So-called digital twin presents an advantage that creates a virtual image of a real conveyor. Simulation of the conveyor by simulation language can be an example of a tool of a conveyor virtual image. Simulation allows to test the proposed changes and in the case of functionality, to use the changes in the real operation of pipe conveyor. The paper presents the description of the simulated regression model of conveyor and realized simulation experiments within the regression model of pipe conveyor.

The paper is focused on the issue of assessing the quality of transport connectivity on a predesignated transport network in regular public passenger transport at a regional scale. Comprehensively, using the defined key qualitative indicators, it assesses the performance of passenger transport timetables, in both ways of ex ante, as well as ex post. Existing methodologies in a given issue have only dealt with a partial assessment of the transport connectivity quality on specific transport network. However, unlike them, the objective of this manuscript was to propose a new unified methodology to assess the passenger transport timetables in terms of transport connectivity, and subsequently to complexly evaluate the whole predesignated regional transport network from a qualitative point of view. In this paper, the proposed methodology is demonstrated on a particular regional transport network, specifically an existing railway network in the Slovak Republic, whereby the data related to regional passenger transport timetables for a certain day is an input factor. The purpose of this study was to design and verify a draft methodological procedure to assess the quality of transport connectivity on a certain transport network, thus moving towards more effective evaluation of integrated transport systems. Its practical applicability consists in comparison of existing and proposed timetables, which is considered one of the crucial factors in terms of public passenger transport quality.

The aim of this article is to find a rational solution for increasing the safety of level crossings in the Czech Republic on the basis of a set of representative level crossings. The Czech Republic was deliberately chosen because of its geographical location, the number of level crossings on the network, and because, according to statistics from the Rail Safety Inspection Office, the country ranks as one of the highest for the number of accidents at level crossings. The rational solution being sought is one that achieves a balance between legislative, technical, and awareness-raising measures. In the practical part, great emphasis is placed on the assessment of the current state of Czech legislation. The identified discrepancies are resolved by adjusting calculations for overview distances and proposing changes to incorrect provisions. The main contribution of this paper is the comprehensive overview that it provides of level crossings and their safety. This overview includes a description of the current state of affairs, i.e., the number of level crossings, their location, classification, construction and type of equipment used, as well as an analysis of accidents and their frequency. The latter is in relation to the proposed construction and technical solution and subsequent assessment of the rationalisation possibilities and investments required to reconstruct or remove existing level crossings, thereby affecting the accident rate.

This paper deals with waste management. The aim is to find out whether the number of municipal mixed waste bins can be reduced due to the impact of waste separation and to determine the optimum municipal waste collection cycle within a predesignated area with an existing urban road network. The number of mixed waste bins depends on two factors—household waste volume and household waste composition. Both of these factors have a significant impact on the number of mixed waste bins required, with household waste composition being of particular importance when it comes to calculating the potential reduction in the number of mixed waste bins required due to waste separation. The calculations for the weight and volume of mixed household waste per person and the composition (types) thereof are presented accordingly. The results reveal which types of waste are the most useful in minimising the number of mixed waste bins by up to 30–50%. To determine the optimum waste collection cycle within the predesignated area with a real urban road network, the Nearest Neighbour Search method was applied. In the discussion, the focus is on whether other methods, including the Two-Phase Heuristic approach and the Bellman-Ford Algorithm, could be applied to solve the problem, whereby parameters such as application time and the capacity of the waste collection vehicle are compared.

The aim of this article is to modify the parameters and thus the objective function of the deterministic model of inventory theory so that other important aspects, which influence inventory management, can be taken into consideration. These aspects include the nature of inventory consumption, the share of inventories in sales, the capacity of means of transport and, above all, the reliability of suppliers. This goal is achieved by performing sophisticated and specific calculations for the individual parameters in the modified model. The modification of the objective function of the deterministic model has created a new multi-criteria model. The outcome of this model sought to optimize the supply process in a way that minimizes the risks associated with a lack of inventories while maintaining the economic effectiveness thereof. The model effectiveness is examined by comparing the application of the deterministic model and the proposed model with modified objective function. The results of applying these individual models have been produced based on calculations of indicators showing inventory management effectiveness—the speed of inventory turnover and the average number of inventories in storage.

