    Accurately recognizing the influence of excavation disturbance on the traversing cross-type deep foundation pit of the subway, determining the active range of the disturbance, and reasonably arranging the structure within its range can effectively ensure the safety of the project and save resources to achieve the goal of sustainable development. A three-dimensional model was established using the soil small strain hardening model to examine the subway deep foundation pit project in the CBD (central business district) core area of Fuzhou Coastal New City, where the soil is mainly soft soil with high natural water content, high compressibility, and weak permeability. The model was verified against the theoretical solution of Melan, and the deformation characteristics of the cross-asymmetric foundation pit excavation were analyzed. The results show that, due to repeated disturbance from excavation and unloading between the foundation pits, the soil arching effect, and changes in the boundary conditions, the structure at the intersection and the surrounding soil interact. The horizontal displacement of the retaining structure and the surrounding surface settlement are quite different from those observed from a single foundation pit excavation. For instance, the maximum horizontal displacement of profile 1-3 in Zone I decreases by 26.1%, while the maximum horizontal displacement of profile 1-1 in Zone II increases by 20.4%, and the maximum surface settlement around the profiles also has similar characteristics. The disturbance on the retaining structure and soil in different areas at the intersection can be divided into positive and negative effects. The active range of the “disturbance influence zone” is determined: the foundation pit of Metro Line 6 is 3.5 He and the foundation pit of Metro Line F1 is 3.0 He. Finally, the influence of changes in the groundwater level on the active range of the “disturbance influence zone” is discussed.

    The purpose of the research is to develop and justify a fish-protection structure that is capable of improving the protection of young fish and the ecological condition at the reclamation water intake of a hydraulic structure. This protection method prevents young fish from being sucked into the water intake structure by establishing a fish-protection screen across the waterway using ozone-air mixture and filter cassettes. This structure reduces the risk of young fish’s entering the intake structure, improves the immunity of young fish, and saturates the water with ozone.

    Abstract The paper reports about the project for powering the off grid standalone 3 kW power consumer in Arctic, which could be further replicated and scaled up to 50 kW power with minor changes. The project was targeted on the development of autonomous Wind-Hydrogen Powered Plant with the Wind Turbine for initial power generation and Hydrogen Module serving as Uninterruptible Power Supply, for universal usage in any point of the World including the cold zones of Arctic and Antarctic, deserts of Africa and isolated islands characterized by destructive sea salt fogs. At the same time, the equipment is clean, continuous operating, long-lasting and maximally reliable, with no polluting or greenhouse emissions. The components of the Power Plant are developed for the unified DC voltage with an option of adding more on the DC bus bar, scaling the power of the Plant up. It presents a flexibility and modularity in combination with the scalable Hydrogen Storage capacity suitable for different demands of distributed energy consumers including both residential and small business. The comprehensive analysis of the renewable energy sources and in particular wind turbines included the study of the main known types and classes. As a result, the choice was made in favor of proprietary design of innovative multi-tier scalable Vertical Axis Wind Turbine as a main power source, the uninterrupted supply part of which is based on the looped cycle Hydrogen Module containing Electrolyser Module, Fuel Cells Assembly System and Hydrogen Storage with communication and control equipment. The intelligent control algorithms optimize the operation of the Plant minimizing the start-stop cycling phases, stretching the servicing periods and extending the lifetime of the equipment. Remote control provides monitoring and managing all processes of power generation and hydrogen storage via Internet anytime, almost anywhere. The project has proved the presented equipment as long-live, reliable and environmentally friendly, as well as modular and flexible, easily scaled under consumer's control, covering the big power consumption range from personal to small business scale. The developed Power Plant is affordable for the remote energy consumers as the estimated equipment value is correlating with the cost of power line installation using no deep engineering or technological skills.

    Abstract The digital transformation of the economy is the next stage in the development of the social production system, characterized by the massive introduction of digital technologies in all spheres of human life. The diversity of digital technologies and the tasks solved by them determine objectively the need to develop certain standards of information interaction between subjects of the digital economy and the use of special tools that implement the integration functions of heterogeneous digital technologies. The digital platforms, which are a set of software and hardware tools for implementation of organizational, managerial, technical and technological solutions, can be considered as a basic tool for the integration of heterogeneous digital technologies, that provide the necessary conditions for the formation of a common information space of information interacting subjects and for the digitalization of these interactions as part of solving applied problems of the digital development of economic systems. The tasks of universal and specialized digital platforms designing and developing are among the priorities in the development of the digital transformation concept of macroeconomic systems, individual industries, spheres of activity and economic subjects.

