    Authors: James;

    Sustainability is an issue that is increasingly attached to the planning and design of the built environment. One issue is the sustainability of the traffic jamming. Problems of traffic jamming has become a natural thing happening in developing cities in Indonesia. Traffic jamming problems gave many negative impacts both directly and indirectly. Paradigm major cities in the world about tackling the problems of traffic jamming through the application of concepts that promote integration between land use with transportation. One concept that is applied in major cities in the world are TOD. Transit Oriented Development or TOD is a concept in an area centralized on modes of transport where the area has a comfortable distance to walk and able to perform daily activities therein without the need to use personal vehicle (automobile). Binjai as TOD development sites, is one part of the metropolitan area Mebidangro, growing city. Locations case of this design lies in the area of 1 km radius of the Binjai train station. Binjai has a station route from Medan to Aceh who stopped in its tracks until Binjai. By reviving this route to Aceh potential to make Binjai as a transit region or midpoint for opportunities of business transactions between Aceh with Medan. With the selection of the hotel and retail building functions referred to as containers / resting place during transit, to meet business partners, and conduct business transactions. The building design using functionalism architecture themes with the objectives to be achieved in sustainability and TOD, the selection of this theme intends to translate the functions that will be implemented into the design follows the functional characteristic and is expected to express / explore the design basis more depth. 110406099

    Munculnya bank sampah sebagai upaya penerapan dari UU No18 thn 2008, merupakan suatu cara pengelolaan sampah dalam aksi nyata melalui gerakkan 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) dengan melibatkan langsung masyarakat. Untuk pemerintah sendiri, bank sampah menjadi langkah awal yang baik untuk melakukan pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam memperlakukan sampah sebagai sesuatu yang mempunyai nilai guna dan manfaat. Program bank sampah yang diberdayakan di Indonesia tentunya diharapkan dapat memberikan sebuah sistem yang efektif dan efisien sehingga proses bisnis dari bank sampah yang diselenggarakan dapat maksimal. Sistem yang efektif dan efisien ini terangkum dalam suatu proses yang dikenal dengan proses adaptabilitas. Adaptabilitas bank sampah adalah kemampuan sistem bank sampah untuk bereaksi secara positip ketika proses atau kondisi faktor kunci mengalami Perubahan. Belum adanya penelitian mengenai sistem pengukuran adaptabilitas bank sampah di Indonesia, maka makalah ini menyajikan suatu ide model konseptual untuk mengukur adaptabilitas bank sampah, dengan harapan akan terbentuk pemahaman yang mendalam dari keseluruhan permasalahan atau sistem elemen yang membentuk sistem adaptabilitas bank sampah. Jika sistem adaptabilitas ini kelak bisa teramati dan terukur, maka akan berguna bagi pengambilan keputusan dalam pengalokasian sumber daya dan membuat perencanaan keberlanjutan dalam proses manajemen bank sampah. The emergence of garbage banks as an effort to implement UU No18, 2008, is a method of waste management in a real action through the 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle) by involving the public directly. For the government, a garbage bank is a good initial step for community empowerment in treating waste as something of value and beneficial. Garbage bank program empowered in Indonesia is, of course, expected to provide an effective and efficient system so that the business processes of the program can be maximized. The effective and efficient system is encapsulated in a process known as adaptability process. The adaptability of a garbage bank is the capability of a garbage bank system to react positively when the process or condition of key factors changes. The absence of research on the measurement of garbage bank adaptability system in Indonesia has given an idea to present this paper which is a conceptual model for measuring it, in hopes to form a deep understanding of the whole problem or element system that make up the adaptability system of a garbage bank. If the adaptability of this system can be observed and measured, in the future it will be useful for decision making in the allocation of resources and sustainability planning process of garbage bank management.

