    Le poisson est la protéine animale la plus préférée et la plus consommée au Ghana, avec une consommation annuelle par habitant estimée à 26 kg par rapport à la moyenne mondiale de 20 kg. Le secteur de la pêche du Ghana fournit un soutien aux moyens de subsistance de 2,4 millions de personnes et contribue à hauteur de 1,5 % au produit intérieur brut du pays. L'augmentation récente de la production de poisson est attribuée à l'aquaculture et à la pêche basée sur la culture. Cependant, le secteur de l'aquaculture est confronté à un défi de durabilité. Cette étude visait à identifier et à examiner les perspectives de développement durable de l'aquaculture au Ghana en utilisant la zone de pêche Sunyani comme étude de cas. Plus précisément, les questions suivantes ont été posées : quels sont les facteurs importants pour le développement de l'aquaculture pour l'agriculteur opérationnel et non opérationnel ? Quels sont les facteurs climatologiques et environnementaux qui menacent le développement de l'aquaculture ? Dans quelle mesure l'eau, les ressources humaines et financières affectent-elles la durabilité du développement de l'aquaculture au Ghana ? Les méthodes utilisées pour la collecte de données étaient les suivantes : enquête sur les fermes et entretiens avec les aquaculteurs, analyse de documents et observation des fermes piscicoles. Les données ont été analysées à l'aide de statistiques descriptives. Les résultats indiquent que l'établissement du marché, l'accessibilité financière des aliments pour animaux et le financement des agriculteurs sont les domaines importants pour la croissance de l'aquaculture. El sector pesquero de Ghana proporciona medios de subsistencia a 2,4 millones de personas y contribuye con el 1,5% al producto interno bruto del país. El reciente aumento de la producción pesquera se atribuye a la acuicultura y la pesca basada en el cultivo. Sin embargo, el sector de la acuicultura se enfrenta a un reto de sostenibilidad. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar y examinar las perspectivas de desarrollo sostenible de la acuicultura en Ghana utilizando la Zona de Pesca Sunyani como estudio de caso. Específicamente, se hicieron las siguientes preguntas: ¿cuáles son los factores importantes para el desarrollo de la acuicultura tanto para el agricultor operativo como para el no operativo? ¿Cuáles son los factores climatológicos y ambientales que amenazan el desarrollo de la acuicultura? ¿En qué medida afectan los recursos hídricos, humanos y financieros a la sostenibilidad del desarrollo de la acuicultura en Ghana? Los métodos empleados para la recopilación de datos fueron; encuesta de granjas y entrevistas con acuicultores, análisis de documentos y observación de piscifactorías. Fish is the most preferred and widely consumed animal protein in Ghana, with annual per capita consumption estimated at 26 kg compared with the global average of 20 kg. The fisheries sector of Ghana provides livelihood support to 2.4 million people and contribute 1.5% to the nation's gross domestic product. Recent increase in fish production is attributed to aquaculture and culture-based fisheries. However, the aquaculture sector is facing a challenge of sustainability. This study was aimed at identifying and examing the prospects of sustainable aquaculture development in Ghana using the Sunyani Fisheries Zone as a case study. Specifically, the following questions were asked: what are the important factors for aquaculture development for both the operational and non-operational farmer? What are the climatological and environmental factors that pose threat to aquaculture development? To what extent does water, human and financial resources affect the sustainability of aquaculture development in Ghana? The methods employed for data collection were; farm survey and interviews with aquafarmers, document analysis, and fish farm observation. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results indicate that market establishment, affordability of feed and funding for farmers are the important areas for aquaculture growth. Changing weather patterns and related disasters like floods, droughts, and erosions have negatively impacted on the aquaculture industry and, have reduced its production and profitability. Poor pond effluent management also poses an ecological threat through introduction of non-native species.     Résumé Le biote marin se redistribue à un rythme rapide en réponse au changement climatique et à l'évolution des paysages marins. Alors que les changements dans les populations de poissons et la structure des communautés menacent la durabilité des pêches, notre capacité à nous adapter en suivant et en projetant les espèces marines reste un défi en raison des discontinuités des données dans les observations biologiques, du manque de données disponibles et de l'inadéquation entre les données et les distributions réelles des espèces. Pour évaluer l'ampleur de ce défi, nous passons en revue le statut mondial et l'accessibilité des enquêtes scientifiques en cours sur le chalut de fond. Para evaluar el alcance de este desafío, revisamos el estado global y la accesibilidad de los estudios científicos en curso sobre redes de arrastre de fondo. Abstract Marine biota are redistributing at a rapid pace in response to climate change and shifting seascapes. While changes in fish populations and community structure threaten the sustainability of