The project involves the implementation of a rainwater harvesting system in a community located in an area with high rainfall. The main objective is to reduce the consumption of potable water for non-potable uses such as garden irrigation and cleaning of public spaces, thus contributing to the conservation of water resources and environmental stewardship. To achieve this goal, the installation of components such as rainwater collectors on rooftops, conduits for water conveyance, storage, and pumping systems for subsequent non-potable use is proposed. The storage capacity is designed to provide several days of autonomy in case of prolonged periods of drought or low rainfall. The system design includes capturing the initial rainfall and discarding it to remove sediment and contaminants that may accumulate on the rooftops during dry periods. This ensures that the stored water is suitable for the intended uses without compromising the health of the users or the integrity of the equipment and materials. In addition to the environmental benefits, the implementation of the rainwater harvesting system will have a positive economic impact on the community by reducing the consumption of potable water and lowering associated costs for non-potable activities. Lastly, the project aims to engage the community by explaining the system's operation, the environmental and economic benefits of its implementation, and the importance of promoting the care and conservation of natural resources. Tax incentives consist on the reduction of tax burden on the obtained income and benefit taxpayers who are aligned with the policies promoted by the State. This paper’s objective is to verify the financial feasibility of a biogas plant that uses the organic waste of palm oil extraction as raw material. A financial model was created with data obtained from a market study regarding the potential residue generated by an African palm oil extractor and estimates of its equipment costs to determine the financial viability of the project. Additionally, tax incentives for renewable energies are also included in the model to analyze sensibility of the financial profitability in various scenarios. The results show that without tax incentives the project is not financially viable. By applying tax income deductions, the project becomes financially sound.

Codi: SRP531. This work, focused in a specific area of the Andean Sierra of Ecuador located at an altitude of over 2,800 meters above sea level, analyzes the transformations of the production system of small producers facing the current threats caused by climate change. According to the inquiries made in three communities with mostly indigenous population settlements, it is emphasized that the metamorphoses of production systems do not respond precisely to changes in the weather pattern but to the interaction of several factors such as the work force, price instability and the increase in milk demand. In the micro region, despite the changes in the average temperature and precipitation, there is a process of adaptation based on technological options, such as the irrigation system, that has allowed reducing the risks of climate change because irrigation is guaranteeing the production of crops and pastures. In the last decade the lack of workforce and the growing demand for milk at the national level has changed production patterns, with dedication to small-scale livestock because, in the perception of farmers, the system of rearing is the least dependent of labor and not very difficult for women. Farmers have not left the farms in completely but continue practicing on small areas with a result of the reduction of crop areas in relation to the past, causing negative impacts on food sovereignty because by reducing crop areas the supply of local production decreases in the market. However, the family food sovereignty is also at risk because the population is turning to consume products with low nutritional content.

This book, which represents an otherwise interesting academic effort, aims to take the reader along a multidisciplinary path that allows understanding the complexity of energy, especially that obtained from biofuels, as a public matter in Argentina. To comply with the above, the author presents her ideas in four chapters that range from the explanation of the importance, relevance and use of biofuels, through political-economic, socio-environmental and commercial debates. The conclusions it offers are worthy of being considered in economies such as Mexico, which, with food sovereignty problems, seem to want to bet on biofuels of plant origin.

In addition, the actors were characterized and the incidence of Nido de Águilas and the elements of sustainability was taken into account through semi-structured interviews, taking into account the ecological, economic and social dimensions. Finally, as a result, 82 species of plants with food fines and medicinal fines were determined. On the other hand, it was determined that Nido de Águilas has a high incidence in the neorrural and institutional actors, who highlight the work it develops in terms of food availability, environmental security, agrobiodiversity, education and seed care. On the other hand, the inhabitants of the village of Llano Blanco disagree with each other about the incidence has had and thus indicate that Nido de Águilas poses strategies where they contribute to the agrobiodiversity of the path but agree on the lack of more approach and work with the inhabitants to generate greater impact. Finally it is evident that Nido de Águilas has a sustainability approach from every dimension where the actors of the territory are involved but in turn generates income for their support and all their work is done respecting the environment. For over a century the Patagonia is a place where sheep blanket extensive livestock systems operated by natural grasslands that barely has the region specially in areas with low rainfall. Moreover, the concept of sustainability in the XXI century is to meet that human - economic and social needs - are not neglected natural resources and ecology. The following work will try to measure the sustainability for extensive sheep farming systems in arid and semi-arid areas in Patagonia using a model with indicators divided into six dimensions.
