The Erasmus +, KA103 project was aimed at supporting the realization of mobility of university students, teachers and staff within the EU programme countries. All types of activities were supported - SMS (study stays), SMP (student placements/internships), STA (teaching assignments) and STT (employee trainings). The University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (USB) had more than 380 inter-institutional contracts with foreign universities in the programme countries at the time of the project implementation. The main objective of the project was to acquire and deepen practical and theoretical professional and pedagogical knowledge as well as language, organizational, managerial competencies and skills that are directly related to the professional and personal development of a person and his applicability to the European labour market. The target group was students and employees of USB. The result of the project was mainly the motivation for further study of the participating students, but also the enhancement of professional knowledge and communication skills, the practice and obtaining of information and documents abroad which lead to successful completion of studies and obtaining a high quality job. Employees were also motivated to further implementation of international trends in the USB, to strengthen language rhetorical skills, to exchange professional approaches, teaching, managerial and administrative experience. It can be said that the most important output of the project is the overall improvement of the quality of the level of education and training within the European standards and the development of the international environment at the USB. The participants of the project were recruited from all eight faculties and the Rectorate of the USB. Students went to study stays and practical internships, teachers to teaching assignments and trainings. Increasingly, managerial or administrative spheres have also been involved - they have sent out administrative staff engaged in foreign affairs, study, science and research, librarianship, lifelong learning. On the basis of the interim report, the project grant was increased by National Agency with an amount of EUR 7 500 - a grant for travel and subsistence costs for participants in practical internships. The Grant Agreement was amended by Appendix No. 1 to the Grant Agreement. From the project financial means there were also paid increased costs for students from a disadvantaged socio-economic environment. The implementation of the project at the USB is centrally supervised by the Department of Foreign Relations of the Rector's Office of the University of South Bohemia - 2 members of the administrative staff under the leadership of the Vice-Rector for Foreign Relations, at the faculties the Vice-Deans and Foreign Relations Coordinators.Employees´ stays on average took 4 days, with the biggest interest for outgoing to neighbouring countries - Slovakia, Germany and Poland.Students stays took on average 4 months, with the biggest interest for outgoing to France, Germany and Austria. Mobilities were funded in combination of the EU grant and zero-grant (Ministry of Education´s or other sources). There were also several pure zero-grants (14 STA, 3 STT, 6 SMS, 22 SMP)). In the mobility of employees, there is still more and more interest in the training mobilities abroad. Teachers also take advantage of combined mobility - they meet the required amount of teching hours + participate in a workshop, job-shadowing, round tables or other educational activities organized by a partner university (14 mobilities).Motivation for mobility is the promotion and dissemination of the Erasmus + project at faculties and targeted at the Rectorate through information sessions, seminars, leaflets, written and oral information and counseling, as well as for students with health disabilities or specific educational needs. Within the framework of the project, the Department of Foreign Relations co-operates with the International Student Club, whose members are very helpful in providing a buddy system, help.desk and other services for foreign students. Excursions to the capital cities (Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Berlin), as well as other integration and joint events in the area of sports, gastronomy and culture are very popular. The feedback from the realization of the project mobilities is obtained in the form of final reports of the EU Survey and in the form of oral or possibly written information at faculty and rectorate level. In 2016/2017, there were realized a total of 281 mobilities, which were mostly evaluated very positively. Students and employees appreciated the possibility of staying at selected European universities, where mobility provides quality education and cooperation. After mobility, active efforts are being made to disseminate information and experience gained abroad. It contributes to cultural and social inclusion within the EU and the social responsibility.

The University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (USB) in the Call 2015 for the first time got involved in the Erasmus + - International Credit Mobility program, which is designed to support the incoming and outgoing mobility of students and staff from non-European universities. The project was intended to support existing partnerships and enhance the mutual cooperation in areas of strategic interest. We applied for the mobility to 10 countries (Australie, Argentina, Chile, China, Mexico, Russian Federation,Thailand, United States, Ukraine, Viet Nam) and we received the grant for 3 states - Australia, Russian Federation and Ukraine. We have expanded the required number of 27 mobilities to 44 mobilities (we have used funds for the Organization Support and full zero-grants). By Appendix no. 1 to the grant agreement, we extended the project implementation period to 26 months, until 31 July 2017, by Appendix No. 2 a transfer of remaining funds from SMS activity to one necessary STA UA activity was enabled. An inter-institutional agreement was concluded with all partner institutions before the start of the mobility. The project was implemented on the basis of 4 required aspects - 1) the relevance of the strategy, 2) the quality of the cooperation conditions, 3) the quality of the design and implementation of the project and 4) the impact and dissemination of the results. The project was based on the strategic plan of our university and its aim was to strengthen already existing good relationships with partner universities, to help partners to set Erasmus+ management and its processes in order to get the most out of European conditions (i.e.implementation of credit system, internationalization and quality management mechanisms for higher education and final works, new teaching methods, scientific technical cooperation and joint publishing activities etc.). The implementation of the project took two years and the basis were generally 4 phases - preparation of the mobility, realization and administration of the mobility, the evaluation and promotion plus dissemination of the project. The target group was the academic staff and students of the University of USB and its partners. There also were accompanying activities not funded by the grant, which supported this project - eg. an acquisition trip to Ukraine, participation in partner conferences, two summer schools for Ukrainian students (in July 2016 - 49 persons and 2017 - 71 persons), an annual summer school for Australian students at our Faculty of Economics and one summer school for our students of the Faculty of Education in Ukraine, the organization of entrance examinations for the proper study programmes of the University of South Bohemia in Ukraine, workshops for students and parents regarding visa and nostrification conditions etc.The key element of the project were personal encounters - the best basis for sustaining of the further mutual co-operation and expanding opportunities in teaching, science and research. The administration of the project was centrally provided by the Department of Foreign Relations of the Rectorate of the USB and by Vice-Deans of the involved USB faculties, on the part of the partner by the specific academic staff and the international departments of the universities.Australia - the project was based on a long-standing partnership and cooperation in the field of international trade and tourism with the Faculty of Economics. Six academics went to Victoria University in Melbourne (two of them as a zero-grant) and students were exchanged - 3 students went to Australia and 2 students arrived from Australia. Russian Federation - the cooperation also took place with two well-known partners (Sankt Petersburg Law Academy with the Faculty of Education and Gosrybcenter Tjumen (State Agrarian University of the Northern Trans-Urals) with the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters. In total, 4 of our teaching staff travelled there and 5 academics arrived (1 at STA and 4 at STT with 1 zero-grant).Ukraine - an important aspect of the project was the support of Ukraine in the wartime and the extension of the beginning cooperation with the universities in Western Ukraine. One of the strategic priorities of the USB is to support the members of the Czech-speaking minority in this area with a focus on the compatriot societies. The cooperation with 4 partner universities (Eastern European Slavic University in Uzhgorod, Ternopil National Economic University, Zhytomyr State Technological University and V.N.Karazin Kharkov National University) went smoothly; 6 teachers went out and 8 teachers and 11 students came to us.The representatives of USB materially supported the Association of Volhynian Czechs in Zhytomyr during their mobilities. Ukrainian students are very interested in studying in the Czech language. The language preparation of students in the Czech language is provided free of charge by the Language Training Center of Zhytomyr TU.
