    O objetivo deste artigo é lançar luzes sobre as implicações da mudança climática para as organizações. Para fazer frente a esse debate, são explorados: o conceito de "inteligência ambiental" (IA); as estratégias por meio das quais as organizações fazem frente ao desafio da mudança climática; as oportunidades que explicam a adoção dessas estratégias; e o papel fornecido pela função produção para que tais estratégias possuam o efeito desejado. Por fim, tais conceitos são sistematizados, buscando-se uma integração dos modelos teóricos existentes, até então considerados de maneira estanque.The aim of this paper is to enlighten the implications of climate change for organizations. To deal with this subject, the follow issues are analyzed: concept of environmental intelligence; opportunities which justify the adoption of these strategies, and the main role performed by the production function to implement such strategies. Finally, concepts of prior theoretical models are taken into account.

    Introdução – Os componentes protésicos têm um papel fundamental na eficiência energética da marcha dos indivíduos amputados. Esta é uma área de conhecimento ainda em desenvolvimento, onde a investigação desempenha um papel central. Objectivos – Comparar e analisar o efeito de dois joelhos protésicos, 3R34, monocêntrico modular, de fricção constante, com auxiliar de extensão incorporado (A) e 3R92, monocêntrico modular, com travão de fricção e controlo pneumático da fase de balanço (B) no consumo energético e eficiência da marcha. Metodologia – Um indivíduo do sexo masculino de 27 anos, com amputação transfemural longa, foi sujeito a um protocolo submáximo de avaliação da resposta ao exercício em passadeira rolante (H/P/Cosmos(R) Mercury), através de um sistema de análise de gases breath-by-breath (Cosmed Quark PFT Ergo). Foi efetuado o mesmo protocolo com intervalo de dois dias, primeiro utilizando o joelho A e depois o B. As variáveis analisadas foram o consumo de O2 (VO2), o equivalente metabólico (MET) e a eficiência energética da marcha (Quociente de VO2 esperado de um individuo saudável e o VO2 do individuo em estudo). O esforço percecionado foi medido com a escala RPE de Borg. Resultados – O consumo energético com o joelho A (24,2 ml O2/kg/min; 6,9 MET) foi inferior ao obtido com o joelho B (28,68 ml O2/kg/min; 8,2 MET). A eficiência energética da marcha foi mais elevada para o joelho A (43%) do que para o joelho B (39%). Conclusão – A utilização do joelho A na prótese do indivíduo em estudo resulta numa marcha de menor consumo energético e maior eficiência. No entanto, este valor poderá estar influenciado pelo curto período de adaptação ao joelho B, sendo necessários mais estudos para confirmar os resultados do estudo e a influência deste fator.     The sun has an extremely important role in the existence of human beings, and Brazil has a privileged geographical position to explore sunlight. The union of these two factors favors the use of solar cells for converting solar energy into electricity by photovoltaic technology: it is a great alternative energy source, especially for being a clean one, causing less damage to the environment. This paper addresses the photovoltaic technology with a focus on hospitals, through case studies found in international literature, because hospitals, even running all important services to society, have a potential for pollution capable of causing damage to human health and the environment that is around them. It is estimated that the Brazilian oil reserves are sufficient for twenty-two years. This makes the search for alternative sources for power generation a necessity.

    The sun has an extremely important role in the existence of human beings, and Brazil has a privileged geographical position to explore sunlight. The union of these two factors favors the use of solar cells for converting solar energy into electricity by photovoltaic technology: it is a great alternative energy source, especially for being a clean one, causing less damage to the environment. This paper addresses the photovoltaic technology with a focus on hospitals, through case studies found in international literature, because hospitals, even running all important services to society, have a potential for pollution capable of causing damage to human health and the environment that is around them. It is estimated that the Brazilian oil reserves are sufficient for twenty-two years. This makes the search for alternative sources for power generation a necessity.

