Uranium mines operate in more than 20countries in different parts of the world, although in 2018 about 55% of world productioncomes from only ten mines in four countries, and these four countries provide 77% of theworld's uranium mined. The countries have varying degrees of government risk, affectingtheir attractiveness for investment in the extraction, processing and export of this rawmaterial, taxes and the availability of skilled workers. These factors have already influencedthe exploration of minerals, which led to the identification of an ore body before theextraction and processing process began.
