Several research projects have demonstrated the benefits of lime-treated soils for the construction or reinforcement of dikes. This treatment allows the use of local soils and it improves the mechanical properties and the erosion resistance compared to untreated soil. In particular, the enhanced erosion resistance enables designers to propose new structural designs. In this context, ICOLD Bulletin n°195 “Cemented Soil Dams” was finalized in 2022 to establish a framework for soil treatment in hydraulic works. The bulletin includes various case studies in its appendices. However, the long-term evolution of treated soil properties remains an insufficiently documented subject. The literature contains several references to medium and long-term studies confirming that the performance acquired through treatment endures over time. Most of these studies were conducted in laboratories, with a few on actual structures, and only few of them include data on erosion resistance. The test campaigns carried out in 2021 and 2023 at the DigueELITE and Salin de Giraud experimental sites, five years after their construction, provide some information. Previous publications have demonstrated that both structures offer greater resistance to overflow erosion than untreated soil. In-situ JET erosion tests were carried out at both sites, along with sampling of intact materials to complement laboratory data with HET tests and chemical characterization. On both structures which have been exposed to environmental conditions for over five years, in particular a hot and dry climate, the erosion resistance performance of the treated soils was superior to that of the untreated soil. Chemical characterizations reveal soil-atmosphere interaction within depth lower than 20 cm, explaining the slight loss of performance at the slope surface.

The exhibition "Les levées de tête du Marais poitevin - Voyage sur des digues vivantes" was conceived as a deliverable in the framework of the ANR DIGUES research project (2019-2023). It presents the results of a landscape analysis, an ethnoecological survey, a survey of risk perception, a historical survey and, finally, a prospective study based on three scenarios for the evolution of the dike system, between maintaining, opening up and reinforcing the dikes. The study area concerns a set of river dikes upstream of the polderized sectors of the Marais Poitevin (Vendée, Charente-Maritime (France)). These dykes, erected from the 17th century onwards, have the particularity of having been deliberately wooded (mainly with ash, a tree used to produce firewood) and made habitable (for surveillance and maintenance). At a time when Chalara fraxinea, a pathology affecting ash populations in Europe, is on the rise, and the impact of climate change on the wetlands, which are both close to the coast and subject to flooding in the Sèvre Niortaise watershed, is uncertain, this research bears witness to the diversity of uses that affect these dykes, as well as their hybrid character as artificial objects, heritage and living environment. This research, which is both retrospective and prospective, offers local populations and decision-makers a basis for preparing the territory for disruptions (opening or reinforcing dykes) while preserving the multifunctionality of spaces and landscapes.

Cheviron, Stéphanie in OpenAIREScientific work is much more than just publications. Indeed, unpublished failures and experiments represent a real wealth of unexploited knowledge. Storing and disseminating this research data helps to underpin successes, remember errors and reveal ideas that have yet to be explored. Saving, referencing and exposing this data is a guarantee of sustainability and traceability, on which the scientific method based on reproducibility and reuse of the results is based. In the context of open science, the University of Strasbourg is investing in the development of the POUNT platform, a free, modular and interoperable knowledge access ecosystem: save and version your data (documents, images, videos, 3D models); structure your data in line with the standards of your discipline, and extend these standards with your customised metadata; share your data with a unique identifier, a citation model, configure reading and editing rights for your communities; develop your data and view it seamlessly, enriching it with contextual information and hyperlinks. This article presents the technological basis for implementing these functionalities as well as the underlying infrastructure. It also details the data visualization, based on the example of 3D models. Finally, it describes openness to the community by compliance with standards and distribution of free licence code. The conclusion summarises these functionalities and presents the improvements planned to enable everyone to contribute to the project or deploy their own POUNT platform, capable of interconnecting with each other and with various data sources. Hodencq, Sacha in OpenAIREAbstract : The gap between the ambitions of energy transition, and the observed effects of growth of both inequalities and deterioration of biophysical conditions of Earth habitability urge research in the field of energy modelling to experience a reflexive perspective. The Low-Tech approach, developed but contemporary thinkers and collectives, invite to the critical assessment of our activities, and enable to consider concepts understudied in research work such as energy sufficiency, justice or cosmolocalism. This article introduces this approach through various perspectives and seeks to apply it to energy modelling from the scale of items to that of cities. It opens a variety of research tracks ranging from methodological approaches to use cases. This article also invites to collaboration with a transdisciplinary community: Low-Tech for Research and Teaching.

As part of Work Package 3 (WP3) in the FULFILL project, we collected quantitative data from six countries: Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, and India. In the first round of the survey, we recruited a representative sample of approximately 2000 households in each country, taking into account both the individual and household perspectives. The survey includes a quantitative assessment of the carbon footprint in various domains of life, such as housing, mobility, and diet. In addition to this, the survey also measures socio-economic factors such as age, gender, income, education, household size, life stage, and political orientation. Furthermore, the survey includes measures of quality of life, encompassing aspects such as health and well-being, environmental quality, financial security, and comfort.
