoja (a pre-alba (ΨA) y al mediodía (ΨMD)) y contenido hídrico relativo de la hoja (a pre-alba (CHRA) y al mediodía (CHRMD). Para la caracterización del crecimiento de rebrotes se midieron el DAC y altura, y para la evaluación del crecimiento de los vástagos remanentes se midió el DAP de todos los vástagos por cepa. Para estimar la biomasa de rebrotes, se construyeron modelos de regresión utilizando el peso seco de 20 rebrotes y las variables predictoras DAC y altura. Para estimar la biomasa de los vástagos remanentes, se emplearon funciones de biomasa determinadas por Durán (2005). Por último, se analizó la acumulación de biomasa aérea total de boldo en cepas control y cepas intervenidas para un período de evaluación de un año. Los resultados muestran que el bosque con presencia de boldo presentó una densidad promedio de 207 cepas/ha correspondientes a un Gha inicial de 5,06 m2/ha. Para combatir el cambio climático, es necesario promover la disminución de las emisiones de los GEl, con la utilización de energía limpia, disminuyendo el uso de combustibles fósiles. Con este propósito se acordó en el Protocolo de Kyoto el Mecanismo de desarrollo Limpio (MOL). La actual situación de suministro energético en Chile hace necesario diversificar la matriz energética, para esto se ha optado por el estímulo al desarrollo de las Energías Renovables No Convencionales (ERNC). En el Sur de Chile una actividad que contribuye a la contaminación es la ganadería lechera, a través de la emisión de metano y de los desechos orgánicos, los que al utilizarlos como biomasa (ERNC) se obtiene biogás, con el cual se puede generar energía eléctrica y térmica por medio de la cogeneración. El Objetivo General de este trabajo es "determinar en qué consiste la utilización del biogás para la cogeneración de energía en un predio lechero". Esta energía puede ser utilizada en distintas aplicaciones, por ejemplo reinyectándose en sistemas que la estén perdiendo o reemplazando baterías en pequeños equipos electrónicos de baja potencia, tales como sensores de monitoreo remoto. En la presente memoria se estudia un sistema vibratorio del tipo wake galloping, con el objetivo de investigar experimentalmente el efecto de la geometría del generador de vórtices de sección cuadrada y tipo placa plana en la potencia obtenida. Para llevar a cabo dicho objetivo se plantean los siguientes objetivos específicos: implementar modificaciones al montaje experimental existente y validar el procedimiento experimental reproduciendo curva de aceleración y frecuencia versus velocidad del viento para el generador de vórtices cilíndrico de sección circular, estimar la potencia obtenida usando como generador de vórtices un cilindro de sección cuadrada y estimar la potencia obtenida usando como generador de vórtices una placa plana. Este sistema, a escala pequeña, puede aprovecharse por ejemplo en túneles de trenes subterráneos, alimentando sensores de monitoreo remotos, pudiendo clasificarse como un sistema de cosechamiento de energía. Las variables en estudio para cada geometría fueron: la velocidad del viento, y la razón de aspecto en distancia X=L⁄D, donde D es el diámetro del cilindro móvil y L es la distancia entre dicho cilindro y el generador de vórtices. Para el cilindro de sección cuadrada además se varía el ángulo de inclinación del mismo con respecto al flujo incidente. To this end, the Gumbel's PDF was applied, with which the best results for fitting peak flows were obtained, considering return periods of 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 years. Thanks to the time-series segmentation of data, we concluded that the flow values tended to increase during the most recent periods. This is illustrated with mean values, trend charts and fitting of probability distribution functions. Finally, it was graphically and statistically shown that during recent years there has been an increase in maximum annual flows, which could be confirmed through hydrological climate change processes which have increasingly contributed to the flows through decreased snowpacks and glacial retreat from increased temperatures

