assignment_turned_in ProjectPartners:WATWATFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2016-1-PL01-KA103-023767Funder Contribution: 87,588 EUR"The Military University of Technology in Warsaw (MUT) carried out a project: Mobility for Higher Education in the academic year 2016/2017. Within this project the MUT cooperated in the field of foreign exchange in particular with technical universities offering educational courses or traineeships in the English language. In the academic year 2016/2017, within the programme, 37 MUT’s students (mainly from the fields of studies: logistics, power engineering) completed partial studies at foreign university, 4 MUT’s students (from the fields of studies: material engineering, chemistry, aviation and cosmonautics) completed traineeship at foreign university or institutions, 10 MUT’s academic teachers conducted lectures at a foreign university, 10 MUT’s employees participated in training at foreign university or institution. Students completed partial studies mainly at universities in Spain, Finland, Italy, Slovenia and the Czech Republic and completed a traineeship at university or institution in the Czech Republic, Ireland and Italy. Students mainly from second and first cycle of studies left for studies and traineeship. Academic teachers conducted lectures in the field of logistics, management, mechatronics, security sciences at university i.a. in Bulgaria and Slovakia while other staff participated in training at university or institutions i.a. in Slovenia, Great Britain and Romania. In the academic year 2016/2017, within the Erasmus programme, 27 foreign students (mainly from universities in Turkey and Spain) completed partial studies and 4 foreign students (from universities in France, Finland and Italy) completed a traineeship and 4 foreign employees (from universities in Bulgaria and Lithuania) participated in the training at the MUT. MUT's participation in the programme contributed to the fulfillment of the following aims of Erasmus+ Programme: raising main competences and skills, broaden the international aspect of education, improvement of teaching and learning foreign languages, increasing of cross-cultural awareness. MUT's participation in the programme contributed to the fulfillment of the following aims listed in the MUT’s Development Strategy in the years 2011 - 2020:1.„enhancing the position of the MUT in the Polish and European systems of university education as (...) university conducting education (…) in accordance with the Bologna system"",2.„constant widening international scientific and didactic cooperation by the MUT by carrying joint scientific projects and exchanging of scientific staff and students”,3.„adapting the process of education and the graduates' qualifications to the requirements of the labour market”,4.„enhancing the role of English language in the process of education”,5.establishing cooperation and fulfillment of agreements concerned with foreign exchange.MUT's participation in the programme contributed to fulfillment the following aims listed in the Erasmus Policy Statement: developing cooperation with foreign partners, developing mobility, making international and increasing the quality of education, and extending educational offer. Due to participation in the programme the MUT gained the following results: the increase of internalization of education, increase of international mobility of MUT’s students and other staff, extension of cooperation with foreign universities in the field of foreign mobility, extension of cooperation with foreign universities in the field of science and research, broadening of educational offer in English, enhancement of the quality of education, building positive university’s image, promotion of foreign mobility. Participation of the MUT in the programme as individual beneficiary party enables MUT to continue cooperation within the Polish military university consortium KONSMUND within the Erasmus+ programme. Mobility for studies and traineeships within the programme contributed to gaining knowledge, skills and experience in the international environment by the MUT’s students (increasing their assets while searching for a job), while mobility of MUT's staff contributed to gaining knowledge, skills and experience and improvement of competence in the international environment by the MUT’s staff (increasing their qualifications). MUT’s students and the staff became more mobile. Foreign universities cooperating with the MUT had the opportunity to exchange students and staff and exchange experiences and good practice. Foreign students coming to the MUT had an opportunity to gain knowledge, skills and experience at the Polish university, familiarize themselves with the Polish system of education while foreign staff coming to the MUT had an opportunity to gain knowledge, skills and experience, and extend their competences at the Polish university."

