Closed-loop supply chain networks are gaining research popularity due to environmental, economic and social concerns. Such networks are primarily designed to overcome carbon footprints and to retrieve end of life products from customers. This study considers a multi echelon closed-loop supply chain in the presence of machine disruption. A multi-objective model is presented to optimize the total cost, the total time and emissions in a closed-loop supply chain network. The aim is to analyze the trade-off between the objectives of cost, time, and emissions and how these decisions are impacted by the selection of different available machines. A number of solution approaches are tested on a case study from the tire industry. The results suggest the improved performance of the hybrid heuristic and the importance of controlling disruption in a closed-loop supply chain network. Furthermore, there is a trade-off between the different objective functions which can help the decision maker to choose a particular solution according to the preference of an organization. Finally, conclusion and future research avenues are provided.

To reach this goal, recent studies have extended ecological footprint (EF) analysis to identify the ecological drivers of various key industry sectors. The role of the phosphorus (P) industry on the EF within the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) framework for China is the emphasis of this study. Autoregressive distributive lag (ARDL) as well as the impulse response function and robustness analysis were used to consider a time from 1985 to 2018. The study verifies the EKC hypothesis for China in both the long and the short run, and indispensable determinants are proposed to be included to assure the model’s fitness and robustness when conducting EF analysis of industry sectors. Energy consumption–based carbon emissions have been verified as the dominant contributor to EF, but P use and urbanization have a significant lagged positive influence on EF in the short run. P exports, in particular, have been highlighted as a critical driver of the EF of China’s P industry. The conducted frequency domain causality test reinforced the above findings and demonstrated bidirectional causality at different frequencies. This work suggests that formulating plausible P export policies to alleviate the conflict between the output of China’s P industry and the environmental sustainability of this industry are necessary. In this context, “multidisciplinary, multidimensional, and practical solutions” are most desirable for sustainable P management.

Shorokhov; Sergey Zhironkin; Sergey Zhironkin; Julia Suslova; Andrey Voloshin; At the present stage of the transition to sustainable development, when the share of a green economy in technologically advanced countries reaches one third of GDP, overcoming the structural crisis of the Russia is inseparable from reducing the technological gap and structural imbalances in the economy. These imbalances alienate Russia from ecologically and technologically advanced countries. Therefore, it is highly relevant to develop a methodology for assessing the structural convergence of the economy in the context of the transition to sustainable development, accompanied in developed countries by a new type of structural shift caused by the expansion of convergent technologies, the emergence of new principles of sectoral genesis and the formation of a green economy. The deepening of the divergent nature of Russian economy development was the result of a series of negative structural shifts that consolidated the dominance of extractive and resource-intensive industries, which threaten the final loss of technological identity, consolidation of the recessive trend and a lag in the transition to sustainable development. Therefore, today it is extremely important to formulate a methodology for assessing the structural convergence of Russian economy with technological and ecologically advanced countries, taking into account both quantitative and qualitative aspects.

Therefore, the issues of choosing an effective mechanism for sustainable rural development that can solve rural problems on a scientific basis, creating prerequisites for the growth of the regional economy, are of particular relevance. The main problems of rural territories of the Krasnoyarsk region – the outflow of population, the unfavorable ratio of incomes of rural and urban populations, the unsatisfactory state of housing conditions worsen the prospects for growth of the region’s economy based on the using the potential of the agro-industrial complex. To eliminate these restrictions, a special mechanism of state regulation for industrial and social development of rural territories is needed. An important element of such a mechanism should be a system of indicators that allows effective monitoring of sustainable development of industrial and social subsystems in rural territories. The article attempts to offer such a system of indicators.

Karakozova; Yulia S. Prokhorova;Introduction. If higher professional education can be attributed to the strategic development of specialists in the construction industry, since during the training period they lay the initial base of professional knowledge, skills, skills, then additional professional education is a tactical solution to the issues of obtaining specialized knowledge, skills and abilities that a specialist needs at a given time to solve professional tasks. The modern trend within the information society is the concept of lifelong learning, taking into account the capabilities and needs of a specialist in the construction industry. Continuing education is aimed at ensuring human rights: on their development, changing the type of activity, profession. The development of the system of continuous education of specialists in the construction industry acts as the most important direction of innovative development of educational activities. This requires a flexible system of tools, forms, methods, models that take into account organizational, economic, digital and innovative changes that contribute to improving the quality of education. The results of the conducted research have shown that the development of the system of additional professional education has faced a number of problems of an objective and subjective nature due to the lack of separate organizational transformations that take into account the modern needs of the market. Materials and methods. A systematic approach, general theoretical methods of cognition (analysis, synthesis, analogy, generalization, comparison, comparison, and others), as well as graphical modeling. Results. An approach is presented that complements the Russian economic theory with a methodology for determining the effectiveness of implementing management decisions on the process of innovative development of the system of additional vocational education, and allows assessing the ability of this educational system to adapt to the conditions of a dynamically changing labor market. Conclusions. The analysis proves that the effective development of organizational management relations is of particular importance and can be implemented on the basis of a scientifically based algorithm that will ultimately improve the economic efficiency and manageability of the system of additional vocational education.

Demand response (DR) has played a vital role in energy management and improved it with the involvement of residential consumers who participate in such programs from utilities for scheduling their appliances to the off peak hours. In this paper, we have proposed a world-wide adaptive thermostat model for effectively managing the power in all countries of the world. The proposed approach has been evaluated with the help of fuzzy logic and its two inference systems (FIS): 1) Mamdani and 2) Takagi Sugeno. Utilizing the membership functions; outdoor temperature, user occupancy, utility price and initialized setpoints are evaluated for maintaining the buildings temperature. Furthermore, energy consumption in buildings is analyzed by tuning the indoor initialized setpoints while considering all the aforementioned parameters. Simulations are conducted in Matlab to validate the proposed system model and results show that energy consumption in cold countries is reduced upto 45% as compared to the existing programmable approach.