For this reason, it is key to study the climate influence on radial growth and trees establishment to design strategies of conservation and mitigation in the face of a climate change situation. In this study, 10 trees populations of N. macrocarpa were selected across natural distribution for a dendroecological analysis. The relationship between droughts and radial growth was analyzed annually, while the influence of water favorable conditions in trees establishment was evaluated in periods of 10 years. Results identified three growth patterns: (i) most degraded populations of the Coastal Mountains (young trees predominate), (ii) low-intervened forests found at a higher altitude in the Coastal Mountains and (iii) low-intervened forests of the Andes Mountains. All populations showed positive correlations with the SPEI-drought index during winter-spring, being sensitive up to 36 months after a dry period. More than 64% of the years with lowest growth are associated with historical droughts in all the chronologies, whereas trees establishment linked to humid periods was found especially in the less degraded forests (37-41% trees). This article analyses the threat of climate change on population health and the urgent need to implement measures to avoid this damage. Heat vulnerability, heatwave exposures, and wildfire exposure to forest fires have increased in Chile. In 2018, the annual mean concentration of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) exceeded the safe level proposed by the World Health Organization, increasing the risk of negative health outcomes. Thus, multidisciplinary and intersectoral mitigation and adaptation policies are needed. Among other elements, mental health impacts of climate change, health education provided by health workers to reduce negative health impacts of climate change, greater engagement of academia to generate evidence useful for policy-making processes and a better articulation between central and local governments should be considered. Los programas de simulación energética disponibles normalmente se utilizan en las etapas de diseño; no obstante, su rendimiento es bastante limitado cuando se emplean para seleccionar medidas de eficiencia energética en edificios existentes. Este artículo proporciona un marco metodológico para predecir: (i) el consumo de energía proveniente de la calefacción, refrigeración y climatización de un edificio corporativo existente, y (ii) el potencial impacto de diferentes medidas de eficiencia energética. El marco propuesto incorpora un esquema de simulación vinculado con una estrategia algorítmica para la optimización de parámetros. El marco se implementa en lenguaje de programación JAVA y se aplica en un edificio corporativo de 500 [m2] ubicado en Puerto Montt, Chile. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que la herramienta propuesta es competitiva en comparación con DesignBuilder, una herramienta de simulación de vanguardia, y, lo que es más importante, permite estimar los ahorros inducidos por diferentes combinaciones de medidas de eficiencia energética. Buildings represent over the 40% of the energy consumption worldwide; existing buildings offer, therefore, a tremendous opportunity for improving sustainable development. The available energy simulation softwares are typically used in design stages; nonetheless, their performance is rather limited when used for selecting energy conservation measures in existing buildings. This article provides a methodological framework for predicting (i) the energy consumption from heating, cooling and air conditioning of an existing corporate building, and (ii) the potential impact of different energy conservation measures. The proposed framework embeds a simulation scheme linked with an algorithmic strategy for parameter optimization. The framework is implemented in JAVA programming language and it is applied in a 500 [m2] corporative building located in Puerto Montt, Chile. The attained results show that the proposed tool is competitive when compared with DesignBuilder, a state-of-the art simulation tool, and, more importantly, allows to estimate the savings induced by different mixes of energy conservation measures. Moreover, from a computational point of view, the algorithm only requires 2.5 [h] for completing the simulation.

