    Authors: Meireis, Cláudio;

    Em Portugal, grande parte do parque edificado foi construído nas décadas de 70 e 80, sendo os edifícios dos anos 60 e 70 os que apresentam maior número de anomalias e menor qualidade de construção e, portanto, com pior desempenho energético devido à falta de legislação. A reabilitação destes edifícios permite corrigir e melhorar a sua eficiência energética e, com isso, promover um parque imobiliário mais sustentável. Atualmente, a maioria das soluções aplicadas na reabilitação são de baixo custo e focam-se unicamente no aumento da eficiência energético das construções. Por isso, recorre-se ao sistema ETICS e substituição das caixilharias existentes, por outras com melhor desempenho térmico e de vedação. Neste sentido, combinando a reabilitação da envolvente dos edifícios com o confinamento derivado da pandemia causada pelo vírus SARS-CoV-2 e os problemas ambientais atuais, o objetivo desta investigação é desenvolver um sistema pré-fabricado à base de madeira, capaz de melhorar o desempenho energético e a segurança estrutural das construções, resolver as anomalias preexistentes baseado em princípios sustentáveis e incorporar valor espacial e de conforto. Para isso, o Bairro Social de Darque, localizado em Viana do Castelo, foi escolhido como caso de estudo devido ao seu mau estado de conservação. Além disso, parte do complexo habitacional encontra-se num processo de reabilitação, em que está a ser aplicado o sistema ETICS, tornando possível comparar este sistema com a proposta desenvolvida nesta dissertação. In Portugal, a large part of the building stock was built in the 70’s and 80’s, being buildings dated from the 60’s and 70’s the ones with most anomalies and less quality of construction and, therefore, with the worst energy performance due to the lack of legislation. The renovation of those buildings makes it possible to correct and improve their energy efficiency and with that, to promote a more sustainable building stock. Currently, most of the solutions applied in rehabilitation are low-cost and focus exclusively on increasing the energy efficiency of buildings. Thus, the ETICS system is used and the existing window frames are replaced by others with better thermal and sealing performance. In this regard, combining renovation of the building’s envelope with the confinement derived from the pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus and the current environmental problems, the goal of this investigation is to develop a wood-based prefabricated system, capable of improving the energy performance and structural safety of buildings, solving preexisting anomalies based on sustainable principles and incorporating spatial and comfort value. To that end, the Bairro Social de Darque, located in Viana do Castelo, was chosen as case study due to its poor state of conservation. Moreover, part of the housing complex is undergoing a process of renovation, in which the ETICS system is being applied, making it possible to compare it with the proposal developed in this thesis. Os impactos negativos da pandemia por Covid-19, as estratégias de sustentabilidade das organizações e a crescente exigência dos consumidores têm colocado na ordem do dia as questões da reputação corporativa. Considerando o atual contexto e conceitos cada vez mais relevantes como o consumo sustentável e a ação climática, a presente investigação centra-se na análise do impacto que a pandemia por Covid-19 exerce nas estratégias de sustentabilidade das organizações em Portugal, propondo-se averiguar uma decorrente influência na sua reputação corporativa. O objetivo desta investigação é pois, avaliar em que medida os impactos socioeconómicos da pandemia por Covid-19 estarão a exercer um efeito negativo nas estratégias de sustentabilidade das organizações em Portugal, que resulte numa reputação corporativa igualmente negativa junto do seu público. Alicerçada na opinião de uma especialista em sustentabilidade e política pública nacional de mitigação climática, nesta investigação realizaram-se entrevistas a diretores de sustentabilidade de organizações do PSI20 e administrou-se um inquérito por questionário a consumidores nacionais. Concluiu-se que apesar de consistentes, as estratégias de sustentabilidade das organizações sofreram alterações sobretudo de um ponto de vista temporal. Ou seja, a pandemia por Covid-19 veio não só exigir uma necessária adaptação ao contexto, como também acelerar planos de atividades de forma a colmatar necessidades ambientais e sociais conjunturais. Chegou-se também à conclusão de que os consumidores se mostraram críticos quanto à honestidade e credibilidade de iniciativas de caráter social ou ambiental em período de pandemia – sem que, com isso, se consiga identificar uma influência direta na reputação corporativa das organizações. Corporate reputational issues are, nowadays, much more demanding if we consider the negative impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, the need for credible sustainability strategies and consumers’ growing ESG expectations. Thus, this research focuses on the analysis of the impact that Covid-19 pandemic is having on corporates’ sustainability strategies in Portugal, proposing to investigate any type of influence on their reputation. The main objective of this research is to assess to which extent the socio-economic impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic are playing a negative role on corporate sustainability strategies in Portugal, resulting in an equally negative corporate reputation. This investigation took, as a starting point, a sustainability and climate mitigation policy expert’s view, followed by interviews to PSI20’s Chief Sustainability Officers, alongside a survey conducted among Portuguese consumers. It was concluded that despite being consistent, corporate sustainability strategies underwent changes, especially from a temporal point of view. In other words, the Covid-19 pandemic not only required an adaptation to the context, but also accelerated corporate initiatives in order to meet current environmental and social needs. It was also concluded that consumers were concerned about the honesty and credibility of social and environmental initiatives during Covid-19, but a direct influence on corporate reputation was not found.

