This was proven in a large class of models for energies that do not grow too fast with the system size. Considering the example of the generalized random energy model, we show that the conjecture breaks down for energies proportional to the volume of the system, and describe the far more complex behavior that then sets in.

These networks need to be be engineered in terms of cost, energy and spectral efficiency, number of connected devices and latency. Cognitive Radio (CR) is one of the promising techniques to meet the above mentioned requirements that operates at microwave frequencies and exploits underutilized spectrum bands. Universal Filtered Multi-Carrier (UFMC) is a new channel judgment method that use multicarrier modulation scheme. UFMC is consider like an applicant for the 5th Generation of wireless communication systems and replaces OFDM .Latest research indicates that cellular networks are better operated with the novel UFMC with enhanced performance in terms of improved spectral efficiency, less usage of energy as well as latency. However, an emerging area of Information and Communication technology (ICT) are Cognitive radio based Sensor Networks (CSNs). Even basic observations using empirical approach can reveal important observations, especially if the above mentioned latest channel estimation technique (UFMC) , is tried and observed for CSNs. The option of CSNs as test bed is based on abundant use of the supporting in various social and military setups. In this work, part of frequency synchronization and channel estimation are explore and correlate with OFDM and UFMC systems with CSNs as testbed, primarily with a computer-aided software simulator and also with real time experimentation in special laboratory if resources permit.

We show that, below the critical temperature, if we consider a time-scale that diverges with the system size in such a way that equilibrium is almost, but not quite reached on that scale, a suitably defined autocorrelation function has the same asymptotic behaviour than its analog in the trap model.

This model deals with corner solutions in a manner consistent with the firm behavior theory while controlling for unobserved heterogeneity. In this model, energy demand at industrial plant level is the result of a discrete choice of the type of the energy to be consumed and a continuous choice that defines the level of demand. The econometric model is, essentially, an endogenous switching regime model which requires the evaluation of multivariate probability integrals. We estimate the random effect model by maximum likelihood using a panel of industrial French plants from the paper and pulp industry. We calculate empirical price elasticities of energy demand from the model. We also study the effects on energy demand of an environmental policy aimed at reducing CO2 emissions.

Using the martingale approach of Comets and Neveu as used in the standard SK model combined with truncation techniques inspired by a recent paper by Talagrand on the $p$-spin version, we prove that (for $p$ even) the random corrections to the free energy are on a scale $N^-(p-2)/4$ only, and after proper rescaling converge to a standard Gaussian random variable. This is shown to hold for all values of the inverse temperature, $b$, smaller than a critical $b_p$. We also show that $b_prightarrow sqrt2ln 2$ as $puparrow +infty$. Additionally we study the formal $puparrow +infty$ limit of these models, the random energy model. Here we compute the precise limit theorem for the partition function at it all temperatures. For $b< sqrt2ln2$, fluctuations are found at an it exponentially small scale, with two distinct limit laws above and below a second critical value $sqrtln 2/2$: For $b$ up to that value the rescaled fluctuations are Gaussian, while below that there are non-Gaussian fluctuations driven by the Poisson process of the extreme values of the random energies. For $b$ larger than the critical $sqrt2ln 2$, the fluctuations of the logarithm of the partition function are on scale one and are expressed in terms of the Poisson process of extremes. At the critical temperature, the partition function divided by its expectation converges to $1/2$.

We review some rigorous results confirming the validity of this conjecture. In the context of the SK models, we analyse the limits of the validity of the conjecture for energy levels growing with the volume of the system. In the case of the Generalised Random energy model, we give a complete analysis for the behaviour of the local energy statistics at all energy scales. In particular, we show that, in this case, the REM conjecture holds exactly up to energies EN < βcN, where βc is the critical temperature. We also explain the more complex behaviour that sets in at higher energies.

As a consequence, being able to fulfil new requirements and at the same time to provide power efficient chips is nowadays the most important challenge for mobile devices system designers. To tackle this challenge, novel system level performance and power modeling approaches have been proposed allowing hardware/software (HW/SW) architectures to be explored right at the very first steps of a System-on-Chip (SoC) design flow. However, existing solutions have limited support for the power optimization of the memory system (including SDRAM) that may occupy more than 70% of a chip area and consume more than 30% of the total energy. In this paper, we propose a SystemC-TLM-based simulation framework at Electronic System Level (ESL), which is able to support the joint exploration of a SoC architecture and its memory configuration. This new framework helps in optimizing the SoC energy consumption while matching the required performance in terms of power and performance, as well as of memory bandwidth and latency.