Los principales factores son el costo de la electricidad y el de los electrolizadores, junto con las tasas de utilización de la capacidad instalada. En los últimos años, el costo de la electricidad procedente de la energía solar fotovoltaica y de la energía eólica se ha reducido drásticamente, y se esperan nuevas reducciones. También se están reduciendo los costos de los electrolizadores. En este documento se recopilan estimaciones y se realizan proyecciones para ofrecer rangos plausibles para el costo de la producción del hidrógeno verde, centradas en la revisión de la Estrategia Nacional del Hidrógeno Verde del Ministerio de Energía del Estado de Chile. Se realiza una estimación del consumo de energía eléctrica para el proceso de la electrólisis considerando energía eólica aislada (Off-grid), como única fuente de energía eléctrica al proceso. Se utiliza un método de simulación Monte Carlo para estimar el riesgo de los análisis cuantitativos concluyendo el costo de producción puesto en destino podría estar en torno a los 3,2 dólares/kg en la actualidad (rango de 2,94 a 3,49 dólares/kg con un 90% de probabilidad). Para el 2030 se estima un rango en torno a 2,1 dólares/kg (rango de 1,92 USD/kg a 2,33 con un 90% de probabilidad). El costo es particularmente influenciado por los precios de la electricidad y los factores de planta de las ERNC. Para cumplir las proyecciones de la Estrategia Nacional del Hidrógeno Verde al 2050 sería necesario quintuplicar la actual capacidad instalada. La Región de Magallanes por sí sola podría cubrir tan sólo un 15% de esta capacidad, lo cual, la dejaría con una gran cantidad de aerogeneradores, lo que hace poco plausibles las proyecciones realizadas. // ABSTRACT: The decline in costs of renewable energy suggests that produce green hydrogen could attractive compared to that produced from fossil fuels. The main cost-factors are electricity, electrolyzers plant and the charge factor of installed capacity. In recent years, the cost of electricity from PV and wind has dropped dramatically, and further reductions are expected. The costs of electrolyzers plants are also being reduced. In this document are compiled estimations and projections to provide plausible costs of green hydrogen production, focused on the Ministry of Energy's National Green Hydrogen Strategy. It was make an estimation of electrical energy consumption for the electrolysis process considering isolated wind energy (off-grid), as the only source of electrical energy to the process. A Monte Carlo simulation method was use to estimate the risk of the projections. It was conclude the cost of production could be around 3.2 dollars / kg today (range of 2.94 to 3.49 dollars / kg with a 90% probability). This article presents an alternative view on the regeneration approaches in markets, based on the revision of the concepts of heterogeneity, distributive trade and sustainability, inspired by Max Weber. A documentary analysis of 34 markets in America, Europe and Asia is performed. El sector industrial de Transporte demanda casi un 30% de la energía mundial, y es responsable del 27% de las emisiones de GEI. Así, los biocombustibles, en particular el biodiesel, surgen como alternativa con ventajas económicas, ambientales, y de seguridad energética entre otras. El biodiesel puede producirse a partir de diversas materias primas como aceites vegetales y grasas animales. El aceite reciclado de cocina y el de ricino, no generan controversia debido a que no tienen un fin alimenticio, como otros aceites, por lo que se incluyeron de manera de promover una mejor disposición final del primero; y favorecer el desarrollo rural en sectores provechosos en el caso del segundo. El desarrollo de sistemas expertos es una forma de promover conocimiento sobre un dominio específico; además sirve de apoyo al usuario, al no requerir de un experto - lo cual es difícil y costoso de conseguir -, y ahorra tiempo y recursos a éste, mejorando la accesibilidad al conocimiento. El proceso producción de biodiesel mediante transesterificación, se formalizó e incorporó en una herramienta para implementar sistemas expertos (Shell). El sistema experto desarrollado en la Shell NExpert consta de 47 reglas de la forma SI-ENTONCES, y contiene información para llevar a cabo el proceso de transesterificación para cada aceite mencionado, mediante vía básica (NaOH o KOH) en un solo paso. (Boldo), es una especie endémica y característica del bosque esclerófilo. Su potencial económico está relacionado con la comercialización de sus hojas. El problema asociado a este mercado tiene relación con la