The automotive sector has been experiencing a rapid development in recent times. Modern trends aim at the progress of so-called sustainable, eco-friendly vehicles, in many cases associated with advanced technologies and assistance systems. It is increasingly common to see cars with electric, hybrid, gas or hydrogen propulsion systems. Such approaches can create a transformation of manufacturing processes towards the growth of new types and fields of technologies and systems in the automotive industry. The manuscript discusses the subject of vehicles with various types of power supply, i.e., propulsion system. The investigation was executed with different respondent groups whereby the analysis was performed predominantly by using two merging criteria such as place of residence and gender of respondents. Following the research conducted, we state that given a variety of variables, the majority of the respondents are convinced that, prospectively, electric and hybrid vehicles in all probability will be the prevailing types of vehicles occurring on the roads of the Czech Republic. However, it is also important to analyze the situation of the current access to energy resources for manufacturing of both kinds of vehicles and, above all, their utilization. Thus, the preferences of drivers are key issues, but it is also necessary to take into consideration the production capacity and investment profitability regarding the purchase of vehicles with modern types of propulsion system.

The article presents a research study dealing with the issue of identifying the crucial criteria driving the demand for electric vehicles and decision-making on the ideal electric vehicle choice for the company under investigation. Specifically, the research aimed to identify key factors influencing the decision-making process to purchase electric vans and to propose adequate recommendations when applying adequate multi-criteria decision-making methods, namely, ELECTRE I and PROMETHEE II, in the Czech and Slovak market conditions. The present survey identified six key criteria: mileage, load-carrying capacity, recharging speed, purchase price, load-bearing capacity, and electricity consumption. Based on the expert team preferences, the criteria weights were calculated, followed by data normalization and the application of both methods to evaluate individual vehicle models. Using the ELECTRE I method, the options were classified as either preferred (dominant) or unpreferred (undominant), while the PROMETHEE II ranked them from the best to the worst, preserving viable alternatives should the preferred model be unavailable. The study concludes by emphasizing the relevance of these methods in optimizing the selection of sustainable transport solutions and their broader applicability in the decision-making process on transport and mobility.

Environmental friendliness is beginning to be one of the key aspects in the context of electric vehicle selection, but its final choice is still affected by the standards offered by internal combustion vehicles. In our case, the relevant standards were defined when using the results of a questionnaire survey, the criteria of scales, which are used to compare selected types of electric passenger cars in the conditions of the Czech Republic. The aim of the article is to select an appropriate electric car by using specific techniques of multi-criteria decision making - the Basic Variant method and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The scientific value of the article lies primarily in its applicability to the global environment and the variability possibilities of criteria set and their significance.

However, unlike them, the objective of this manuscript was to propose a new unified methodology to assess the passenger transport timetables in terms of transport connectivity, and subsequently to complexly evaluate the whole predesignated regional transport network from a qualitative point of view. In this paper, the proposed methodology is demonstrated on a particular regional transport network, specifically an existing railway network in the Slovak Republic, whereby the data related to regional passenger transport timetables for a certain day is an input factor. The purpose of this study was to design and verify a draft methodological procedure to assess the quality of transport connectivity on a certain transport network, thus moving towards more effective evaluation of integrated transport systems. Its practical applicability consists in comparison of existing and proposed timetables, which is considered one of the crucial factors in terms of public passenger transport quality.

The aim of this article is to find a rational solution for increasing the safety of level crossings in the Czech Republic on the basis of a set of representative level crossings. The Czech Republic was deliberately chosen because of its geographical location, the number of level crossings on the network, and because, according to statistics from the Rail Safety Inspection Office, the country ranks as one of the highest for the number of accidents at level crossings. The rational solution being sought is one that achieves a balance between legislative, technical, and awareness-raising measures. In the practical part, great emphasis is placed on the assessment of the current state of Czech legislation. The identified discrepancies are resolved by adjusting calculations for overview distances and proposing changes to incorrect provisions. The main contribution of this paper is the comprehensive overview that it provides of level crossings and their safety. This overview includes a description of the current state of affairs, i.e., the number of level crossings, their location, classification, construction and type of equipment used, as well as an analysis of accidents and their frequency. The latter is in relation to the proposed construction and technical solution and subsequent assessment of the rationalisation possibilities and investments required to reconstruct or remove existing level crossings, thereby affecting the accident rate.

