The purpose of the study is to investigate the interrelationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices and green finance (GF) behavior and their collective impact on attaining sustainable tourism in Bangladesh. The study is based on a conceptual method. The relevant information is derived from different websites, publications, and research articles. The tourism industry is an emerging business industry in Bangladesh that has been gradually attracting both domestic and international tourists due to its natural and cultural heritage, diverse landscapes, and historical sites. This industry has been creating job opportunities, alleviating poverty, increasing economic growth, and helping to achieve the SDGs. However, the study found a positive impact between CSR and the adoption of green finance. It demonstrates how businesses that combine CSR practices with green finance can help Bangladesh establish a sustainable tourism industry. Moreover, the result showed that integrating CSR with green finance has encouraged sustainable tourism. In order to achieve sustainable tourism, collaboration with relevant parties has to be enhanced. An education and awareness program has to be implemented to make the business aware of the benefits of CSR practices. Tax incentives and subsidies for corporations will encourage them to engage more in green finance.

AbstractThe key objective of this study is to investigate how capital formation and technological advancement affect foreign direct investment (FDI) generation in Bangladesh and whether money circulation has a positive or negative impact on FDI. This study has used time series data from 1972–2021, and the result of the unit root test indicates an autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model because of stationarity at levels I(0) and I(1). The cointegration test confirms the cointegration among the variables: in the short run and long run, capital formation and technological advancement have a positive impact on FDI; on the other hand, money circulation discourages FDI because of its negative coefficient. The speed of adjustment (CointEq(−1)) is 0.28%, which indicates the estimation moves toward an equilibrium condition from a disequilibrium condition. Causality shows there is bidirectional causality between FDI and money circulation, unidirectional causality between technology and FDI, bidirectional causality between money circulation and capital formation, and unidirectional causality between technology and capital formation. This finding suggests that capital formation should be a great consideration, and technology is also required to expand FDI volume. Further study would include considering other macroeconomic variables such as labor, human resources, and energy issues.

This study looks at the short- and long-term effects of fossil fuels, renewable energy, and nuclear energy on CO2 emissions in the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries from 1982 to 2021. We assess the impacts of SAARC’s current and anticipated use of nuclear, fossil, and alternative energies by testing the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) hypothesis. The study applied the second-generation unit root test, cointegration test, and the newly introduced AMG technique to handle the presence of cross-sectional dependence. The results indicate that EKC does not hold in SAARC, and a U-shaped quadratic link exists between GDP and environmental pollution. The findings also reveal that the environmental pollution in the SAARC is caused by fossil fuel, whereas using renewable (REN) and nuclear energy can cut long-term pollution. While renewable energy is critical to minimizing environmental deterioration in SAARC, empirical findings also show that more than rising national wealth is needed to meet environmental demands. According to the results of this study, SAARC countries should take the lead in achieving sustainable growth and the efficient use of clean energy.

ABSTRACTThe child mortality rate for children under five years of age is a major problem worldwide. The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors responsible for controlling the under-5 mortality rate in G-7 countries. The study utilized monthly time series data from 1971 to 2021 and employed Grossman’s health production function with Driscoll-Kraay’s standard error estimation approach for all statistical analyses. The results showed that economic expansion and the use of renewable energy contribute to the reduction of under-5 mortality rates in G-7 countries, whereas fossil fuels, industrialization, education, and unemployment contribute to the increase in mortality rates. The robust results also revealed that GDP, renewable energy, and education help mitigate under-5 mortality rates in G-7 countries. This analysis plays an essential role in helping G-7 countries reduce their under-5 mortality rates while considering environmental sustainability. Additionally, the required discussions and policy recommendations are also presented.

Climate change resulting from increasing emissions has become a pressing concern in North African countries due to its significant environmental and socio-economic impacts. There is a need for extensive research on this topic to raise global awareness of the associated dangers. This study investigates the dynamic impact of economic growth, military expenditure, globalization, renewable energy, manufacturing, tourism, capital formation, and labor on CO2 emissions in North African countries from 1995 to 2021. The long-term results of the ARDL model reveal that globalization, renewable energy and capital formation have a negative impact on CO2 emissions, whereas economic growth, manufacturing, and tourism exhibit a positive impact. Pairwise Granger causality evidence indicates unidirectional causality from economic growth, globalization, military expenditure, manufacturing, tourism, and capital formation to CO2 emissions. These findings provide policymakers with critical insights to shape evidence-based interventions that promote renewable energy investments and globalization, enhance capital formation and high-skilled labor, and implement regulations to mitigate the environmental impacts of economic growth, military expenditure, manufacturing, and tourism. This guidance will help the region transition to a more environmentally friendly economic system.