    Este trabalho teve como objetivo a produção de lipases por fermentação em estado sólido com microrganismos isolados de dendezeiro (Elaeis guineenses Jacq.). Após prospecção dos microrganismos isolados, destacaram-se pela alta atividade lipolítica o fungo filamentoso Aspergillus sp. (BDA-FI-7) e a bactéria Burkholderia gladioli BRM58833. Os parâmetros para o cultivo por fermentação em estado sólido foram otimizados, sendo as maiores atividades lipolíticas obtidas de 68,5 ± 5,4 e 1096,7 ± 39,3 U.gss-1 (unidades de atividade lipolítica por grama de sólido seco) para o fungo e a bactéria, respectivamente, quando avaliadas pela hidrólise de palmitato de p-nitrofenila. Quando utilizada trioleína como substrato, as maiores atividade lipolíticas encontradas foram de 7,7 ± 0,7 e 374,2 ± 20,4 U.gss-1 para o fungo e a bactéria, respectivamente. Como as atividades obtidas para a lipase bacteriana foram mais promissoras que as do fungo, o restante do estudo foi focado na lipase bacteriana. A análise proteômica do extrato produzido pela bactéria revelou que, para as condições otimizadas de cultivo, são secretadas duas esterases e três lipases verdadeiras. Quando purificada, a lipase BGL mostrou preferência por substratos de cadeia longa sendo a maior atividade lipolítica observada a 50 °C e pH 9. Além disso, a lipase foi resistente a solventes e exibiu uma termoestabilidade expressiva quando comparada a outras lipases, revelando o potencial desta enzima em reações de hidrólise e síntese de ésteres. A síntese de biodiesel foi estudada com o uso dos sólidos fermentados obtidos do cultivo da bactéria. Os maiores teores de ésteres etílicos foram de 67,3 ± 1,7 e 74,7 ± 3,8% em 120 h para as reações em óleo de soja refinado e óleo de palma bruto, respectivamente. Adicionalmente, BGL foi imobilizada e estabilizada por diferentes técnicas e abordagens, resultando em derivados 263,8 e 70,1 vezes mais estáveis à inativação a 60 °C e pH 10, respectivamente. Resultados preliminares na hidrólise de óleo de peixe demonstraram o potencial da técnica de revestimento com polímeros bifuncionais para obtenção de um derivado estável e com maior capacidade catalítica para produção de PUFAs ômega-3, atingindo uma atividade de hidrólise de 0,207 ± 0,002 U.mg-1 . Por fim, BGL foi clonada em Escherichia coli encontrando- se uma atividade lipolítica extracelular de 71,3 ± 1,8 U.mg-1 para as melhores condições de cultivo. The goal of this work was to produce lipases by solid state fermentation with microorganisms isolated from the oil palm tree (Elaeis guineenses Jacq.). When purified, BGL lipase preferred long-chain substrates with the highest lipolytic activity observed at 50 °C and pH 9. In addition, BGL was resistant to solvents and exhibited an expressive thermostability when compared to other lipases, revealing the potential of this enzyme in reactions of hydrolysis and synthesis of esters. The synthesis of biodiesel was studied with use of the fermented solids obtained from the cultivation of the bacterium. The highest levels of ethyl esters were 67.3 ± 1.7 and 74.7 ± 3.8% in 120 h for the reactions in refined soybean oil and crude palm oil, respectively. Additionally, BGL was immobilized and stabilized by different techniques and approaches, resulting in derivatives 263.8 and 70.1 times more stable to inactivation at 60 °C and pH 10, respectively. Preliminary results in the hydrolysis of fish oil demonstrated the potential of the coating with bifunctional polymers to obtain a stable derivative with greater catalytic properties for the production of omega-3 PUFAs, reaching an hydrolysis activity of 0.207 ± 0.002 U.mg-1 . Finally, BGL was cloned in Escherichia coli with an extracellular lipolytic activity of 71.3 ± 1.8 U.mg-1 for the best culture conditions.     