This paper deals with waste management. The aim is to find out whether the number of municipal mixed waste bins can be reduced due to the impact of waste separation and to determine the optimum municipal waste collection cycle within a predesignated area with an existing urban road network. The number of mixed waste bins depends on two factors—household waste volume and household waste composition. Both of these factors have a significant impact on the number of mixed waste bins required, with household waste composition being of particular importance when it comes to calculating the potential reduction in the number of mixed waste bins required due to waste separation. The calculations for the weight and volume of mixed household waste per person and the composition (types) thereof are presented accordingly. The results reveal which types of waste are the most useful in minimising the number of mixed waste bins by up to 30–50%. To determine the optimum waste collection cycle within the predesignated area with a real urban road network, the Nearest Neighbour Search method was applied. In the discussion, the focus is on whether other methods, including the Two-Phase Heuristic approach and the Bellman-Ford Algorithm, could be applied to solve the problem, whereby parameters such as application time and the capacity of the waste collection vehicle are compared.

The aim of this article is to modify the parameters and thus the objective function of the deterministic model of inventory theory so that other important aspects, which influence inventory management, can be taken into consideration. These aspects include the nature of inventory consumption, the share of inventories in sales, the capacity of means of transport and, above all, the reliability of suppliers. This goal is achieved by performing sophisticated and specific calculations for the individual parameters in the modified model. The modification of the objective function of the deterministic model has created a new multi-criteria model. The outcome of this model sought to optimize the supply process in a way that minimizes the risks associated with a lack of inventories while maintaining the economic effectiveness thereof. The model effectiveness is examined by comparing the application of the deterministic model and the proposed model with modified objective function. The results of applying these individual models have been produced based on calculations of indicators showing inventory management effectiveness—the speed of inventory turnover and the average number of inventories in storage.

The automotive sector has been experiencing a rapid development in recent times. Modern trends aim at the progress of so-called sustainable, eco-friendly vehicles, in many cases associated with advanced technologies and assistance systems. It is increasingly common to see cars with electric, hybrid, gas or hydrogen propulsion systems. Such approaches can create a transformation of manufacturing processes towards the growth of new types and fields of technologies and systems in the automotive industry. The manuscript discusses the subject of vehicles with various types of power supply, i.e., propulsion system. The investigation was executed with different respondent groups whereby the analysis was performed predominantly by using two merging criteria such as place of residence and gender of respondents. Following the research conducted, we state that given a variety of variables, the majority of the respondents are convinced that, prospectively, electric and hybrid vehicles in all probability will be the prevailing types of vehicles occurring on the roads of the Czech Republic. However, it is also important to analyze the situation of the current access to energy resources for manufacturing of both kinds of vehicles and, above all, their utilization. Thus, the preferences of drivers are key issues, but it is also necessary to take into consideration the production capacity and investment profitability regarding the purchase of vehicles with modern types of propulsion system.

The article presents a research study dealing with the issue of identifying the crucial criteria driving the demand for electric vehicles and decision-making on the ideal electric vehicle choice for the company under investigation. Specifically, the research aimed to identify key factors influencing the decision-making process to purchase electric vans and to propose adequate recommendations when applying adequate multi-criteria decision-making methods, namely, ELECTRE I and PROMETHEE II, in the Czech and Slovak market conditions. The present survey identified six key criteria: mileage, load-carrying capacity, recharging speed, purchase price, load-bearing capacity, and electricity consumption. Based on the expert team preferences, the criteria weights were calculated, followed by data normalization and the application of both methods to evaluate individual vehicle models. Using the ELECTRE I method, the options were classified as either preferred (dominant) or unpreferred (undominant), while the PROMETHEE II ranked them from the best to the worst, preserving viable alternatives should the preferred model be unavailable. The study concludes by emphasizing the relevance of these methods in optimizing the selection of sustainable transport solutions and their broader applicability in the decision-making process on transport and mobility.

Environmental friendliness is beginning to be one of the key aspects in the context of electric vehicle selection, but its final choice is still affected by the standards offered by internal combustion vehicles. In our case, the relevant standards were defined when using the results of a questionnaire survey, the criteria of scales, which are used to compare selected types of electric passenger cars in the conditions of the Czech Republic. The aim of the article is to select an appropriate electric car by using specific techniques of multi-criteria decision making - the Basic Variant method and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The scientific value of the article lies primarily in its applicability to the global environment and the variability possibilities of criteria set and their significance.
