Motiviert durch ein Anwendungsbeispiel wird die Komfortzone für mobile, kinematisch redundante Manipulatoren definiert. Die Lage und Orientierung der Basis des Manipulators und die Gelenkwinkel werden so gewählt, dass ausgesuchte Zielfunktionen minimal werden. Diese Zielfunktionen werden aus bekannten Maßen wie kartesische Geschwindigkeit, Kraft und Steifigkeit abgeleitet. Sie werden abhängig von den Parametern der Basis und den Gelenkwinkeln des Manipulators bestimmt, wobei nur ein Unterraum an möglichen Konfigurationen aufgrund der vorgegebenen Lage und Orientierung des Endeffektors (EE) für die Optimierung frei wählbar ist. Es werden im Sinne der multikriteriellen Optimierung Pareto-Fronten errechnet, welche durch vordefinierte Grenzen (z.B. minimale erreichbare Kraft oder minimale erreichbare Geschwindigkeit) begrenzt werden. Motivated by an application example, the comfort zone for mobile kinematically redundant manipulators is defined. The position and orientation of the mobile platform (=base of the manipulator) and the joint angles are selected in such a way that selected target functions are minimized. These objective functions are derived from known measures such as Cartesian velocity, force and stiffness. The objective functions are evaluated depending on the parameters of the base and the joint angles of the manipulator, whereby only a subspace of possible configurations is freely selectable for optimization due to the given position and orientation of the end effector (EE). Pareto-fronts are calculated in the sense of multi-criteria optimization, which are limited by, e.g., minimum achievable force or minimum achievable speed. Besondere Beachtung finden zweistufige Prozesse unter Verwendung von Metalloxiden, insbesondere Ceroxid, die alternierend oxidiert und reduziert werden. Im Oxidationsschritt reduziert das eingesetzte Metalloxid dampfförmiges Wasser zu Wasserstoff bei ca. 800 – 1100 °C. Im Reduktionsschritt wird es nach Aufheizen durch konzentrierte Solarstrahlung auf etwa 1200 – 1500 °C in sauerstoffarmer Atmosphäre thermisch reduziert.

Satheesh;Die Anforderungen an die Klimatisierung von Elektrofahrzeugen hängen weitgehend vom Einsatzort des Fahrzeuges ab. Zum Beispiel benötigen Elektrofahrzeuge in den europäischen Ländern einen hohen Heizaufwand während der Wintersaison, wohingegen in den äquatorialen Regionen betriebene Fahrzeuge während des ganzen Jahres gekühlt werden müssen. Zum heutigen Stand wird die für die Klimatisierung notwendige Leistung aus der Batterie bezogen, was die Reichweite in beiden Fällen reduziert und für eine Einschränkung der breiten Akzeptanz von Elektrofahrzeugen sorgt. Die wichtigsten elektrischen Lasten für die Batterie eines Elektrofahrzeugs sind der Fahrmotor und der Klimakompressor-Antriebsmotor. Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird eine neue Design-Lösung zur Verbesserung des Gesamtwirkungsgrades von Elektrofahrzeugen vorgeschlagen, bei der beide Motoren, der Fahrmotor und der Kompressormotor, in einem gemeinsamen Gehäuse untergebracht werden. Diese integrierte Einheit wird voraussichtlich im Rekuperations-modus mit nahezu 100 % Effizienz arbeiten. Die Verbesserung der Effizienz wird durch eine direkte mechanische Kopplung des Fahrmotors mit dem Klimakompressor während der Bremsphase erreicht. Die mechanische Konfiguration der Einheit erlaubt es, die Drehmomente und die Drehzahlen von Fahrmotor und Kompressormotor unabhängig voneinander zu steuern. Neben der verbesserten Leistungsfähigkeit und der höheren Effizienz hat die integrierte Einheit zahlreiche weitere Vorteile wie erhöhte Zuverlässigkeit, Kompaktheit und geringeres Gewicht.