    Effective use of renewable energy requires a system of energy legislation that meets modern challenges. Although, in large countries, climate and socioeconomic factors in different regions can significantly vary and can affect the regional legislation regulating renewable energy sources, careful reproduction of good practices and successful experiences of other regions are a good basis for the development of legislation. The comparative method of legal research was the main method used to achieve the objectives set in this study. Based on the results, a number of recommendations were developed to consolidate and expand the powers of regional regulators in the field of renewable energy, to include an economic assessment of the effectiveness of state programs, to use tax incentives for renewable energy projects, and to introduce restrictions on the use of petroleum products. Recommendations were also made to improve regional legislation on renewable energy sources in terms of legal techniques. Further development of this study would contribute to the improvement of regional legal regulation and would accelerate the transition to “green” energy.

    The aim of the present article is substantiation of theoretical provisions and development of practical recommendations for reporting in the field of sustainable development formation in compliance with the international standard “Guidelines for sustainability reporting” elaborated within the scope of Global Reporting Initiative. The research objectives are as follows: to study the content of non-financial reporting generated in compliance with the GRI guidelines and to offer new methodological approaches towards sustainability reporting formation. Using such general scientific methods as systematic approach, comparison, method of systematization and generalization of data, the research work revealed the essence, content, principles of formation and reporting structure in the field of sustainable development. The work contains recommendations on social activity of accounting organization with the use of information technology, such as: supplementary invoices application for accounting and development of forms for reports containing information of social character.

    The paper deals with the environmental issues of agriculture. Examples are given that pose a threat to the vital activity of living organisms from various types of agricultural and human activities. The subject of the study is the analysis of environmental issues arising from the intensification of the development of agricultural industry. Intensive agricultural activity leads to pollution of surface rivers, lakes, seas and groundwater, soil degradation and aquatic ecosystems; violation of the water regime in large areas during drainage and irrigation; desertification due to wind erosion; destruction of natural habitats of living organisms of flora and fauna. An urgent problem of agriculture is a decrease in the content of vitamins and microelements in crop production and the accumulation of harmful substances in them. The reasons for these negative processes are soil degradation, intensification of agricultural production.

    Исследование ландшафтов всегда было традиционным научным направлением географии. В России подобная направленность исследований остаётся актуальной, несмотря на то, что термины «геоэкология» и «ландшафтная экология» сегодня более распространены в англоязычном научном сообществе. Наш краткий обзор показывает значительное ускорение антропогенных ландшафтных изменений в Европе, Центральной Азии и азиатской части России за последние пять десятилетий. Ландшафтные исследования в антропоцене должны быть направлены на достижение и сохранение устойчивости ландшафта при его высокой производительности, что включает в себя прекращение деградации ландшафтов, развитие культурных и сохранение природных ландшафтов. Чистая вода и чистый воздух, плодородные и здоровые почвы для производства продуктов питания и других экосистемных услуг, а также биологически разнообразная зеленая среда являются атрибутами ландшафтов, обеспечивающих выживание и благополучие населения. Дисциплинарные и междисциплинарные исследования должны генерировать знания, инновации и правила принятия действенных решений. Генерация знаний в глобализованном мире основана на сборе больших массивов данных и моделировании сценариев. Международные длительные полевые опыты и системы агроэкологического мониторинга будут предоставлять данные для экосистемных моделей и систем поддержки принимаемых решений. Landscape research has been a traditional scientific discipline of geography. This is still the case in Russia, whilst the terms geo-ecology and landscape ecology have become established in the English speaking scientific community. Our short review reveals huge and accelerating anthropogenic landscape transformations in Europe, Central Asia and Asian Russia since the end the 1960s. Landscape research in the Anthropocene has to focus on achieving landscape sustainability at high productivity. This includes halting landscape degradation, developing cultural landscapes, and maintaining semi-natural landscapes. Clean water and air, fertile and healthy soils for food and other ecosystem services and a green and bio-diverse environment are attributes of landscapes for the survival and well-being of humans. Research has to generate knowledge, innovations and decision rules by disciplinary, interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary work. Knowledge generation in a globalized world is based on big data gathering and scenario modelling. International long-term experiments and agri-environmental monitoring systems will deliver data for ecosystem models and decision support systems.

