The application for the mobility project between Programme and Partner Countries has been successfully approved by the NA for two partner countries i.e. China and Uzbekistan. The mobility project was conducted between 1st June 2017 and 31st July 2019 in order to implement the general and specific objectives of the Erasmus + Program and the requirements of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education. The project was approved for 14 mobilities. Six mobilities were granted for the exchange with Shandong Jiaotong University (SDJTU) and University of Jinan (UJN) and eight mobilities within the project with Tashkent State University of Economics (TSUE). Within the given project period we carried out 16 mobilities (nine teaching mobilities and seven training mobilities), including two zero-grant incoming teaching mobilities with the partner country China. Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences (HSBHV) and Tashkent State University of Economics (TSUE) started their bilateral cooperation in February 2013. As a result of the sustainable cooperation between the institutions they carried out their first Erasmus+ project titled “GER-UZB Staff Mobility Towards Enhancement of Teaching Competence and Professional Development” from June 2015 to July 2017. During the meetings between project coordinators and vice-rectors for internationalisation of both universities a new mobility project called “Academic and Administrative Staff Mobility for Strengthening the Institutional Development and Deepening the Internationalization between HSBHV and TSUE” was elaborated and approved by the NA in 2017. The general objectives of the mobility project were 1) to promote the exchange of professors and researchers in the subject area of business and administration, as well as the exchange of administrative staff and preparing them for the global labour market by improving the quality of teaching activities of the university teachers, improving the management skills of administrative staff, increasing the understanding and responsiveness of the staff to social, linguistic and cultural diversity, increasing opportunities for professional and career development, improving the foreign language competences and increasing motivation and satisfaction in their daily work; 2) to gain recognition in the international education market, establishing strategic partnerships and internationalizing teaching and research; 3) to promote innovative international projects in a framework of multilateral and cross-border cooperation. In turn, the Chinese partners Shandong Jiaotong University (SDJTU) and University of Jinan (UJN) are two important strategic partners for HSBHV, especially regarding student exchange programs and recruiting degree-seeking international students for our master degree. Both HSBHV and SDJTU are application-oriented universities specialized in engineering and natural science. The two universities established cooperative relations in 2008. UJN and HSBHV have been developing good partnership since 2014. HSBHV is one of the most important partners of UJN in Europe. The Erasmus+ mobility project approved in 2017 concentrated on staff exchange in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Automation and Electronics, Information and Computer Science and Economics and Management. The general objectives of the mobility project were 1) to create an opportunity for the staff to obtain teaching and training experience abroad, exchange experience in the field of work and ongoing research projects with their counterparts and get to know the teaching environment at the partner universities; 2) get to know the culture of the partner country, which will help when advising students from the home university who are interested in doing an exchange semester abroad. Both mobility projects focused on staff exchange and gave teaching and administrating staff the opportunity to teach at the partner university or take part in training activities (job shadowing and Staff Week). The undertaken activities strengthened the cooperation between the HSBHV and its partners and led to new ideas of future projects. The participating staff improved their professional development with a view on innovating and improving the quality of teaching and training. The stays abroad contributed to an improvement of the language skills of the staff members and their intercultural awareness. This will have a positive influence on their future encounters with the international guests as well as exchange students. The project also helped raising staff’s awareness and understanding of foreign cultures and countries as well as gave the opportunity to build networks of international contacts. The project helped increasing the capacities, attractiveness and international dimension of HSBHV and its project partners. During the exchange, staff members could also discuss future projects with the representatives of the respective faculties and departments of the receiving institution.
