[EN] In the last decades of the twentieth century the attention and concern for the progressive degradation that multiple human activities are causing to the natural environment have been increasing, to the point of being at the centre of a debate that affects the international level, both in specialist fields and in everyday life, to reduce and reverse this impact in the short and medium-term. In a context where society is increasingly aware of the importance of assuming that all the resources are scarce and where every day you see that you can no longer consume the media without finding an alternative, the BREEAM protocol is born. Now ten years ago, it was introduced in Spain, trying to promote a more sustainable architecture that allows leaving less waste before, during and after its appearance. But the protocol gets what it tries or ends up becoming another stamp that doesn’t get to the bottom of the matter? The present study is incorporated within a current philosophical thought, which relates to the concern for the great Mother Nature, as it is often called going through ecology, and in general for the life of planet earth. This work consists of the critical analysis of the bases of the BREEAM protocol, as well as of some works that have achieved their seal.

The present paper consists in the realization of the study of the energy certification of an existing building, to obtain the energy efficiency certificate and to propose changes in order to improve the energy efficiency of the building. Going into further detail about the structure of this paper, it has been divided into three basic parts. The first part consist in the introduction of the energy efficiency concept, while explaining the reasons that have led us to take measures and establish legislations in order to fight to improve the energy efficiency of buildings. In the second part of this study, it goes further in detail in explaining the methodology that have to be followed in order to obtain the energy certification of a buildings, and it is developed the resolution of the particular case study. In the resolution it is defined the building and its characteristics and is demonstrated how all the data have been implemented in the certification program (CE3X). The certification has been carried out by two different methodologies: the basic and the exhaustive. In the first one the default values that the program calculates were used, in order to determine the thermal properties of the enclosures. And in the second, these thermal properties have been estimated, using all the information available of how the building is made. Therefore, a comparison between these certifications has been made and conclusions were drawn. Finally, in the third part of the paper the energy efficiency classification obtained of the building with the exhaustive certification is evaluated, justifying and understanding the reasons why it has been obtained this classification. Therefore, improvements can be made in the building and in its facilities in order to improve the building’s classification and thereby propose ways to improve its energy efficiency.

In Catalan, there is a denominative vacuum in the terminology of housing. This has been accentuated by the two great challenges of today's world: the irruption of technologies and the need to seek more sustainable ways of living. The lack of linguistic standardisation and the variation and proliferation of terms for the same concept may cause confusion among real estate professionals and they often resort to borrowing words from English. To ensure the availability of Catalan terminology for housing, the use of terms in this field has been observed in specialised documents and in the media, in matters of sustainability and digitalisation, and a glossary has been elaborated. The terms of linguistic interest were then selected and analysed in order to establish a denomination. And, when necessary, plausible and functional neological proposals have been established. With the research data, we found that the terminology of sustainability is more fixed and has a tendency to be incorporated into Catalan using its own resources for creating neologisms, while real estate technologies are generally based on borrowing mechanisms. When establishing the neological proposals, these trends have been followed. Tutora: Elisabet Llopart-Saumell

In this project, a feasibility analysis is carried out to convert Es Murterar coal-fired power plant (Alcúdia, Mallorca) into a biomass power plant. This work is elaborated to study the capacity of the Island to provide biomass as fuel and at the same time an attempt is made to assess the impact that this plant would have, taking into account the different dimensions of sustainability En este proyecto se desarrolla un análisis de viabilidad para convertir la central de térmica de carbón d'Es Murterar (Alcudia, Mallorca) en una central de biomasa.