Seitdem befinden wir uns in einem permanenten Krisenzustand, und Ereignisse wie unsere Tagung können nicht in der gewohnten Weise stattfinden. Das Wort Krise setzt sich im Chinesischen aus zwei Zeichen zusammen (危機) - das eine bedeutet Gefahr, das andere Chance. Während die Pandemie weiterhin eine große Gefahr für unsere Gesundheit darstellt, schafft sie auch Chancen, insbesondere im Bereich der Digitalisierung. Nicht nur Bereiche wie die Bildung, sondern auch die Wirtschaft werden durch digitale Technologien einen stärkeren Schub erhalten. In den Entwicklungs- und Konstruktionsabteilungen zum Beispiel bieten sie vielversprechende Möglichkeiten, Arbeitsabläufe nachhaltig zu optimieren. Langfristig wird sich sowohl die räumliche als auch die zeitliche Verteilung der Arbeit an den während der Krise neu festgelegten Standards orientieren. Mobiles Arbeiten wird sich als alternative Arbeitsform etablieren. Neben den offensichtlichen Vorteilen wird das mobile Arbeiten aber auch die Kommunikation zwischen den verschiedenen Akteuren der Produktentwicklung weiter erschweren. Neben den Veränderungen in der Zusammenarbeit zwischen den verschiedenen Akteuren wird auch die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Mensch und Maschine weiter forciert. Die Etablierung von autonomen Prozessen für Maschinen und Anlagen oder die Möglichkeit ihrer Fernwartung schafft eine hohe Flexibilität des Personals in Bezug auf seinen Arbeitsplatz und wird damit stärker in den Fokus rücken. Eine weitere Anstrengung wird darin bestehen, die Zuverlässigkeit der Modellierung und Simulationen weiter zu verbessern und die Lücke zwischen dem realen Verhalten des Produkts und dem Verhalten seines virtuellen Abbildes zu schließen. Dadurch wird es möglich sein, die Anzahl der physischen Muster zu reduzieren, was nicht nur die Kosten senken, sondern auch die Flexibilität des Arbeitsplatzes erhöhen würde. All diese Herausforderungen verlangen von IngenieurInnen in Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft, Lösungen für die aktuellen Herausforderungen zu entwickeln. Es ist erfreulich zu sehen, dass sich Beiträge im Tagungsband bereits mit diesen Themen befassen. Auch wenn die Konferenz in diesem Jahr nicht wie üblich stattfinden kann, um die Themen persönlich zu diskutieren, so bietet der Tagungsband doch zumindest die Möglichkeit, den interessierten Leserinnen und Leser über die Themen zu informieren. Als Hauptredner der Tagung war mein geschätzter Kollege em. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Klaus Ehrlenspiel vorgesehen. Auch wenn der Vortrag nicht stattgefunden hat, freue ich mich, dass er einen Beitrag verfasst hat, um aus seiner langjährigen Erfahrung abgeleitete Ansätze für eine zukünftige Ausrichtung der Konstruktionsforschung mit uns zu teilen. Technischer Fortschritt wird heute von den meisten Ökonomen als ökonomisches Phänomen anerkannt, dem volle Aufmerksamkeit gelten soll. Dies gilt nicht zuletzt, weil sein Beitrag zum Wirtschaftswachstum von entscheidender Bedeutung ist und quantitativ - je nach Berechnungsart - zwischen 40 % und 60 % (z.B. Schweiz) liegt. Dabei ist allerdings zu beachten, dass sowohl die Rate des technischen Fortschritts als auch dessen Beitrag zum Wirtschaftswachstum von Land zu Land und von Wirtschaftszweig zu Wirtschaftszweig quantitativ verschieden sind. Es bestehen sowohl international wie interindustriell beträchtliche Unterschiede im technischen Fortschritt und damit im Wirtschaftswachstum. Es ist das Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit, eine kurze Zusammenfassung dieser Diskussion - v.a. aus industrieökonomischer Sicht - zu liefern. Konkret lautet die Hauptfrage hier wie folgt: Welches sind theoretisch die Determinanten interindustrieller Unterschiede im technischen Fortschritt? High expectations rest on the development of beyond Li-Ion battery systems [1]. Especially, lithium-sulfur batteries (Li/S) are believed to be a promising candidate already in the near future. Despite the increasing efforts to realize a large-scale commercialization several fundamental properties of Li/S batteries are still a matter of intensive research. Recently, several groups investigated the influence of surface properties at the positive electrode, like the affinity towards polysulfides or surface roughness, on the morphology and spatial distribution of solid charge and discharge products [2]–[4]. The results indicate that a spatial control of the formation of solid Li2S is able to improve battery performance, however, additional design guidelines are needed to optimize this approach. Simulations on the continuum scale