"The aim of the presented project is to strengthen cooperation in the field of innovation of pedagogical activities between selected higher education institutions and professional organisations with regard to strengthening the competencies of small farms managed by young farmers in the context of value creation, agricultural cooperation and the emerging ""Farm-to-Fork"" strategy. The content of the project will be the characteristics of s small farms managed by young farmers, the definition of their functions (economic, production, technical, social, cultural and ecological), the evaluation of the position of farms at the national and international level, the characteristics of critical points and mitigation strategies. The impact of agricultural policies and legislative changes on the functioning of individual entities will be simulated by a software solution. The chosen strategy to support farm viability is cooperation / collaboration between farmers, farmers and other parts of the food supply chain. Two outputs are prepared for the development of this strategy: examples of good practice and a virtual price comparison tool. The prepared outputs will be used in the teaching process of agricultural students and will also serve as a background tool for science and research. Outputs will be mostly prepared in English and languages of partner institutions (CZ, HU, LT, PL, SK).Other outputs will be three conferences organised as multiplication events and one workshop."

The principal aim of COHSMO is to investigate the relation between socio-economic structures of inequality, urbanization and territorial cohesion, and how territorial cohesion at different European scales affect economic growth, spatial justice and democratic capacities. The way that public, private and civil society stakeholders counter or cushion spatial injustice varies across localities in Europe. In common, is the need to develop the institutional capacities for place-based collaboration and democratically mobilize communities for policy development and adaption. Although location and place have gained attention in European policy and the theoretical thinking informing regional development policies, it is argued in COHSMO that we need to change our orientation in the direction of making place-informed theories and policies instead of applying existing theories and policies on places. This will be done by providing a cross-case analysis and assessment of territorial cohesion within three different cases in each of the seven national partner contexts based on a mixed-method and locality-sensitive approach. The fieldwork will focus firstly on the relation between policy instruments and local experiences of territorial cohesion, and secondly on how “social investment strategies” relate to territorial cohesion and local conditions. Moreover, the project engages in an assessment of spatial development policies at different governance scales to map the impact of different policy instruments in the fight against spatial inequality and spatial injustice. COHSMO is innovative in its differentiated approach to how location matters, and coupled with its conceptual advances COHSMO will develop groundbreaking policy recommendations in relation to sustainable economic growth, spatial justice and democratic capacity. Because they stem from location-sensitive and cross-contextual research, such recommendations will make it possible to develop the European Social Model.

<< Objectives >>The project promotes interest in science, technology and green skills through an increase in both the quantity and the quality of STEAM in schools. To ensure that future-oriented, sustainability-based green STEAM becomes an entrenched part of the education landscape to fulfill local economic and societal needs, the project establishes local green STEAM ecosystems in partner regions with the help of regional authorities, education providers, businesses, and other stakeholders.<< Implementation >>The activities fall into three main categories:1. STEAM practice in schools (The What): The development of green STEAM teaching practices, methods, and materials.2. Teacher competence building in STEAM (The How): The development of green STEAM teacher training modules for in- and pre-service training.3. Local STEAM ecosystem building (The Why): The development of local collaboration platforms for schools, regions, businesses and other stakeholders to keep STEAM locally relevant.<< Results >>The project will result in marked expansion of STEAM in participating schools and regions, improved teacher abilities in sustainable STEAM through specific green STEAM training, and a network of four functioning STEAM ecosystems in the Baltic Sea region. It will also produce the Green STEAM Handbook, which will include the best teaching practices developed in the project, a model for green STEAM teacher training, and a guide to entrenching STEAM through local ecosystem building.

SafeHabitus will make farming a safer occupation. Farming is amongst the most dangerous jobs in Europe. European statistics show that the fatality rate in farming is 233% higher than other industries and the accident rate is 18% higher. These figures underestimate the scale of the problem as a significant proportion of farm workplace fatalities, injuries and ill health go unreported, un-investigated, and prevention approaches are not learned. Improving farmers’ and farm workers’ health and safety requires action by a range of stakeholders to empower and support them to change unsafe practices and adopt new, safer and healthier ways of working. SafeHabitus is a multi-actor project that has come together to strengthen Farm Health and Safety Knowledge Innovation Systems (FHS KIS) and support the EU transition to social sustainability in farming. Our premise is that driving health and safety on farms is not about dissemination but changing habitual practices. To achieve this, SafeHabitus applies a range of novel methods; digital story telling methods with people who experienced accidents; application of the multi-actor approach to co-design farm work risk management tools; foresight analysis; analyses of consumer willingness to pay for food production that protects health and safety; bench-marking policies and elite interviews with policy makers. Our consortia include end-users, stakeholders and researchers in case study Member States. These work together in ten national COPs covering a representative variety of countries and sectors. SafeHabitus also engages with European bodies and stakeholders who provide critical bridges between EU and national / regional actors and who can influence EU policy such as the Geopa (Copa-Cogeca), CEJA, EFFAT, Oxfam, SVLFG, and AEIDL. This multi-level and transnational approach will allow SafeHabitus advance safer practices on farms across the EU.
