English version The planetary boundary framework enables us to describe global environmental changes based on scientific evidence. Transgression of the planetary boundaries could lead to destabilization of the Earth System. In order to prepare the planetary boundary framework for teaching, this paper addresses the question how scientists and learners understand the stability and instability of global Earth System processes. The comparison of the conceptions shows that on the basis both students and scientists conceptualize humanity as cause of Earth System instability. Main differences in the conceptions between students and scientists are shown regarding their understanding of Earth System stability as well as the consequences of Earth System instability. Furthermore, the analysis reveals that scientists take a strong anthropocentric view towards global environmental changes in comparison to the rather ecological view of the students. +repphzhbib2019W

This type of reporting, which connects themes about the environment, politics and business might be rather new to a Russian readership, as environmental journalism is just beginning to take root in the Russian media landscape. The challenges I faced confirm this assumption and include the following issues: the distance and abstractness of global issues, lack of strong political decisions and commitments, problems referring to future issues which might seem less relevant at the moment, turning complex and diverse information into linear stories, contradictory scientific research data, and many others. At the same time, in many ways, environmental journalism in Germany is quite different than in Russia – not only because media landscapes and media markets differentiate (including political and economical prerequisites), but also because the theme of sustainability has a completely different meaning and importance in political, business and social contexts. In this article I will compare environmental reporting, mostly on UN-related events, in Russian and German media, in an attempt to outline both similarities and differences between the two media markets.

(DIPF/Orig.) This article provides a detailed historical look at the development and position of adult education in global society – above all as part of the United Nations and its agencies. For many decades, the author has participated in the development of important international papers and recommendations as well as the planning and carrying out of conferences – for example CONFINTEA, the International Conferences on Adult Education organized by UNESCO. From this perspective, the review of nearly half a century of eventful (professional) biography is interwoven with the development of a project on adult education for the global community which is oriented towards the goal of peace and human rights. The motif that defines everything: Guaranteeing that there is a suitable place for adult education and lifelong learning in the international declarations of the world community. The article describes achievements and setbacks, and at the end concludes with an unwaveringly positive look into the future, for „the next CONFINTEA is just around the corner“. (DIPF/Orig.)

(DIPF/Orig.) Their article shows how young people reflect their effects of own acting on the environment. One of the main problems might be that consumption takes place incidentally and without any particular reflection. Daily consumption is to some extent blind for the environmental consequences. The focus of the analysis is directed to sustainable acting of young people. Consumption as well as other spheres of everyday life are characterised by an increasing lack of transparency. This means that conditions and consequences of consumers’ behaviour especially under conditions of globalisation become more complex and intransparent. In this context, sustainable acting depends on reflection. (DIPF/Orig.)

(DIPF/Orig.) ZEP : Zeitschrift für internationale Bildungsforschung und Entwicklungspädagogik 34 (2011) 4, S. 13-19
