The model 4C (‘FORESEE’ - Forest Ecosystems in a Changing Environment) has been developed to describe long-term forest behaviour under changing environmental conditions. It describes processes on tree and stand level basing on findings from eco-physiological experiments, long term observations and physiological modelling. The model includes descriptions of tree species composition, forest structure, total ecosystem carbon content as well as leaf area index. The model shares a number of features with gap models, which have often been used for the simulation of long-term forest development. Establishment, growth and mortality of tree cohorts are explicitly modelled on a patch on which horizontal homogeneity is assumed.

It assesses the suitability of different crop by combining climate, soil and elevation data. CropSuite is able to consider interannual climate fluctuations, which makes it particularly robust for evaluations in regions with highly variable weather conditions. Using a fuzzy logic membership function approach, the model provides realistic and continuous suitability assessments that reflect the complex interactions between crops and environmental conditions. As an empirical and statistical model, CropSuite combines established crop-climate relationships with data-driven thresholds to provide transparent, interpretable results. The model provides full control via an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) that allows users to configure settings, manage input data and run simulations without writing code. A built-in data viewer allows visualization and comparison of model results directly in the application. CropSuite supports flexible spatial input and output resolutions, enabling both comprehensive regional assessments and high-resolution local analysis. CropSuite is compatible with user-defined datasets and is highly customizable through easily editable .ini configuration files. In addition to assessing crop suitability, CropSuite computes the optimal sowing dates for each crop - and can even do this for multiple crop cycles within a year, including crop rotations. It assesses the suitability of different crop by combining climate, soil and elevation data. CropSuite is able to consider interannual climate fluctuations, which makes it particularly robust for evaluations in regions with highly variable weather conditions. Using a fuzzy logic membership function approach, the model provides realistic and continuous suitability assessments that reflect the complex interactions between crops and environmental conditions. As an empirical and statistical model, CropSuite combines established crop-climate relationships with data-driven thresholds to provide transparent, interpretable results. The model provides full control via an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) that allows users to configure settings, manage input data and run simulations without writing code. A built-in data viewer allows visualization and comparison of model results directly in the application. CropSuite supports flexible spatial input and output resolutions, enabling both comprehensive regional assessments and high-resolution local analysis. CropSuite is compatible with user-defined datasets and is highly customizable through easily editable .ini configuration files. In addition to assessing crop suitability, CropSuite computes the optimal sowing dates for each crop - and can even do this for multiple crop cycles within a year, including crop rotations.
