„Cross-Border 16“ was a multilateral activity with the aim to arrange the meeting of youth and to cross borders. „To find out who we are we have to move“ (adapted from Heiner Müller). We must move and cross borders. The intention of „Cross-Border 16“ was to open and to break down borders, literally as well as symbolically. It means to go beyond the borders of one´s own self-assessment, to have confidence in oneself, to have the courage to act on a stage, to have the courage to take up new social contact.Young people from Germany, Slovenia, Hungary, Italy, Poland and Serbia met for performing theatre and explore crossing borders. On stage they expressed their desires, dreams and fears, youthful curiosity, new encounters and common experiences.“Cross-Border 16“ was a project for integration and social inclusion. The majority of the youth had experience in migration, some were mentally and physically handicapped. They all together elaborated a theatre performance based on their own ideas, interests, abilities and skills. With the stylistic means of dance theatre (choreographic work, movement theatre, Bewegungstheater) the young people worked with their own ideas, experience, stylistic an artistic means and produced a unique performance. Inputs from drama teachers and non-formal education supported working with the themes and Topics and helped to achieve a democratic cooperation and sharing. To discover Europe and leave remarkable footsteps and impressions! After the first night performance in Ingolstadt the young people went on tour through Europe, with Murska Sobota (SL) as their destination, the home region of the partners. In Murska Sobota they showed their production to he public, a really unique production. The youth meeting went over 21 days. Key aspects – apart from the theatre performance with and from all the participants – were an extensive program with lots of cultural and coming together events.

<< Objectives >>Cross-Border 22 aims to open borders and overcome them both literally and symbolically. This includes overcoming the limits of one's own self-assessment, having the courage to stand on a stage, daring to make diverse social contacts. We want to enable an review of one's own realities and the realities of life of others, diverse identities and cultural diversity. Barriers that prevent coming together and integration should be addressed and processed theatrically and musically. Cultural diversity should be lived and experienced as part of a pluralistic and democratic Europe.Cross-Border 22 is intended to stimulate a critical examination of the present, past and future, to promote interest in political and social issues and to encourage humane action.<< Implementation >>More than 50 young people from Germany, Slovenia, Hungary, Italy, Poland and Serbia meet and encounter each other with the forms and means of expression of theatre, dance and music, play with diverse border experiences.Together on stage, they express longings, dreams and fears, youthful curiosity, new encounters and shared experiences. Cross-Border 22 is an integrative and inclusive project. Many of the young people have migrant background, some have a handicap. They create a piece out of shared ideas, interests and skills. With the stylistic devices of movement theater and music, the young people will take up their own experiences artistically and stage them under professional artistic supervision. Influences from theatre, dance and music pedagogy and non-formal education support the methodical processing of the topics, promote democratic cooperation and participation. The participants discover Europe and leave visible signs and impressions. Towards the end of the youth meeting, the finished piece will be presented to a broad audience in several performances.<< Results >>Cross-Border 22 intends to encourage young people to adopt an open attitude. Open to change and new challenges, to new cultures and encounters, open to learning together.Young people should be able to use their learning experiences after Cross-Border 22. They should be motivated to spend their free time creatively and actively after the project. In their luggage they have a number of new acquaintances, skills and techniques from theatre, dance and music.Their understanding of other cultures and solidarity will expand and they will get an overview of the meaning and possibilities of a European Union and its basic values. This should reduce fears and focus on common paths, opportunities and values.Cross-Border 22 initiates relationships between people and organizations at the European level. A transnational space that lasts as long as possible is created, through which a constructive exchange of ideas, perspectives, values, methods and the realization of joint projects becomes possible. This contributes to European integration. The principle of equality should be implemented in the measure in an artistic and playful way and motivate individuals, youth groups, organizations and institutions to experience and actively live inclusion and accept diversity.

