description Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Article 2023Publisher:Zenodo Authors: SOUZA, José Arilson de; RODRIGUES, Raimundo Nonato; The Constitutional Financing Fund of the North (FNO), created through the Constitutional Funds, has the objective of promoting the development of the North Region, constituting the main financial instrument of the National Policy for Regional Development (PNDR) for the reduction of regional disparities. With the growth and development of the region, new questions and concerns regarding sustainability in the business environment were generated. In this sense, the Sustainability Tripod and its extension, the Multiple Bottom Line, were proposed in order to analyze the economic, social, environmental, ethical and governance dimensions. In this sense, the present work sought to identify the reality of the dimensions of sustainability in the environment of micro and small companies of the Portal da Amazônia that used the resource of the Constitutional Fund for Financing of the North (FNO) for business development. To capture the data, a field survey was carried out with 111 companies that used FNO resources in the period from 2018 to 2022. After the survey, Excel was used for data processing and subsequent analysis. As a result, in the economic dimension, the ability of micro and small companies to expand their revenues was identified, with the responsibility of expanding the use of facilities and an integrated corporate composition to guarantee the economic life of the entity. In the environmental dimension, business actions involving the issuance of environmental licenses and their practices in the operation of the business were observed, while in the social dimension, the expansion of the supply of job openings and an organization dedicated to serving people could be seen. In the Governance dimension, actions of administrative responsibility, control and good practices by the companies interviewed were observed. Closing the context of the dimensions, ethics guides the business of micro and small companies surveyed. Responsibility with the business, both internally and externally, signals an important emphasis on this dimension. The outputs obtained provided the opportunity for theoretical generalizations regarding the confrontation of the reality described in the dimensions of sustainability in the business environment of micro and small companies of the Amazon portal and the theoretical framework that involves the theme.

Nowadays, European energy security largely depends on the regional dynamics of its borders to the North and South, as well as the dimensions of security understood by its neighbours and partners. In this dissertation it’s examined the hypothesis that European energy security cannot be achieved solely through the diversification of suppliers and supply routes, but that it is also necessary to attribute it with a dimension of regional security. In this context, the Mediterranean Sea region is presented as being the holder of the resources needed to complement the European energy supply lines, analyzing the ability of the development of alternative energies in the region able to respond to the high energy consumption of the European Union.

This on grid solution is based on the SMA Flexible Storage System using innovative technologies for energy production, storage and. The microgrid is based on a cluster of three battery inverters which establish a three-phase supplying system. The hydro energy is generated using a low head, pico-hydro propeller turbine, and a horizontal wheel of a mill. Both are tied to the microgrid through an innovative solution, connecting generators to photovoltaic inverters. The photovoltaic energy is produced by means of highperformance photovoltaic conventional modules that will be mounted on the roof of the House of Silk and the components of hydropower generation will be installed inside the gallery of a former mill. info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion

--------------------------------------------The present work looks to make a list of the presence or absence of equity capital like resource for the sustainability de of cooperatives agricultural industries. Supposes that the gifted cooperatives of elevated level of stock of social capital have bigger sustainability than those who have a less level of social capital. The objective is to check the impact of the existence or not of equity capital in the progress of the cooperatives agribusiness COOPEMOVA and COCEDRO, for that this work used the case study of two cooperatives agricultural industries. The data were got by means of observation in the ambience of the cooperatives and of application of two questionnaires. One checked in this work that the endowed COOPEMOVA of bigger level of social capital was also the one that revealed bigger rate of satisfaction of the cooperated ones, like was of waiting; the reverse showed to the COCEDRO, with less level of social capital and of satisfaction of the cooperated ones. These results corroborated to the proposition of which the social capital is basic for the maintenance of cooperatives agricultural industries, which more in environments that lack for bigger investment and incentives of the public government so is a sector that has if shown strongly in the agricultural Brazilian exports. The simple existence of equity capital does not resolve the problems, but his targeting for the action and combined with other resources it can contribute in much to the productive and social result of the cooperatives agricultural industries, producing an economical sustainable development for the State or Region.

