The paper focuses on Sheremetyevo International Airport, one of the largest Russian airports and analyzes it in terms of short-term and long-term perspectives. Using real statistical data, the article presents the models for forecasting essential performance indicators of airports, namely, passenger traffic and revenue. By comparing quality characteristics, most suitable models were selected and checked for adequacy. Forecasts of the probable changes in the values of the performance indicators were made under the assumption of maintaining the previously formed development trend.

Klepikova;The oil production and refining processes are directly dependent on historical and political processes. The world wars of the 20th century were catalysts for the transformation of oil as the main energy resource. The capacity of enterprises in the oil refining industry is important for the development of politics and economies of states because oil products are one of the most sought after goods. Addressing the problem of capacity development for oil resource processing at Russian refineries is a relevant topic to build an effective policy for the distribution of global oil resources. The purpose of this paper is to identify the distribution trends in oil resource refining capacities in Russia. The developed method allows us to determine the dynamics of refining capacities in all regions of the country, establish the contributions of refinery groups to regional and countrywide capacities, and identify trends in the capacity concentrations of refineries and regions. The timeline that was used for the research period is 2009–2019. The results of the study showed increases in processing capacity in all federal districts. By 2019, the Volga Federal District provided the largest annual contribution to the countrywide capacity. The Southern Federal District moved up from the fourth to second position. It was followed by the Siberian, Central, Northwestern, Far Eastern, and Ural Federal Districts. The trends in the distribution capacities across the country indicate the prospect for building additional refineries in the Asian part of Russia. Rosneft was the leader, while Gazprom retained the second position. Independent refiners took the third position in terms of total refinery capacity, with Lukoil in the fourth position. Furthermore, Surgut-NG, Tatneft, Mini refineries, and NOVATEK followed the top four positions. The changes in concentration ratios indicated the increased monopolization of the refinery market. A decisive contribution to this process was due to by Rosneft’s takeover of TNK-BP and Bashneft’s capacities. The changes in regional concentrations were influenced by the changes in processing capacities of the Volga Federal District.

Over the last few decades, environmental deterioration has accelerated significantly. Environmental degradation has been a subject of research across the world because of its impact on billions of people. However, there has been no international agreement on lowering the utilization of energy and CO2 emissions (CO2), while demand for fossil fuels grows in emerging economies. On the other hand, the recent COP26 summit brought all parties together to accelerate action toward reaching the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. Although previous research shows that international trade promotes positive socioeconomic outcomes, other experts argue that it contributes to natural resource shortages and ecological deterioration. Thus, the current research considers the effect of international trade, renewable energy use and technological innovation on consumption-based carbon emissions (CCO2), coupled with the role of financial development and economic growth in the BRICS economies between 1990 and 2018. Moreover, this research utilizes the common correlated effects mean group (CCEMG), augmented mean group (AMG) and Dumitrescu and Hurlin (2012) causality methods to assess these interrelationships. The study findings reveal that renewable energy use, exports and technological innovation mitigate CCO2, whereas economic growth and imports trigger CCO2 in the BRICS economies. The panel causality outcomes also reveal that all the variables except financial development can predict CCO2 emissions. Based on the study findings, we recommend the adoption of policies, regulations and the development of legislative frameworks that promote technological innovation and the shift toward sustainable energy.

These imbalances alienate Russia from ecologically and technologically advanced countries. Therefore, it is highly relevant to develop a methodology for assessing the structural convergence of the economy in the context of the transition to sustainable development, accompanied in developed countries by a new type of structural shift caused by the expansion of convergent technologies, the emergence of new principles of sectoral genesis and the formation of a green economy. The deepening of the divergent nature of Russian economy development was the result of a series of negative structural shifts that consolidated the dominance of extractive and resource-intensive industries, which threaten the final loss of technological identity, consolidation of the recessive trend and a lag in the transition to sustainable development. Therefore, today it is extremely important to formulate a methodology for assessing the structural convergence of Russian economy with technological and ecologically advanced countries, taking into account both quantitative and qualitative aspects.

The authors deal with the issue, whether the rupture of economic links and financial schemes, as well as the exception of the Russian companies from the international ESG-ratings can lead to refusal of the ESG-principles in management. The features, peculiar to each of the ESG aspects in the conditions of the anti-Russian sanctions in 2022 are considered. The problems and strengths of the Russian companies, the degree of prevalence of the ESG principles among the Russian entrepreneurs are revealed. According to the data of analyst companies, research and polls, the authors conclude, that the enterprises applying the ESG-principles have more chances to recover from the current crisis successfully.

