    Die Überschätzung der Zahlungsbereitschaft in rein hypothetischen Entscheidungssituationen ist ein in der Literatur wohlbekanntes Phänomen. Zur Eliminierung dieser Verzerrung wurden verschiedene Methoden vorgeschlagen, unter anderen der sogenannte Cheap-Talk-Ansatz und das Consequential-Skript. Auf Basis einer Erhebung unter mehr als 6.500 deutschen Haushalten untersucht dieser Beitrag die Effektivität dieser Korrektive. Nach unseren ökonometrischen Ergebnissen erweist sich allein Cheap Talk als effektiv, senkt jedoch die Zahlungsbereitschaft für grünen Strom nur bei jenen Befragten, die sich nicht ganz sicher hinsichtlich ihrer Angaben zur Zahlungsbereitschaft sind. Darüber hinaus zeigen unsere Befragungsergebnisse einen starken Kontrast zwischen der Unterstützung für erneuerbare Energien und der Zahlungsbereitschaft für grünen Strom. So sprechen sich 85,1% der Antwortenden für die Förderung erneuerbarer Energietechnologien aus, aber nur knapp die Hälfte der Antwortenden ist bereit, für grünen Strom zusätzliche Kosten in Kauf zu nehmen.     The project CLIMB (Climate Induced Changes on the Hydrology of Mediterranean Basins – Reducing Uncertainty and Quantifying Risk through an Integrated Monitoring and Modelling System, www.climb-fp7.eu) aims to investigate present and future climate induced changes in the hydrological budgets and extremes for Mediterranean and neighbouring countries. We provide a concept for an integrated modelling and assessment set-up to tackle the challenge of quantifying parameter related uncertainties and associated risks with the water balance simulation model ETH (WaSiM-ETH) for the cultivation of tomatoes in Chiba basin, Tunisia, which is a test site within the CLIMB project. This study indicates that it is already delicate to cultivate tomatoes in the watershed under rain-fed conditions with a deteriorating trend in the future. This is associated with considerable yield reduction for tomatoes and thus economic impacts for local farmers.

    The replacement of internal combustion engines by electric motors has been identified as a way to achieve widely-accepted international climate protection goals. Especially in the material handling sector, vehicles with electric drives have gained increasing market acceptance over the past decades. However, the electrification of counterbalanced forklift trucks with high tonnages requires batteries with extended energy capacity. Higher energy capacity usually correlates with higher volume-to-surface ratios resulting in decreased heat dissipation and, therefore, increased average operating temperatures of the commonly used lead acid batteries. As a consequence, battery lifetime is greatly reduced. Without design changes, one possibility for avoiding high operating temperatures is an adapted battery management strategy. This thesis reports on results obtained with flooded lead acid batteries, demonstrating that, with management strategies which include operation in a partial state of charge, energy efficiencies can be increased from about 0.7 to about 0.85 with minimal impact on lifetime.

    Auf der Suche nach Lösungen für die soziale, ökologische und ökonomische Krise, explorierte die Autorin sozialökologische Ansätze und die Bedeutung der sozialen Dimension der Nachhaltigkeit. Wie entstehen sozial und ökologisch nachhaltige Organisationsstrukturen? Aus Nachhaltigkeitsansätzen wurde ein „Prinzipienkatalog“ zusammengestellt anhand dessen sieben sozialökologische Gemeinschaften und Ökodörfer ausgewählt und mittels je mehrwöchigen teilnehmenden Beobachtungsbesuchen beforscht wurden. Die Umsetzung ihrer Visionen wurde exploriert und ihre Praktiken auf innovative Methoden sozial-ökologisch nachhaltiger Lebensweise ausgewertet. Ergebnis ist eine Zusammenhangsanalyse der Methoden zum Aufbau und Erhalt zukunftsfähiger Sozialwesen: eine werteorientierte Basis, Methoden effektiver Entscheidungsfindungsprozesse, Pflege gemeinschaftlicher Nachbarschaft und Basis nachhaltiger Wirtschaftsmethoden – ein Methodenset zur Anregungen für die Praxis auch in anderen gesellschaftlichen Kontexten. Has modernity killed “community”? What is the social dimension of sustainability and why is community relevant for it? After discussing sociological theories and Communitarian efforts the author generates criteria of sustainable living from contemporary research. For empirical study worthwhile communities were selected according to the criteria. Do intentional communities offer realistic solutions to the ecological, social and economic crises? Do they realize their ambitious visions? In participant observation during several week-long visits in seven intentional communities (mainly in Germany) the cases were specified as “living laboratories” of communal and ecological living. The most innovative methods in sustainable living combining individual freedom and communal cooperation were identified and described in the areas of membership governance, decision making, and communication to show transferrable methods to other communities and groups.

