    Technology development for civil engineering and the application of new and improved materials become ever more present in realization of any kind of construction, starting from buildings for housing, business, as well as for the multifunctional and specialized ones. Sustainable architecture presumes environmental considerations, then the use of passive solar systems protection from the adverse conditions of climate, noise, micro location. This paper presents some of the sustainable architecture principles by example of the project for a corner building between the streets Kralja Milana and Kralja Milutina in Belgrade.

    In this paper possibility of corrosion protection of copper was investigated in acidic media using inhibitors. Inhibitor properties of 5-(4'-isopropylbenzylidene)-2,4-dioxotetrahydro-1,3-thiazole, (IPBDT) was tested on copper corrosion in acidic sulfate contains solution (0.1 moldm-3 Na2SO4, pH=2). Using potentiostatic polarization measurements, inhibitor efficiency of IPBDT in a function of concentration was determined. It was found that in investigation range, increasing of inhibitor concentration results better efficiency of IPBDT. The obtained results also show that IPBDT derivative acts as the mixed inhibitor on copper corrosion in acidic media. During corrosion process, inhibitor molecules are adsorbed on the metal surface following mechanism of Langmuir isotherm.

    Authors: Batas Bjelić, Ilija; Doljak, Dejan;

    Previous energy strategies for Serbia had various goals in terms of renewable energy sources with the quantification of type of power plants by type, but the national energy planning did not go to the level of determining specific locations for power plants, namely photovoltaic. This caused difficulties for the responsible ministry and public companies to decide which power plants will be connected and which not. Additionally, due to a drop in investment costs, connection requests dramatically increased. In the beginning of 2023 applications for the construction of power plants totaling 14 GW in capacity were under review at public transmission company which further caused delays and stagnation in the construction of these power plants. At the same time, electricity prices for households and industries had increased by 18 and 27% respectively. During the year 2022, only 6 MW of new power plants were realized even with granting the monthly net-metering to the industry and households, which is far below the possible and realistic dynamic of Serbia's energy transition implementation. It was announced in early 2023, with the changes in legislative towards implementing the auctions principles, that the first permits will be issued for the construction of large photovoltaic power plants on land to progress towards meeting an overall capacity goal of 2-3 GW. To guide in selecting sites that will help meet this goal, we mapped 100 suitable photovoltaic power plant locations prioritized not only by energy yield, but also to prevent possible conflicts with other activities (i.e., agriculture, protected areas and cultural heritage). The mapping was carried out using available energy yield data, and geographically specific data of importance for the construction of larger photovoltaic power plants up to 10 MW in size. The 100 locations were selected as best among a much larger number of possible ones. These 100 sites occupy less than 25 km2 of land and would be enough to cover about 5% of household consumption in Serbia. Dosadašnje energetske strategije Srbije su imale različite ciljeve u pogledu obnovljivih izvora energije sa kvantifikacijom pojedinih tipova elektrana, ali nacionalno energetsko planiranje nije išlo do nivoa određivanja konkretnih lokacija, posebno za fotonaponske elektrane. Ovo je izazvalo poteškoće nadležnom ministarstvu i javnim preduzećima jer je pad investicionih troškova ohrabrio veliki broj aplikanata za dozvole za izgradnju elektrana na pogodnim lokacijama od ukupno 14 GW, što je dodatno izazvalo zastoje i stagnaciju u izgradnji ovih elektroenergetskih objekata na zemlji. U isto vreme došlo je do poskupljenja troškova snabdevanja električnom energijom za domaćinstva 18% i 27% za privredu tokom 2022. a iste godine kroz mehanizam neto-merenja realizovano je samo oko 6 MW novih elektrana što je kao rezultat daleko ispod mogućeg, realnog nivoa i neophodne brzine sprovođenja energetske tranzicije Srbije. Početkom 2023. godine, uz izmene zakona u pravcu sprovođenja aukcija, najavljeno je da će biti izdate prve dozvole za izgradnju velikih fotonaponskih elektrana na zemljištu i ulaganja u projekte veličine nekoliko (2-3) GW. Stoga je potrebno izvršiti mapiranje i odabiranje 100 lokacija fotonaponskih elektrana kako bi se bolje razumele pogodne lokacije ne samo sa stanovišta prinosa energije, već i kako bi se predupredili eventualni konflikti sa drugim aktivnostima (poljoprivreda, zaštićena područja, kulturno nasleđe). Mapiranje je sprovedeno korišćenjem raspoloživih podataka o energetskim prinosu, kao i geografski specifičnih podataka od značaja za izgradnju većih fotonaponskih elektrana do 10 MW. Odabrano je 100 najboljih lokacija među mnogo većim brojem mogućih. Količina proizvedene energije na površini koja zauzima manje od 25 km2 bila bi dovoljna da pokrije oko 5% potrošnje domaćinstava u Srbiji.