Introdução: O processo de inovação e a sua aplicação em contextos vários têm, gradualmente, ganho terreno na comunidade académica como área de interesse e investigação. Do mesmo modo, nas últimas décadas, também o turismo tem merecido especial destaque nos trabalhos desenvolvidos pelos investigadores, com contributos em várias perspetivas (e.g. económico, social, cultural e ambiental). Objetivo: O objetivo do presente estudo é explorar e contribuir para a reflexão da literatura em contextos específicos de turismo e, em que medida, o processo de inovação se assume como fator chave para o seu desenvolvimento e competitividade (e.g. gestão em contextos de ecoturismo). Métodos: Trata-se de um documento conceptual que reúne os principais componentes do processo de inovação e suas implicações em contextos de turismo de interesse especial (e.g. ecoturismo). Resultados: O presente trabalho apresenta alguns insights na ótica da inovação e empreendedorismo em contextos específicos de turismo. O processo de criação associado à natureza e sistemas de reserva sustentável, mecanismos ou partilha de informações são exemplos de vantagem competitiva para os destinos e produtos turísticos. Conclusões: O empreendedorismo gerador e fatores inovadores que podem desencadear atividade empresarial. O estudo considera algumas das implicações para a gestão e a literatura.     Introdução: O processo de inovação e a sua aplicação em contextos vários têm, gradualmente, ganho terreno na comunidade académica como área de interesse e investigação. Do mesmo modo, nas últimas décadas, também o turismo tem merecido especial destaque nos trabalhos desenvolvidos pelos investigadores, com contributos em várias perspetivas (e.g. económico, social, cultural e ambiental). Objetivo: O objetivo do presente estudo é explorar e contribuir para a reflexão da literatura em contextos específicos de turismo e, em que medida, o processo de inovação se assume como fator chave para o seu desenvolvimento e competitividade (e.g. gestão em contextos de ecoturismo). Métodos: Trata-se de um documento conceptual que reúne os principais componentes do processo de inovação e suas implicações em contextos de turismo de interesse especial (e.g. ecoturismo). Resultados: O presente trabalho apresenta alguns insights na ótica da inovação e empreendedorismo em contextos específicos de turismo. O processo de criação associado à natureza e sistemas de reserva sustentável, mecanismos ou partilha de informações são exemplos de vantagem competitiva para os destinos e produtos turísticos. Conclusões: O empreendedorismo gerador e fatores inovadores que podem desencadear atividade empresarial. O estudo considera algumas das implicações para a gestão e a literatura. A estratégia de controle digital é implementada com um DSP (Digital Signal Processor) e utiliza o método de controle por corrente média para impor corrente senoidal na rede CA de forma a respeitar os limites de distorção harmônica de corrente impostos pela norma IEC 61000-3-2, e obter alto fator de potência. Neste Trabalho é descrito detalhadamente o princípio de funcionamento do conversor proposto, análise qualitativa e quantitativa, especificações de projeto e resultados de simulação e experimentais obtidos com a implementação de um protótipo de 500 W. This work presents the development of a Boost converter with a passive resonant soft-commutation cell (ZCS-ZVS) for application as a pre-regulator converter used for an online uninterrupted power supply system, using a fuel cell as auxiliary power source. The control strategy is implemented using a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and is based on the average current control method for sinusoidal input line current imposition, in order to respect the limits of current harmonic distortion imposed by the IEC 61000-3-2, assuring therefore high input power factor. In this work presents detailed the operation principle of the proposed converter, qualitative and quantitative analysis, design specifications, simulation and experimental results obtained from the implementation of a 500W prototype. Para fazer frente a esse debate, são explorados: o conceito de "inteligência ambiental" (IA); as estratégias por meio das quais as organizações fazem frente ao desafio da mudança climática; as oportunidades que explicam a adoção dessas estratégias; e o papel fornecido pela função produção para que tais estratégias possuam o efeito desejado. Por fim, tais conceitos são sistematizados, buscando-se uma integração dos modelos teóricos existentes, até então considerados de maneira estanque.The aim of this paper is to enlighten the implications of climate change for organizations. To deal with this subject, the follow issues are analyzed: concept of environmental intelligence; opportunities which justify the adoption of these strategies, and the main role performed by the production function to implement such strategies. Finally, concepts of prior theoretical models are taken into account.

