    Energy router is an intelligent power electronic device that can realize the active management of power flow and provide convenient access to distributed energy resource. This paper presents the structure of an AC-DC hybrid multi-port energy router, which acts as the interface between the power consumer and the distribution network. The corresponding coordinated control strategy is developed to guarantee the regular operation of the energy router and a mode switch strategy with advanced compensation is proposed to achieve seamless transition between grid-connected mode and islanded mode. A novel and practical fuzzy logic controller considering unit-time electricity charge is proposed for the energy router to prolong battery life, to improve economic benefits of power consumers, and to smooth fluctuations of renewable energy generation or load consumption. The simulation and experimental results have validated the coordinated control and energy management strategies and demonstrated that the energy router has satisfactory performance.

    The scope of this paper is to present the work carried out by the European project SUNRISE which aims at strengthening the interaction between architects, construction companies and PV module manufactures. The fruitful cooperation between the PV community and the key stakeholders just mentioned will lead to a larger deployment of PV systems in building and therefore to a substantially cost reduction.     It is well known, that the electrical energy storage in the large scale is basically a difficult process. Such a process is connected with energy losses, as most frequently it is the conversion of electrical energy into another form, for example mechanical, and then back to the primal electrical form. Though, the SMES technology offers the energy storage in an unchanged form, which is advantageous primarily in the achieved efficiency. The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) devices, commonly used in the medical facilities are based on the basis of superconducting magnet. After its rejection from operation, (basically caused only by its „software fustiness“ and not by functional faults), there is a possibility of using such devices for the energy storage purposes. Additionally, such a technology of storage is also ecological. A research project is running at the Faculty of Mining, Ecology, Process Control and Geotechnologies (F BERG), the Department of Business and Management, in the field of using rejected MRI for energy storage purposes.

    In the study of waterflood process using scaled physical models, there are some factors like petrophysics, geometry, pressure and others properties of the porous media that are impossible to reproduce exactly, because the conditions present a big difference. Now, if it is impossible to reproduce the porous media in laboratory, petrophysics properties are going to be different too, like these properties determine flow fluids the production results between field and laboratory are different. However, scaled models are very expensive but if you are going to study a new process where the physics is not unknow, they are a big help, then ¿What can you do with the difference in petrophysical properties? Well, you can ignore this difference or pay a lot of money additionally for ¿try¿ of build a better porous media. But, there is a third option that you can include for the calculation of the difference in petrophysical properties; the question is ¿How? In this work it was proposed a new method based in the difference of mobile porous volume, because this property have relation with residual saturations, porosity and scale factor. Use of this method is limited for some characteristics like geometry, we used a configuration of two wells in a eighth of five spot; the reservoir must be homogeneous without shale intercalations, and finally fluids used in field and laboratory must present equal mobility relation. When you are going to use this graphic method, it is necessary to know mobile porous volume in field, the scale factor used and mobile porous volume in model. With these properties, you can read a difference factor for the recovery factor in the graphic and with this value you can matching your recovery factor and other production data, to get a best result with your physical models.

    La variabilidad anatómica presente en los cerebros de pacientes limita la realización de análisis estadísticos acerca de la presencia o ausencia de una patología. En este artículo, presentamos una aproximación para la clasificación de imágenes de Resonancia Magnética (MR) cerebral de sujetos sanos y afectados por una patología. El enfoque se basa en un mapa de saliencia, el cual extrae regiones de cambio relativo en tres diferentes dimensiones: intensidad, orientación y bordes. Las regiones de interés obtenidas se utilizan como patrones para la clasificación de sujetos utilizando máquinas de vectores de soporte.     Implementation of professional practice in the course of education process at universities is an important element allowing students to strengthen the knowledge they gained, to acquire relevant skills and to form positive personality traits. The aim of the paper is to evaluate the quality of professional practice in students’ opinion on the basis of the onshore professional practice organized at the Commodity Science and Quality Management specialization at the Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Quality Science at the Gdynia Maritime University. The article presents general rules of organizing practice and it analyses survey questionnaires filled in by students following the realization of the professional practice in the years 2014–2016. Additionally, the results of the students’ perception of the practice are compared with the assessment as granted by the host companies concerning the apprentices’ profiles as future employees of the industry. The conducted analysis allowed to suggest measures to improve the implementation of professional practice at the Commodity Science and Quality Management specialization at the Gdynia Maritime University.