    This paper is summary report of study on implementation of local government designed strategies to anticipate and manage the climate change risks in Central Java. The basis of information obtained from interviews to farmers. In general, planting patterns follow schedule of water availability; therefore, farmers are more interested in talking about the lack of water compared with the excess water. According to farmers' language, climate change is the rainy season retreat. In this context, almost all respondents stated that the climate changes disrupt their farming activities. These disorders include reduction of production, planting schedule delays, increased costs of irrigation, seeds, pesticides and land management. Local agricultural agencies have been disseminating strategies to anticipate and manage the risks of climate change. Those strategies are planting reschedules, changing varieties or commodities, and improving the water management. Local governments also facilitate the implementation of those strategies, namely distribution of water pumps, and seeds according to climate prediction, and repair or construction of irrigation channels and reservoirs. Most respondents (59%) had never directly followed those socialization activities, and due to limited of the distributed facilities, only 29.87% of respondents enjoyed such facilities. However, the recipient stated that the government facilities effectively assist them in controlling the impact of climate change, and most farmers had committed the management of climate changes impacts in a manner consistent with the recommended strategy. These results show that both government assistance and collective action by farmers had the same important role in anticipating and controlling the impact of climate changes. Therefore, the government should socialize recomended strategies in a more intensive, and improve, and expand the reach of distribution facilities to implement the strategy. These efforts would stimulate farmers self-supporting as a whole, so that the programs in anticipating and controlling the impact of climate changes would be more effective.

    . Industri manufaktur skala menengah di Indonesia dihadapkan pada beberapa tantangan, seperti: ekonomi biaya tinggi, Perubahan teknologi informasi yang pesat, serta Perubahan permintaan dan pasar yang sangat dinamis. Tantangan-tantangan tersebut secara langsung maupun tidak langsung mempengaruhi keberlangsungan hidup Perusahaan. Studi pendahuluan ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan manfaat implementasi Digital Factory dalam mengatasi beberapa tantangan tersebut. Penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya mengidentifikasikan bahwa penerapan digital factory pada Perusahaan skala besar berbasis teknologi telah mampu meningkatkan efisiensi proses pengembangan produk dan proses produksi, dari segi waktu dan biaya. Studi ini mencoba mengidentifikasi beberapa prasyarat utama implementasi digital factory dalam industri manufaktur skala menengah di Indonesia. Sebagai studi pendahuluan, penelitian dilakukan pada USAha pengolahan plastik skala menengah di Tangerang, yang telah menerapkan teknologi digital dalam proses produksinya. Terdapat tiga prasyarat mendasar yang dibutuhkan agar implementasi digital factory dapat berjalan: kelengkapan data dan informasi tentang urutan produksi, desain produk, desain bangunan dan data pekerja; ketersediaan perangkat keras dan perangkat lunak simulasi; serta tingkat ketrampilan dan pengalaman operator dalam penggunaan software simulasi. Hubungan antar variabel dalam penelitian ini dimodelkan dan diolah dengan SmartPLS. Penelitian awal ini menemukan bahwa kelengkapan data dan informasi, ketersediaan perangkat keras dan lunak simulasi, serta kemampuan dan pengalaman pekerja dalam bidang simulasi virtual, secara bersama-sama memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap implementasi digital factory dan keberlangsungan Perusahaan (pengembangan dan desain produk yang lebih baik (inovasi), perancangan dan simulasi proses produksi yang lebih efisien (efisiensi), dan kemampuan menyesuaikan diri terhadap Perubahan permintaan yang lebih baik (adaptasi)). . Medium-sized manufacturing industry in Indonesia is overwhelmed by certain challenges: high-cost economy, significant changes in information technology, and dynamic market and demand. All of these challenges affect gradually or directly to the sustainability of the industry. This preliminary study aims to conceptualize the importance of 'digital factory' implementation to dealing with sustainability issues. Previous studies showed that the implementation of digital factory, in the context of large-sized technological-based manufacturing enterprises, has been proved to increase the efficiency of product development process and production process, in term of time and cost. This study tries to identify several key issues to support the implementation of digital factory: data and information completeness, hardware and software availability, and operators' skill and experience in conducting simulation. The relationships of the variables are modelled and analyzed using SmartPLS. This preliminary study found that, concurrently, data and information completeness, hardware and software availability, and operators' skill and experience in conducting simulation have significant effect to digital factory implementation, as well as the enterprise's sustainability (better product design and improvement (innovativeness), more efficient in design and simulation of production process (efficiency), and better capability to deal with dynamic demand (adaptiveness)).

