Research data keyboard_double_arrow_right Dataset 2021 European UnionPublisher:Scottish Government SpatialData.gov.scot The Scotland Heat Map provides estimates of annual heat demand for almost 3 million properties in Scotland. Demand is given in kilowatt-hours per year (kWh/yr). Property level estimates can be combined to give values for various geographies. Both domestic and non-domestic properties are included. This raster dataset gives the total estimated heat demand of properties within 250m x 250m grid squares covering all of Scotland. Heat demand is calculated by combining data from a number of sources, ensuring that the most appropriate data available is used for each property. The data can be used by local authorities and others to identify or inform opportunities for low carbon heat projects such as district heat networks. The Scotland Heat Map is produced by the Scottish Government. The most recent version is the Scotland Heat Map 2022, which was released to local authorities in November 2023. The Blind Test was performed with an extensive dataset gathered while testing a cluster of three scaled wind turbines within a large boundary layer wind tunnel. The experimental dataset has been compared against the predictions provided by 5 different control-oriented wind farm flow models. The resulting comparison is described in the paper "FarmConners Wind Farm Flow Control Benchmark: Blind Test Results, Part 2", by Campagnolo et al, (2023). The dataset consists of: measurements of the flow within the wake shed by one or two machines, as well as measurements of the power, loads (on the rotating shaft and at tower base), and pitch/yaw/torque actuators states of the three scaled machines. The measurements have been performed under a wide range of inflow and machines operating conditions. The time series of the measured data are provided in the format of Matlab structures saved in .mat files. Predictions provided by the models used by the Blind Test participants Matlab scripts used for comparing the experimental dataset and the numerical predictions provided by the Blind Test participants Additional data provided to the Blind Test participants. This includes a FAST model of the scaled wind turbine and the mapping of the inflow of the empty wind tunnel.

As part of Work Package 3 (WP3) in the FULFILL project, we collected quantitative data from six countries: Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, and India. The first round of the survey, consisted of recruiting a representative sample of approximately 2000 households in each country. In this second survey round, we recruit around 500 respondents from the initial survey round, ensuring representativity is maintained. This survey is very similar to the survey in the first round and includes a lot of identical items, including a quantitative assessment of the carbon footprint in the housing, mobility, and diet sectors, socio-economic factors such as age, gender, income, education, household size, life stage, and political orientation. Furthermore, the survey includes measures of quality of life, encompassing aspects such as health and well-being, environmental quality, financial security, and comfort. New for this second round, we have incorporated questions regarding the measures respondents adopted in response to the 2022 energy crisis.

The results indicate that, when the function of repurposed materials is as good as that of conventional materials, consumers prefer a product made from repurposed materials over the same product made from conventional materials. Also, consumers in general prefer repurposed materials to be less visually distinguishable. Finally, when the sustainability of the repurposed products is emphasized, consumers appear more likely to choose products made from repurposed materials, even when these products have an inferior function. In conclusion, to promote fashion products made from repurposed materials, marketers may emphasize the function and sustainability of repurposed materials, and producers may manufacture repurposed materials that visually resemble conventional materials.

Research data keyboard_double_arrow_right Dataset 2021 European UnionPublisher:Scottish Government SpatialData.gov.scot The Scotland Heat Map provides estimates of annual heat demand for almost 3 million properties in Scotland. Demand is given in kilowatt-hours per year (kWh/yr). Property level estimates can be combined to give values for various geographies. Both domestic and non-domestic properties are included. This raster dataset gives the total estimated heat demand of properties within 250m x 250m grid squares covering all of Scotland. Heat demand is calculated by combining data from a number of sources, ensuring that the most appropriate data available is used for each property. The data can be used by local authorities and others to identify or inform opportunities for low carbon heat projects such as district heat networks. The Scotland Heat Map is produced by the Scottish Government. The most recent version is the Scotland Heat Map 2022, which was released to local authorities in November 2023. The Blind Test was performed with an extensive dataset gathered while testing a cluster of three scaled wind turbines within a large boundary layer wind tunnel. The experimental dataset has been compared against the predictions provided by 5 different control-oriented wind farm flow models. The resulting comparison is described in the paper "FarmConners Wind Farm Flow Control Benchmark: Blind Test Results, Part 2", by Campagnolo et al, (2023). The dataset consists of: measurements of the flow within the wake shed by one or two machines, as well as measurements of the power, loads (on the rotating shaft and at tower base), and pitch/yaw/torque actuators states of the three scaled machines. The measurements have been performed under a wide range of inflow and machines operating conditions. The time series of the measured data are provided in the format of Matlab structures saved in .mat files. Predictions provided by the models used by the Blind Test participants Matlab scripts used for comparing the experimental dataset and the numerical predictions provided by the Blind Test participants Additional data provided to the Blind Test participants. This includes a FAST model of the scaled wind turbine and the mapping of the inflow of the empty wind tunnel.

As part of Work Package 3 (WP3) in the FULFILL project, we collected quantitative data from six countries: Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, and India. The first round of the survey, consisted of recruiting a representative sample of approximately 2000 households in each country. In this second survey round, we recruit around 500 respondents from the initial survey round, ensuring representativity is maintained. This survey is very similar to the survey in the first round and includes a lot of identical items, including a quantitative assessment of the carbon footprint in the housing, mobility, and diet sectors, socio-economic factors such as age, gender, income, education, household size, life stage, and political orientation. Furthermore, the survey includes measures of quality of life, encompassing aspects such as health and well-being, environmental quality, financial security, and comfort. New for this second round, we have incorporated questions regarding the measures respondents adopted in response to the 2022 energy crisis.

Yet, it is currently unclear how consumers respond to products made from repurposed materials. We conducted three experiments to examine the effects of three material features, namely function, sustainability, and distinguishability, on consumer preferences for fashion products made from repurposed materials. The results indicate that, when the function of repurposed materials is as good as that of conventional materials, consumers prefer a product made from repurposed materials over the same product made from conventional materials. Also, consumers in general prefer repurposed materials to be less visually distinguishable. Finally, when the sustainability of the repurposed products is emphasized, consumers appear more likely to choose products made from repurposed materials, even when these products have an inferior function. In conclusion, to promote fashion products made from repurposed materials, marketers may emphasize the function and sustainability of repurposed materials, and producers may manufacture repurposed materials that visually resemble conventional materials.