fisheries, our capacity to adapt by tracking and projecting marine species remains a challenge due to data discontinuities in biological observations, lack of data availability, and mismatch between data and real species distributions. To assess the extent of this challenge, we review the global status and accessibility of ongoing scientific bottom trawl surveys. In total, we gathered metadata for 283,925 samples from 95 surveys conducted regularly from 2001 to 2019. We identified that 59% of the metadata collected are not publicly available, highlighting that the availability of data is the most important challenge to assess species redistributions under global climate change. Given that the primary purpose of surveys is to provide independent data to inform stock assessment of commercially important populations, we further highlight that single surveys do not cover the full range of the main commercial demersal fish species. An average of 18 surveys is needed to cover at least 50% of species ranges, demonstrating the importance of combining multiple surveys to evaluate species range shifts. We assess the potential for combining surveys to track transboundary species redistributions and show that differences in sampling schemes and inconsistency in sampling can be overcome with spatio‐temporal modeling to follow species density redistributions. In light of our global assessment, we establish a framework for improving the management and conservation of transboundary and migrating marine demersal species.     Le poisson est la protéine animale la plus préférée et la plus consommée au Ghana, avec une consommation annuelle par habitant estimée à 26 kg par rapport à la moyenne mondiale de 20 kg. Le secteur de la pêche du Ghana fournit un soutien aux moyens de subsistance de 2,4 millions de personnes et contribue à hauteur de 1,5 % au produit intérieur brut du pays. El reciente aumento de la producción pesquera se atribuye a la acuicultura y la pesca basada en el cultivo. Sin embargo, el sector de la acuicultura se enfrenta a un reto de sostenibilidad. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar y examinar las perspectivas de desarrollo sostenible de la acuicultura en Ghana utilizando la Zona de Pesca Sunyani como estudio de caso. Fish is the most preferred and widely consumed animal protein in Ghana, with annual per capita consumption estimated at 26 kg compared with the global average of 20 kg. The fisheries sector of Ghana provides livelihood support to 2.4 million people and contribute 1.5% to the nation's gross domestic product. Recent increase in fish production is attributed to aquaculture and culture-based fisheries. However, the aquaculture sector is facing a challenge of sustainability. This study was aimed at identifying and examing the prospects of sustainable aquaculture development in Ghana using the Sunyani Fisheries Zone as a case study. Specifically, the following questions were asked: what are the important factors for aquaculture development for both the operational and non-operational farmer? What are the climatological and environmental factors that pose threat to aquaculture development? To what extent does water, human and financial resources affect the sustainability of aquaculture development in Ghana? The methods employed for data collection were; farm survey and interviews with aquafarmers, document analysis, and fish farm observation. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results indicate that market establishment, affordability of feed and funding for farmers are the important areas for aquaculture growth. Changing weather patterns and related disasters like floods, droughts, and erosions have negatively impacted on the aquaculture industry and, have reduced its production and profitability. Poor pond effluent management also poses an ecological threat through introduction of non-native species.     Résumé Le biote marin se redistribue à un rythme rapide en réponse au changement climatique et à l'évolution des paysages marins. Alors que les changements dans les populations de poissons et la structure des communautés menacent la durabilité des pêches, notre capacité à nous adapter en suivant et en projetant les espèces marines reste un défi en raison des discontinuités des données dans les observations biologiques, du manque de données disponibles et de l'inadéquation entre les données et les distributions réelles des espèces. Para evaluar el alcance de este desafío, revisamos el estado global y la accesibilidad de los estudios científicos en curso sobre redes de arrastre de fondo. Given that the primary purpose of surveys is to provide independent data to inform stock assessment of commercially important populations, we further highlight that single surveys do not cover the full range of the main commercial demersal fish species. An average of 18 surveys is needed to cover at least 50% of species ranges, demonstrating the importance of combining multiple surveys to evaluate species range shifts. We assess the potential for combining surveys to track transboundary species redistributions and show that differences in sampling schemes and inconsistency in sampling can be overcome with spatio‐temporal modeling to follow species density redistributions. In light of our global assessment, we establish a framework for improving the management and conservation of transboundary and migrating marine demersal species.