give the opportunity to interpret the measurements, improve our understanding of relevant processes, and allow for an optimization of interface, electrode and, cell designs. In our contribution we will present simulation results of a detailed model describing the nucleation, growth, and dissolution of the solid end-products S8 and Li2S in Li/S batteries. In our calculations we simulate the dynamic evolution of the corresponding particle size distributions at various positions in the cell and take into account their effect on transport properties and active surface areas. The model is integrated in our framework for the simulation of metal-sulfur (Me/S) batteries which handles the reaction and transport of dissolved sulfur species on cell level [5]. This multiscale approach allows us to track the concentration and volume fraction of sulfur species during cycling and additionally gives the opportunity for a systematic study of the polysulfide shuttle. The simulated evolution of solid volume fractions and particle size distributions are in good qualitative agreement with data of X-ray in-operando measurements recently published in the literature [6] and correlate the morphological properties of the electrode to the electrochemical characteristics. In a next step the model will be used to investigate the influence of additional positive electrode materials with different specific surface area and/or affinity towards sulfur species in order to assess their impact on battery performance. This approach provides mechanistic insights on the operation of Li/S batteries and will contribute to the understanding and, therefore, improvement of next-generation batteries

Computation time for performance estimation is saved by using a simplified mathematical model for the concentrator optics: the reflected image of each heliostat is described by a circular normal distribution. This approximation is justified when the standard deviation of the statistical mirror error exceeds 1 mrad. The paper shows details about the mathematical model and its validation. The HFLCAL code has been continuously used and enhanced in numerous R&D projects. The current features of HFLCAL comprise (among others) automatic multi-aiming, secondary concentrator optics, tower reflector systems, various receiver models and the ability of least-cost optimization with various optimization algorithms. A graphical user interface has been added to the program that supports menu-driven interactive commands and depicts calculation results in a display window.

Motiviert durch ein Anwendungsbeispiel wird die Komfortzone für mobile, kinematisch redundante Manipulatoren definiert. Die Lage und Orientierung der Basis des Manipulators und die Gelenkwinkel werden so gewählt, dass ausgesuchte Zielfunktionen minimal werden. Diese Zielfunktionen werden aus bekannten Maßen wie kartesische Geschwindigkeit, Kraft und Steifigkeit abgeleitet. Sie werden abhängig von den Parametern der Basis und den Gelenkwinkeln des Manipulators bestimmt, wobei nur ein Unterraum an möglichen Konfigurationen aufgrund der vorgegebenen Lage und Orientierung des Endeffektors (EE) für die Optimierung frei wählbar ist. Es werden im Sinne der multikriteriellen Optimierung Pareto-Fronten errechnet, welche durch vordefinierte Grenzen (z.B. minimale erreichbare Kraft oder minimale erreichbare Geschwindigkeit) begrenzt werden. Motivated by an application example, the comfort zone for mobile kinematically redundant manipulators is defined. The position and orientation of the mobile platform (=base of the manipulator) and the joint angles are selected in such a way that selected target functions are minimized. These objective functions are derived from known measures such as Cartesian velocity, force and stiffness. The objective functions are evaluated depending on the parameters of the base and the joint angles of the manipulator, whereby only a subspace of possible configurations is freely selectable for optimization due to the given position and orientation of the end effector (EE). Pareto-fronts are calculated in the sense of multi-criteria optimization, which are limited by, e.g., minimum achievable force or minimum achievable speed. Besondere Beachtung finden zweistufige Prozesse unter Verwendung von Metalloxiden, insbesondere Ceroxid, die alternierend oxidiert und reduziert werden. Im Oxidationsschritt reduziert das eingesetzte Metalloxid dampfförmiges Wasser zu Wasserstoff bei ca. 800 – 1100 °C. Im Reduktionsschritt wird es nach Aufheizen durch konzentrierte Solarstrahlung auf etwa 1200 – 1500 °C in sauerstoffarmer Atmosphäre thermisch reduziert.