    Authors: Sintorini, Margareta Maria;

    Penyakit demam berdarah dengue (DBD) telah menjadi penyakit endemik di kota-kota besar di Indonesia. Ramalan Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change tahun 1996 menyebutkan insidens DBD di Indonesia dapat meningkat tiga kali lipat pada tahun 2070. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membuat model di- namika sistem dengan analisis ekologi untuk mengetahui dinamika kejadian DBD dalam kaitan dengan pola variablitas iklim di DKI Jakarta. Rancangan penelitian digunakan adalah ecologic study dengan uji hipotesis, permodelan, simulasi, dan intervensi. Wawancara terhadap 844 responden untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku (PSP) masyarakat. Pengukuran faktor iklim meliputi curah hujan, suhu, kelembaban, intensitas cahaya, dan kadar CO2. Aspek vektor yang diukur adalah angka hinggap per jam nyamuk Aedes (AHJ) dan nyamuk istirahat per rumah (NIR). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kasus DBD dipengaruhi curah hujan (p:0,000..), suhu lingkungan (p:0,000..), kelembaban ruang (p:0,003), kelembaban lingkungan (p:0,000..), AHJ Aedes (p:0,016), NIR Aedes (p:0,000..) dan pengetahuan masyarakat (p:0,008). Disimpulkan, faktor iklim yang paling berpengaruh terhadap kasus DBD adalah curah hujan, suhu dan kelembaban serta pengetahuan masyarakat yang rendah. Sedangkan AHJ Aedes dapat dijadikan indikator kenaikan kasus DBD. Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) has become endemic in many big cities in Indonesia. It was predicted by Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, that in 1996 the DHF in Indonesia in 2070 would be tripled. The objective of this research is to make a system dynamic model using ecological analysis to identify the dynamic of DHF cases related to the pattern of the climate variability in Jakarta. This research uses the design of ecological study with hypothesis testing, modeling, simulation, and intervention. Respondents of 844 households were interviewed to explore their knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) regarding DHF using a standard questionnaire. Precipitation, humidity, light intensity and CO2 concentration were determined per week. AHJ (Man Landing Rate) and NIR (resting habit) were determined for Aedes population density. The results indicate that the DHF cases all are influenced by precipitation (0.000), temperature ambient (0.000), indoor humidity (0.003), outdoor humidity (0.000), AHJ (0.016), NIR (0.000), and knowledge (0.008). The most influencial climate factor to the DHF cases are precipitation, temperature, humidity and the low level of the community knowledge.