Within this project the MUT cooperated in the field of foreign exchange in particular with technical universities offering educational courses or placement in the English language. In the academic year 2015/2016, within the programme, 33 MUT’s students (mainly from the fields of studies: logistics, mechatronics, geodesy and cartography) completed partial studies at foreign university, 6 MUT’s students (from the fields of studies: power engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, geodesy and cartography, management) completed placement at foreign university or institutions, 4 MUT’s academic teachers (from the fields of studies: management, computer science, civil engineering, mechatronics ) conducted lectures at a foreign university, 5 MUT’s employees (from the fields of studies: management, computer science, mechanical engineering) participated in training at foreign university. Students left to study for universities mainly in Spain, Finland, Portugal and to have placement at universities or institutions mainly in Spain, Portugal. Students mainly from second cycle of studies left for studies and placement. Academic teachers conducted lectures at university in Spain, Romania, Italy, Slovakia. Staff visited university mainly in Slovenia, Finland and Latvia to participated in training. In the academic year 2015/2016 – 6 foreign students (from universities in Turkey, Spain, Greece) completed partial studies and 2 foreign students (from universities in France, Turkey) completed placement at the MUT. 1 academic teacher from universities in Turkey conducted lectures at the MUT in the fields of studies chemistry. MUT's participation in the programme contributed to fulfilment the following aims listed in the MUT’s Development Strategy in the years 2011 - 2020: - „enhancing the position of the MUT in the Polish and Europe systems of university education as a new-generation scientific-research university conducting education (…) in accordance with the Bologna system"", - „constant widening international scientific and didactic cooperation by the MUT by carrying joint scientific projects and exchanging of scientific staff and students”,- „adapting the process of education and the graduates' qualifications to the requirements of the labour market”, - „developing various forms of individual process of education and developing students' activity,- „enhancing the role of the English language in the process of education”,- establishing cooperation and fulfilment agreements concerned foreign exchange. Mobility for studies and placement within the programme contributed to gain knowledge, skills and experience in the international environment by the MUT’s students (increase of assets during searching for job), while mobility of MUT's staff contributed to gain knowledge, skills and experience and improvement competence in the international environment by the MUT’s staff (increase of qualifications). MUT’s students and staff become more mobility (part of participants of the programme take advantage of it several times or take advantage of different programme of foreign exchange or form going abroad). Foreign students had opportunity to gain knowledge, skills and experience at Polish university, learnt of the Polish language and familiarize themselves with Polish system of education and culture during their stay at the MUT. Over the academic year 2014/2015, within the above mentioned project, 31 students completed their partial studies, 5 students completed placement, 3 employees participated in training, 1 university teacher conducted lectures at a foreign university. Students left to study for universities mainly in Italy, Denmark, Latvia, Finland, Greece (mainly from power engineering, logistics, national security, material engineering field of studies) and to have placement for university in Italy (from construction engineering field of studies). Students mainly from second cycle of studies left for studies and placement. MUT?s workers visited company in Germany and research institute in France to participated in training. One university teacher conducted lectures at university in Finland. In the year 2014/2015 also 15 foreign students spent part of their studies at the MUT. Foreign students came from Turkey, Hungary and Spain. MUT's participation in the project contributed to: increase of international education and training, development of international mobility, extension of cooperation with foreign universities, establishing cooperation with foreign universities (signing cooperation agreements within programme Erasmus+), enhancement the quality of education, exchange of experience and good practice with foreign universities, improvement educational offer in the English language, building positive MUT?s image (by presentation information about university at international conferences and own presentation MUT?s workers during their participation in programme, enhancement the awareness of the benefits from participation in the project by MUT?s students and staff, promotion the Polish culture. Studies and placement within the programme Erasmus+ contributed to gain new knowledge, skills and experience in the international environment by the students, while contributed to professional development and improvement competence by MUT?S staff. MUT?s students obtained an opportunity to become acquainted with the system of education and placement at foreign universities and foreign culture. MUT?s staff obtained an opportunity to: become acquainted with teaching, sciences, the system of education and management of quality of education at foreign universities or the system of training at foreign company, meet with foreign universities' staff and students or staff at companies, exchange experience and good practice with foreign partners, establish new contacts didactic-scientific to become acquainted with foreign culture.While cooperating with the MUT, foreign universities had the opportunity to exchange experiences and good practice. Foreign students studying partially at the MUT had opportunity to gain knowledge, skills and experience at Polish university, learnt of the Polish language (take advantage of courses of the Polish language) and became aware of Polish system of education and culture. MUT's participation in the project contributed to the following goals listed in the MUT?s Development Strategy in the years 2011 - 2020:- ?enhancing the position of the MUT in the Polish and Europe systems of university education as a new-generation scientific-research university conducting education (?) in accordance with the Bologna system"",- ?adapting the process of education and the graduates' qualifications to the requirements of the labour market? (due to studies an placement abroad), ?developing various forms of individual process of education and developing students' activity? (by individual arrangement of studies' programmes or placement within the project), ?enhancing the role of the English language in the process of education?,- ?constant widening international scientific and didactic cooperation by the MUT by carrying joint scientific projects and exchanging of teaching staff and students?, by initiating and fulfillment exchange agreements.Participating in the programme Erasmus+, the MUT fulfilled the following Erasmus Policy Statement assumptions: establishing and developing cooperation with foreign partners, developing mobility, making international and increasing the quality of education, extending educational offer (by possibility of studies abroad). Participation MUT in the project as individual Beneficiary made it possible to establish cooperation within the military services' university consortium (KONSMUND) regarding the fulfillment of mobility within programme . Numerous of the above mentioned results are long-term benefits."

