; In this study, the design and cost analysis of a photovoltaic system which will meet the electric energy requirements of the constructions having self-producing electric potential has been aimed. Within this scope, based on a construction in Aydın, period of redemption was calculated by taking into consideration the energy consumption values of the electrical devices in the constructions, needed panel areas, battery capacities and such kind of technical values and plant construction and operating cost. As the study was planned by means of observing electrical consumption and electricity generation values momentarily, it was planned in the way of permitting some devices' usage periods or in the correct usage time in a day. With this program that permits the changes of scenario for operating the devices (washing machine, dishwasher), which run in the time periods in which the electrical consumption is excessive, in more appropriate time periods in which the electrical consumption is less, it was found that anticipated photovoltaic system could redeem itself in 11 years. Its characteristic of being cheaper than the means electricity shows that the photovoltaic system is practicable

; Bigadiç GDHS, which was projected for 3000 equivalent residential heating and began operation for 300 users in 2004-2005 heating season and finally reached 1548 equivalent residential heating as of 2016, is one of more than 20 GDHSs in Turkey. The operation conditions of the system have changed continuously to meet the users' heating demand and to reduce the operating costs of the system. However, until now, no study has been carried out on the performance evaluation of the system based on the measurements of the current system data. In this study the energy and exergy analyses of the Bigadiç GDHS were performed to investigate the annual energy balance, system efficiencies and the location and true magnitude of the losses and thus to develop improvement measures. The analyses were performed under six different heating load conditions chosen in 2011 and 2012 heating seasons so that they could cover the different load fluctuations; and three different loads in 2016 so the effects of calorimeter usage installed in the system buildings in February 2015 could be determined. Thus it was aimed at ensuring the detection of the current system performance in 2016 and investigation of the whole heating period. The results show that during the heating period the energy and exergy efficiencies of the system vary between 45,10-51,55% and 15,60-34,79%, respectively; the peak power plants, the transmission line, the heat exchangers, the waste geothermal water and the system buildings have great improvement potential. The system saved 494 tons of fuel in 2016 since the heating energy consumption of the buildings was reduced by 19-48% due to the usage of the calorimeters. It was also shown that after all the improvement measures detailed in the study are implemented and the waste geothermal water is used for greenhouse heating, under 2016 operating conditions, the system will consume 1334 tons less coal and provide a 3,157 GWh greenhouse heating which equals to 233 tons of coal per year.

; Besides population growth and technological development, depleted energy resources will continue to be a problem for humankind who always wishes for the best of everything and for the best quality of everything. Continuous increase in energy consumption in recent years is the reason of increase in researches that has been carried out in this field. As in all other countries It became a necessity for our country to consider developing technology and increasing energy deficit. Residences are the places for households where they spend their time most and consume energy in vast amount. Even if residential energy consumption effects seems to be less when it is compared to the general energy consumption, it is indispensable factor to minimize global energy consumption. Households make use of electric energy in large extents for the activities like warming, lighting, cooling and cleaning. In this study we examined the electricity consumption habits of women that is thought they have the highest decision-making role in the household and we consider some factors such as dwelling type, household number, education, ownership and number of electronic appliances which cause differences. While we propose energy consumption differences of consumers, we did not ignore energy-saving consciousness of all because energy-saving consciousness of consumers will effect the amount of energy usage of the households. The purpose of this study is to deduce to what extend the demographic specifications effect the households' electric energy consumption and also determine habits and the behavior of energy consumption of the households. In this framework we made a statistical fieldwork in the city of Denizli in Turkey. We use face to face survey technique. At the end we analyze the data by using frequency range, reliability analysis, factor, ANOVA and multiple regression techniques.

The efficiency of a wind turbine is directly affected by the direction and the speed of the wind blowing towards the turbine blades. Considering the fact that wind blows from many directions with variable speeds, it would be seen that there is a requirement for designing new, optimized and highly efficient airfoils for wind turbines. This work is a preliminary work of an airfoil design project for wind turbines. Numerical analysis has been performed at high Reynolds number and low angles of attack (0°???20°) for six different airfoils. Among the investigated airfoils, CLARK Y has been found to show the best performance considering the variation of C L-? and C L/C D-?. In this study, where only steady computations have been performed, it has been seen that the validity of steady computations were limited up to different angles of attack for each airfoil. For the cases of higher angles, it was understood that the convergence of steady analyses was not achievable. ©2008 TIBTD Printed in Turkey. ; Güleren, K.M.; Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi, Mühendislik Fakültesi, Makine Mühendisli?i Bölümü, 58140 Sivas, Turkey; email: melihguleren@cumhuriyet.edu.tr

