Samal B. Sadykova in OpenAIREThis report dwells on the scientific study of the vortical device. The device is designed for efficient combustion of fossil fuels. Oil-water emulsion was taken as an example of alternative fuel. Although the functionality of the burner device is not limited to this fuel only. The innovative burner device under investigation is based on principal of vortical motion of fuel air mixture. There is a precombustion chamber specially designed, where inflammation and partial combustion of the swirling flow takes place. The article describes experiment on defining the geometric dimensioning of the burner discharge nozzle in relation to a combustion chamber. The position of the outlet nozzle inside of the burner is the main input parameter of this research. The authors analyzed the influence of this parameter on the pressure inside the combustion chamber and the electric load of the fan for the supplying combustion air. The position ranged from 0 to 120%. The optimal position is at 50% of the total length of the burner chamber. The pressure graph has an extremum in this position, and the electric energy consumption by the fan changes less significantly with further deepening of the output nozzle than earlier. The Results are presented for cold (air blowing only) and hot experiment (burning). This experiment proved the need for the design of the inner part of the discharge nozzle, which is a design feature of the burner device for which the European patent was obtained. The patent link is presented in the list of references.

Gulmira Andabayeva in OpenAIREThe article is devoted to the current state and analysis of factors affecting the use of alternative energy sources on a global scale. There is a constant growth in volumes energy consumption, which is associated with the stability of the global economy, increasing costs for heating and cooling in various parts of the world. At the same time in the most densely populated areas (China, India), coal accounts for up to 80 % of the energy balance, which leads to an increase in CO2emissions. In this regard, the article notes the need to switch to the use of alternative energy sources (wind, solar, hydro, geothermal and biomass, nuclear energy). The article analysis the current state of energy sources in developed countries according to statistics for 2018. The authors concludes that the growth rate of renewable energy resources is insufficient, despite their advantage over traditional sources. In this regard, the factors affecting the efficiency of renewable energy sources were summarized. In addition, the article identifies barriers that prevent the acceleration of the rate of replacing traditional energy sources with RES. At the same time, state support measures and relevant legislative acts play a special role in stimulating and attracting the necessary investments.

Analysis of scientific and innovation activities in Kazakhstan show that among the main sources of financing science there are almost no business representatives. An assessment of the current state of the national innovation system demonstrates that with the existing system of financing science in Kazakhstan there is no possibility to increase the costs of research and development. The overall reduction in domestic R&D expenditures over the period analyzed had the most negative impact on the financing of basic research. The results of the study show the need to revise some of the value settings for building a national innovation system in Kazakhstan.

A number of companies are already applying the world’s best practices for exploration, extraction and processing of underground resources. There are also good practices which could and should be implemented and refined to achieve the sustainable development of the extractive industry. Currently, the Bulgarian mining enterprises are operating successfully and profitably. More than 300 companies and organizations in the field of exploration, extraction and processing of underground resources and related activities and services are operating in the industry. The development of the business organizations is largely determined by the available production resources, their quality and the efficiency of their usage. One of the main resources which differs significantly from the rest is the human resource. It possesses a certain level of qualification and professional development, crucial for the productivity and prosperity. The purpose of this article is to study and analyze the educational and vocational qualification profile of the human resources employed in the quarrying industry of Bulgaria, revealing the actual possibilities for their optimal use and development for achieving higher productivity and competitiveness.

Taking into account all the pros and cons of classical types of electricity production, more and more attention is paid to new, emerging sources, in particular, biofuels and processing of production and consumption waste. Wind power is an innovation that has received investment for development before, but the previous advanced production has not had much success. Russia and the international community have recognized the advantages of renewable energy sources based on wind over traditional energy sources, and the Russian wind energy industry has become the object of close attention not only of domestic entrepreneurs, but also of foreign companies that consider it as a profitable industry for long-term investment.

It is emphasized that along with the industrial progress observed in recent years in the East Kazakhstan region in such sectors of the economy as machinery and metal working, heat and power, woodworking, timber, light and food industries, production of building materials, the level of environmental pollution has increased. The article gives examples of how the activities of the enterprises of metallurgical industry, heat power engineering and motor transport cause a real threat of the environmental crisis in the region. It is concluded that the solution of the environmental problem is possible through comprehensive measures, including the issues of increasing the efficiency of use and protection of water resources, reducing the chemical load on the soil, creating infrastructure for waste processing, improving the health and quality of life of the residents of the region. These measures together can contribute to overcoming the current environmental crisis of the East Kazakhstan region and radically improving the environment as well become the key to optimizing the region’s environment. The methodological basis of the study is the principle of scientific objectivity, which allows analyzing the subject under study taking into account the realities of economic changes in theregion.

Globally, buildings are responsible for a significant share in energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions profiles. Various attempts are undertaken to increase the energy efficiency of buildings and reduce their environmental impact. In semi-continental climate conditions with very hot summers and extremely cold winters, buildings should be carefully designed to ensure efficient harnessing of solar energy and reducing energy loss due to poor insulation and inappropriate use of materials. Amidst the fast development of the construction industry, different façade systems are used in Kazakhstan. In several cases, the choice of the façade materials is defined not by performance but rather by economic aspects and physical appearance. This project aimed to investigate various types of façades adopted in the construction of residential buildings and assess their performance in terms of their impact on buildings’ energy consumption. The preliminary results indicate that there are five main types of façades widely used. Five different models were therefore built using energy simulation software and the respective energy consumption data were estimated. The results testify that buildings with brickwork (clay bricks) and stonework (travertine) façades were more energy efficient than those with brickwork (silica bricks), aluminum composite panels and decorated plaster façades.
