Generally energy needs are dominated by fossil fuels such as petroleum, natural gas and coal. It is time for Indonesia to reduce dependence on fossil fuels by developing alternative fuels that are renewable and environmentally friendly (renewable). There are three types of alternative energy that can be researched and developed in the world today such as biodiesel, bioethanol and biogas. One potential alternative to be developed was the use of bioethanol. Bioethanol is an alternative fuel that is processed from plants (biomass) by fermentation. In this study, the raw material used to make bioethanol is jackfruit seeds. During this time only used as a jackfruit seeds that only a small proportion of waste utilized as livestock feed and even largely discarded. In fact, if further processed jackfruit seeds can provide added value. This research aims to make bioethanol with various concentrations of yeast and fermentation time. The main process is hydrolysis fermentation using yeast Saccharomyces Cereviciae; and purification by distillation. The variables used were changes in the concentration of yeast 3, 6, 9%; and fermentation time 2, 3, 4 days. From the analysis of the research results obtained bioethanol yield per amount of raw materials best start was 10.9 ml/kg with a density of 0.959 g/ml and the calorific value sebasar 196.899 kkal/kg, ie at 9% concentration variation yeast and fermentation time 3 days. 130425007

The study conducted in the coal mining company at Kutai regency. The method used was descriptive through case studies. The technique is done by purposive sampling based on the number of beef cattle reared in the post-mining land. Analysis of beef cattle cultivation used basis multidimensional scaling (MDS) based on the dimensions of the ecological, economic, social and cultural. Each attribute has a score. Furthermore, the score of each attribute dimensional analyzed to determine one or several points that reflect the position of the sustainability of the beef cattle farm systems. Through this MDS sustainability point position can be visualized. Sustainability index has a scale interval of 0 to 100. If the index value of more than 50 categorized sustainable and is less than 50 was not sustainable. The results of ecological dimensions index was 55.56, economic dimension index was 66.67, and sustainable index for social dimension was 72.73. If sustainability index value on the range of 50.00 – 75.00 was on the category of fair sustainable. In order to utilization of coal post mining land can be cultivated by beef cattle.

Urban Household Energy Consumption Analysis in Indonesia: Period of 2008 and 2011The goal of the study is to analyze the pattern and the change of urban household energy consumption and their determinant factors in Indonesia period of 2008 and 2011 using SUSENAS data of household budget survey. The concept of energy ladder and fuel stacking (multi fuel) are used to make a model of household energy consumption. The result of study shows that total energy consumption was increase in the period of 2008 and 2011. Coefficient of income elasticity toward both of modern and traditional energy consumption are positive, it means that there is rising consumption of energy along with the rising income. Household income is the main determinant factor of energy used by household besides other non-economic factors.