Thus, the controversy ofclean energygeneration is presented in detail in plants of a subtropical climate (Northern Brazil), taking as an empirical investigation the Brazilian Plant called Hydroelectric Belo Monte, located in Pará. The methodology used to describe the controversy was the cartography of the controversy (Latour, 2016). In the end, it is demonstrated that the "reality" is fabricated by technoscientific studies that direct the analysis of the studies excluding important variables of their equations generating environmental conflicts related to the controversy of the clean energy.

This paper is focused in the analysis of the importance of using sustainability indicators in the development of intervention strategies for urban sustainable regeneration of Portuguese cities. The study, which is part of a joint project between iiSBE Portugal and the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Minho, aims at developing a manual to support the development of more sustainable cities, in order to overcome the lack of a national instrument that promotes the regeneration of the cities by supporting the designers, architects, urban planners and government entities in the process of urban rehabilitation. Additionally it is intended to contribute for the development of a new tool for the sustainability assessment of urban planning projects, to be integrated in the SBToolPT system, which will be used to guide design teams in the process of sustainable design and to assess the sustainability of urban development and/or regeneration projects.

This thesis was developed under the theme B started in the Research Seminar, ProjectWorkshop II and was continued in the Project Laboratory 1 class in the academic year of2020/2021, “Cabo do Mundo 21 - Project for an Urgent City of Post-Covid and Post-Carbon”.This theme intends to develop a proposal for the requalification of the oil refinery in Leça da Palmeira in a future perspective of decarbonization and post-pandemic point of view. After a local historical and geographic contextualization, a collective strategy for the entire oil refinery area and its surroundings were drawn up, dividing it into 3 work areas developed accordingly. The area that this project proposes is located in the north of the refinery, unfinished and where a continuation of its morphology is proposed in a group dynamic that ends in a large park. From the perspective of sustainability, mobility and health awareness for a daily life prepared for the future, a section of this area is individually developed. With the implementation of a program of strategic and articulated functions, from a green hydrogen station that energetically supplies the means of transportation and, ideally, domestic electricity, supported by the use of wind farms and solar panels. This project proposes the installation of collective housing buildings and work studios, both from a Co-Living perspective. As well as the connection between the urban and the environment, with proposals for community parks and gardens (these for their own production and consumption of vegetables or fruit or for their exchange in a farmer’s market also proposed in this project). The project is developed under the premise of a few systems that work in sustainable compliance that can be isolated, always guaranteeing a dynamic and sustainable daily life for a mentally, physically and healthy life in pandemic situations, such as confinement. The project is developed for a new city park, an industrial requalification keeping its memory and an opportunity to think about the city and architecture in urban and social planning, in perspectives of conditioning caused by social adversities and sanitary distances.

description Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Article 2023Publisher:Zenodo Authors: SOUZA, José Arilson de; RODRIGUES, Raimundo Nonato; The Constitutional Financing Fund of the North (FNO), created through the Constitutional Funds, has the objective of promoting the development of the North Region, constituting the main financial instrument of the National Policy for Regional Development (PNDR) for the reduction of regional disparities.

This dissertation explores the potential of sustainable wine tourism in the Torres Vedras region of Portugal. Based on a literature review on the topic, the main sustainable wine tourism practices and their positive impact on environmental conservation and socio-economic development, in the county, in Portugal and also worldwide, were identified. The research was carried out to the wine tourism entities in the region, where quantitative data was collected by means of questionnaires to those responsible for these units. The results show that although the Torres Vedras region still has great potential for the development of sustainable wine tourism, because besides the work that has been done by the public entities in the region, it still has its natural landscapes and rich traditions linked to vitiviniculture. Bearing in mind that there is an increasing demand from tourists for destinations and companies with responsible environmental concerns and attitudes, there is still a lot of work to be done by the companies surveyed in this study. Besides this, there is still a great need for all the local entities to work together so that there may be a sustainable development in the municipality. The study concludes that sustainable wine tourism can be an important strategy to promote the socio-economic development of the Torres Vedras region, while preserving the natural and cultural heritage of the region and can also allow the municipality to be the first sustainable wine tourism destination in the world.