    Introdução – Os componentes protésicos têm um papel fundamental na eficiência energética da marcha dos indivíduos amputados. Esta é uma área de conhecimento ainda em desenvolvimento, onde a investigação desempenha um papel central. Objectivos – Comparar e analisar o efeito de dois joelhos protésicos, 3R34, monocêntrico modular, de fricção constante, com auxiliar de extensão incorporado (A) e 3R92, monocêntrico modular, com travão de fricção e controlo pneumático da fase de balanço (B) no consumo energético e eficiência da marcha. Metodologia – Um indivíduo do sexo masculino de 27 anos, com amputação transfemural longa, foi sujeito a um protocolo submáximo de avaliação da resposta ao exercício em passadeira rolante (H/P/Cosmos(R) Mercury), através de um sistema de análise de gases breath-by-breath (Cosmed Quark PFT Ergo). Foi efetuado o mesmo protocolo com intervalo de dois dias, primeiro utilizando o joelho A e depois o B. As variáveis analisadas foram o consumo de O2 (VO2), o equivalente metabólico (MET) e a eficiência energética da marcha (Quociente de VO2 esperado de um individuo saudável e o VO2 do individuo em estudo). O esforço percecionado foi medido com a escala RPE de Borg. Resultados – O consumo energético com o joelho A (24,2 ml O2/kg/min; 6,9 MET) foi inferior ao obtido com o joelho B (28,68 ml O2/kg/min; 8,2 MET). A eficiência energética da marcha foi mais elevada para o joelho A (43%) do que para o joelho B (39%). Conclusão – A utilização do joelho A na prótese do indivíduo em estudo resulta numa marcha de menor consumo energético e maior eficiência. No entanto, este valor poderá estar influenciado pelo curto período de adaptação ao joelho B, sendo necessários mais estudos para confirmar os resultados do estudo e a influência deste fator.     The sun has an extremely important role in the existence of human beings, and Brazil has a privileged geographical position to explore sunlight. The union of these two factors favors the use of solar cells for converting solar energy into electricity by photovoltaic technology: it is a great alternative energy source, especially for being a clean one, causing less damage to the environment. This paper addresses the photovoltaic technology with a focus on hospitals, through case studies found in international literature, because hospitals, even running all important services to society, have a potential for pollution capable of causing damage to human health and the environment that is around them. It is estimated that the Brazilian oil reserves are sufficient for twenty-two years. This makes the search for alternative sources for power generation a necessity.

    The sun has an extremely important role in the existence of human beings, and Brazil has a privileged geographical position to explore sunlight. The union of these two factors favors the use of solar cells for converting solar energy into electricity by photovoltaic technology: it is a great alternative energy source, especially for being a clean one, causing less damage to the environment. This paper addresses the photovoltaic technology with a focus on hospitals, through case studies found in international literature, because hospitals, even running all important services to society, have a potential for pollution capable of causing damage to human health and the environment that is around them. It is estimated that the Brazilian oil reserves are sufficient for twenty-two years. This makes the search for alternative sources for power generation a necessity.