    . Lahan rawa adalah lahan yang sepanjang tahun, atau selama waktu yang panjang dalam setahun, selalu jenuh air (saturated water), atau tergenang (waterlogged). Luas lahan rawa Indonesia ± 33,4 juta ha, yang terdiri atas lahan rawa pasang surut sekitar 20 juta ha dan lahan lebak 13,4 juta ha. Lahan pasang surut yang telah direklamasi 3,84 juta ha yang terdiri atas 0,94 juta ha oleh pemerintah dan sisanya oleh swadaya masyarakat lokal.Pada lahan rawa umumnya dijumpai tanah mineral dan tanah gambut. Teknologi pengelolaan lahan rawa antara lain adalah teknologi pengelolaan tanah dan air (tata air mikro, dan penataan lahan), teknologi ameliorasi tanah dan pemupukan, penggunaan varietas yang adaptif, teknologi pengendalian hama dan penyakit, pengembangan Alsintan, serta pemberdayaan kelembagaan petani. Kawasan Lahan Gambut satu juta ha eks PLG di kalimantan Tengah, mempunyai potensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai kawasan budidaya pertanian, dan kawasan konservasi. Kawasan budi daya pertanian dilaksanakan pada kawasan gambut < 3 m, yang dapat dikembangkan untuk lahan sawah, perkebunan, perikanan, dan hutan tanaman industri (HTI), berdasarkan kepada kriteria kesesuaian lahan. Kawasan konservasi berada pada wilayah gambut dengan ketebalan > 3 m dan juga daerah-daerah tertentu yang mempunyai keanekaragaman hayati (flora dan fauna), dan di bawah gambut lapisan sulfidik dan atau pasir kuarsa. Pembukaan lahan gambut harus dilakukan melalui perencanaan yang matang, dan hati-hati, dan perlu ditunjang dengan analisa dampak lingkungan yang handal serta pemahaman terhadap kondisi sosial budaya masyarakat lokal. . Swampy areas is a land which is prolong or periodically saturated with water or waterlogged each year. The tidal swamp areas in Indonesia occupied approximately 33.4 millions ha consisting of 20 millions ha brackish water tidal land and 13,4 millions ha fresh water tidal land. In swampy areas peat and mineral soils normally found. The reclaimed tidal swampy area amounted to 3.84 million ha consisting of 0.94 million ha reclaimed by government and the remainder by local communities. Technologies for managing swampy areas included soil and water management, soil ameliorant, fertilization, adaptive crop varieties, pest and diseases management control, and mechanic development and empowerment of farmer's organization. The former peatland soil project of one million ha in Central Kalimantan has potential areas to be developed as agricultural cultivation and conservation area. The area for agricultural practices should be directed to peatland with < 3 m depth and used for paddy field, estate crops, fishery, and agroforestry. Conservation areas were directed to peatland with thickness of more than 3 m, areas having biodiversity, and areas underlain by pyrite or quartz. Land clearing on peatland should follow thorough planning and supported by reliable analysis of environmental impact and social conditions of local community.

    Subak merupakan salah satu lembaga tradisional warisan sumberdaya budaya di Bali yang sangat perlu dilestarikan melalui pembinaan yang tepat dan berkelanjutan. Lembaga ini merupakan benteng masyarakat Bali dalam menghadapi berbagai gempuran budaya akibat derasnya arus globalisasi dan pariwisata yang melanda dunia dan Bali pada khususnya. Sebagai upaya untuk menjaga kelestarian dan keberlanjutan nilai-nilai THK tersebut, dilakukan penelitian di dua kawasan yang berbeda yakni kawasan wisata (Subak Juwuk Manis) dan kawasan agraris (Subak Temesi). Dua analisis dilakukan yaitu analisis Inverse Matrix untuk mengetahui tingkat keberlanjutan nilai-nilai THK serta analisis Fuzzy Set Theory dilakukan untuk menentukan ranking komponen setiap sel matrik. Tingkat keberlanjutan dinilai dari tingkat soliditas berdasarkan transferabilitasnya. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa arus wisatawan yang mendatangi kawasan wisata maupun kawasan agraris tidak memberikan dampak negatif terhadap keberlanjutan nilai-nilai THK dengan kategori baik dengan skor 85,52% (untuk Subak Juwuk Manis) dan 78,83% (untuk Subak Temesi). Terdapat variasi dominansi komponen matrik pada setiap sel matrik hubungan subsistem-subsistem dari THK. Dirasakan perlu memperhatikan dengan seksama hasil perankingan pada setiap komponen matrik nilai-nilai THK. Tingkat intensitas pembinaan dimulai dari sel matrik paling tidak dominan hingga ke sel matrik paling dominan. Subak is one of cultural traditional heritage in Bali which need maintained properly and suistainably. This institution is Balinese wall to protect the culture from outside world. In order to maintain THK suistainability, the research carried out at two different areas, tourism at Subak Juwuk Manis and agriculture at Subak Temesi. Invers Matrix Analysis is used to observe the level of THK suistainability, while Fuzzy Set Theory is used to rank each matrix cell component. The level of suistainability determined by the level of solidity based on its transferability. The study found that the tourism visit, in both tourism and agricultural areas, has no negative impact on the suistainability of THK values, with good categories, 85.52% for Subak Juwuk Manis and 78.83% for Subak Temesi. There is also a variation of dominant matrix component in each cell of THK sub-systems. It is suggested that the rank of each THK matrix component has to be paid attention. Moreover, the intensity of guiding should be started from the least dominant to the most dominant cell of matrix.

