For further information contact us at helpdesk@openaire.eudescription Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Conference object 2010 SpainPublisher:Unpublished Authors: Viñolas Prat, Bernat; Fuente Antequera, Albert de la; Aguado de Cea, Antonio;This article presents a part of UPC´s study about the sustainability analysis of 8 drainage pipes (four alternatives made concrete with 400 mm, 800 mm, 1200 mm and 2000 mm of diameter and four alternatives made plastic with the same diameters). MIVE’s methodology –Integrated Value Model Sustainability Evaluation- (Aguado, Manga and Ormazábal, 2006) was used in this study and a comparative analysis of sustainability index of each concrete alternative versus each plastic alternative was performed. In total 14 indicators which divided into 4 main areas: functional, economic, social and environmental were considered. This article focuses on two indicators that are evaluated in relation to structural design: the additional mechanical capacity and raw material consumption during execution. These two indicators are closely related especially when it comes to flexible pipes (Polypropylene, Polyethylene, Polyvinyl chloride). The structural capacity of flexible pipes is mainly given by the type of trench, and the type of land used for filling and compacting it. That is, any surface loading is resisted by the system of ground-structure interaction. The structural calculation was carried out following the German guideline ATV-127 (Guidelines for the mechanical calculation of pipes and sewage pipes). This guideline is used to study both flexible and rigid pipelines and it is implemented together with other guides in the Análisis Mecánico de Tuberías Enterradas program (AMTE). Additional mechanical capacity (capacity increase over specified capacity) of each pipe alternatives has been calculated based on several parameters: height of fill, fill type and degree of compaction of the fill. The conclusions reached once calculations have been performed with all the aforementioned constraints are the following: 1) The types of filling and compaction rate have an influence on the additional mechanical capacity of the pipe. This influence is enhanced when using plastic pipe because the land contributes 85% of the total resistance to ground-tube set on average. By contrast, in concrete pipes (rigid pipes) the land provides only a 15 % of the resistance. 2) The influence of filling and compaction rate increases with increasing the diameter of pipe.

Tadeo Rico, Fernando Juan in OpenAIREEl artículo trata sobre el diseño de una estrategia de control en una plataforma que produce hidrógeno a partir de la energía del viento y de las olas de mar en alta mar localizada en el Océano Atlántico. Se considera la generación de la energía mediante energías renovables como la fuente energética que alimenta a un conjunto de electrolizadores, teniendo en cuenta la energía disponible y optimizando la operación de la planta. Se presentan los resultados de las simulaciones, mostrando la correcta operación de la plataforma bajo el control propuesto.

[ES]Se analiza después la evolución de la radiación solar global en Girona desde principios de los 90 a la actualidad, enmarcando los resultados en el incremento de radiación solar observado en España durante este periodo. Se ha encontrado que en los últimos 20 años (1994-2013), la radiación solar global media anual ha aumentado a un ritmo de 3.6 Wm-2 por década; buena parte de este aumento se debe a lo que ocurre en verano, con una tendencia de 9.1 Wm-2 por década. Estos valores son consistentes con lo que se ha observado en el entorno regional (Península Ibérica y sur de Francia). [EN]The evolution of the global solar radiation in Girona is then analysed from the early 1990s up to today, in the framework of the observed increase of solar radiation in Spain during this period. It is found that in the last 20 years (1994-2013), the annual average global solar radiation has increased at a rate of 3.6 Wm-2 per decade; much of this increase is due to what happens in summer, with a trend of 9.1 Wm-2 per decade. These values are consistent with what has been observed in the regional environment (Iberian Peninsula and southern France). Sin embargo, las energías renovables no están exentas de problemas medioambientales, y factores como la ocupación del territorio y el impacto visual hacen que su aceptación social disminuya. En el caso de la energía eólica, la disposición de los aerogeneradores queda condicionada por la intermitencia en la dirección e intensidad del viento, lo que complica la reducción del impacto visual de los parques eólicos y, por tanto, su aceptación social. Debido a la complejidad de los escenarios en los que se sitúan estas instalaciones, existe una gran diversidad de metodologías para optimizar su integración en el paisaje, pero no hay una metodología generalizada que considere que la población debe jugar un papel importante en su desarrollo. Para conocer y valorar el impacto visual que genera el parque eólico "La Plata", se han aplicado tres metodologías: una basada en la valoración cualitativa de los escenarios de población, otra en el uso de Sistemas de Información Geográfica (SIG) y la última a través de cuestionarios, comprobando así la equidad en los resultados de las tres metodologías. Aplicadas las tres metodologías y comparando los resultados, todas ellas coinciden en la valoración del impacto visual negativo en el paisaje del parque eólico ?La Plata?, si bien la metodología que se apoya en el uso de cuestionarios incide directamente en la percepción de la población de este impacto, y discierne sus principales problemas. Para determinar la situación del arbolado propuesto se ha utilizado un SIG seleccionando las áreas prioritarias y así evaluar la reducción del impacto visual producido.
