El presente trabajo de fin de grado tiene como objetivo mostrar la metodología que una ingeniería sigue para el desarrollo de proyectos de instalaciones. El proyecto que se desarrolla en este trabajo es un edifico terciario, en concreto, un centro cívico ubicado en Barcelona. El proyecto se orienta hacia un edificio de consumo prácticamente nulo mostrando un equipamiento que minimiza el consumo energético anual, el coste de mantenimiento y minimizando la cantidad de instalaciones que necesita el edificio. Para determinar las instalaciones de este, se ha tenido que tener presente el tipo de edificio, tipo de instalación a desarrollar, el emplazamiento, el término municipal y las unidades de uso conjuntamente con las normativas aplicables para cada una de ellas. Hay un trabajo previo de despacho, en este caso de una ingeniería, antes de la ejecución de las instalaciones. Los métodos utilizados para el desarrollo de estas son: -El programa informático CYPECAD MEP con el fin de calcular las instalaciones. -El programa informático AUTOCAD con el fin de grafiar las instalaciones. El análisis del proyecto muestra la parte escrita y la parte gráfica del trazado de las instalaciones aplicando la normativa en cada una de ellas, aparte del CTE. Por último, se presentan una serie de conclusiones para cerrar el proyecto, en las que se exponen opiniones sobre el trabajo y opiniones personales acerca del desarrollo del proyecto.

Este trabajo se enmarca en el contexto de un proyecto de mayor alcance que tiene como objetivo conocer en detalle el funcionamiento energético de la fachada ventilada, para poder guiar en su diseño y ejecución. En concreto, el trabajo busca demostrar que la normativa energética obvia parámetros que sí tienen influencia en el funcionamiento energético. Para ello, era necesario entender la influencia de cada uno de sus parámetros definitorios, para posteriormente desarrollar una herramienta que los tuviera en cuenta y sirviera para calcular el flujo energético a través del cerramiento. En una fase previa se han analizado diversos artículos sobre la fachada ventilada así como también los principios físicos que están implicados en ello. Esta información ha servido de base para el desarrollo de la herramienta de cálculo que se puede usar para dar valores a la afectación de cada uno de los parámetros considerados. En versiones posteriores de la herramienta se podrán implementar más posibilidades de variación de parámetros. En la última parte del estudio se muestra algún ejemplo sencillo de aplicación de la herramienta. Se ha comparado la influencia de algunos parámetros en dos situaciones climáticas opuestas en Barcelona: fachada soleada en verano y noche despejada de invierno. Estos ejemplos han permitido demostrar que además de los parámetros que considera la normativa energética, hay otros que pueden tener influencia; y que una fachada ventilada sólo funcionará mejor que una fachada no ventilada o sin cámara si se han tenido en cuenta. El presente documento recoge el diseño, estudio y proceso de construcción de un modelo a escala de un concepto totalmente original que pretende aportar un primer paso hacia una nueva vía de desarrollo tecnológico a caballo entre los ámbitos de la náutica y las energías renovables: una embarcación de propulsión eólico-eléctrica. El diseño para éste prototipo incorpora el del buque y el de una turbina de eje vertical. Ambos diseños son optimizados mediante un análisis exhaustivo a través de software específicos. Se realiza un estudio profundo acerca de las máquinas eléctricas para conocer su comportamiento cuando funcionan como generador, y se incluye la caracterización del generador y el propulsor escogidos. Por último, se definen los sistemas de control energético y de gobierno que debe incorporar el prototipo, pese a que la materialización de este punto queda fuera del alcance.

Energy storage has become a serious challenge since last few decades. The natural; resources are becoming exhausted and more energy is required to meet the increasing demands of technology, population and systems. Different methods of energy conservation have been adopted including the storage in forms of electrical, mechanical, thermal and chemical energy. Methods and techniques have been established to ensure the energy storage in these different forms. Some pronounced methods are the flywheel energy storage, hydroelectricity, etc. Emphasis is being developed on utilization of resources when they are not in excessive demand. Energy storage in off-peak demand is encouraged to make it utilized in peak demand periods. In the struggle to develop mechanisms to store energy for later use, one most developing area is the energy storage using the air. This method is known as compressed air energy storage (CAES). CAES systems depend on the availability of air to produce the energy and store it for use in high demand periods. The air is compressed and this compressed air is used later on through expansion for production of electricity by turning the turbines. Different ways and types of CAES systems have been studied. Adiabatic, diabatic and iso-thermal are the basic three types of compressed air energy storage systems. There are many variants developed from these basic three types as advanced adiabatic CAES. Although different methods have been studied and testing on small scale for implementation of CAES technology, but currently only the diabatic CAES has been used practically for large scale production of electricity by storing energy. Two known plants exist, one in US and other in Germany. Also the types of CAES systems depend on the structure of the underlying storage chamber. There are different geologies for the development of this chamber like salt, hard rock and porous rock. Presence of accurate geologies also drives the success of the CAES system. Research and studies are underway to make the large scale deployment of CAES based energy storage systems. It is expected that such systems will enhance the available energy and will reduce the pressure on the current supply of natural resources of energy by storing them appropriately on excess available times.