    Authors: James;

    Penyakit demam berdarah dengue (DBD) telah menjadi penyakit endemik di kota-kota besar di Indonesia. Ramalan Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change tahun 1996 menyebutkan insidens DBD di Indonesia dapat meningkat tiga kali lipat pada tahun 2070. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membuat model di- namika sistem dengan analisis ekologi untuk mengetahui dinamika kejadian DBD dalam kaitan dengan pola variablitas iklim di DKI Jakarta. Rancangan penelitian digunakan adalah ecologic study dengan uji hipotesis, permodelan, simulasi, dan intervensi. Wawancara terhadap 844 responden untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku (PSP) masyarakat. Pengukuran faktor iklim meliputi curah hujan, suhu, kelembaban, intensitas cahaya, dan kadar CO2. Aspek vektor yang diukur adalah angka hinggap per jam nyamuk Aedes (AHJ) dan nyamuk istirahat per rumah (NIR). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kasus DBD dipengaruhi curah hujan (p:0,000..), suhu lingkungan (p:0,000..), kelembaban ruang (p:0,003), kelembaban lingkungan (p:0,000..), AHJ Aedes (p:0,016), NIR Aedes (p:0,000..) dan pengetahuan masyarakat (p:0,008). Disimpulkan, faktor iklim yang paling berpengaruh terhadap kasus DBD adalah curah hujan, suhu dan kelembaban serta pengetahuan masyarakat yang rendah. Sedangkan AHJ Aedes dapat dijadikan indikator kenaikan kasus DBD. Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) has become endemic in many big cities in Indonesia. It was predicted by Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, that in 1996 the DHF in Indonesia in 2070 would be tripled. The objective of this research is to make a system dynamic model using ecological analysis to identify the dynamic of DHF cases related to the pattern of the climate variability in Jakarta. This research uses the design of ecological study with hypothesis testing, modeling, simulation, and intervention. Respondents of 844 households were interviewed to explore their knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) regarding DHF using a standard questionnaire. Precipitation, humidity, light intensity and CO2 concentration were determined per week. AHJ (Man Landing Rate) and NIR (resting habit) were determined for Aedes population density. The results indicate that the DHF cases all are influenced by precipitation (0.000), temperature ambient (0.000), indoor humidity (0.003), outdoor humidity (0.000), AHJ (0.016), NIR (0.000), and knowledge (0.008). The most influencial climate factor to the DHF cases are precipitation, temperature, humidity and the low level of the community knowledge.

