Effectively reducing climate change requires marked, global behavior change. However, it is unclear which strategies are most likely to motivate people to change their climate beliefs and behaviors. Here, we tested 11 expert-crowdsourced interventions on four climate mitigation outcomes: beliefs, policy support, information sharing intention, and an effortful tree-planting behavioral task. Across 59,440 participants from 63 countries, the interventions’ effectiveness was small, largely limited to nonclimate skeptics, and differed across outcomes: Beliefs were strengthened mostly by decreasing psychological distance (by 2.3%), policy support by writing a letter to a future-generation member (2.6%), information sharing by negative emotion induction (12.1%), and no intervention increased the more effortful behavior—several interventions even reduced tree planting. Last, the effects of each intervention differed depending on people’s initial climate beliefs. These findings suggest that the impact of behavioral climate interventions varies across audiences and target behaviors.

Based on the evaluation, the method allows adapting system parameters with turbo codes (TC) or LDPC code. This method can be used in combination with other methods of parametric and structural adaptation using turbo codes or LDPC codes.

It was found that of the selected cities, Bialystok is the most attractive in terms of using solar energy for hot water supply systems, as the solar hot water supply system has the highest solar share f = 0.64, and the efficiency of the solar collector is = 0.553. The lowest efficiency of the solar hot water supply system is observed for the city of Szczecin, which is characterized by indicators f = 0.49 and = 0.505, respectively. These analytical studies show that the use of the solar hot water system in selected cities in Poland can save on traditional energy sources for hot water systems by up to 50%.

The content of antiknock additives in these fuels has been established in the investigated fuels. The influence of aliphatic alcohols on operational, physical and chemical and environmental properties of traditional petroleum aviation fuels has been studied. The research has also investigated the use of ethyl, methyl and butyl alcohols in motor-car fuel systems in the composition of complex and pure alternative fuels in aviation. It has been confirmed that addition of aliphatic alcohols to traditional aviation fuels enables reduction of harmful emissions in the upper layers of the atmosphere. Alcohol-containing petrol is being enriched with oxygen, which enables more complete combustion of fuel and lessens emissions of carbon oxides.

Aaltonen; Alexander Tarasenko; Yu. Jagodzinski;Low-frequency internal friction (IF) of pure copper after anodic polarisation (AP) in passivating sodium nitrite solution was studied. In the temperature range of 100–300 K a set of peaks was detected and they were recognised as the Hasiguti peaks. Excessive vacancy generation at the Cu\Cu2O interface was the reason for these peaks. It was assumed that excessive vacancies diffuse into the bulk metal and osmotic stress in copper caused by them results in dislocation multiplication and rearrangement of dislocation structure.

P.; Klets, D.; Akimov, O.;A method for estimating the power characteristics of the car engine in various driving regimes is proposed. It is determined that the volume of the free power (engine power reserve) allows the driver to implement the turning parameters and the time of its completion, which are set by the steering parameters, position and the speed of the steering wheels rotation. The engine power reserve is necessary to provide the required maneuverability indicators. The engine power during maneuvering is spent on overcoming the resistance to movement and on providing the impact controlled by the maneuver. The first component of the engine power can be called connected, and the second one can be called the free one or a controlled component. The received analytical expressions allow carrying out at the design stage a rational choice of capacity of the engine by the condition of maintenance of demanded properties of maneuverability. The developed method for constructing the refined acceleration characteristics of the engine makes it possible to determine the dynamic capabilities of the car, taking into account its design features and operating conditions.
