Societal Challenges demand for Advanced Materials, which in turn promise economical potential. Material Acceleration Platforms (MAPs) will decrease their development time and cost. We comment on implications for science, industry and policy concluding with necessary steps towards establishment of MAPs. In 2008 the EC programme NORSEWInD kicked off with a mission to deliver high quality offshore wind speed data for the wind industry. The aim of the project is to deliver offshore wind speed data to the wind industry by measuring offshore wind speed data from remote sensing instruments (LiDAR) on off shore platforms. This work reports on the techniques used to assesses the interference effects of the various mounting platforms on the measured wind speed data.

This is the software and data set named "Supplementary Software 1" for the research paper "Offshore wind competitiveness in mature markets without subsidy". Please refer to the README file in the ZIP file for instructions. The paper is currently under review and access is for peer-review purposes only. This dataset contains additional data for the research article Biotechnologically produced chitosans with nonrandom acetylation patterns differ from conventional chitosans in properties and activities by Sruthi Sreekumar, Jasper Wattjes, Anna Niehues, Tamara Mengoni, Ana C. Mendes, Edwin R. Morris, Francisco M. Goycoolea, and Bruno M. Moerschbacher. The directory Fig1ab_SuppFig1ab contains data, code, and results of enzymatic mass-spectrometric fingerprinting experiments. The directory cosms contains source code and instructions to create a conda environment in which the code to create Figures 1 A+B and Supplementary Figures 1 A+B can be executed. The directory Fig23456_SuppFig_2567 contains Excel Worksheets (.xlsx files) with data underlying Figures 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, and Supplementary Figures 2, 5, 6 and 7. The directories Fig5b and SuppFig7d contain raw MS data (Bruker .d files) of oligomeric hydrolysis products produced by incubating different chitosans with different chitinolytic enzymes. This HIGH Horizons report (deliverable 3.3) presents heat health risk thresholds found in literature, threshold related results from WP2 data analysis, methods of determination of the thresholds, heat stress indices, and recommended thresholds at different heat risk levels of the heat health warning system (HHWS) for pregnant and postpartum women, infants and health workers. The selected cut-off thresholds will be implemented in the personalised early warning system (EWS) that the HIGH Horizons consortium is building for pregnant women, infants and health workers, based on ClimApp. The aim of identifying the heat health risk thresholds is to enable the EWS to use these pre-determined trigger levels of heat stress to alert impending heat health risks and provide advice to pregnant and postpartum women, caregivers of infants and health workers to take actions to reduce health risks. 

The purpose of this carbon assessment report (Deliverable 2.11) is to quantify and understand the carbon emissions associated with private and public healthcare facilities in Kenya, South Africa and Zimbabwe. The report highlights the importance of conducting carbon assessments in healthcare settings, supported by relevant sources and citations. The assessments aim to provide valuable insights into the environmental impact of these facilities. We additionally developed a modelling tool, CARBOMICA, which assists in the strategic allocation of resources to optimize the reduction of carbon emissions at these health facilities. By identifying the key sources of carbon emissions and recommending targeted mitigation measures using CARBOMICA, the report seeks to support the transition towards sustainable and low-carbon healthcare systems in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC). This report is linked to two other HIGH Horizons reports: Protocol for mitigation interventions evaluation in Kenya, South Africa and Zimbabwe (Deliverable 5.7, April 2023), which outlines the approach and tools for assessing and evaluating carbon emissions from health facilities in Kenya, South Africa, and Zimbabwe; Development of a Resource Allocation Tool for Carbon Mitigation Intervention in HealthCare Facilities (CARBOMICA) (Deliverable 3.7, September 2023), which will support the identification and selection of mitigation interventions in the three countries.