    Energy router is an intelligent power electronic device that can realize the active management of power flow and provide convenient access to distributed energy resource. This paper presents the structure of an AC-DC hybrid multi-port energy router, which acts as the interface between the power consumer and the distribution network. The corresponding coordinated control strategy is developed to guarantee the regular operation of the energy router and a mode switch strategy with advanced compensation is proposed to achieve seamless transition between grid-connected mode and islanded mode. A novel and practical fuzzy logic controller considering unit-time electricity charge is proposed for the energy router to prolong battery life, to improve economic benefits of power consumers, and to smooth fluctuations of renewable energy generation or load consumption. The simulation and experimental results have validated the coordinated control and energy management strategies and demonstrated that the energy router has satisfactory performance.

    The scope of this paper is to present the work carried out by the European project SUNRISE which aims at strengthening the interaction between architects, construction companies and PV module manufactures. The fruitful cooperation between the PV community and the key stakeholders just mentioned will lead to a larger deployment of PV systems in building and therefore to a substantially cost reduction.     It is well known, that the electrical energy storage in the large scale is basically a difficult process. Such a process is connected with energy losses, as most frequently it is the conversion of electrical energy into another form, for example mechanical, and then back to the primal electrical form. Though, the SMES technology offers the energy storage in an unchanged form, which is advantageous primarily in the achieved efficiency. The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) devices, commonly used in the medical facilities are based on the basis of superconducting magnet. After its rejection from operation, (basically caused only by its „software fustiness“ and not by functional faults), there is a possibility of using such devices for the energy storage purposes. Additionally, such a technology of storage is also ecological. A research project is running at the Faculty of Mining, Ecology, Process Control and Geotechnologies (F BERG), the Department of Business and Management, in the field of using rejected MRI for energy storage purposes.

    In the study of waterflood process using scaled physical models, there are some factors like petrophysics, geometry, pressure and others properties of the porous media that are impossible to reproduce exactly, because the conditions present a big difference. Now, if it is impossible to reproduce the porous media in laboratory, petrophysics properties are going to be different too, like these properties determine flow fluids the production results between field and laboratory are different. However, scaled models are very expensive but if you are going to study a new process where the physics is not unknow, they are a big help, then ¿What can you do with the difference in petrophysical properties? Well, you can ignore this difference or pay a lot of money additionally for ¿try¿ of build a better porous media. But, there is a third option that you can include for the calculation of the difference in petrophysical properties; the question is ¿How? In this work it was proposed a new method based in the difference of mobile porous volume, because this property have relation with residual saturations, porosity and scale factor. Use of this method is limited for some characteristics like geometry, we used a configuration of two wells in a eighth of five spot; the reservoir must be homogeneous without shale intercalations, and finally fluids used in field and laboratory must present equal mobility relation. When you are going to use this graphic method, it is necessary to know mobile porous volume in field, the scale factor used and mobile porous volume in model. With these properties, you can read a difference factor for the recovery factor in the graphic and with this value you can matching your recovery factor and other production data, to get a best result with your physical models.

    La variabilidad anatómica presente en los cerebros de pacientes limita la realización de análisis estadísticos acerca de la presencia o ausencia de una patología. En este artículo, presentamos una aproximación para la clasificación de imágenes de Resonancia Magnética (MR) cerebral de sujetos sanos y afectados por una patología. El enfoque se basa en un mapa de saliencia, el cual extrae regiones de cambio relativo en tres diferentes dimensiones: intensidad, orientación y bordes. Las regiones de interés obtenidas se utilizan como patrones para la clasificación de sujetos utilizando máquinas de vectores de soporte. El desempeño de la estrategia propuesta fue evaluado en un conjunto de 198 imágenes de MR extraídas de la base de datos OASIS y divididas en cuatro grupos, reportando una tasa de precisión promedio de y una tasa de error igual (Equal Error Rate) promedio de .

    Implementation of professional practice in the course of education process at universities is an important element allowing students to strengthen the knowledge they gained, to acquire relevant skills and to form positive personality traits. The aim of the paper is to evaluate the quality of professional practice in students’ opinion on the basis of the onshore professional practice organized at the Commodity Science and Quality Management specialization at the Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Quality Science at the Gdynia Maritime University. The article presents general rules of organizing practice and it analyses survey questionnaires filled in by students following the realization of the professional practice in the years 2014–2016. Additionally, the results of the students’ perception of the practice are compared with the assessment as granted by the host companies concerning the apprentices’ profiles as future employees of the industry. The conducted analysis allowed to suggest measures to improve the implementation of professional practice at the Commodity Science and Quality Management specialization at the Gdynia Maritime University.