    Authors: Künsch, Jeniffer Balarini Lemos;

    The dissertation intends to exemplify mechanisms of technological innovations that are focused on sustainable development and relevant to the contemporary challenges of the maritime transport market. First, we will talk about what is maritime transport as a mode of trade, especially international. We also intend to clarify what is sustainable and what could be a sustainable technological innovation or “blue tech”. Decarbonization is an option that is not only viable, but necessary. The problem arises when pointing out contemporary challenges, such as climate change and COVID 19, and what practical measures are being taken by the countries and proposals to overcome these challenges. Our context will be that of the European Union and the practical measures will be the laws and pacts formed in favor of sustainable development. The decarbonization pact being the big pivot of the moment. We understand, however, that decarbonization must be part of the implementation in the area of innovation: digitization and automatization. Whether on land and / or sea. A dissertação pretende exemplificar mecanismos de inovações tecnológicas que sejam voltados ao desenvolvimento sustentável e relevantes aos desafios contemporâneos do mercado de transporte marítimo. Primeiramente, falaremos sobre o que é transporte marítimo enquanto modal de comércio, sobretudo internacional. Pretendemos, ainda, esclarecer o que é sustentável e o que poderá ser uma inovação tecnológica sustentável ou azul. Sendo a descarbonização uma opção não somente viável, mas necessária. A problemática surge ao apontar desafios contemporâneos, tal qual mudanças climáticas e COVID 19, e quais as medidas práticas que estão sendo tomados pelos países e propostas para superar esses desafios. Nosso contexto será o de União Europeia e as medidas práticas serão as legislações e pactos formados em prol do desenvolvimento sustentável, sendo o pacto de descarbonização o grande pivô do momento. Entendemos, porém que a descarbonização deve existir no contexto da inovação: a digitalização e automatização. Seja em âmbito terrestre e/ou marítimo.

    Relatório de Estágio do Mestrado em Administração Público-Privada apresentado à Faculdade de Direito A propagação do plástico avança a um ritmo desmedido e os seus impactos no meioambiente e saúde humana sobrepõem-se às políticas ambientais restritivas ao plástico,desenvolvidas por diversas entidades internacionais e nacionais.Este trabalho teve como objetivo identificar os motivos da utilização do plástico, aspossíveis oportunidades para a sua redução e os promotores de políticas ambientaisrestritivas ao plástico e as ações que desenvolvem. Este trabalho teve ainda como objetivoscomprovar e medir o sucesso da implementação da Resolução do Conselho de Ministros(RCM) nº141/2018 no Instituto Português de Oncologia Francisco Gentil, E.P.E. (IPOC) erecolher perceções e sugestões de melhoria relativas à referida aplicação, à possível adoçãode produtos descartáveis não plásticos e bioplásticos pelo IPOC, ao impacto ambiental doIPOC, ao impacto da pandemia de Covid-19 no consumo de plástico descartável nainstituição e à relevância das políticas públicas no combate ao plástico.Os resultados do estudo teórico indicam que o plástico é utilizado devido ao seubaixo custo de produção, fácil adaptabilidade e pressão e influência dos lóbis da indústriaplástica e petrolífera. O desenvolvimento de novos bioplásticos constituí a principaloportunidade para a redução plástica. A Organização das Nações Unidas, a Organizaçãopara a Cooperação e Desenvolvimento Económico, a União Europeia, e, em Portugal, oMinistério do Ambiente e da Transição Energética e a Agência Portuguesa do Ambienteforam identificados como os principais promotores de políticas ambientais restritivas aoplástico.Os resultados referentes ao estudo de caso indicam que a implementação da RCMnº141/2018 no IPOC foi bem-sucedida e resultou na redução de 55% no consumo deprodutos descartáveis de plástico e de água engarrafada na instituição. The propagation of plastic keeps moving at a dramatic rhythm and its effects in theenvironment and Human health overcome the plastic restriction environmental policiesdevelop by a variety of international and national entities.This essay had the objectives of identifying the reasons for the plastic usage, thepossible opportunities to reduce it and the promotors of the plastic restriction environmentpolicies, as well as their work. It also had the objectives of proving and measuring the successof the implementation of the Resolution of the Council of the Ministers nº 141/2018 in theInstituto Português de Oncologia Francisco Gentil, E.P.E. (IPOC) and collecting perceptionsand improvement suggestions related to the referred implementation, the possible adoptionof noun plastic and bioplastic disposable products by the IPOC, the environmental impact ofIPOC, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the consumption of disposable plastic in theinstitution and the relevance of the public policies in the fight against plastic.The results of the theoretical study indicate that the plastic is used due to its lowcost of production, easy adaptability and the pressure and influence of the plastic and petrolindustries lobbying. The development of new bioplastics is the main opportunity to theplastic reduction. The United Nations, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation andDevelopment, the European Union, and, in Portugal, the Ministry of the Environment andEnergetic Transition and the Environment Portuguese Agency are the principal promotors ofthe plastic restriction environmental policies.The results of the case study indicate that the implementation of the RCMnº141/2018 in the IPOC was well succeed and resulted in a reduction of 55% in theconsumption of disposable plastic products and bottle water in the institution.

    Authors: Künsch, Jeniffer Balarini Lemos;