    Accurately recognizing the influence of excavation disturbance on the traversing cross-type deep foundation pit of the subway, determining the active range of the disturbance, and reasonably arranging the structure within its range can effectively ensure the safety of the project and save resources to achieve the goal of sustainable development. A three-dimensional model was established using the soil small strain hardening model to examine the subway deep foundation pit project in the CBD (central business district) core area of Fuzhou Coastal New City, where the soil is mainly soft soil with high natural water content, high compressibility, and weak permeability. The model was verified against the theoretical solution of Melan, and the deformation characteristics of the cross-asymmetric foundation pit excavation were analyzed. The results show that, due to repeated disturbance from excavation and unloading between the foundation pits, the soil arching effect, and changes in the boundary conditions, the structure at the intersection and the surrounding soil interact. The horizontal displacement of the retaining structure and the surrounding surface settlement are quite different from those observed from a single foundation pit excavation. For instance, the maximum horizontal displacement of profile 1-3 in Zone I decreases by 26.1%, while the maximum horizontal displacement of profile 1-1 in Zone II increases by 20.4%, and the maximum surface settlement around the profiles also has similar characteristics. The disturbance on the retaining structure and soil in different areas at the intersection can be divided into positive and negative effects. The active range of the “disturbance influence zone” is determined: the foundation pit of Metro Line 6 is 3.5 He and the foundation pit of Metro Line F1 is 3.0 He. Finally, the influence of changes in the groundwater level on the active range of the “disturbance influence zone” is discussed.

    The purpose of the research is to develop and justify a fish-protection structure that is capable of improving the protection of young fish and the ecological condition at the reclamation water intake of a hydraulic structure. This protection method prevents young fish from being sucked into the water intake structure by establishing a fish-protection screen across the waterway using ozone-air mixture and filter cassettes. This structure reduces the risk of young fish’s entering the intake structure, improves the immunity of young fish, and saturates the water with ozone.

    Abstract The paper reports about the project for powering the off grid standalone 3 kW power consumer in Arctic, which could be further replicated and scaled up to 50 kW power with minor changes. The project was targeted on the development of autonomous Wind-Hydrogen Powered Plant with the Wind Turbine for initial power generation and Hydrogen Module serving as Uninterruptible Power Supply, for universal usage in any point of the World including the cold zones of Arctic and Antarctic, deserts of Africa and isolated islands characterized by destructive sea salt fogs. At the same time, the equipment is clean, continuous operating, long-lasting and maximally reliable, with no polluting or greenhouse emissions. The components of the Power Plant are developed for the unified DC voltage with an option of adding more on the DC bus bar, scaling the power of the Plant up. It presents a flexibility and modularity in combination with the scalable Hydrogen Storage capacity suitable for different demands of distributed energy consumers including both residential and small business. The comprehensive analysis of the renewable energy sources and in particular wind turbines included the study of the main known types and classes. As a result, the choice was made in favor of proprietary design of innovative multi-tier scalable Vertical Axis Wind Turbine as a main power source, the uninterrupted supply part of which is based on the looped cycle Hydrogen Module containing Electrolyser Module, Fuel Cells Assembly System and Hydrogen Storage with communication and control equipment. The intelligent control algorithms optimize the operation of the Plant minimizing the start-stop cycling phases, stretching the servicing periods and extending the lifetime of the equipment. Remote control provides monitoring and managing all processes of power generation and hydrogen storage via Internet anytime, almost anywhere. The project has proved the presented equipment as long-live, reliable and environmentally friendly, as well as modular and flexible, easily scaled under consumer's control, covering the big power consumption range from personal to small business scale. The developed Power Plant is affordable for the remote energy consumers as the estimated equipment value is correlating with the cost of power line installation using no deep engineering or technological skills.

    Abstract The digital transformation of the economy is the next stage in the development of the social production system, characterized by the massive introduction of digital technologies in all spheres of human life. The diversity of digital technologies and the tasks solved by them determine objectively the need to develop certain standards of information interaction between subjects of the digital economy and the use of special tools that implement the integration functions of heterogeneous digital technologies. The digital platforms, which are a set of software and hardware tools for implementation of organizational, managerial, technical and technological solutions, can be considered as a basic tool for the integration of heterogeneous digital technologies, that provide the necessary conditions for the formation of a common information space of information interacting subjects and for the digitalization of these interactions as part of solving applied problems of the digital development of economic systems. The tasks of universal and specialized digital platforms designing and developing are among the priorities in the development of the digital transformation concept of macroeconomic systems, individual industries, spheres of activity and economic subjects.