Y.; Politov, A. Y.;Two alternative designs of a hermetically sealed extractor, the drive of which utilizes a cylindrical magnetic clutch, are examined. In the first version, the driving half coupling is internal, and the driven half coupling external. In the second version, the driving half coupling is external, and the driven internal. It is shown that as the extractor based on the first design begins to accelerate with use of a frequency regulator that permits smooth variation in current frequency, the maximum angle of mismatch between the half couplings of the magnetic clutch is less then 0.5π rad. The proposed design of the extractor has been tested at an establishment manufacturing radiochemical products, and placed in experimental-industrial service. Extraction is one of the basic critical production processes at chemical and radiochemical establishments. Centrifugal extractors allow for significant improvement in mass-exchange characteristics of the process, acceleration and optimization of the process, and compact layout of the extraction equipment. The extractor is distinguished by a short contact time between the working solution and organic extractant. Until recently, use of this equipment in radiochemical-production processes had been suppressed due to the destructive effect of radioactive radiation on the seals, lubrication, and electric motor. The building of a centrifugal extractor with high mass-exchange characteristics, which ensures serviceability under these conditions, is therefore critical. Centrifugal extractors in which an asynchronous motor is employed as the drive, and the support assemblies for the rotor of which are built on journal bearings formed from silicide graphite, have been developed for solution of this problem. Airtightness of the extractor is provided by a magnetic clutch that transfers rotational movement from the driven half coupling via a dividing partition (shield), which hermetically separates the effective chamber of the extractor from the surrounding medium [1]. Datta;Problem statement: The success story of VRS in National Carbon Company-a unit of Eveready Industries India Ltd., Kolkata, which was the first dry cell manufacturing plant in India, is an eye opener for research scholars, practicing managers, trade union leaders and for the management students. Over the years, technology was not upgraded and so the labor cost of this unit was quite high compared to the other modernized units. The management, in order to make the plant viable took drastic measures of downsizing its workforce through VRS. Approach: The study on the success of VRS in National Carbon Company was to find out the modalities adopted by management to make the VR scheme successful. Results: Downsizing alone cannot reduce labor cost for an industry. Technology upgradation along with downsizing can reduce labor cost. Revision of VR scheme time and again helped the organization to reduce the workforce from 3500-414. Conclusion: VRS cannot be made successful if introduced unilaterally. Positive response in downsizing through VRS can be obtained provided the Trade Union extends wholehearted support for the same.

The analysis of formation and distribution structure of taxes, the dynamics of average wages, the quality of life, social satisfaction and entrepreneurial confidence allow the authors to make the conclusions about the need for changing the financial policies of the regions in relation to companies in the industry. In particular, it is proposed to use the mechanism of deferred tax payments which will lead to an increase in the efficiency of the activities of both the mining companies themselves and the regions afterward.

Coal still continues to play the most important role in the world energy. In recent years, external factors have become extremely negative for the development of coal energy. Among other fuels, coal produces the largest specific emissions of CO2 during its combustion, in view of which it may become the first victim of the unfolding energy decarbonization policy. Under such conditions, there is a need to diversify the coal utilization fields, primarily through manufacturing a wide range of chemical products with a high added value. This generates the need to develop the appropriate technologies, and, first of all, gasification technologies, the use of which opens the possibility of making almost the entire range of products from coal that are obtained from petroleum and natural gas. It has been determined that gasification technologies have already reached a high level of technical maturity, and a large number of gasifier designs have been proposed. It has been determined that the majority of operating coal gasification plants are presently used for manufacturing various chemical products, first of all, natural gas substitute (which is then forwarded to gas networks) and also methanol and ammonia. It is pointed out that only a few integrated gasification combined cycle plants have been implemented and planned for construction, which means that the private sector shows little interest in this technology. At the same time, such plants have quite a high potential for being used in low-carbon energy, of course, provided that the problem of disposing the captured CO2 is solved. It is shown that a large number of gasifier equipment manufacturers are available around the world. However, gasifiers are produced in single units or in a small series, which unavoidably leads to the high cost of this equipment. For the further innovative development of the gasification technology, combined efforts should be taken by the private sector and the state.