ELABORATOR uses a holistic approach for planning, designing, implementing and deploying specific innovations and interventions towards safe, inclusive and sustainable urban mobility. These interventions, consist of smart enforcement tools, space redesign and dynamic allocation, shared services, and integration of active and green modes of transportation. They will be specifically co-designed and co-created with identified vulnerable to exclusion user groups, local authorities and relevant stakeholders. The interventions will be demonstrated in 6 Lighthouse and 6 Follower cities across Europe with three principal aims: i) to collect, assess and analyse user needs and requirements towards a safe and inclusive mobility and climate neutral cities; ii) to collect and share rich information sets made of real data, traces from dedicated toolkits, users and stakeholders opinions among the cities, so as to increase the take up of the innovations via a twinning approach and iii) to generate detailed guidelines, policies, future roadmap and built capacity for service providers, planning authorities and urban designers for the optimum integration of such inclusive and safe mobility interventions into Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs). The Lighthouse cities are: Milan (Italy), Copenhagen (Denmark), Helsinki (Finland), Issy-les-Moulineaux (France), Zaragoza (Spain) and Trikala (Greece). The Follower cities are Lund (Sweden), Liberec (Czech Republic), Velejne (Slovenia), Ioannina (Greece), Split (Croatia) and Krusevac (Serbia).

The European plastic market is not currently aligned with the circular economy. More than 25.8 million tonnes of plastic waste are produced per year in the EU28 being recycled only 29.7%. This represents a clear loose in the plastic market loop (losses of €10.56bn). Moreover, this goes against the EU legislation on waste (high environmental impact; 23.8 Mt of CO2). Low recycling rates of plastic are mainly due to the situation of packaging waste (i.e. main plastic waste fraction), since it is mainly domestic residue and consequently the quality of the material collected depends on the system of segregation available and the environmental awareness of citizens. PlastiCircle aims to develop and implement a holistic process to increase recycling rates of packaging waste in Europe. This will allow to reprocess again plastic waste in the same value chain (i.e. Circular economy; closure of plastic loop). This process is based on four axes: collection (to increase quantity of packaging collected), transport (to reduce costs of recovered plastic), sorting (to increase quality of recovered plastic), and valorization in value-added products (i.e. foam boards, automotive parts like engine covers/bumpers/dashboards, bituminous roofing membranes, garbage bags, asphalt sheets/roofing felts and urban furniture like fences/benches/protection walls). The target is to increase collection from 81.7% to 87% and valorization in a 9.8%. The implementation of PlastiCircle approach in Europe have the potential to increase collected plastic in 861,250t (reaching 14.14 Mt) and valorization in 1.59Mt. The valorization of this new material, represents a market value of €2.86bn-€7.95bn. Taking into account current figures of the plastic sector (turnover €350bn, 62,000 companies, 1.45M employees), this could imply creation of 500-1400 new companies and the generation of 11,900-33,000 new jobs in the medium to long term if PlastiCircle approach is extended in a EU level.

Urban food systems and ecosystems (UFSE) demand immediate action. CITIES2030 innovative approach have a great opportunity to attract the best researchers, entrepreneurs, civil society leaders, cities and all agents of the UFSE as well. The main goal of CITIES2030 is to create a future proof and effective UFSE via a connected structure centered in the citizen, built on trust, with partners encompassing the entire UFSE. CITIES2030 commit to work towards the transformation and restructuring of the way systems produce, transport and supply, recycle and reuse food in the 21st century. CITIES2030 vision is to connect short food supply chains, gathering cities and regions, consumers, strategic and complement industry partners, the civil society, promising start-ups and enterprises, innovators and visionary thinkers, leading universities and research across the vast diversity of disciplines addressing UFSE, including food science, social science and big data. CITIES2030 actively encourage the participation of citizens by delivering a trusted UFSE, moving consumers from being passive recipients to active engagement and motivated change agents. This objective is achieved via multiple tools delivered by CITIES2030 such as the CRFS Alliance, a community of practice supported by a digital platform, reaching all over Europe and beyond. This approach will enable policy developments, innovation actions within result-driven Labs, and enhancements on a pan-European scope with a global reach. Cities and regions will improve resilience and sustainability, and their leadership will create short food supply chain and ecosystems enabling local investments, trans-borders and transnational deployment. A blockchain-based data-driven UFSE management platform will secure intelligence and coordination actions by delivering an accurate, almost real-time digital twin of the whole supply chain, e.g. from production to waste management, but also on key enablers of resilience and sustainability.