    Wissenschaftler:innen beschreiben auf Basis aktueller Forschungsergebnisse und Studien, wie eine nachhaltige Welt aussehen könnte. Dies ist keine Vorhersage oder Modellierung, sondern es sind Beschreibungen dieser Welt von Menschen, die sich intensiv mit Lösungsmöglichkeiten beschäftigen. Neben einem Weiter-so-Bild (Titel: „Langsam“) werden daher drei verschiedene Zukünfte geschildert (Titel: „Groß“, „Fokussiert“ und „Graswurzel“). Diese benennen auch Beispiele der Maßnahmen mit denen soziale Ziele erreicht und planetare Grenzen (zum Beispiel Pariser Klimaziele oder Biodiversitätsziele) eingehalten werden können. Die hier bereitgestellten Texte wurden von unabhängigen Wissenschaftler:innen geprüft (wissenschaftliches Review). Nach einer journalistischen Bearbeitung sollen sie auch einem nichtwissenschaftlichen Publikum zugänglich gemacht werden. Diese Datei dokumentiert nur eine (von über 40) perspektivischen und thematischen Facetten in einem (von vier) Zukunftsbilderrahmen. Andere Texte finden sich in der community ‘Zukunftsbilder’.

    Der Bericht enthält den aktuellen Wissensstand zu Dürreindizes für die Anwendung in Sachsen. Dafür werden mehr als 100 Indizes aus den Gebieten Meteorologie, Hydrologie und Landwirtschaft sowie kombinierte Indizes charakterisiert. Berechnungen ausgewählter meteorologischer Dürreindizes für fünf Klimamessstationen und Modellierungen der Bodenfeuchte werden verglichen. Danach sind z. B. niederschlagsbasierte Indizes für Sachsen deutlich aussagekräftiger als rein temperaturbasierte. Die Veröffentlichung richtet sich an regionale Akteure sowie Planungsbüros, Bildungseinrichtungen und Unternehmen.

    Der Erfolg der Photovoltaik in Deutschland und der Welt basiert derzeit auf der indirekten Subventionierung durch das Erneuerbare-Energien-Gesetz (EEG) und vergleichbare Instrumente in anderen Regionen. Auch unter der Prämisse, dass der derzeitige Gestehungspreis für konventionell erzeugte Elektrizität die realen Kosten, bedingt durch mögliche zukünftige Umweltschäden und Ressourcenknappheit, nur unzureichend widerspiegelt, sind weitere Kostensenkungen in der Produktion unabdingbar. Durch den hohen Kostenanteil der Wafer am Modul liegt in der Waferfertigung das größte Kostensenkungspotential. Die Vereinzelung feuchter Siliziumwafer ist aus Durchsatz- und Qualitätsaspekten ein wichtiger Schritt in der Fertigung. Durch die hohe Bruchgefahr bei der Handhabung von Wafern kann die Vereinzelung auch wesentlich zur Kostenreduktion beitragen. Die in Literatur und Patenten beschriebenen Verfahren sind derzeit noch nicht in einem ausgereiften Zustand, um die Vereinzelung von Wafern sicher und zuverlässig durchzuführen. Daher sind weitere Anstrengungen in Forschung und Entwicklung nötig, um die derzeitigen und zukünftigen Anforderungen zu erfüllen. Gleichzeitig muss das Verständnis über die Vorgänge bei der Vereinzelung sowie die Einflüsse auf den Wafer weiter vertieft werden. Insbesondere das Schädigungspotential der Vereinzelung auf den Wafer bestimmt die Auslegung eines solchen Systems in besonderem Maße. Die vorliegende Arbeit analysiert zunächst die Ausgangssituation in der derzeitigen Waferproduktion. Die Umgebung in der Waferproduktion ist geprägt durch eine Vielzahl von Einflüssen, besonders durch flüssige Betriebsstoffe wie der Slurry oder auch den