sostenibilidad del recurso en el tiempo. Considerando su potencial económico, se evaluaron las respuestas morfo-fisiológicas en rebrotes nuevos y vástagos remanentes, según intensidad de corta, en la Comuna de Olmué, Región de Valparaíso. Se establecieron tres parcelas de 0,2 hectáreas cada una, donde se midieron: número de vástagos por cepa, DAP de los vástagos por cepa y área basal a nivel de cepa. De las tres parcelas, una corresponde a una parcela control y las dos parcelas restantes fueron cosechadas parcialmente. Se seleccionaron 12 cepas control y 12 cepas intervenidas. Las variables hídricas medidas fueron: potencial hídrico de la hoja (a pre-alba (ΨA) y al mediodía (ΨMD)) y contenido hídrico relativo de la hoja (a pre-alba (CHRA) y al mediodía (CHRMD). Para la caracterización del crecimiento de rebrotes se midieron el DAC y altura, y para la evaluación del crecimiento de los vástagos remanentes se midió el DAP de todos los vástagos por cepa. Para estimar la biomasa de rebrotes, se construyeron modelos de regresión utilizando el peso seco de 20 rebrotes y las variables predictoras DAC y altura. Para estimar la biomasa de los vástagos remanentes, se emplearon funciones de biomasa determinadas por Durán (2005). Por último, se analizó la acumulación de biomasa aérea total de boldo en cepas control y cepas intervenidas para un período de evaluación de un año. Los resultados muestran que el bosque con presencia de boldo presentó una densidad promedio de 207 cepas/ha correspondientes a un Gha inicial de 5,06 m2/ha. Para combatir el cambio climático, es necesario promover la disminución de las emisiones de los GEl, con la utilización de energía limpia, disminuyendo el uso de combustibles fósiles. Con este propósito se acordó en el Protocolo de Kyoto el Mecanismo de desarrollo Limpio (MOL). La actual situación de suministro energético en Chile hace necesario diversificar la matriz energética, para esto se ha optado por el estímulo al desarrollo de las Energías Renovables No Convencionales (ERNC). En el Sur de Chile una actividad que contribuye a la contaminación es la ganadería lechera, a través de la emisión de metano y de los desechos orgánicos, los que al utilizarlos como biomasa (ERNC) se obtiene biogás, con el cual se puede generar energía eléctrica y térmica por medio de la cogeneración. El Objetivo General de este trabajo es "determinar en qué consiste la utilización del biogás para la cogeneración de energía en un predio lechero". Esta energía puede ser utilizada en distintas aplicaciones, por ejemplo reinyectándose en sistemas que la estén perdiendo o reemplazando baterías en pequeños equipos electrónicos de baja potencia, tales como sensores de monitoreo remoto. En la presente memoria se estudia un sistema vibratorio del tipo wake galloping, con el objetivo de investigar experimentalmente el efecto de la geometría del generador de vórtices de sección cuadrada y tipo placa plana en la potencia obtenida. Para llevar a cabo dicho objetivo se plantean los siguientes objetivos específicos: implementar modificaciones al montaje experimental existente y validar el procedimiento experimental reproduciendo curva de aceleración y frecuencia versus velocidad del viento para el generador de vórtices cilíndrico de sección circular, estimar la potencia obtenida usando como generador de vórtices un cilindro de sección cuadrada y estimar la potencia obtenida usando como generador de vórtices una placa plana. Este sistema, a escala pequeña, puede aprovecharse por ejemplo en túneles de trenes subterráneos, alimentando sensores de monitoreo remotos, pudiendo clasificarse como un sistema de cosechamiento de energía. Las variables en estudio para cada geometría fueron: la velocidad del viento, y la razón de aspecto en distancia X=L⁄D, donde D es el diámetro del cilindro móvil y L es la distancia entre dicho cilindro y el generador de vórtices. Para el cilindro de sección cuadrada además se varía el ángulo de inclinación del mismo con respecto al flujo incidente. To this end, the Gumbel's PDF was applied, with which the best results for fitting peak flows were obtained, considering return periods of 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 years. Thanks to the time-series segmentation of data, we concluded that the flow values tended to increase during the most recent periods. This is illustrated with mean values, trend charts and fitting of probability distribution functions. Finally, it was graphically and statistically shown that during recent years there has been an increase in maximum annual flows, which could be confirmed through hydrological climate change processes which have increasingly contributed to the flows through decreased snowpacks and glacial retreat from increased temperatures

