This dataset and codebook correspond to the second round of survey data gathered in Denmark in 2023, within the project FULFILL - Fundamental Decarbonisation Through Sufficiency By Lifestyle Changes. As part of Work Package 3 (WP3) in the FULFILL project, we collected quantitative data from six countries: Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, and India. The first round of the survey, consisted of recruiting a representative sample of approximately 2000 households in each country. In this second survey round, we recruit around 500 respondents from the initial survey round, ensuring representativity is maintained. This survey is very similar to the survey in the first round and includes a lot of identical items, including a quantitative assessment of the carbon footprint in the housing, mobility, and diet sectors, socio-economic factors such as age, gender, income, education, household size, life stage, and political orientation. Furthermore, the survey includes measures of quality of life, encompassing aspects such as health and well-being, environmental quality, financial security, and comfort. New for this second round, we have incorporated questions regarding the measures respondents adopted in response to the 2022 energy crisis.

This dataset contains transcripts from 30 semi-structured qualitative interviews, conducted as part of a sub-project to the research project eCAPE (New Energy Consumer Roles and Technologies – Actors, Practices and Equality), running from 2018-2024. eCAPE is financed by the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union´s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program (grant agreement number 786643). The project is led by Professor Kirsten Gram-Hanssen from Department of the Built Environment, Aalborg University. This sub-project examined how Danish households handled the energy crisis and what changes in their heating and other energy practices the crisis led to. The interviews were conducted in 2022-23 and different types of households were interviewed about their everyday life during the crisis. The interviews were conducted by Kirsten Gram-Hanssen, Line Valdorff Madsen and Line Kryger Aagaard from Department of the Built Environment, Aalborg University. Interviews were transcribed by student assistants. The interviews were coded and analysed in Nvivo by Kirsten Gram-Hanssen, Line Valdorff Madsen and Rikke Skovgaard Nielsen. The recruitment process and interview method are further described in the related peer-reviewed publications. All names are removed in transcripts and participants’ age, occupation and other personal data have in some cases been altered and in some cases paragraphs have been removed, all to ensure anonymity. Alterations are marked with brackets, where anoymised words or sections are indicated with [anonymised]. Participants received written and oral information on the research purpose and handling of their personal data and gave their written or oral consent to participate. The interviews were conducted in the participants’ homes, except for two telephone interviews and one interview conducted in a language school which the participant attended. Photos were taken during the interviews with participants’ consent, but these photos are not published in the dataset due to the protection of the anonymity of participants. Apart from the interview transcripts this dataset contains the interview guide (Danish and English version).

En afprøvning af pc-værktøjet BEAT 2000's viser, at BEAT 2000 er et velegnet værktøj, der umiddelbart kan anvendes til energi- og miljøvurdering af renoveringssager. BEAT 2000 er afprøvet dels på renovering med energibesparende foranstaltninger i form af solfangere, solvægge og ventilationsanlæg med varmegenvinding, dels på mere traditionel renovering af små, utidssvarende lejligheder. En udbygning af datagrundlaget, især for alternative energibesparende løsninger og de materialer, der indgår, vil kunne reducere tidsforbruget ved definition af de utraditionelle og usædvanlige bygningsdele, der optræder ved renovering. Tests show that BEAT 2000, a simulation program for energy and environmental assessment is a tool well suited for direct energy and environmental assessments of renovation projects. BEAT 2000 has been tested on renovation projects which included energy saving measures such as solar collectors, solar walls and ventilation systems with heat recovery. The tool was also tested on more traditional renovation of small out-of-date flats. Particularly for alternative energy saving solutions and the materials they incorporate, an extended basis for the data would reduce time consumption by defining untraditional and unusual building elements that occur in renovation.

Rapporten giver oplysninger om enhedsforbrug til varme og varmt brugsvand i forskellige typer af bygninger baseret på en analyse af et omfattende datamateriale. Formålet med undersøgelsen har været at ajourføre denne del af grundlaget for både landsdækkende og lokal varmeplanlægning i Danmark.

Rapporten giver gode råd om mulige energibesparelser og praktiske projekteringshensyn, som er forbundet med udformning af energieffektiv ventilation i ikke blot kontorbygninger, men i alle bygninger med komfortventilationsanlæg. I forbindelse med projektering af ventilationsanlæg har interessen traditionelt været rettet mod begrænsning af energiforbruget til opvarmning af ventilationsluften. Energiforbruget til mekanisk køling og til selve transporten af luften i ventilationsanlægget bør imidlertid også indgå i overvejelserne. Vejledningen knytter sig til By og Byg Dokumentation 039: Måling på ventilationsanlæg med lavt elforbrug i nyere kontorbygninger (2003).