Reinigungsmedien. Die zu vereinzelnden Wafer sind fragile und spröde Substrate welche in dieser Umgebung verarbeitet werden müssen. Entsprechend vielseitig ist der derzeitige Stand der Technik zur Vereinzelung, welcher größtenteils in Patentschriften beschrieben ist. Zur weiteren Entwicklung eines Vereinzelungsverfahrens wird die Aufgabe weiter analysiert. Durch Versuche in einer realen Fertigungsumgebung erscheint die Vereinzelung vom Stapel als vielversprechender Ansatz. Die Fragilität des Substrats führt zu der Überlegung, Flüssigkeitsstrahlen zur Vereinzelung der Wafer einzusetzen. Damit soll eine schonende Handhabung der Wafer erzielt werden. Das Prinzip dieser Vereinzelung vom Stapel wird dann zunächst in einem Modell beschrieben und entsprechend berechnet. Zur Überprüfung und Validierung des Modells wird zunächst ein Versuchsstand entwickelt an welchem die Einflüsse der Flüssigkeitsstrahlen auf den Wafer detailliert untersucht werden k¨onnen. Die Erkenntnisse aus dem Betrieb des Versuchsstandes fließen in die Konstruktion eines Prototypen ein. Gleichzeitig können die Einstellungen des Prototypen anhand der Ergebnisse aus den Versuchsreihen initial eingestellt werden. Die Tests mit dem Prototypen zeigen eine prinzipielle Machbarkeit des Verfahrens. Weiterer Bedarf in Forschung und Entwicklung liegt in der Optimierung von Verfahren im industriellen Umfeld. Eine hohe Zuverlässigkeit bei der Vereinzelung bei gleichzeitig störungsunempfindlichem Betrieb sind dabei wichtige Indikatoren für den Erfolg von Vereinzelungsverfahren. Technologisch kommen weitere Anforderungen auf die Waferbehandlung zu. Der Trend zu dünneren Wafern (kleiner als 180- 210 µm) ist derzeit durch die gesunkenen Kosten f¨ur das reine Silizium nicht mehr der zentrale Fokus der Entwicklung. Sobald jedoch weitere Kostensenkungspotentiale an anderer Stelle realisiert werden können, wird die Dicke der Wafer vermutlich wieder an Bedeutung zunehmen. Möglicherweise werden auch größere Waferformate (gröoßer 200mm Kantenlänge) in Zukunft in die Massenfertigung eingeführt werden. Die Verfahren und Anlagen müssen dann entsprechend angepasst werden. Eine weitere einflussreiche Entwicklung kann die Umstellung Slurry-basierter Trennverfahren auf alternative Technologien darstellen. Insbesondere das Sägen mit Diamantdraht (mit Industriediamanten besetzter Schneidedraht) wird die Vereinzelung vor neue Herausforderungen stellen, da sich die Oberflächeneigenschaften damit ändern. The separation of crystalline photovoltaic wafer after sawing is an important but difficult automation challenge. In wafer manufacturing, wafers are cut out of an ingot with a wire saw. A slurry mainly based on glycol and silicon carbide is typically used as the abrasive medium. The ingots are glued to a plate. After the wafers are cut out, they are still glued to the plate. In many factories the wafers are separated manually. However due to reasons of costs, quality and the dimensions of the wafers, an automation solution is highly desirable. This thesis presents experiments to define pre-conditions and requirements for an automated separation process. Based on this requirements a model is developed which leads to a possible solution for the implementation. The thesis concludes with the description of a prototype equipment and the conducted tests.