For this reason, it is key to study the climate influence on radial growth and trees establishment to design strategies of conservation and mitigation in the face of a climate change situation. In this study, 10 trees populations of N. macrocarpa were selected across natural distribution for a dendroecological analysis. The relationship between droughts and radial growth was analyzed annually, while the influence of water favorable conditions in trees establishment was evaluated in periods of 10 years. Results identified three growth patterns: (i) most degraded populations of the Coastal Mountains (young trees predominate), (ii) low-intervened forests found at a higher altitude in the Coastal Mountains and (iii) low-intervened forests of the Andes Mountains. All populations showed positive correlations with the SPEI-drought index during winter-spring, being sensitive up to 36 months after a dry period. More than 64% of the years with lowest growth are associated with historical droughts in all the chronologies, whereas trees establishment linked to humid periods was found especially in the less degraded forests (37-41% trees). This article analyses the threat of climate change on population health and the urgent need to implement measures to avoid this damage. Heat vulnerability, heatwave exposures, and wildfire exposure to forest fires have increased in Chile. In 2018, the annual mean concentration of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) exceeded the safe level proposed by the World Health Organization, increasing the risk of negative health outcomes. Thus, multidisciplinary and intersectoral mitigation and adaptation policies are needed. Among other elements, mental health impacts of climate change, health education provided by health workers to reduce negative health impacts of climate change, greater engagement of academia to generate evidence useful for policy-making processes and a better articulation between central and local governments should be considered. Los programas de simulación energética disponibles normalmente se utilizan en las etapas de diseño; no obstante, su rendimiento es bastante limitado cuando se emplean para seleccionar medidas de eficiencia energética en edificios existentes. Este artículo proporciona un marco metodológico para predecir: (i) el consumo de energía proveniente de la calefacción, refrigeración y climatización de un edificio corporativo existente, y (ii) el potencial impacto de diferentes medidas de eficiencia energética. El marco propuesto incorpora un esquema de simulación vinculado con una estrategia algorítmica para la optimización de parámetros. El marco se implementa en lenguaje de programación JAVA y se aplica en un edificio corporativo de 500 [m2] ubicado en Puerto Montt, Chile. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que la herramienta propuesta es competitiva en comparación con DesignBuilder, una herramienta de simulación de vanguardia, y, lo que es más importante, permite estimar los ahorros inducidos por diferentes combinaciones de medidas de eficiencia energética. Además, desde un punto de vista computacional, el algoritmo solo requiere 2.5 [h] para completar la simulación./ ABSTRACT. Buildings represent over the 40% of the energy consumption worldwide; existing buildings offer, therefore, a tremendous opportunity for improving sustainable development. The available energy simulation softwares are typically used in design stages; nonetheless, their performance is rather limited when used for selecting energy conservation measures in existing buildings. This article provides a methodological framework for predicting (i) the energy consumption from heating, cooling and air conditioning of an existing corporate building, and (ii) the potential impact of different energy conservation measures. The proposed framework embeds a simulation scheme linked with an algorithmic strategy for parameter optimization. The framework is implemented in JAVA programming language and it is applied in a 500 [m2] corporative building located in Puerto Montt, Chile. The attained results show that the proposed tool is competitive when compared with DesignBuilder, a state-of-the art simulation tool, and, more importantly, allows to estimate the savings induced by different mixes of energy conservation measures. Moreover, from a computational point of view, the algorithm only requires 2.5 [h] for completing the simulation.