Satheesh;Die Anforderungen an die Klimatisierung von Elektrofahrzeugen hängen weitgehend vom Einsatzort des Fahrzeuges ab. Zum Beispiel benötigen Elektrofahrzeuge in den europäischen Ländern einen hohen Heizaufwand während der Wintersaison, wohingegen in den äquatorialen Regionen betriebene Fahrzeuge während des ganzen Jahres gekühlt werden müssen. Zum heutigen Stand wird die für die Klimatisierung notwendige Leistung aus der Batterie bezogen, was die Reichweite in beiden Fällen reduziert und für eine Einschränkung der breiten Akzeptanz von Elektrofahrzeugen sorgt. Die wichtigsten elektrischen Lasten für die Batterie eines Elektrofahrzeugs sind der Fahrmotor und der Klimakompressor-Antriebsmotor. Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird eine neue Design-Lösung zur Verbesserung des Gesamtwirkungsgrades von Elektrofahrzeugen vorgeschlagen, bei der beide Motoren, der Fahrmotor und der Kompressormotor, in einem gemeinsamen Gehäuse untergebracht werden. Diese integrierte Einheit wird voraussichtlich im Rekuperations-modus mit nahezu 100 % Effizienz arbeiten. Die Verbesserung der Effizienz wird durch eine direkte mechanische Kopplung des Fahrmotors mit dem Klimakompressor während der Bremsphase erreicht. Die mechanische Konfiguration der Einheit erlaubt es, die Drehmomente und die Drehzahlen von Fahrmotor und Kompressormotor unabhängig voneinander zu steuern. Neben der verbesserten Leistungsfähigkeit und der höheren Effizienz hat die integrierte Einheit zahlreiche weitere Vorteile wie erhöhte Zuverlässigkeit, Kompaktheit und geringeres Gewicht.

Seitdem befinden wir uns in einem permanenten Krisenzustand, und Ereignisse wie unsere Tagung können nicht in der gewohnten Weise stattfinden. Das Wort Krise setzt sich im Chinesischen aus zwei Zeichen zusammen (危機) - das eine bedeutet Gefahr, das andere Chance. Während die Pandemie weiterhin eine große Gefahr für unsere Gesundheit darstellt, schafft sie auch Chancen, insbesondere im Bereich der Digitalisierung. Nicht nur Bereiche wie die Bildung, sondern auch die Wirtschaft werden durch digitale Technologien einen stärkeren Schub erhalten. In den Entwicklungs- und Konstruktionsabteilungen zum Beispiel bieten sie vielversprechende Möglichkeiten, Arbeitsabläufe nachhaltig zu optimieren. Langfristig wird sich sowohl die räumliche als auch die zeitliche Verteilung der Arbeit an den während der Krise neu festgelegten Standards orientieren. Mobiles Arbeiten wird sich als alternative Arbeitsform etablieren. Neben den offensichtlichen Vorteilen wird das mobile Arbeiten aber auch die Kommunikation zwischen den verschiedenen Akteuren der Produktentwicklung weiter erschweren. Neben den Veränderungen in der Zusammenarbeit zwischen den verschiedenen Akteuren wird auch die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Mensch und Maschine weiter forciert. Die Etablierung von autonomen Prozessen für Maschinen und Anlagen oder die Möglichkeit ihrer Fernwartung schafft eine hohe Flexibilität des Personals in Bezug auf seinen Arbeitsplatz und wird damit stärker in den Fokus rücken. Eine weitere Anstrengung wird darin bestehen, die Zuverlässigkeit der Modellierung und Simulationen weiter zu verbessern und die Lücke zwischen dem realen Verhalten des Produkts und dem Verhalten seines virtuellen Abbildes zu schließen. Dadurch wird es möglich sein, die Anzahl der physischen Muster zu reduzieren, was nicht nur die Kosten senken, sondern auch die Flexibilität des Arbeitsplatzes erhöhen würde. All diese Herausforderungen verlangen von IngenieurInnen in Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft, Lösungen für die aktuellen Herausforderungen zu entwickeln. Es ist erfreulich zu sehen, dass sich Beiträge im Tagungsband bereits mit diesen Themen befassen. Auch wenn die Konferenz in diesem Jahr nicht wie üblich stattfinden kann, um die Themen persönlich zu diskutieren, so bietet der Tagungsband doch zumindest die Möglichkeit, den interessierten Leserinnen und Leser über die Themen zu informieren. Als Hauptredner der Tagung war mein geschätzter Kollege em. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Klaus Ehrlenspiel vorgesehen. Auch wenn der Vortrag nicht stattgefunden hat, freue ich mich, dass er einen Beitrag verfasst hat, um aus seiner langjährigen Erfahrung abgeleitete Ansätze für eine zukünftige Ausrichtung der Konstruktionsforschung mit uns zu teilen. Ich möchte allen Autoren danken und hoffe, dass Sie alle die Corona-Pandemie bei guter Gesundheit überstehen.