Wir leben, wirtschaften und entwickeln neue Technologien heutzutage immer mit Blick auf die Auswirkungen auf die Natur. – Projekt Zukunftsbilder: Wissenschaftler:innen stellen auf Basis aktueller Forschungsergebnisse und Studien dar, wie eine nachhaltige Welt aussehen könnte. Dieser Text beschreibt eine von über 40 Facetten des Lebens und Wirtschaftens in einem von vier Zukunftsbildern. Weitere Texte finden sich in der Zenodo-Community des Projekts ‘Zukunftsbilder’. Neben einem Weiter-so-Bild (Titel: „Langsam“) werden drei verschiedene positive Zukünfte geschildert (Titel: „Groß“, „Fokussiert“ und „Graswurzel“), die soziale Ziele erreichen und planetare Grenzen (zum Beispiel die Pariser Klimaziele oder Biodiversitätsziele) einhalten. Unsere Texte sind keine formellen wissenschaftlichen Zukunftsszenarien, sondern Beschreibungen von möglichen Zukünften. Sie wurden gemeinsam von Wissenschaftler:innen und Menschen aus sozialen Bewegungen erarbeitet und von Wissenschaftler:innen begutachtet. Die Texte stellen die Sichtweise der Autor:innen dar und sind nicht innerhalb aller beteiligten Organisationen abgestimmt.     Die Monomere Ethen und Propen gehören zu den wichtigsten Grundbausteinen der chemischen Industrie. Die zahlreichen Einsatzmöglichkeiten dieser kurzkettigen Alkene sorgen dafür, dass der Bedarf stetig steigt. Um diesen decken zu können, werden Olefine durch diverse Syntheserouten großtechnisch hergestellt. Das Steamcracken und katalytische Cracken (FCC) von Naphtha oder Ethan gehören zu den am meisten verbreiteten Verfahren, um leichte Olefine zu synthetisieren. Diese Technologien sind allerdings mit einigen Nachteilen, wie zum Beispiel einem relativ hohen Energieverbrauch und einer geringen Selektivität für bestimmte Olefine verbunden. Endliche Erdölreserven und steigende Erdölpreise führen schlussendlich zur Entwicklung neuartiger Synthesemethoden für leichte Olefine über nachhaltige Rohstoffe speziell für Produktionsanlagen, die nicht völlig rückintegriert zu Raffinerien oder Steamcracker sind. Ethen, Propen und Butene können auch selektiv aus den korrespondierenden Alkanen durch Dehydrierung erhalten werden. Der Vorteil der selektiven Dehydrierung besteht darin, dass kein kompliziertes Produktgemisch vorliegt und die Reaktion somit nicht mit einer aufwendigen Produkttrennung verbunden ist. Die Dehydrierung von Propan zu Propen ist mit einer erheblichen Wertsteigerung am Markt verbunden und wird bereits vielfältig eingesetzt. Ethan kommt als große Nebenkomponente im preiswerten Erdgas vor. Es ist daher interessant, Ethan zu dehydrieren und anschließend in situ zu Propen und Butenen zu dimerisieren. Neben der Dehydrierung von Ethan kann Ethen aber auch aus Ethanol hergestellt werden. Durch die Dehydratisierung von Ethanol kann Ethen aus nachwachsenden Rohstoffen, wie zum Beispiel aus zucker- oder stärkehaltigen Materialien oder auch aus Lignocellulose hergestellt werden. Über Fermentation und anschließende Aufreinigung ist Bioethanol leicht aus Korn, Zuckerrohr und Cellulose zugänglich. Zeolithe werden als azide, feste Katalysatoren in der chemischen Industrie eingesetzt. Diverse Porenarchitekturen und unterschiedliche Dimensionalitäten ermöglichen eine sehr gute Steuerung der Selektivität in Bezug auf ein erwünschtes Produkt. Über das Silizium zu Aluminium-Verhältnis kann die Anzahl der sauren Zentren angepasst und können säurekatalysierte Reaktionen beeinflusst werden. Die einfache Herstellung sowie Abtrennung des Katalysators aus dem Produktgemisch sorgen dafür, dass feste Katalysatoren, insbesondere Zeolithe, einen hohen Stellenwert in der Industrie haben. Deshalb werden sie in dieser Arbeit als Katalysatoren verwendet. Der Schwerpunkt dieser Arbeit liegt in der Untersuchung von Verfahren zur Produktion leichter Olefine aus Ethan und Ethanol. Je nachdem welche Reaktionsbedingungen bei der oder bei der Dehydrierung gewählt werden, ist Ethen das Hauptprodukt. Die anschließende Oligomerisierung von Ethen zu Propen, Butenen oder sogar zu BTX-Aromaten ist hingegen eine Herausforderung. Im ersten Teil dieser Arbeit wird Dehydratisierung die Dehydratisierung von Ethanol zu leichten Olefinen untersucht. Hierbei wird die Abhängigkeit des Produktspektrums von Zeolithen mit unterschiedlicher Dimensionalität und Porengröße ermittelt. Anschließend wird die Abhängigkeit der Olefinausbeute von der Partikelgröße untersucht und das Produktspektrum der Dehydrierung von Ethan über den Einsatz ausgewählter Metalle optimiert. Die eingesetzten Zeolithe werden je nach gewünschter Porenarchitektur und Dimensionalität synthetisiert und entsprechend physikochemisch charakterisiert.