[CASTELLÀ] En los últimos años han tomado especial relevancia en el ámbito de las I+D+I, las redes inalámbricas de sensores WSN (Wireless Sensor Networks), donde pequeños dispositivos compactos y económicos llamados nodos-sensores, tienen la capacidad de sensar, detectar y suministrar datos a otros sistemas. Las WSN se están aplicando en muchos ambientes y con distintos propósitos. Estas redes están compuestas por nodos-sensores de bajo costo y bajo consumo que cooperan entre sí, los cuales se comunican inalámbricamente y están especialmente diseñadas para redes con pérdidas y recursos limitados de memoria. En este proyecto se propone implementar y simular una red inalámbrica de sensores multisalto en el edificio B4 del PMT (Parque Mediterráneo de la Tecnología) de Castelldefels, en el cual reside el centro de investigación CTTC (Centro Tecnológico de Telecomunicaciones de Catalunya). Para poder llevar a cabo el escenario, se ha desarrollado una aplicación que permite a los nodos comunicarse entre ellos, la cual medirá las condiciones climáticas de cada estancia, el estado de la batería del propio sensor y el consumo eléctrico en tiempo real de los splits del aire acondicionado del edificio. Dado el corto alcance de estas redes y procurando cubrir todo el área de la construcción, se han estudiado e implementado protocolos de comunicaciones multisalto. Esta red estará constituida de varios nodos “senders” los cuales se encargarán de realizar las medidas y transmitir la información recolectada a un nodo central llamado “sink” para su procesamiento. Los senders también actúan como relays de tal modo que se forma una red mesh. El sink estará conectado a un PC al cual le enviará por serial todos los datos recolectados. Con este TFC, se propone evaluar los diferentes tipos de sensores y sistemas operativos que existen en la actualidad dando especial importancia a las motas Z1 de Zolertia, con el sistema operativo Contiki que aún no se ha desarrollado) para dichas motas, con su simulador Cooja, y a su vez los algoritmos y protocolos de comunicación eficientes que este sistema operativo implementa, que permitan a los nodos recolectar, procesar y trasmitir los datos sobre la red. Los parámetros principales que se desean caracterizar del escenario son las pérdidas ocasionadas en la transmisión y posteriormente la latencia experimentada por los paquetes dentro de la red. Given the short range of these networks, and with the aim of covering the whole building, multihop communications protocols will be studied.

Esta función es realizada mediante una turbina tipo Savonius, que sirve a la zona para bombear agua o bien para la generación de electricidad. El desarrollo de la turbina sigue la línea de la reutilización de componentes con los que se monta. Su construcción es mecánicamente sencilla para que pueda ser realizada directamente por los habitantes de la zona sin requerimiento de ayuda externa. A partir de la bibliografía disponible, se realiza un repaso de la situación de zonas de necesidad, de los recursos eólicos disponibles y de las técnicas que se han utilizado históricamente. Para finalizar se estudia el impacto medio ambiental y social que tiene la implantación de un sistema de estas características y se plasman las estimaciones y observaciones económicas pertinentes. Una vez consumado el cuerpo del estudio, se analizan las conclusiones a las que se ha llegado y futuros proyectos que complementarían al elaborado durante estos meses.

En los últimos años las redes de telecomunicaciones se han desarrollado hasta un punto nunca visto anteriormente. Esto conlleva nuevas necesidades en ámbitos que hasta el momento no habían sido considerados como el ahorro de energía y la tolerancia a delays especialmente elevados o variables. Originalmente este trabajo pretendía incluir un estudio mediante simulaciones tanto de los protocolos destinados a mejorar el ahorro de energía como los destinados a solucionar los problemas relativos a las redes susceptibles de tener delays elevados. Los protocolos propuestos para estos dos casos son el IEEE 802.3az, más conocido como Energy Efficient Ethernet para el ahorro de energía y la arquitectura de protocolos Delay/Disruption Tolerant Network (DTN) para las redes que presentan delays elevados. Sin embargo la carencia de simuladores para DTN que cumplieran con las necesidades del trabajo nos ha obligado a centrarnos únicamente en el estudio del estándar IEEE 802.3az. Se ha partido de un trabajo anterior, en el que se analizó el estándar y se realizaron simulaciones preliminares en ns-2. En este trabajo se ha profundizado en el análisis de ciertas características del simulador, se ha estudiado el impacto de EEE sobre los protocolos de capas superiores (principalmente TCP y UDP) en diversos escenarios y se ha evaluado tanto el ahorro obtenido como el delay, jitter y disminución de la velocidad efectiva que provoca. Como conclusiones generales extraídas del trabajo podemos afirmar que EEE cumple con su propósito ya que los efectos negativos son poco significativos e imperceptibles para el usuario para casi todos los escenarios y parámetros simulados, mientras que el ahorro de energía si es importante. English: In recent years telecommunications networks have been developed to a degree never seen before. This implies need of research in areas that until now had not been considered as energy saving and tolerance to particularly high or variable delays. Originally, this thesis intended to be a simulation-based study of protocols proposed to solve both problems: to improve energy efficiency and for solving problems related to networks susceptible to high delays. The proposed protocols for these two cases are IEEE 802.3az, better known as Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) for saving energy, and Delay / Disruption Tolerant Network (DTN) protocol architecture for networks that have high delays. However the lack of appropriate simulators for DTN has forced us to focus only on the study of IEEE 802.3az. We started from a previous study, which analyzed the EEE standard and performed preliminary simulations with ns-2. This work has gone farther in the analysis of certain features of the simulator. We have studied the impact of EEE on the higher layer protocols (mainly TCP and UDP) in various scenarios and evaluated both, the savings obtained and the delay, jitter and the decrease in the effective speed. The general conclusions drawn from the thesis are that EEE fulfills its purpose and that the negative effects are insignificant and imperceptible to the user for almost all simulated scenarios and parameters, but the power saving is still important.