    Este trabalho teve como objetivo a produção de lipases por fermentação em estado sólido com microrganismos isolados de dendezeiro (Elaeis guineenses Jacq.). Após prospecção dos microrganismos isolados, destacaram-se pela alta atividade lipolítica o fungo filamentoso Aspergillus sp. (BDA-FI-7) e a bactéria Burkholderia gladioli BRM58833. Os parâmetros para o cultivo por fermentação em estado sólido foram otimizados, sendo as maiores atividades lipolíticas obtidas de 68,5 ± 5,4 e 1096,7 ± 39,3 U.gss-1 (unidades de atividade lipolítica por grama de sólido seco) para o fungo e a bactéria, respectivamente, quando avaliadas pela hidrólise de palmitato de p-nitrofenila. Quando utilizada trioleína como substrato, as maiores atividade lipolíticas encontradas foram de 7,7 ± 0,7 e 374,2 ± 20,4 U.gss-1 para o fungo e a bactéria, respectivamente. Como as atividades obtidas para a lipase bacteriana foram mais promissoras que as do fungo, o restante do estudo foi focado na lipase bacteriana. A análise proteômica do extrato produzido pela bactéria revelou que, para as condições otimizadas de cultivo, são secretadas duas esterases e três lipases verdadeiras. Quando purificada, a lipase BGL mostrou preferência por substratos de cadeia longa sendo a maior atividade lipolítica observada a 50 °C e pH 9. Além disso, a lipase foi resistente a solventes e exibiu uma termoestabilidade expressiva quando comparada a outras lipases, revelando o potencial desta enzima em reações de hidrólise e síntese de ésteres. A síntese de biodiesel foi estudada com o uso dos sólidos fermentados obtidos do cultivo da bactéria. Os maiores teores de ésteres etílicos foram de 67,3 ± 1,7 e 74,7 ± 3,8% em 120 h para as reações em óleo de soja refinado e óleo de palma bruto, respectivamente. Adicionalmente, BGL foi imobilizada e estabilizada por diferentes técnicas e abordagens, resultando em derivados 263,8 e 70,1 vezes mais estáveis à inativação a 60 °C e pH 10, respectivamente. Resultados preliminares na hidrólise de óleo de peixe demonstraram o potencial da técnica de revestimento com polímeros bifuncionais para obtenção de um derivado estável e com maior capacidade catalítica para produção de PUFAs ômega-3, atingindo uma atividade de hidrólise de 0,207 ± 0,002 U.mg-1 . Por fim, BGL foi clonada em Escherichia coli encontrando- se uma atividade lipolítica extracelular de 71,3 ± 1,8 U.mg-1 para as melhores condições de cultivo. The goal of this work was to produce lipases by solid state fermentation with microorganisms isolated from the oil palm tree (Elaeis guineenses Jacq.). After evaluation of the isolated microorganisms, the filamentous fungus Aspergillus sp. (BDA-FI-7) and the bacterium Burkholderia gladioli BRM58833 stood out for their high lipolytic activity. When purified, BGL lipase preferred long-chain substrates with the highest lipolytic activity observed at 50 °C and pH 9. In addition, BGL was resistant to solvents and exhibited an expressive thermostability when compared to other lipases, revealing the potential of this enzyme in reactions of hydrolysis and synthesis of esters. The synthesis of biodiesel was studied with use of the fermented solids obtained from the cultivation of the bacterium. The highest levels of ethyl esters were 67.3 ± 1.7 and 74.7 ± 3.8% in 120 h for the reactions in refined soybean oil and crude palm oil, respectively. Additionally, BGL was immobilized and stabilized by different techniques and approaches, resulting in derivatives 263.8 and 70.1 times more stable to inactivation at 60 °C and pH 10, respectively. Preliminary results in the hydrolysis of fish oil demonstrated the potential of the coating with bifunctional polymers to obtain a stable derivative with greater catalytic properties for the production of omega-3 PUFAs, reaching an hydrolysis activity of 0.207 ± 0.002 U.mg-1 . Finally, BGL was cloned in Escherichia coli with an extracellular lipolytic activity of 71.3 ± 1.8 U.mg-1 for the best culture conditions.     