    Die Überschätzung der Zahlungsbereitschaft in rein hypothetischen Entscheidungssituationen ist ein in der Literatur wohlbekanntes Phänomen. Zur Eliminierung dieser Verzerrung wurden verschiedene Methoden vorgeschlagen, unter anderen der sogenannte Cheap-Talk-Ansatz und das Consequential-Skript. Auf Basis einer Erhebung unter mehr als 6.500 deutschen Haushalten untersucht dieser Beitrag die Effektivität dieser Korrektive. Nach unseren ökonometrischen Ergebnissen erweist sich allein Cheap Talk als effektiv, senkt jedoch die Zahlungsbereitschaft für grünen Strom nur bei jenen Befragten, die sich nicht ganz sicher hinsichtlich ihrer Angaben zur Zahlungsbereitschaft sind. Darüber hinaus zeigen unsere Befragungsergebnisse einen starken Kontrast zwischen der Unterstützung für erneuerbare Energien und der Zahlungsbereitschaft für grünen Strom. So sprechen sich 85,1% der Antwortenden für die Förderung erneuerbarer Energietechnologien aus, aber nur knapp die Hälfte der Antwortenden ist bereit, für grünen Strom zusätzliche Kosten in Kauf zu nehmen.     The project CLIMB (Climate Induced Changes on the Hydrology of Mediterranean Basins – Reducing Uncertainty and Quantifying Risk through an Integrated Monitoring and Modelling System, www.climb-fp7.eu) aims to investigate present and future climate induced changes in the hydrological budgets and extremes for Mediterranean and neighbouring countries. We provide a concept for an integrated modelling and assessment set-up to tackle the challenge of quantifying parameter related uncertainties and associated risks with the water balance simulation model ETH (WaSiM-ETH) for the cultivation of tomatoes in Chiba basin, Tunisia, which is a test site within the CLIMB project. This study indicates that it is already delicate to cultivate tomatoes in the watershed under rain-fed conditions with a deteriorating trend in the future. This is associated with considerable yield reduction for tomatoes and thus economic impacts for local farmers.

    The replacement of internal combustion engines by electric motors has been identified as a way to achieve widely-accepted international climate protection goals. Especially in the material handling sector, vehicles with electric drives have gained increasing market acceptance over the past decades. However, the electrification of counterbalanced forklift trucks with high tonnages requires batteries with extended energy capacity. Higher energy capacity usually correlates with higher volume-to-surface ratios resulting in decreased heat dissipation and, therefore, increased average operating temperatures of the commonly used lead acid batteries. As a consequence, battery lifetime is greatly reduced. Without design changes, one possibility for avoiding high operating temperatures is an adapted battery management strategy. This thesis reports on results obtained with flooded lead acid batteries, demonstrating that, with management strategies which include operation in a partial state of charge, energy efficiencies can be increased from about 0.7 to about 0.85 with minimal impact on lifetime.

    Auf der Suche nach Lösungen für die soziale, ökologische und ökonomische Krise, explorierte die Autorin sozialökologische Ansätze und die Bedeutung der sozialen Dimension der Nachhaltigkeit. Wie entstehen sozial und ökologisch nachhaltige Organisationsstrukturen? Aus Nachhaltigkeitsansätzen wurde ein „Prinzipienkatalog“ zusammengestellt anhand dessen sieben sozialökologische Gemeinschaften und Ökodörfer ausgewählt und mittels je mehrwöchigen teilnehmenden Beobachtungsbesuchen beforscht wurden. Die Umsetzung ihrer Visionen wurde exploriert und ihre Praktiken auf innovative Methoden sozial-ökologisch nachhaltiger Lebensweise ausgewertet. Ergebnis ist eine Zusammenhangsanalyse der Methoden zum Aufbau und Erhalt zukunftsfähiger Sozialwesen: eine werteorientierte Basis, Methoden effektiver Entscheidungsfindungsprozesse, Pflege gemeinschaftlicher Nachbarschaft und Basis nachhaltiger Wirtschaftsmethoden – ein Methodenset zur Anregungen für die Praxis auch in anderen gesellschaftlichen Kontexten. Has modernity killed “community”? What is the social dimension of sustainability and why is community relevant for it? After discussing sociological theories and Communitarian efforts the author generates criteria of sustainable living from contemporary research. For empirical study worthwhile communities were selected according to the criteria. Do intentional communities offer realistic solutions to the ecological, social and economic crises? Do they realize their ambitious visions? In participant observation during several week-long visits in seven intentional communities (mainly in Germany) the cases were specified as “living laboratories” of communal and ecological living. The most innovative methods in sustainable living combining individual freedom and communal cooperation were identified and described in the areas of membership governance, decision making, and communication to show transferrable methods to other communities and groups.

