The main objective of the project is to co-design, together with actors of the food chain, low-waste value chains by supporting the demonstration of a portfolio of innovations in the fruits & vegetables, bakery products and fish value chains, as well as in a-home and out-of-home consumption. Proposed solutions are already tested as prototype in lab or in relevant environment but are waiting to be validated and demonstrated to TRL 7/8. The impact of the innovations will be evaluated by providing evidence of (i) their efficacy in reducing food loss and waste in different food value chains, (ii) improving the socio-economic performance of these value chains, and (iii) reducing the environmental impact of the value chains concerned. LOWINFOOD comprises seven interrelated work packages, among which four deal with the demonstration and market replication of the innovations addressed by the project (WP2-5), one to be started before the demonstration of innovations, and seeking to implement a multi-actor approach to support the evaluation of the innovations and including the identification of the methodology, the definition of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and the actual evaluation (WP1), one to communication, dissemination and market replication (WP6) and one for project coordination management (WP7). The LOWINFOOD consortium includes universities, research institutes, start-ups, foundations, associations and companies working in the food sector with expertise in all relevant scientific and technical areas covered by the project: innovation, demonstration, knowledge transfer, dissemination, policy advice and marketing strategy.

Yet, competing societal interests, such as expanding cities, infrastructure development, agriculture and nature conservation, have had negative effect on the available area for exploration and mining of mineral resources. Consequently, the supply of mineral raw materials within the EU is at risk. Therefore, the integration of mineral resources policies into land-use planning at different scales and levels is a key factor for achieving the goals of the RMI. The MINLAND project is designed for addressing this challenge: to facilitate minerals and land-use policy making and to strengthen a transparent land use practice. MINLAND is composed around the acknowledgement that the call requires a broad and competent consortium with strong links to related projects and activities, a comprehensive and structured data repository, an efficient work flow and strong and broad stakeholder involvement. MINLAND will address the challenge by: collecting and structuring information from member states and EU activities (stocktaking), performing in-depth analyses and case studies on relevant issues and aspects, and compiling comprehensive and practically applicable guidance documents. Along the work flow, stakeholders will be involved through workshops and participation in case studies and through other dissemination activities.

Z OOFunder: European Commission Project Code: 101069934Overall Budget: 2,299,940 EURFunder Contribution: 2,299,940 EURThe ambition of the TRANSFORMER project is to design long-term systemic transformation frameworks for regions across Europe in order to accelerate the shift towards climate neutrality. At the onset of the project, a conceptual framework will be developed by mapping, defining, and categorising Transition Super-Labs (TSLs). Actual TSLs will be piloted in four regions: the Ruhr area, DE, Emilia Romagna, IT, Lower Silesia, PL and Western Macedonia, GR. The project will develop a roadmap blueprint, a toolkit (incl. matchmaking mechanisms) and a knowledge hub, on the one hand to support the pilot regions but also to be applied by other regions across Europe. Moreover, an evaluation framework will be developed in order to evaluate the impact of TSLs in the TRANSFORMER pilot regions, as well as the respective tools and structures applied by the pilot regions. Project activities will be accompanied by comprehensive communicate and disseminate activities, providing (intermediate) results of the project and the activities in the pilot TSLs, providing a Hub with information, and offering training and capacity building activities for various target groups and stakeholders. Finally, an Exploitation Plan will be prepared for a long-lasting impact of the project.