Los principales factores son el costo de la electricidad y el de los electrolizadores, junto con las tasas de utilización de la capacidad instalada. En los últimos años, el costo de la electricidad procedente de la energía solar fotovoltaica y de la energía eólica se ha reducido drásticamente, y se esperan nuevas reducciones. También se están reduciendo los costos de los electrolizadores. En este documento se recopilan estimaciones y se realizan proyecciones para ofrecer rangos plausibles para el costo de la producción del hidrógeno verde, centradas en la revisión de la Estrategia Nacional del Hidrógeno Verde del Ministerio de Energía del Estado de Chile. Se realiza una estimación del consumo de energía eléctrica para el proceso de la electrólisis considerando energía eólica aislada (Off-grid), como única fuente de energía eléctrica al proceso. Se utiliza un método de simulación Monte Carlo para estimar el riesgo de los análisis cuantitativos concluyendo el costo de producción puesto en destino podría estar en torno a los 3,2 dólares/kg en la actualidad (rango de 2,94 a 3,49 dólares/kg con un 90% de probabilidad). Para el 2030 se estima un rango en torno a 2,1 dólares/kg (rango de 1,92 USD/kg a 2,33 con un 90% de probabilidad). El costo es particularmente influenciado por los precios de la electricidad y los factores de planta de las ERNC. Para cumplir las proyecciones de la Estrategia Nacional del Hidrógeno Verde al 2050 sería necesario quintuplicar la actual capacidad instalada. La Región de Magallanes por sí sola podría cubrir tan sólo un 15% de esta capacidad, lo cual, la dejaría con una gran cantidad de aerogeneradores, lo que hace poco plausibles las proyecciones realizadas. // ABSTRACT: The decline in costs of renewable energy suggests that produce green hydrogen could attractive compared to that produced from fossil fuels. The main cost-factors are electricity, electrolyzers plant and the charge factor of installed capacity. In recent years, the cost of electricity from PV and wind has dropped dramatically, and further reductions are expected. The costs of electrolyzers plants are also being reduced. In this document are compiled estimations and projections to provide plausible costs of green hydrogen production, focused on the Ministry of Energy's National Green Hydrogen Strategy. It was make an estimation of electrical energy consumption for the electrolysis process considering isolated wind energy (off-grid), as the only source of electrical energy to the process. A Monte Carlo simulation method was use to estimate the risk of the projections. It was conclude the cost of production could be around 3.2 dollars / kg today (range of 2.94 to 3.49 dollars / kg with a 90% probability). For 2030, a range was Project around 2.1 dollars / kg (range from 1.92 USD / kg to 2.33 with a 90% probability). Cost was particularly influence by electricity prices and plant factor. This article presents an alternative view on the regeneration approaches in markets, based on the revision of the concepts of heterogeneity, distributive trade and sustainability, inspired by Max Weber. A documentary analysis of 34 markets in America, Europe and Asia is performed. These three values allow us to understand markets as complex social units, where relevant original values remain to be considered for the endogenous development of cities. ; En el estado del arte sobre la regeneración de mercados tradicionales predominan tres perspectivas: la liberal, como activación económica, la socioeconómica integral y la crítica frente a la gentrificación. El sector industrial de Transporte demanda casi un 30% de la energía mundial, y es responsable del 27% de las emisiones de GEI. Así, los biocombustibles, en particular el biodiesel, surgen como alternativa con ventajas económicas, ambientales, y de seguridad energética entre otras. El biodiesel puede producirse a partir de diversas materias primas como aceites vegetales y grasas animales. El aceite reciclado de cocina y el de ricino, no generan controversia debido a que no tienen un fin alimenticio, como otros aceites, por lo que se incluyeron de manera de promover una mejor disposición final del primero; y favorecer el desarrollo rural en sectores provechosos en el caso del segundo. El desarrollo de sistemas expertos es una forma de promover conocimiento sobre un dominio específico; además sirve de apoyo al usuario, al no requerir de un experto - lo cual es difícil y costoso de conseguir -, y ahorra tiempo y recursos a éste, mejorando la accesibilidad al conocimiento. El proceso producción de biodiesel mediante transesterificación, se formalizó e incorporó en una herramienta para implementar sistemas expertos (Shell). El sistema experto desarrollado en la Shell NExpert consta de 47 reglas de la forma SI-ENTONCES, y contiene información para llevar a cabo el proceso de transesterificación para cada aceite mencionado, mediante vía básica (NaOH o KOH) en un solo paso. Se validó la transesterificación de aceite usado con NaOH como catalizador, obteniendo rendimientos muy cercanos (90%) a los reportados en la literatura.