    Wissenschaftler:innen beschreiben auf Basis aktueller Forschungsergebnisse und Studien, wie eine nachhaltige Welt aussehen könnte. Dies ist keine Vorhersage oder Modellierung, sondern es sind Beschreibungen dieser Welt von Menschen, die sich intensiv mit Lösungsmöglichkeiten beschäftigen. Neben einem Weiter-so-Bild (Titel: „Langsam“) werden daher drei verschiedene Zukünfte geschildert (Titel: „Groß“, „Fokussiert“ und „Graswurzel“). Diese benennen auch Beispiele der Maßnahmen mit denen soziale Ziele erreicht und planetare Grenzen (zum Beispiel Pariser Klimaziele oder Biodiversitätsziele) eingehalten werden können. Die hier bereitgestellten Texte wurden von unabhängigen Wissenschaftler:innen geprüft (wissenschaftliches Review). Nach einer journalistischen Bearbeitung sollen sie auch einem nichtwissenschaftlichen Publikum zugänglich gemacht werden. Diese Datei dokumentiert nur eine (von über 40) perspektivischen und thematischen Facetten in einem (von vier) Zukunftsbilderrahmen. Andere Texte finden sich in der community ‘Zukunftsbilder’.

    Der Bericht enthält den aktuellen Wissensstand zu Dürreindizes für die Anwendung in Sachsen. Dafür werden mehr als 100 Indizes aus den Gebieten Meteorologie, Hydrologie und Landwirtschaft sowie kombinierte Indizes charakterisiert. Berechnungen ausgewählter meteorologischer Dürreindizes für fünf Klimamessstationen und Modellierungen der Bodenfeuchte werden verglichen. Danach sind z. B. niederschlagsbasierte Indizes für Sachsen deutlich aussagekräftiger als rein temperaturbasierte. Die Veröffentlichung richtet sich an regionale Akteure sowie Planungsbüros, Bildungseinrichtungen und Unternehmen.

    Der Erfolg der Photovoltaik in Deutschland und der Welt basiert derzeit auf der indirekten Subventionierung durch das Erneuerbare-Energien-Gesetz (EEG) und vergleichbare Instrumente in anderen Regionen. Auch unter der Prämisse, dass der derzeitige Gestehungspreis für konventionell erzeugte Elektrizität die realen Kosten, bedingt durch mögliche zukünftige Umweltschäden und Ressourcenknappheit, nur unzureichend widerspiegelt, sind weitere Kostensenkungen in der Produktion unabdingbar. Durch den hohen Kostenanteil der Wafer am Modul liegt in der Waferfertigung das größte Kostensenkungspotential. Die Vereinzelung feuchter Siliziumwafer ist aus Durchsatz- und Qualitätsaspekten ein wichtiger Schritt in der Fertigung. Durch die hohe Bruchgefahr bei der Handhabung von Wafern kann die Vereinzelung auch wesentlich zur Kostenreduktion beitragen. Die in Literatur und Patenten beschriebenen Verfahren sind derzeit noch nicht in einem ausgereiften Zustand, um die Vereinzelung von Wafern sicher und zuverlässig durchzuführen. Daher sind weitere Anstrengungen in Forschung und Entwicklung nötig, um die derzeitigen und zukünftigen Anforderungen zu erfüllen. Gleichzeitig muss das Verständnis über die Vorgänge bei der Vereinzelung sowie die Einflüsse auf den Wafer weiter vertieft werden. Insbesondere das Schädigungspotential der Vereinzelung auf den Wafer bestimmt die Auslegung eines solchen Systems in besonderem Maße. Die vorliegende Arbeit analysiert zunächst die Ausgangssituation in der derzeitigen Waferproduktion. Die Umgebung in der Waferproduktion ist geprägt durch eine Vielzahl von Einflüssen, besonders durch flüssige Betriebsstoffe wie der Slurry oder auch den