description Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Research 2012Publisher:近畿大学工業高等専門学校 [Abstract] HEMS is recognized as the one of most effective system for energy saving among the people. But this system has the problems for being influenced into the ordinary people. The problem has following three points. 1. This system is mounted on the wall of the house. Then it is so hard that people can monitor at various points. 2. Initial cost is very expensive. 3. People has less willing for saving energy at their home. Then we've tried to introduce sensor network technology into HEMS. Sensor network technology can overcome above three problems because it consists of cheep wireless sensor node and also can be used for providing safety and security and health of their daily life. But the power source of the sensor network node is provided by AC cable or chemical battery at present. It prevents the location freedom and occurs battery exchange procedure. Then we've examined to introduce the energy harvesting technology into the power source of the sensor network nodes. In this paper we've calculated the consuming power amount of the sensor network node account for various step HEMS and assuming the harvesting energy from the life environment. After that we've performed the experiment for monitoring HEMS under using only solar energy. Finally we've concluded the validity of our way for applying to more rich HEMS (Control HEMS).

A vibration control system using building connection is one of the most popular methods in passive structural control of building structures. Most of the previous researches on this subject deal with buildings connected by steel dampers or oil dampers. There is a limited number of papers which deal with buildings connected by inertial mass dampers (IMD). It is well known that IMD has some advantageous properties, i.e. an input reduction effect, a lengthening effect of natural period and a tuning damping effect. While IMD between two buildings does not have the input reduction property, the response of a building with longer natural period can be reduced more effectively than the building connecting by steel dampers or oil dampers due to the lengthening property of natural period and the tuning damping effect. However, many previous researches are based on the frequency-domain formulation using a two-mass connection model and the effects of higher modes and connection height are not always taken into consideration. In addition, there is no research focusing on the energy characteristics of buildings connected by IMD. We propose a substructure tuned-mass-damper (TMD) connection damping system in this paper. In this system, the substructure vibration is synchronized with the main structure by connecting with IMD. It may be difficult to reduce the response transfer function from the height of the so-called fixed point by connecting with oil dampers. On the contrary, it may be possible to reduce the height of the fixed point by connecting with IMD. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the damping effect and the optimal properties of IMD between two buildings. The optimal quantity of IMD is obtained by using the fixed-point theory and the energy analysis for a two-mass connection model and an MDOF connection model. Its validity is verified by time history analysis. IMD between two buildings does not absorb energy, but it transfers energy from the building with longer natural period to the building with shorter ...

The results were applied to the analysis of a merged shock-layer with carbon ablation to investigate the effects of the energy changes on the shock layer of a body reentering the Earth's atmosphere. The calculation was based upon a 4-temperature and 16 chemical species model. It was found the energy changes had a significant effect on flow properties in the high temperature shock layer.

A high-power density battery for launch vehicle did not exist except the Silver-Zinc battery when the M-V TVC system was developed. Therefore, Silver-Zinc battery was adopted, although it has drawbacks of its short storage life and charge/discharge cycle life. After four launches of M-V, this battery system needs to be reconsidered, because of above demerits. The new battery requirements are as follows, (1) Long storage and cycle life, (2) Low cost, (3) Small size and light weight. We selected the lithium ion battery for HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle), that can satisfy our requirements. This battery has the following key advantages, (a) High discharge rate, (b) Long life, (c) Low cost, (d) Stabilized Quality, and (e) High safety design. To apply the lithium ion battery for HEV to M-V launch vehicle the following items have been verified. (1) Electrical compatibility with the TVC system of the M-V launch vehicle, (2) Environmental resistance, (3) Space level quality assurance.