For further information contact us at helpdesk@openaire.eudescription Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Master thesis 2013 TurkeyPublisher:Adnan Menderes Üniversitesi, Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Her geçen gün küresel enerji tüketimi hızla artmaktadır. Enerji kaynaklarının tükenmeye başlamasıyla birlikte yetersiz enerji kaynağı rezervlerine sahip olan ekonomiler enerji ihtiyaçlarını karşılayabilmek amacıyla kaynaklar üzerinde hâkimiyet mücadeleleri ve enerji ithalatına yönelmektedirler. Ekonomilerin enerji ithalatına bağımlı hale gelmesine neden olan enerji kaynakları ithalatına yönelim, enerji güvenliğini son derece olumsuz etkileyen bir durum olarak ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu bağlamda Avrupa Birliği ve kıta ülkeleri, her geçen gün enerji kaynaklarını diplomatik yaptırım aracı olarak kullanan Rusya Federasyonu'na başta doğal gaz olmak üzere, enerji ithalatına bağımlı hale gelmeye başlamışlardır. Küresel enerji süper gücü olabilmek hedefi doğrultusunda politikalarını belirleyen ve ülke ekonomisi enerji kaynaklarının ihracatından sağlanan gelirlerle büyüyen Rusya Federasyonu, bölge üzerinde, ulusal güvenliğini ve çıkarlarını korumayı amaçlarken, aynı zamanda enerji ihracatının devamlılığının sağlanabilmesi yönünde politikalar belirlemektedir. Bu nedenle, en fazla enerji kaynağı ihracatını gerçekleştirdiği Avrupa kıtası ülkeleriyle işbirliği içerisinde hareket etmeye çalışmakta, aynı zamanda çıkar bölgesi olan yakın çevresinde etkisini kaybetmemek yönünde politikalar izlemektedir. Bu bağlamda, ulusal çıkarların korunması amacıyla Rusya Federasyonu'nun diplomatik yaptırım aracı olarak kullandığı enerji kaynaklarının ve enerji ithalatı bağımlılığının Avrupa ülkelerinin ulusal güvenlikleriyle birlikte, enerji güvenliği üzerindeki olumsuz etkilerin açıklanması tezin amacını oluşturmaktadır. Avrupa ülkelerinin enerji güvenliğinde Rusya Federasyonu'nun politikalarının, boru hatlarının ve enerji şirketlerinin etkisi ve Avrupa ülkelerinin artan bağımlılığa karşılık geliştirdiği politikalar ayrıntılı olarak açıklanmıştır. ; Each passing day, global energy consumption is increasing rapidly. With shrinking energy sources, economies, which has insufficient energy reserves, are driven into struggles to dominate energy reserves and get obliged to import energy to meet their energy needs. Tendency towards the import of energy sources, which make economies dependent, is an unfavorable situation, which affects energy security negatively. In this scope, European Union and continental countries have begun to be dependent on Russian Federation, which use its energy sources as a diplomatic tool. Russian Federation, which determines its policies so as to be a super power of energy, and whose economy is growing with the income accumulating from the export of energy sources, is conducting policies to keep sustainability of energy export while also aiming to protect its national security and interests in the region. With this reason, while it is conducting policies not to lose its impact over its close neighborhood, where its interests lie, it is also trying to stay in cooperation with European continental countries, where most of its energy exports are transferred. In this scope, the explanation of the impacts of energy resources used as a diplomatic tool by the Russian Federation and the impact of energy import dependency on both national securities of European countries as well as on energy security constitute the main purpose of the thesis. The impact of Russian Federation's energy policies, of the pipelines and of energy companies as well as the policies developed by European countries as a remedy to their increasing dependency are examined in detail.

; In this study, the design and cost analysis of a photovoltaic system which will meet the electric energy requirements of the constructions having self-producing electric potential has been aimed.

Purpose of the study determination of the effects of three different mineral nitrogen fertilizer doses (0,9,18 kg/da) and five different liquid biogas waste doses applications (0,1,2,3,4 t/da) and their combinations on yield and quality in wheat plants besides investigate the effects of the use of liquid biogas waste in agricultural production on soil fertility. When the results are summarized bread wheat yield and quality parameters are affected by liquid biogas waste and mineral nitrogen fertilizer applications and statistically differences are obtained between applications. Plant height, number of spikes per square meter, number of grains per ear, thousand grain weight, test weight, ear weight, ear yield, flag leaf area, yield, grain ash ratio and grain fibre ratio parameters are affected statistically significant by liquid biogas waste applications. The mineral nitrogen doses possitively affected all other yield and quality parameters except starch, fibre, protein ratio in grain and field emergency parameters. Better results were usually obtained in the experiment from 3 t/da liquid biogas waste dose and 18 kg/da mineral nitrogen dose combination.

WOS: 000407449900007 ; The present study estimates the increase in the number of jobs resulting from the additional investments in energy sector if Turkey's renewable energy percentage in the electricity generation is 100%. The share to be allocated to each renewable energy source within additional investment value is determined according to COPRAS-based multi-criteria decision making method. The contribution of renewable energy investment value which is determined through COPRAS to employment in the country has been estimated according to Jobs and Economic Development Impact (JEDI) Model which was developed by National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). According to results of the model, it is estimated that a total of 1.132.545 additional jobs will be created with following breakdown through the installation and operation of 56.694 MW renewable energy plants instead of fossil fuel power stations: to 576.664 people directly, to 322.852 people indirectly and to 233.030 people through stimulated employment.
