description Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Article 2012Funded by:MESTD | Development and improveme...MESTD| Development and improvement of technologies for energy efficient and environmentally sound use of several types of agricultural and forest biomass and possible utilization for cogenerationAuthors: Rudonja, Nedžad R.; Živković, Goran S.; Komatina, Mirko S.; Repić, Branislav S.;The paper includes a general discussion of reasons for the application of heat storage and phase change material as storage medium. A part of experimental results obtained by measuring during the process of paraffin phase change was presented. It was observed that in order to obtain lower temperature stratification during the heating process it is necessary to increase the number of volume heat sources in the thermal storage. .

Poljaković-Pajnik, Leopold in OpenAIREAchieving the strategical goals in forestry of Republic of Serbia will not be easy in the light of climate change. Gypsy moth (Lymantria dispar L.) is the most economically significant and abound at pest in deciduous forests in Serbia. It is also very important pest in fruit orchards. His outbreak often has the character of a natural disaster that requires a significant commitment of manpower and financial resources in order to suppress it. We developed two models for predicting the occurrence of gradation (outbreak) and latency of gypsy moth population on the basis of monthly and quarterly values of climatic data for the period 1888-2010. The models were based on logistic regression. In the MODEL I, we have used the mean monthly temperatures from October of the year preceding event, temperature in January and March, and the rainfall in May, while in MODEL II, taken were mean temperatures of the first quarter and sum of the precipitation of the second quarter. Overall classification accuracy of the models were above 70%, while the prediction of outbreak based on MODEL I was 86%. The results of this study (models that can be applied in real time) can contribute to better decision-making in relation to forest management and protection of forests from gypsy moth in Republic of Serbia and wider.

This paper presents an overview of techniques for biomass burning, as well as technical and technological characteristics of plant for the production of energy from biomass in order to promote the implementation of renewable energy sources. It also presents the option and joint combustion of biomass and fossil fuels. The decisive factor in the increased use of biomass should be its low acquisition and operating costs, but the application of modern low-emission incinerator is economically viable only for large plants, because then gets maximum effect from the problem of fuel (straw and specially planted Culture (Miscanthus Sinesis)). .