The paper focuses on Sheremetyevo International Airport, one of the largest Russian airports and analyzes it in terms of short-term and long-term perspectives. Using real statistical data, the article presents the models for forecasting essential performance indicators of airports, namely, passenger traffic and revenue. By comparing quality characteristics, most suitable models were selected and checked for adequacy. Forecasts of the probable changes in the values of the performance indicators were made under the assumption of maintaining the previously formed development trend.

Klepikova;The oil production and refining processes are directly dependent on historical and political processes. The world wars of the 20th century were catalysts for the transformation of oil as the main energy resource. The capacity of enterprises in the oil refining industry is important for the development of politics and economies of states because oil products are one of the most sought after goods. Addressing the problem of capacity development for oil resource processing at Russian refineries is a relevant topic to build an effective policy for the distribution of global oil resources. The purpose of this paper is to identify the distribution trends in oil resource refining capacities in Russia. The developed method allows us to determine the dynamics of refining capacities in all regions of the country, establish the contributions of refinery groups to regional and countrywide capacities, and identify trends in the capacity concentrations of refineries and regions. The timeline that was used for the research period is 2009–2019. The results of the study showed increases in processing capacity in all federal districts. By 2019, the Volga Federal District provided the largest annual contribution to the countrywide capacity. The Southern Federal District moved up from the fourth to second position. It was followed by the Siberian, Central, Northwestern, Far Eastern, and Ural Federal Districts. The trends in the distribution capacities across the country indicate the prospect for building additional refineries in the Asian part of Russia. Rosneft was the leader, while Gazprom retained the second position. Independent refiners took the third position in terms of total refinery capacity, with Lukoil in the fourth position. Furthermore, Surgut-NG, Tatneft, Mini refineries, and NOVATEK followed the top four positions. The changes in concentration ratios indicated the increased monopolization of the refinery market. A decisive contribution to this process was due to by Rosneft’s takeover of TNK-BP and Bashneft’s capacities. The changes in regional concentrations were influenced by the changes in processing capacities of the Volga Federal District.

Over the last few decades, environmental deterioration has accelerated significantly. Environmental degradation has been a subject of research across the world because of its impact on billions of people. However, there has been no international agreement on lowering the utilization of energy and CO2 emissions (CO2), while demand for fossil fuels grows in emerging economies. On the other hand, the recent COP26 summit brought all parties together to accelerate action toward reaching the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. Although previous research shows that international trade promotes positive socioeconomic outcomes, other experts argue that it contributes to natural resource shortages and ecological deterioration. Thus, the current research considers the effect of international trade, renewable energy use and technological innovation on consumption-based carbon emissions (CCO2), coupled with the role of financial development and economic growth in the BRICS economies between 1990 and 2018. Moreover, this research utilizes the common correlated effects mean group (CCEMG), augmented mean group (AMG) and Dumitrescu and Hurlin (2012) causality methods to assess these interrelationships. The study findings reveal that renewable energy use, exports and technological innovation mitigate CCO2, whereas economic growth and imports trigger CCO2 in the BRICS economies. The panel causality outcomes also reveal that all the variables except financial development can predict CCO2 emissions. Based on the study findings, we recommend the adoption of policies, regulations and the development of legislative frameworks that promote technological innovation and the shift toward sustainable energy.

Therefore, it is highly relevant to develop a methodology for assessing the structural convergence of the economy in the context of the transition to sustainable development, accompanied in developed countries by a new type of structural shift caused by the expansion of convergent technologies, the emergence of new principles of sectoral genesis and the formation of a green economy. The deepening of the divergent nature of Russian economy development was the result of a series of negative structural shifts that consolidated the dominance of extractive and resource-intensive industries, which threaten the final loss of technological identity, consolidation of the recessive trend and a lag in the transition to sustainable development. The features, peculiar to each of the ESG aspects in the conditions of the anti-Russian sanctions in 2022 are considered. The problems and strengths of the Russian companies, the degree of prevalence of the ESG principles among the Russian entrepreneurs are revealed. According to the data of analyst companies, research and polls, the authors conclude, that the enterprises applying the ESG-principles have more chances to recover from the current crisis successfully.

