Energetic security is becoming one of the priorities of the economic policies of the European Union. One of the elements on which it depends is adequate financial standing of companies producing and distributing electricity. A factor contributing to this is the structure of funding sources. Based on the assumption that in order to maintain maximum energy security, risk should be avoided, hence the assumption that it will be natural to avoid debt in companies in the energy sector. That would disprove the fundamental theory of Modigliani Miller, describing the structure of financing. The aim of the publication is an attempt to identify the relation between the level of debt in energy companies performing in United Europe countries sector and their profitability. factors that determine the structure of sources of financing in the energy sector in the EU. The article poses three hypotheses: in the energy sector dominates financing by equity (in medium and large companies), company size does not matter for the financial structure, as well as the share of debt financing affects the efficiency measured ROA of companies in the energy sector (in average and large enterprises). Research used descriptive statistics and regression analysis. We also used appropriate tests supporting the inference regarding normal distribution and equality of medians. The results obtained indicate that the first and the second hypothesis is true, the third hypothesis was not confirmed. For the wider importance of research, this means that the energy sector, which in this study was represented by a group of European companies for financing investments are backed by some predominantly equity.

Artykuł przedstawia uwarunkowania i perspektyw rozwoju współpracy eurośródziemnomorskiej w zakresie odnawialnych źródeł energii. W pierwszej części, scharakteryzowano cele Unii Europejskiej w sektorze OZE, w drugiej, przedstawiono sytuację energetyczną państw śródziemnomorskiej ze wskazaniem stanu rozwoju sektora OZE, w trzeciej projekty OZE wdrażane w ramach inicjatyw eurośródziemnomorskich, w czwartej problemy związane z realizacją projektów w sektorze OZE, zarówno w państwach śródziemnomorskich, jak i w ramach programów eurośródziemnomorskich. Jednym z elementów strategii energetycznej Europy, ściśle związanej z bezpieczeństwem energetycznym, jest dywersyfikacja sektora energetycznego, w tym poprzez zwiększenie produkcji i zużycia energii pochodzącej ze źródeł odnawialnych. Pozyskanie jej planowane jest zarówno z krajowej produkcji poszczególnych państw, jak i poprzez eksport, ze względu na bliskość geograficzną, rozwinięte instytucje współpracy oraz potencjał, państwa śródziemnomorskie zajmują tutaj priorytetowe miejsce. Rozwój sektora odnawialnych źródeł energii w państwach śródziemnomorskich może generować również pozytywne efekty pośrednie dla Europy i stać się bodźcem wzmocnionej współpracy eurośródziemnomorskiej w innych obszarach społeczno-ekonomicznych. ; The paper presents the conditions and prospects for the development of Euro-Mediterranean cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources (RES). Energetyka, a przede wszystkim problemy związane z handlem gazem są jednym z podstawowych elementów współpracy Unii Europejskiej i Federacji Rosyjskiej. Uosobieniem rosyjskiej obecności w Europie jest m.in. Gazprom. Autorzy analizują fenomen Gazpromu oraz zastanawiają się nad tym, czy jego ekspansja w UE ma charakter kooperacyjny czy dominujący. ; Energy production, especially gas trade issues, is one of the essential elements of collaboration between the European Union and the Russian Federation. Epitomizing the Russian presence in Europe, there is Gazprom. In the article, the authors analise the Gazprom phenomenon and wonder whether its expansion in the EU is co-operative or dominating in character.

Celem pracy było wykonanie obliczeń dla opływu profilu aerodynamicznego NACA0018 stosowanego w turbinach wiatrowych małej mocy o pionowej osi obrotu. Do numerycznego modelowania przepływu został wykorzystany program ANSYS CFX. Wyniki obliczeń porównano z badaniami eksperymentalnymi dla określenia dokładności oraz przydatności przyjętej metody do modelowania zjawisk aerodynamicznych w zakresie małych liczb Reynoldsa. Rezultaty pracy mają określić przydatności programu ANSYS CFX do wyznaczenia pola przepływu wokół profilu i określenia jego charakterystyk dla pracy turbiny. ; The purpose of this study was to calculate of flow an aerofoil NACA0018 which is used in low-power wind turbines with a vertical axis of rotation. ANSYS CFX software was used for the numerical modeling of the flow. The results of calculations were compared with experimental studies to determine the accuracy and usefulness of the method for modeling aerodynamic phenomena. Results of the work may to be used for definition of the suitability of ANSYS CFX to determine the flow field around the airfoil and identify its performance characteristics for wind turbine.

Celem artykułu jest ocena wskazanych w Strategii na rzecz Odpowiedzialnego Rozwoju do roku 2020 (z perspektywą do 2030 roku) zapisów dotyczących spójności oraz ocena wizji rozwoju energetyki pod kątem jej wpływu na wzmacnianie spójności. Podstawowe znaczenie w Strategii ma spójność społeczna. Polityka regionalna ma zapewniać osiąganie spójności terytorialnej i zrównoważenie rozwoju kraju. Selektywne podejście do polityki regionalnej, uwzględniające ujęcie sektorowe, mogłoby służyć rozwojowi z wykorzystaniem lokalnych zasobów. Jednak w Strategii założono prymat technologii węglowych w wytwarzaniu energii, scentralizowany model wytwarzania energii elektrycznej oraz preferencje dla stabilnych źródeł odnawialnych. Będzie to godzić w osiąganie celów w zakresie spójności: społecznej, ekonomicznej i terytorialnej. Spowoduje duży wzrost kosztów wytwarzania, a w ślad za tym, cen energii dla odbiorców. Za właściwy można uznać kierunek działań określanych jako energetyka rozproszona. Będą temu także sprzyjać istniejące i zapowiadane zasady finansowania inwestycji ze źródeł unijnych. ; The aim of this paper is to assess the provisions concerning cohesion included in the 2020 Strategy for Responsible Development (with a view to 2030) and to assess the vision of the development of energy in terms of its impact on strengthening cohesion. Social cohesion is a key notion in the document. Regional policy is to ensure territorial cohesion and sustainable development of the country. A selective approach to regional policy, taking into account a sectoral approach, could foster development based on local resources. However, the Strategy assumes the priority of carbon technology in the generation of energy, a centralized model of electricity generation, and preference for sustainable renewable sources. This will make it difficult to achieve the goals of social, economic, and territorial cohesion, which can result in a significant increase in manufacturing costs and thus higher energy prices for consumers. Data on domestic fuel and energy production as well as imports of the energy resources having salient significance in the evaluation of the German energy supply security were presented in the paper. The text undertakes an assessment of global prime Energy consumption structure and developmental trends, their implications as well as the subject of quantification of the German energy supply security.