    Effective use of renewable energy requires a system of energy legislation that meets modern challenges. Although, in large countries, climate and socioeconomic factors in different regions can significantly vary and can affect the regional legislation regulating renewable energy sources, careful reproduction of good practices and successful experiences of other regions are a good basis for the development of legislation. The comparative method of legal research was the main method used to achieve the objectives set in this study. Based on the results, a number of recommendations were developed to consolidate and expand the powers of regional regulators in the field of renewable energy, to include an economic assessment of the effectiveness of state programs, to use tax incentives for renewable energy projects, and to introduce restrictions on the use of petroleum products. Recommendations were also made to improve regional legislation on renewable energy sources in terms of legal techniques. Further development of this study would contribute to the improvement of regional legal regulation and would accelerate the transition to “green” energy.

    The aim of the present article is substantiation of theoretical provisions and development of practical recommendations for reporting in the field of sustainable development formation in compliance with the international standard “Guidelines for sustainability reporting” elaborated within the scope of Global Reporting Initiative. The research objectives are as follows: to study the content of non-financial reporting generated in compliance with the GRI guidelines and to offer new methodological approaches towards sustainability reporting formation. Using such general scientific methods as systematic approach, comparison, method of systematization and generalization of data, the research work revealed the essence, content, principles of formation and reporting structure in the field of sustainable development. The work contains recommendations on social activity of accounting organization with the use of information technology, such as: supplementary invoices application for accounting and development of forms for reports containing information of social character.

    The paper deals with the environmental issues of agriculture. Examples are given that pose a threat to the vital activity of living organisms from various types of agricultural and human activities. The subject of the study is the analysis of environmental issues arising from the intensification of the development of agricultural industry. Intensive agricultural activity leads to pollution of surface rivers, lakes, seas and groundwater, soil degradation and aquatic ecosystems; violation of the water regime in large areas during drainage and irrigation; desertification due to wind erosion; destruction of natural habitats of living organisms of flora and fauna. An urgent problem of agriculture is a decrease in the content of vitamins and microelements in crop production and the accumulation of harmful substances in them. The reasons for these negative processes are soil degradation, intensification of agricultural production.

    Исследование ландшафтов всегда было традиционным научным направлением географии. В России подобная направленность исследований остаётся актуальной, несмотря на то, что термины «геоэкология» и «ландшафтная экология» сегодня более распространены в англоязычном научном сообществе. Наш краткий обзор показывает значительное ускорение антропогенных ландшафтных изменений в Европе, Центральной Азии и азиатской части России за последние пять десятилетий. Ландшафтные исследования в антропоцене должны быть направлены на достижение и сохранение устойчивости ландшафта при его высокой производительности, что включает в себя прекращение деградации ландшафтов, развитие культурных и сохранение природных ландшафтов. Чистая вода и чистый воздух, плодородные и здоровые почвы для производства продуктов питания и других экосистемных услуг, а также биологически разнообразная зеленая среда являются атрибутами ландшафтов, обеспечивающих выживание и благополучие населения. Дисциплинарные и междисциплинарные исследования должны генерировать знания, инновации и правила принятия действенных решений. Генерация знаний в глобализованном мире основана на сборе больших массивов данных и моделировании сценариев. Международные длительные полевые опыты и системы агроэкологического мониторинга будут предоставлять данные для экосистемных моделей и систем поддержки принимаемых решений. Landscape research has been a traditional scientific discipline of geography. This is still the case in Russia, whilst the terms geo-ecology and landscape ecology have become established in the English speaking scientific community. Our short review reveals huge and accelerating anthropogenic landscape transformations in Europe, Central Asia and Asian Russia since the end the 1960s. Landscape research in the Anthropocene has to focus on achieving landscape sustainability at high productivity. This includes halting landscape degradation, developing cultural landscapes, and maintaining semi-natural landscapes. Clean water and air, fertile and healthy soils for food and other ecosystem services and a green and bio-diverse environment are attributes of landscapes for the survival and well-being of humans. Research has to generate knowledge, innovations and decision rules by disciplinary, interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary work. Knowledge generation in a globalized world is based on big data gathering and scenario modelling. International long-term experiments and agri-environmental monitoring systems will deliver data for ecosystem models and decision support systems.