    . Lahan rawa adalah lahan yang sepanjang tahun, atau selama waktu yang panjang dalam setahun, selalu jenuh air (saturated water), atau tergenang (waterlogged). Luas lahan rawa Indonesia ± 33,4 juta ha, yang terdiri atas lahan rawa pasang surut sekitar 20 juta ha dan lahan lebak 13,4 juta ha. Lahan pasang surut yang telah direklamasi 3,84 juta ha yang terdiri atas 0,94 juta ha oleh pemerintah dan sisanya oleh swadaya masyarakat lokal.Pada lahan rawa umumnya dijumpai tanah mineral dan tanah gambut. Teknologi pengelolaan lahan rawa antara lain adalah teknologi pengelolaan tanah dan air (tata air mikro, dan penataan lahan), teknologi ameliorasi tanah dan pemupukan, penggunaan varietas yang adaptif, teknologi pengendalian hama dan penyakit, pengembangan Alsintan, serta pemberdayaan kelembagaan petani. Kawasan Lahan Gambut satu juta ha eks PLG di kalimantan Tengah, mempunyai potensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai kawasan budidaya pertanian, dan kawasan konservasi. Kawasan budi daya pertanian dilaksanakan pada kawasan gambut < 3 m, yang dapat dikembangkan untuk lahan sawah, perkebunan, perikanan, dan hutan tanaman industri (HTI), berdasarkan kepada kriteria kesesuaian lahan. Kawasan konservasi berada pada wilayah gambut dengan ketebalan > 3 m dan juga daerah-daerah tertentu yang mempunyai keanekaragaman hayati (flora dan fauna), dan di bawah gambut lapisan sulfidik dan atau pasir kuarsa. Pembukaan lahan gambut harus dilakukan melalui perencanaan yang matang, dan hati-hati, dan perlu ditunjang dengan analisa dampak lingkungan yang handal serta pemahaman terhadap kondisi sosial budaya masyarakat lokal. . Swampy areas is a land which is prolong or periodically saturated with water or waterlogged each year. The tidal swamp areas in Indonesia occupied approximately 33.4 millions ha consisting of 20 millions ha brackish water tidal land and 13,4 millions ha fresh water tidal land. In swampy areas peat and mineral soils normally found. The reclaimed tidal swampy area amounted to 3.84 million ha consisting of 0.94 million ha reclaimed by government and the remainder by local communities. Technologies for managing swampy areas included soil and water management, soil ameliorant, fertilization, adaptive crop varieties, pest and diseases management control, and mechanic development and empowerment of farmer's organization. The former peatland soil project of one million ha in Central Kalimantan has potential areas to be developed as agricultural cultivation and conservation area. The area for agricultural practices should be directed to peatland with < 3 m depth and used for paddy field, estate crops, fishery, and agroforestry. Conservation areas were directed to peatland with thickness of more than 3 m, areas having biodiversity, and areas underlain by pyrite or quartz. Land clearing on peatland should follow thorough planning and supported by reliable analysis of environmental impact and social conditions of local community.

    Subak merupakan salah satu lembaga tradisional warisan sumberdaya budaya di Bali yang sangat perlu dilestarikan melalui pembinaan yang tepat dan berkelanjutan. Lembaga ini merupakan benteng masyarakat Bali dalam menghadapi berbagai gempuran budaya akibat derasnya arus globalisasi dan pariwisata yang melanda dunia dan Bali pada khususnya. Sebagai upaya untuk menjaga kelestarian dan keberlanjutan nilai-nilai THK tersebut, dilakukan penelitian di dua kawasan yang berbeda yakni kawasan wisata (Subak Juwuk Manis) dan kawasan agraris (Subak Temesi). Dua analisis dilakukan yaitu analisis Inverse Matrix untuk mengetahui tingkat keberlanjutan nilai-nilai THK serta analisis Fuzzy Set Theory dilakukan untuk menentukan ranking komponen setiap sel matrik. Tingkat keberlanjutan dinilai dari tingkat soliditas berdasarkan transferabilitasnya. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa arus wisatawan yang mendatangi kawasan wisata maupun kawasan agraris tidak memberikan dampak negatif terhadap keberlanjutan nilai-nilai THK dengan kategori baik dengan skor 85,52% (untuk Subak Juwuk Manis) dan 78,83% (untuk Subak Temesi). Terdapat variasi dominansi komponen matrik pada setiap sel matrik hubungan subsistem-subsistem dari THK. Dirasakan perlu memperhatikan dengan seksama hasil perankingan pada setiap komponen matrik nilai-nilai THK. Tingkat intensitas pembinaan dimulai dari sel matrik paling tidak dominan hingga ke sel matrik paling dominan. Subak is one of cultural traditional heritage in Bali which need maintained properly and suistainably. This institution is Balinese wall to protect the culture from outside world. In order to maintain THK suistainability, the research carried out at two different areas, tourism at Subak Juwuk Manis and agriculture at Subak Temesi. Invers Matrix Analysis is used to observe the level of THK suistainability, while Fuzzy Set Theory is used to rank each matrix cell component. The level of suistainability determined by the level of solidity based on its transferability. The study found that the tourism visit, in both tourism and agricultural areas, has no negative impact on the suistainability of THK values, with good categories, 85.52% for Subak Juwuk Manis and 78.83% for Subak Temesi. There is also a variation of dominant matrix component in each cell of THK sub-systems. It is suggested that the rank of each THK matrix component has to be paid attention. Moreover, the intensity of guiding should be started from the least dominant to the most dominant cell of matrix.