The most important aim of cooperation in the project no 2016-1-PL01-KA103-023950 was to boost growth of the employment of students/graduates and defeat major challenges facing Europe in area of education and training. Promoting the attractiveness of didactic process was expected to limit the phenomenon of too precocious leaving school by young people. Mentioned above circumstances spearheaded the process of implementation international education at universities of Konsmund to provide students and graduates skills they need in today's labor market, directly connected with the opportunity to gain international experience by employers. The purpose of the consortium's participation in the project was also to support non-formal and informal learning with formal learning acquired at foreign universities/institutions.According to the financial agreement, the beneficiaries of the project were outgoing/incoming students for studies, placement, as well as outgoing/incoming employees conducting lectures or participating in trainings. The consortium has carried out 65 student mobilities and 71 staff mobilities. There were 136 beneficiaries abroad. A large group of 200 foreign students and employees participated in mobilities at one of the universities within Konsmund. Budget of the project has been accomplished at the level of 58.90% (EUR 192,735.00 EUR) comparing to the allocated funds (327,214.00 EUR). Amongst all participants women constituted 52 beneficiaries of the project (38.24%), 84 were men (61.76%). During SMS, STA, STT departures Czech Republic was the famous country, for SMP - Greece.Ensuring high quality of mobilities within KONSMUND involved assessment of the learning outcomes. The consortium evaluated offer of partner institutions and tried to sign the agreements regarding study program/internship/lecture/training before departure. Universities of Konsmund used the best efforts to ensure transfer of learning outcomes at home institution and to provide an input for careers of staff. Common efforts undertaken by universities have ensured a high level of satisfaction midst students and staff. Cyclical meetings of the project co-ordinators, coordinators' meetings with the authorities of their own universities have made it possible to improve communication between universities/ universities and beneficiaries, to ensure the dissemination of project results. All outgoing participants were taken into substantive care mainly by the Erasmus+ Office and academic staff. At each university of KONSMUND, a financial scholarship is paid before planned mobility. Foreign students have support of Erasmus+ office and Polish students so-called Mentors.Organizing, promoting and information activities, as well as disseminating of projects results in cooperating universities have contributed to increasing familiarity of the programme in academic environment. Activities were organized centrally by War Studies University and individually by each partner, using following tools:1. Central information channels during meetings of KONSMUND coordinators, Erasmus Day and Cousine, International Week, international student conferences, occasional international evenings, study visits to military high school, Erasmus Sports Olympics, foreign consortium meetings.2. Individual projects: meetings at the faculty and snack meetings at dormitories, meetings with foreign students, STA and STT visits of foreign employees, joint activities of foreign and polish students, study trips and cultural visits (Erasmus Trip), publications, information on websites, social media, roll-ups.The project resulted in higher level students qualifications at Konsmund institutions, increase their intercultural, personal-social, language competences. Students, through the competences and experience acquired during mobilities, became more attractive on the labor market. Some of the students after successful internship got an offer for paid internship or even full time job. Participation in the project allowed KONSMUND employees to broaden their knowledge, improve language skills, build a network of contacts, gain international experience. The beneficiaries of the program became more curious about the surrounding world and consider themselves as European citizens. The local environment has become more international due to the presence of students and foreign academics. The attractiveness and quality of the didactic process between consortiums institutions has been improved. Universities started to cooperate more intensively, leading new initiatives in Poland and abroad.