Reinigungsmedien. Die zu vereinzelnden Wafer sind fragile und spröde Substrate welche in dieser Umgebung verarbeitet werden müssen. Entsprechend vielseitig ist der derzeitige Stand der Technik zur Vereinzelung, welcher größtenteils in Patentschriften beschrieben ist. Zur weiteren Entwicklung eines Vereinzelungsverfahrens wird die Aufgabe weiter analysiert. Durch Versuche in einer realen Fertigungsumgebung erscheint die Vereinzelung vom Stapel als vielversprechender Ansatz. Die Fragilität des Substrats führt zu der Überlegung, Flüssigkeitsstrahlen zur Vereinzelung der Wafer einzusetzen. Damit soll eine schonende Handhabung der Wafer erzielt werden. Das Prinzip dieser Vereinzelung vom Stapel wird dann zunächst in einem Modell beschrieben und entsprechend berechnet. Zur Überprüfung und Validierung des Modells wird zunächst ein Versuchsstand entwickelt an welchem die Einflüsse der Flüssigkeitsstrahlen auf den Wafer detailliert untersucht werden k¨onnen. Die Erkenntnisse aus dem Betrieb des Versuchsstandes fließen in die Konstruktion eines Prototypen ein. Gleichzeitig können die Einstellungen des Prototypen anhand der Ergebnisse aus den Versuchsreihen initial eingestellt werden. Die Tests mit dem Prototypen zeigen eine prinzipielle Machbarkeit des Verfahrens. Weiterer Bedarf in Forschung und Entwicklung liegt in der Optimierung von Verfahren im industriellen Umfeld. Eine hohe Zuverlässigkeit bei der Vereinzelung bei gleichzeitig störungsunempfindlichem Betrieb sind dabei wichtige Indikatoren für den Erfolg von Vereinzelungsverfahren. Technologisch kommen weitere Anforderungen auf die Waferbehandlung zu. Der Trend zu dünneren Wafern (kleiner als 180- 210 µm) ist derzeit durch die gesunkenen Kosten f¨ur das reine Silizium nicht mehr der zentrale Fokus der Entwicklung. Sobald jedoch weitere Kostensenkungspotentiale an anderer Stelle realisiert werden können, wird die Dicke der Wafer vermutlich wieder an Bedeutung zunehmen. Möglicherweise werden auch größere Waferformate (gröoßer 200mm Kantenlänge) in Zukunft in die Massenfertigung eingeführt werden. Die Verfahren und Anlagen müssen dann entsprechend angepasst werden. Eine weitere einflussreiche Entwicklung kann die Umstellung Slurry-basierter Trennverfahren auf alternative Technologien darstellen. Insbesondere das Sägen mit Diamantdraht (mit Industriediamanten besetzter Schneidedraht) wird die Vereinzelung vor neue Herausforderungen stellen, da sich die Oberflächeneigenschaften damit ändern. The separation of crystalline photovoltaic wafer after sawing is an important but difficult automation challenge. In wafer manufacturing, wafers are cut out of an ingot with a wire saw. A slurry mainly based on glycol and silicon carbide is typically used as the abrasive medium. The ingots are glued to a plate. After the wafers are cut out, they are still glued to the plate. In many factories the wafers are separated manually. However due to reasons of costs, quality and the dimensions of the wafers, an automation solution is highly desirable. This thesis presents experiments to define pre-conditions and requirements for an automated separation process. Based on this requirements a model is developed which leads to a possible solution for the implementation. The thesis concludes with the description of a prototype equipment and the conducted tests.