    Authors: Đukić, Petar;

    The economy activity in Serbia is burdened by lots of unfavourable circumstances, including the natural catastrophe so far unseen on this area in May 2014. The unemployment is long-term problem not being resolved with the 'employment policies' but with promotion of investments and achieving the economic growth and development. However, all sectors cannot become the pillars of increase of number and creation of new workplaces. The creators of local economic projections and programmes most frequently use the word 'restructuring'. But in practice, the 'restructuring' demands much more complex and more serious approach so far, above all to public sector of economy. The Serbian energy sector, and above all its public sector, is in front of great challenges deriving from urgent needs of current rehabilitation of flood after effects, from new strategic demands, as well as from European standard. The energy sector is by tradition important determinant of growth and stability of the entire economy. In Serbia, that is especially important considering the state of the capacities and legacy from the past. Modernisation of energy sector implies the application of many new dimensions of sustainability which need to be achieved. Unused renewable sources represent the opportunity for the increase of green investments, sustainable employment, and 'green jobs' in this sector. 'Green economy' and sustainable energy sector represent great opportunity for the future of Serbia. Stabilization and ecologisation of the capacities for the production of thermoelectric energy, increase of the share of renewable sources, and above all the measures of energy efficiency will represent crucial steps and measures towards sustainable energy sector in Serbia. Perhaps they represent true challenge for new construction works, new infrastructure, rehabilitation of schools and hospitals, modernisation of agriculture and tourism, as well as new public and private sector manufacturing capacities.

    Authors: Salma, Jožef;

    The main focus of this paper lies with the national laws of three European countries (Germany, Austria and Hungary), as well as the EU law, relating to liability for damage caused by nuclear plant. The aforesaid European countries have enacted legislation prescribing stringent rules on liability of the operators of nuclear plants, meaning that for some forms of legally recognized harm (death, injury, damage to health) the operator incurs liability, even if damage was caused by force major. This type of strict liability, whereby force major is not reason for exculpation, provided that the damage could be related to functioning of the plant, is named absolute liability. In addition, some regimes introduce presumption of causality, when it is more likely than not that damage resulted from the effects of nuclear plants (or ionizing radiation, or secondary nuclear waste materials). The author also analyzes national and European rules on prevention of nuclear and other environmental damage, which includes the creation of the registry of nuclear plants with relevant data on domestic and European operators, the mechanisms of control of the operators, the requirement of preliminary ecological analysis in the construction of new plants, etc. In addition, the author observes differences between nuclear damage in broad and in narrow sense. The former is, in principle, redressed generally, to the extent possible. The latter is commonly redressed individually, to the extent prescribed by statutes.

    Authors: Živković, Milovan; Urošević, Mirko; Pajić, Miloš; Koprivica, Ranko;

    Modern technologies of the fruit and wine production include implementation of the intensive plantation pruning where the accumulated considerable amounts of plant biomass residue have significant environmental and energy value. Thermal energy and the use of pruning residues as biomass are important from the point of view of environmental protection and the closed-cycle of CO2 emission and consumption. Remains of the pruning in the orchards represent a problem during the implementation of agricultural practices, so necessity for their disposal from these surfaces exists. Fossil fuel limited reserves and the environmental pollution impose the necessity of finding alternative and renewable energy resources with the environmental pollution reduction. Very important problem is to correctly define the optimal technical solutions and technologies for utilization of machine pruning of fruit trees and vines, which will increase the energy efficiency of the production. Outdated technologies, extensive production and inefficient consumption of energy in our country environment, haven't been helping in the suitable application of the collecting, preparing and using of the remains of the pruning. The prerequisite for the study of the economic and technical feasibility for the using of pruning residues (biomaterials) are the information about the quantity, the energy potential, the workmanship, the transportability, the price, the storage convenience, the preservation and the combustion. The essential starting point for this research is the annually definition of the energy potential of the pruning residues. .

