Peralatan yang digunakan selama proses produksi akan mengalami penurunan fungsi yang akhirnya menyebabkan sebuah kerusakan setelah digunakan pada periode waktu tertentu sehingga menghasilkan losses (kerugian) berupa waktu dan hasil produksi. Untuk mengetahui dan meminimumkan losses yang terjadi, diperlukan adanya evaluasi kinerja dari peralatan produksi. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) adalah metode pengukuran efektivitas penggunaan suatu peralatan/mesin. OEE dikenal sebagai salah satu aplikasi progam Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) yang dapat mengidentifikasikan losses yang terjadi (dikenal dengan six big losses). Saat ini proses pada Spinning and Take Up Machine 7 Polyester Filament Yarn Factory PT Indonesia Toray Synthetics (PT ITS) Tangerang sebagai salah satu penghasil undrawn yarn terbesar pada perusahaan tersebut memiliki permasalahan yang belum terungkap dengan jelas. Hal tersebut mengakibatkan penggunaan peralatan yang ada belum optimal. Pengungkapan akar masalah dan faktor penyebabnya diperlukan sebelum perusahaan melakukan usaha perbaikan. Penelitian ini dimulai dengan mengukur pencapaian nilai OEE dalam satu tahun 2014 dan melalui analisis pareto terhadap hasil pengukuran tersebut diperoleh akar permasalahan dan faktor penyebabnya yang secara jelas ditampilkan pada sebuah analisa dengan menggunakan why analysis dan menerapkannya sebagai improvement untuk meningkatkan efisiensi pada Spinning and Take Up Machine 7. Besar amlitudonya bisa 5.6 kali arus normalnya., waktu transient ini kurang dari 60 ms. Lonjakan arus masuk pada saat transformator daya energized dapat menyebabkan gangguan dan kerusakan pada komponen sistem lainnya. Makalah ini menjelaskan metode analisis yang akurat yang dapat digunakan untuk menemukan lonjakan arus masuk arus dalam transformator 3 fasa yang umum digunakan. Metode ini merupakan perpanjangan dari yang sebelumnya dijelaskan untuk menghitung lonjakan arus dalam transformator fasa tunggal. Metode ini sangat kuat karena arus dan pembusukannya dapat dihitung selama banyak siklus, bukan hanya puncak pertama, seperti yang dimungkinkan oleh metode lainnya. Perbandingan dilakukan antara koneksi transformator yang berbeda dan diilustrasikan dengan contoh numerik. Ini menunjukkan, misalnya, bahwa hambatan pada netral dari transformator yang terhubung dengan bintang memiliki sedikit efek dibandingkan dengan menggunakan hambatan yang sama secara seri dengan gulungan berenergi.