This study examines the role of green financing and energy production to mitigate climate change in emerging economies like Bangladesh. In today’s world, climate change is a significant issue that impacts humans on an environmental, social, and economic level. However, this study aims to explain how to mitigate climate change with the support of green finance and green energy in Bangladesh. The study uses mixed methods to conduct the research, such as quantitative and qualitative methods. In this particular case, the study identified several crucial factors that contribute to the effects of climate change. Two environmentally friendly tools, like green finance and green energy, are used to fight climate change. Green finance, comprising financial instruments like green bonds and loans, finances significant investments in environmental projects, particularly renewable energy, that promote the transition to a greener, low-carbon economy and ultimately help to combat climate change. Solar, wind, hydropower, biomass, and biofuels are the common green energy production technologies in Bangladesh, which can play a pivotal role in reducing climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In Bangladesh, green finance contributes to investment in green energy projects, innovation in clean energy technologies, investment risk management, and energy transitions, according to the research. The study suggests valuable implications for the Bangladesh government, policymakers, and other policymakers taking effective initiatives to protect Bangladesh from the gulf of devastating climate change.

The main purpose of this study was to examine how tourism, GDP, renewable energy, and fossil fuels cause environmental damage. This study examined ten African countries between 1997 and 2021 to test the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) theory. Egypt, South Africa, Kenya, Morocco, Tanzania, Tunisia, Mauritius, Ghana, Uganda, and Nigeria are the ten African countries with the most tourists. In this paper, the augmented mean group (AMG), mean group (MG), and common correlated effects mean group (CCEMG) models were used to deal with slope heterogeneity (SH), cross-sectional dependence (CSD), and a mix of first-differenced and level stationary variables. Though the inverted U-shaped exists, the findings are significant only for MG. The impact of renewable energy is favorable for the environment and significant for the AMG estimator. Inversely, impact of tourist arrivals and fossil fuels are detrimental for environment and significant. Based on the findings for each country, the tourism-based EKC theory only works for Kenya, Egypt, and Tanzania. The research found that using more renewable energy minimizes CO2 emissions more effectively in almost all countries except Morocco and Ghana. Ghana, Kenya, and Uganda’s CO2 emissions increase when more tourists come from other countries. For the sake of both tourism and the environment, the government must reconsider its tourism policies and implement ones that include renewable energy. The findings of this study assist in the transition to clean energy, aiding in sustainable tourism growth. As a result, selected countries should develop a new tourism plan that focuses on renewable energy sources and protects the environment.

The effects of ethanol extract of Trigonella foenum-graecum (Fenugreek) seeds on the blood glucose levels in alloxan-induced diabetic rats at different doses (2 g/kg, 1 g/kg, 0.5 g/kg and 0.1 g/kg) were studied. The hypoglycemic effect of extract was compared with that of the standard antidiabetic drug (glimepiride, 4 mg/kg) single dose. The extract showed significant activity against the diabetic state induced by alloxan but the intensity of hypoglycemic effect varied from dose to dose. The most effective dose recognized was 1 g/kg but that is still lower than the standard antidiabetic drug. No acute toxicity was observed for ethanol extract of T. foenum-graecum seed when it was administered orally at high dose level (3 g/kg body weight), which is higher than effective antihyperglycemic dose, and closely observed for 24 hrs for any mortality and next 10 days for any delayed toxic effects on gross behavioral activities. Phytochemical group tests were also accomplished and presence of alkaloids, steroids and carbohydrates were recognized in the extract.

In developing economies, there is a lack of certainty in energy and environmental economic policy. In contrast, research into the interplay between population, economic growth (GDP), renewable energy, nuclear energy, fossil fuels, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions has received comparatively little attention. Thus, the main motive of this exploration is to analyze the influence of population, economic growth, and various energy sources consumption on the selected South Asian economy's GHG emissions using the STIRPAT model. The period 1972–2021 is used to estimate results by considering cross-sectional dependence (CSD) and slope homogeneity (SH) tests, as well as second-generation unit root and cointegration tests. Due to the presence of SH, CSD, and mixed-order unit root problems, the cross-sectional autoregressive distributive lag (CS-ARDL) model has been used to estimate the value of selected variables. The impact of GDP and population is positive but insignificant for South Asian countries in the short run, but GDP is significant in the long run. The research also revealed that burning fossil fuels significantly contributes to atmospheric gas emissions level. In addition, renewable and nuclear energy play useful and substantial roles in reducing pollution in South Asian countries. Therefore, it is recommended that the economies of the South Asian countries maintain a uniform approach to economic policy to fully benefit from the advantages of increased green and safe energy production.

Primary purpose of this study is to investigate the nature and causes of environmental deterioration in selected Eastern African countries, specifically how tourism and afforestation can help decrease CO2 emissions, using panel data from 1990 to 2021. The study examines how tourism can lead to environmental harm by causing habitat destruction and pollution, while also considering its role in promoting sustainable development and conservation. Tourism is variable and has a positive effect on CO2 emissions. A one percent increase in tourism in Eastern African countries often leads to a corresponding 0.08 percent rise in CO2 emissions. The research examines how effective afforestation is in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving ecosystem resilience. A one percent increase in the service sector contribution results in a 0.82 percent reduction in CO2 emissions. In addition, a one percent increase in forest area tends to reduce CO2 emissions by 0.53 percent in Eastern African countries. Afforestation helps to capture carbon dioxide, supports ecosystem restoration, and supports ecosystem restoration and biodiversity protection. The research thoroughly analyzes these aspects to offer insights and recommendations for policymakers and stakeholders to undertake effective actions to reduce environmental degradation and promote sustainable development in Eastern Africa.