    One of the key reasons why the transition to renewable energy sources is at a standstill is the unusually complex phenomena of converting electrical energy into chemical energy, and vice versa, chemical energy into electrical energy. An important example is the electrolysis of water, where, after decades of research, it is not clear how to significantly accelerate the processes of hydrogen and oxygen generation. Of critical importance for the control of the water electrolysis mechanism is the understanding of the origins of the electrocatalytic activity. If we ask a key question from a conceptual point of view, namely: what are the origins of electrocatalytic activity? – the answer will be, in most cases, as it was 70 years ago. Namely, the paradigm of electrocatalysis is the Sabatier principle, which suggests optimal ("not too strong, not too weak") binding of intermediates as the main prerequisite for a high reaction rate. Conventional wisdom suggests that confirmation of this should be a linear relationship between the adsorption energy of the intermediate and the activation energy, known as the Brønsted-Evans-Polanyi relation. However, recent results show that lowering the activation energy is not necessarily beneficial for increasing the reaction rate. In this lecture, some fundamentally important fundamental questions about the nature of electrocatalytic activity will be raised. Identifying and analyzing these issues can be an important driver towards efficient water electrolysis and a more comprehensive understanding of electrocatalysis as a scientific field of key importance for the conversion, storage and utilization of energy from renewable sources. Један од кључних разлога зашто је прелаз на обновљиве изворе енергије у застоју јесу необично сложени феномени конверзије електричне у хемиј- ску енергију и обрнуто, хемијске у електричну енергију. Важан пример је електро- лиза воде, где после деценија истраживања није јасно како значајно убрзати процесе генерисања водоника и кисеоника. Од критичне важности за контролу механизма електролизе воде јесте разумевање порекла електрокаталитичке активности. Ако се постави кључно питање са концептуалне тачке гледишта, а то је: шта је порекло електрокаталитичке активности, одговор ће бити, у већини случајева, као пре 70 година. Наиме, парадигма електрокатализе је Сабатијеов принцип, који сугерише оптимално („не сувише јако, не сувише слабо“) везивање интермедијара као главни предуслов високе брзине реакције. Конвенционална мудрост сугерише да би потврда овога требало да буде линеарна релација између енергије адсорпције интермедијера и енергије активације, позната као Brönsted-Evans-Polanyi релација. Међутим, не- давни резултати показују да смањење енергије активације није нужно корисно за по- већање брзине реакције. У овом предавању биће покренута нека темељно важна фун- даментална питања о природи електрокаталитичке активности. Идентификовање и анализа ових питања може бити важан покретач ка ефикасној електролизи воде и свеобухватнијем разумевању електрокатализе као научне области од кључног значаја за конверзију, складиштење и исокришћење енергије из обновљивих изворa. In the context of climate change afforestation is often seen as one of the most important mitigation measures. Forestry as a branch aims to improve the state of existing forests and also to increase the total forest fund. The question is what can all be done in order to reach the second objective, i.e. to increase existing forest area? By the Spatial plan of Republic Serbia forest area should be increased from the current 29% up to some 900 km2 by the year 2020. For Vojvodina, where only 7% of area is under forest, priority task is to find possibilities to afforest agricultural, degraded and other categories of land so that targeted increase of 14% can be reached. While afforestation has legal and strategic support there is a growing need to consider other relevant aspects and innovative solutions within them. This paper focuses on the social science aspects and examines one possible option on how to establish and maintain relationship with the owners/users of land suitable for afforestation. This option refers to the concept of customer relationship management (CRM). The aim of the paper is to describe and understand the CRM-concept and its application in forestry. Criterion analysis has been applied in order to determine CRM-possibilities when identifying, contacting and communicating with owners/users of land sutable for afforestation as with potential customers.

    Knjiga „Energo-eko menadžment u industriji nameštaja“ sadrži pet poglavlja. U uvodnom poglavlju detaljno su prikazani trendovi proizvodnje nameštaja kod nas i u svetu, a sistematizovani su i materijali od drveta i na bazi drveta, koji se koriste u ovoj industriji. Drugi deo, daje detaljan prikaz tehnologije proizvodnje nameštaja od masivnog drveta i pločastih materijala, kao osnov za definisanje mera za uštedu energije i upravljanje otpadom. U trećoj glavi, prikazane su i detaljno obrazložene mere za uštedu električne energije: opšte mere (koje se odnose na ceo sistem snabdevanja električnom energijom), mere koje se odnose na procesne elektromotore, mere za poboljšanje i kontrolu rasvete, mere koje se odnose na sistem komprimovanog vazduha i mere za poboljšanje efikasnosti sistema za prikupljanje i pneumatski transport usitnjenog drveta. U nastavku teksta detaljno su prikazane vrste otpada (čvrstog, tečnog i gasovitog) koje nastaju sprovođenjem različitih operacija u industriji nameštaja, kao i njihov uticaj na životnu sredinu. Definisane su mogućnosti i načini upravljanja otpadom i primeri najbolje prakse u vezi implementiranih tehnika upravljanja otpadom i smanjenja zagađenja životne sredine. Poslednja glava originalno prikazuje sistem energo-eko menadžmenta u jednom industrijskom preduzeću industrije nameštaja. The book "Energy and Environmental Management in the Furniture Industry" contains five chapters. The introductory chapter describes in detail the trends in furniture production in Serbia and abroad. Wood and wood-based materials that are used in this industry are also presented. In the second part, a detailed overview of the technology of production of furniture made of solid wood and board materials was given as a basis for defining the measures for energy savings and waste management. In the third chapter, energy saving measures are presented in detail. These include general measures (related to the whole system of electricity supply), measures related to the electric motors, measures for improving ...

    Authors: Batas Bjelić, Ilija; Doljak, Dejan;

    Authors: Đukić, Petar;

    Authors: Salma, Jožef;