Y.; Politov, A. Y.;Two alternative designs of a hermetically sealed extractor, the drive of which utilizes a cylindrical magnetic clutch, are examined. In the first version, the driving half coupling is internal, and the driven half coupling external. In the second version, the driving half coupling is external, and the driven internal. It is shown that as the extractor based on the first design begins to accelerate with use of a frequency regulator that permits smooth variation in current frequency, the maximum angle of mismatch between the half couplings of the magnetic clutch is less then 0.5π rad. The proposed design of the extractor has been tested at an establishment manufacturing radiochemical products, and placed in experimental-industrial service. Extraction is one of the basic critical production processes at chemical and radiochemical establishments. Centrifugal extractors allow for significant improvement in mass-exchange characteristics of the process, acceleration and optimization of the process, and compact layout of the extraction equipment. The extractor is distinguished by a short contact time between the working solution and organic extractant. Until recently, use of this equipment in radiochemical-production processes had been suppressed due to the destructive effect of radioactive radiation on the seals, lubrication, and electric motor. The building of a centrifugal extractor with high mass-exchange characteristics, which ensures serviceability under these conditions, is therefore critical. Centrifugal extractors in which an asynchronous motor is employed as the drive, and the support assemblies for the rotor of which are built on journal bearings formed from silicide graphite, have been developed for solution of this problem. Airtightness of the extractor is provided by a magnetic clutch that transfers rotational movement from the driven half coupling via a dividing partition (shield), which hermetically separates the effective chamber of the extractor from the surrounding medium [1]. Datta;Problem statement: The success story of VRS in National Carbon Company-a unit of Eveready Industries India Ltd., Kolkata, which was the first dry cell manufacturing plant in India, is an eye opener for research scholars, practicing managers, trade union leaders and for the management students. Over the years, technology was not upgraded and so the labor cost of this unit was quite high compared to the other modernized units. The management, in order to make the plant viable took drastic measures of downsizing its workforce through VRS. Approach: The study on the success of VRS in National Carbon Company was to find out the modalities adopted by management to make the VR scheme successful. Results: Downsizing alone cannot reduce labor cost for an industry. Technology upgradation along with downsizing can reduce labor cost. Revision of VR scheme time and again helped the organization to reduce the workforce from 3500-414. Conclusion: VRS cannot be made successful if introduced unilaterally. Positive response in downsizing through VRS can be obtained provided the Trade Union extends wholehearted support for the same.

The analysis of formation and distribution structure of taxes, the dynamics of average wages, the quality of life, social satisfaction and entrepreneurial confidence allow the authors to make the conclusions about the need for changing the financial policies of the regions in relation to companies in the industry. In particular, it is proposed to use the mechanism of deferred tax payments which will lead to an increase in the efficiency of the activities of both the mining companies themselves and the regions afterward.

Filippov;The article presents results from analyzing the state of the art achieved in the coal gasification technologies developed around the world and the demand for them. It is shown that such technologies have presently arrived at a crossroad in their development. Their future will be determined by the development prospects of coal energy as a whole. Coal still continues to play the most important role in the world energy. In recent years, external factors have become extremely negative for the development of coal energy. Among other fuels, coal produces the largest specific emissions of CO2 during its combustion, in view of which it may become the first victim of the unfolding energy decarbonization policy. Under such conditions, there is a need to diversify the coal utilization fields, primarily through manufacturing a wide range of chemical products with a high added value. This generates the need to develop the appropriate technologies, and, first of all, gasification technologies, the use of which opens the possibility of making almost the entire range of products from coal that are obtained from petroleum and natural gas. It has been determined that gasification technologies have already reached a high level of technical maturity, and a large number of gasifier designs have been proposed. It has been determined that the majority of operating coal gasification plants are presently used for manufacturing various chemical products, first of all, natural gas substitute (which is then forwarded to gas networks) and also methanol and ammonia. It is pointed out that only a few integrated gasification combined cycle plants have been implemented and planned for construction, which means that the private sector shows little interest in this technology. At the same time, such plants have quite a high potential for being used in low-carbon energy, of course, provided that the problem of disposing the captured CO2 is solved. It is shown that a large number of gasifier equipment manufacturers are available around the world. However, gasifiers are produced in single units or in a small series, which unavoidably leads to the high cost of this equipment. For the further innovative development of the gasification technology, combined efforts should be taken by the private sector and the state.