Technischer Fortschritt wird heute von den meisten Ökonomen als ökonomisches Phänomen anerkannt, dem volle Aufmerksamkeit gelten soll. Dies gilt nicht zuletzt, weil sein Beitrag zum Wirtschaftswachstum von entscheidender Bedeutung ist und quantitativ - je nach Berechnungsart - zwischen 40 % und 60 % (z.B. Schweiz) liegt. Dabei ist allerdings zu beachten, dass sowohl die Rate des technischen Fortschritts als auch dessen Beitrag zum Wirtschaftswachstum von Land zu Land und von Wirtschaftszweig zu Wirtschaftszweig quantitativ verschieden sind. Es bestehen sowohl international wie interindustriell beträchtliche Unterschiede im technischen Fortschritt und damit im Wirtschaftswachstum. Es ist das Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit, eine kurze Zusammenfassung dieser Diskussion - v.a. aus industrieökonomischer Sicht - zu liefern. Konkret lautet die Hauptfrage hier wie folgt: Welches sind theoretisch die Determinanten interindustrieller Unterschiede im technischen Fortschritt? High expectations rest on the development of beyond Li-Ion battery systems [1]. Especially, lithium-sulfur batteries (Li/S) are believed to be a promising candidate already in the near future. Despite the increasing efforts to realize a large-scale commercialization several fundamental properties of Li/S batteries are still a matter of intensive research. Recently, several groups investigated the influence of surface properties at the positive electrode, like the affinity towards polysulfides or surface roughness, on the morphology and spatial distribution of solid charge and discharge products [2]–[4]. The results indicate that a spatial control of the formation of solid Li2S is able to improve battery performance, however, additional design guidelines are needed to optimize this approach. Simulations on the continuum scale give the opportunity to interpret the measurements, improve our understanding of relevant processes, and allow for an optimization of interface, electrode and, cell designs. In our contribution we will present simulation results of a detailed model describing the nucleation, growth, and dissolution of the solid end-products S8 and Li2S in Li/S batteries. In our calculations we simulate the dynamic evolution of the corresponding particle size distributions at various positions in the cell and take into account their effect on transport properties and active surface areas. The model is integrated in our framework for the simulation of metal-sulfur (Me/S) batteries which handles the reaction and transport of dissolved sulfur species on cell level [5]. This multiscale approach allows us to track the concentration and volume fraction of sulfur species during cycling and additionally gives the opportunity for a systematic study of the polysulfide shuttle. The simulated evolution of solid volume fractions and particle size distributions are in good qualitative agreement with data of X-ray in-operando measurements recently published in the literature [6] and correlate the morphological properties of the electrode to the electrochemical characteristics. In a next step the model will be used to investigate the influence of additional positive electrode materials with different specific surface area and/or affinity towards sulfur species in order to assess their impact on battery performance. This approach provides mechanistic insights on the operation of Li/S batteries and will contribute to the understanding and, therefore, improvement of next-generation batteries

Computation time for performance estimation is saved by using a simplified mathematical model for the concentrator optics: the reflected image of each heliostat is described by a circular normal distribution. This approximation is justified when the standard deviation of the statistical mirror error exceeds 1 mrad. The paper shows details about the mathematical model and its validation. The HFLCAL code has been continuously used and enhanced in numerous R&D projects. The current features of HFLCAL comprise (among others) automatic multi-aiming, secondary concentrator optics, tower reflector systems, various receiver models and the ability of least-cost optimization with various optimization algorithms. A graphical user interface has been added to the program that supports menu-driven interactive commands and depicts calculation results in a display window.