Introdução: O processo de inovação e a sua aplicação em contextos vários têm, gradualmente, ganho terreno na comunidade académica como área de interesse e investigação. Do mesmo modo, nas últimas décadas, também o turismo tem merecido especial destaque nos trabalhos desenvolvidos pelos investigadores, com contributos em várias perspetivas (e.g. económico, social, cultural e ambiental). Objetivo: O objetivo do presente estudo é explorar e contribuir para a reflexão da literatura em contextos específicos de turismo e, em que medida, o processo de inovação se assume como fator chave para o seu desenvolvimento e competitividade (e.g. gestão em contextos de ecoturismo). Métodos: Trata-se de um documento conceptual que reúne os principais componentes do processo de inovação e suas implicações em contextos de turismo de interesse especial (e.g. ecoturismo). Resultados: O presente trabalho apresenta alguns insights na ótica da inovação e empreendedorismo em contextos específicos de turismo. O processo de criação associado à natureza e sistemas de reserva sustentável, mecanismos ou partilha de informações são exemplos de vantagem competitiva para os destinos e produtos turísticos. Conclusões: O empreendedorismo gerador e fatores inovadores que podem desencadear atividade empresarial. O estudo considera algumas das implicações para a gestão e a literatura.     Introdução: O processo de inovação e a sua aplicação em contextos vários têm, gradualmente, ganho terreno na comunidade académica como área de interesse e investigação. Do mesmo modo, nas últimas décadas, também o turismo tem merecido especial destaque nos trabalhos desenvolvidos pelos investigadores, com contributos em várias perspetivas (e.g. económico, social, cultural e ambiental). Objetivo: O objetivo do presente estudo é explorar e contribuir para a reflexão da literatura em contextos específicos de turismo e, em que medida, o processo de inovação se assume como fator chave para o seu desenvolvimento e competitividade (e.g. gestão em contextos de ecoturismo). Métodos: Trata-se de um documento conceptual que reúne os principais componentes do processo de inovação e suas implicações em contextos de turismo de interesse especial (e.g. ecoturismo). Resultados: O presente trabalho apresenta alguns insights na ótica da inovação e empreendedorismo em contextos específicos de turismo. O processo de criação associado à natureza e sistemas de reserva sustentável, mecanismos ou partilha de informações são exemplos de vantagem competitiva para os destinos e produtos turísticos. Conclusões: O empreendedorismo gerador e fatores inovadores que podem desencadear atividade empresarial. O estudo considera algumas das implicações para a gestão e a literatura.     Este trabalho apresenta o desenvolvimento de um Conversor Boost apresentando uma célula de comutação não dissipativa (ZCS-ZVS) para aplicação como conversor pré-regulador utilizados em sistemas ininterruptos de suprimento de energia on-line utilizando uma célula a combustível como fonte auxiliar de energia. A estratégia de controle digital é implementada com um DSP (Digital Signal Processor) e utiliza o método de controle por corrente média para impor corrente senoidal na rede CA de forma a respeitar os limites de distorção harmônica de corrente impostos pela norma IEC 61000-3-2, e obter alto fator de potência. Neste Trabalho é descrito detalhadamente o princípio de funcionamento do conversor proposto, análise qualitativa e quantitativa, especificações de projeto e resultados de simulação e experimentais obtidos com a implementação de um protótipo de 500 W. This work presents the development of a Boost converter with a passive resonant soft-commutation cell (ZCS-ZVS) for application as a pre-regulator converter used for an online uninterrupted power supply system, using a fuel cell as auxiliary power source. The control strategy is implemented using a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and is based on the average current control method for sinusoidal input line current imposition, in order to respect the limits of current harmonic distortion imposed by the IEC 61000-3-2, assuring therefore high input power factor. In this work presents detailed the operation principle of the proposed converter, qualitative and quantitative analysis, design specifications, simulation and experimental results obtained from the implementation of a 500W prototype.