    Wir schätzen Natur. Nicht nur weil sie uns nützt, sondern auch als Wert an sich. Auch Tiere haben Rechte. Wir leben, wirtschaften und entwickeln neue Technologien heutzutage immer mit Blick auf die Auswirkungen auf die Natur. – Projekt Zukunftsbilder: Wissenschaftler:innen stellen auf Basis aktueller Forschungsergebnisse und Studien dar, wie eine nachhaltige Welt aussehen könnte. Dieser Text beschreibt eine von über 40 Facetten des Lebens und Wirtschaftens in einem von vier Zukunftsbildern. Weitere Texte finden sich in der Zenodo-Community des Projekts ‘Zukunftsbilder’. Neben einem Weiter-so-Bild (Titel: „Langsam“) werden drei verschiedene positive Zukünfte geschildert (Titel: „Groß“, „Fokussiert“ und „Graswurzel“), die soziale Ziele erreichen und planetare Grenzen (zum Beispiel die Pariser Klimaziele oder Biodiversitätsziele) einhalten. Unsere Texte sind keine formellen wissenschaftlichen Zukunftsszenarien, sondern Beschreibungen von möglichen Zukünften. Sie wurden gemeinsam von Wissenschaftler:innen und Menschen aus sozialen Bewegungen erarbeitet und von Wissenschaftler:innen begutachtet. Die Texte stellen die Sichtweise der Autor:innen dar und sind nicht innerhalb aller beteiligten Organisationen abgestimmt.     Die Monomere Ethen und Propen gehören zu den wichtigsten Grundbausteinen der chemischen Industrie. Die zahlreichen Einsatzmöglichkeiten dieser kurzkettigen Alkene sorgen dafür, dass der Bedarf stetig steigt. Um diesen decken zu können, werden Olefine durch diverse Syntheserouten großtechnisch hergestellt. Das Steamcracken und katalytische Cracken (FCC) von Naphtha oder Ethan gehören zu den am meisten verbreiteten Verfahren, um leichte Olefine zu synthetisieren. Diese Technologien sind allerdings mit einigen Nachteilen, wie zum Beispiel einem relativ hohen Energieverbrauch und einer geringen Selektivität für bestimmte Olefine verbunden. Endliche Erdölreserven und steigende Erdölpreise führen schlussendlich zur Entwicklung neuartiger Synthesemethoden für leichte Olefine über nachhaltige Rohstoffe speziell für Produktionsanlagen, die nicht völlig rückintegriert zu Raffinerien oder Steamcracker sind. Ethen, Propen und Butene können auch selektiv aus den korrespondierenden Alkanen durch Dehydrierung erhalten werden. Der Vorteil der selektiven Dehydrierung besteht darin, dass kein kompliziertes Produktgemisch vorliegt und die Reaktion somit nicht mit einer aufwendigen Produkttrennung verbunden ist. Die Dehydrierung von Propan zu Propen ist mit einer erheblichen Wertsteigerung am Markt verbunden und wird bereits vielfältig eingesetzt. Ethan kommt als große Nebenkomponente im preiswerten Erdgas vor. Es ist daher interessant, Ethan zu dehydrieren und anschließend in situ zu Propen und Butenen zu dimerisieren. Neben der Dehydrierung von Ethan kann Ethen aber auch aus Ethanol hergestellt werden. Durch die Dehydratisierung von Ethanol kann Ethen aus nachwachsenden Rohstoffen, wie zum Beispiel aus zucker- oder stärkehaltigen Materialien oder auch aus Lignocellulose hergestellt werden. Über Fermentation und anschließende Aufreinigung ist Bioethanol leicht aus Korn, Zuckerrohr und Cellulose zugänglich. Zeolithe werden als azide, feste Katalysatoren in der chemischen Industrie eingesetzt. Diverse Porenarchitekturen und unterschiedliche Dimensionalitäten ermöglichen eine sehr gute Steuerung der Selektivität in Bezug auf ein erwünschtes Produkt. Über das Silizium zu Aluminium-Verhältnis kann die Anzahl der sauren Zentren angepasst und können säurekatalysierte Reaktionen beeinflusst werden. Die einfache Herstellung sowie Abtrennung des Katalysators aus dem Produktgemisch sorgen dafür, dass feste Katalysatoren, insbesondere Zeolithe, einen hohen Stellenwert in der Industrie haben. Deshalb werden sie in dieser Arbeit als Katalysatoren verwendet. Der Schwerpunkt dieser Arbeit liegt in der Untersuchung von Verfahren zur Produktion leichter Olefine aus Ethan und Ethanol. Je nachdem welche Reaktionsbedingungen bei der oder bei der Dehydrierung gewählt werden, ist Ethen das Hauptprodukt. Die anschließende Oligomerisierung von Ethen zu Propen, Butenen oder sogar zu BTX-Aromaten ist hingegen eine Herausforderung. Im ersten Teil dieser Arbeit wird Dehydratisierung die Dehydratisierung von Ethanol zu leichten Olefinen untersucht. Hierbei wird die Abhängigkeit des Produktspektrums von Zeolithen mit unterschiedlicher Dimensionalität und Porengröße ermittelt. Anschließend wird die Abhängigkeit der Olefinausbeute von der Partikelgröße untersucht und das Produktspektrum der Dehydrierung von Ethan über den Einsatz ausgewählter Metalle optimiert. Die eingesetzten Zeolithe werden je nach gewünschter Porenarchitektur und Dimensionalität synthetisiert und entsprechend physikochemisch charakterisiert.
