I-Media-Cities is the initiative of 9 European Film Libraries, 5 research institutions, 2 technological providers and a specialist of digital business models to share access to and valorise audiovisual (AV) content from their collections for research purposes in a wide range of social sciences (sociology, anthropology, urban planning, etc). The project revolves around cities in European history and identity. A huge quantity of fictional and non-fictional AV works (from the end of the 19th century onwards) in their collections describe cities in all aspects, including physical transformation and social dynamics. Such material could prove of enormous value to scholars in different fields of study. I-Media-Cities plans integration and technical development work to push interoperability among 9 archives and generate two types of e-environments to be used by researchers and innovators for research and other creative purposes. This will allow new approaches to research in social sciences and unleash creativity, in new forms of delivery and consumption of that content which the creative industry would be able to propose for instance in tourism or in the cultural economy. To make that possible, the project relies on collaboration among three main components: a) FHI (Film Holding Institutions); b) research institutions in different areas of social sciences; c) expertise in exploitation processes of digital content. At the end of the project, we will deliver a digital content access platform (interoperable and multilingual), made available to a growing community of researchers and creatives Europe-wide to push the boundaries of what we can learn, through AV material on cities, on European history and identity. The legacy of I-Media-Cities will be a new model for research on digital sources (applicable also to other subject areas), plus appropriate exploitation plans to consolidate and expand the platform into the European reference initiative on AV digital content.

"Forum Annecy 2015 - Integration , formation and carriers developing in Jazz and Contemporary Music in European timeThe association ""JAZZ(s)RA"" is the link between the different cultural actors in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes. At the scale of the regional territory, this platform aims to develop and promote jazz and improvised music, built with its members (scenes and festivals, artists and collectives, training, education and broadcast structures) and with all the relevant partners to achieve these goals. It is considering the decisions of the speaking students and young European artists that this networking action found its originality compared to other salons events in Europe, giving it a precursor and promising status at the crossroads of education and professionalization.Indeed, this project of first jazz forum dealt with numerous exchanges and meetings between young students/artistic entrepreneurs and decision makers. It promoted the internationalization of courses for young European artists through a new cooperation on an inter regional scale thanks to the support of our French, German, Spanish and Italian partners from the 4 motor regions for Europe (Auvergne Rhône- Alpes, Lombardy, Catalonia, Baden-Württemberg).To carry out this project, which was held from the 13th to the 18th of October in the Pays de Savoie territories (with a focus on the Annecy’s conglomeration from the 14th of October), the 500 participants (including 184 young and decision makers who directly benefited from the support of the European Union) took advantage of a unique frame of non- formal and informal learning centered around meetings, conferences, workshops, face to face teaching. This forum was organized within the general framework of the Structured Dialogue device : the youth axes of the Europe 2020 strategy, the European Youth Cooperation’s framework 2010-2018 also, the Bologna process for higher education partners, respect of the different repositories involved in these, and national compliance with job standards through social and professional environment in this dimension of certification, and degree programs. We shall say that this action was a great success and greatly exceeded our initial targets including having integrated this forum project to a major event with many artists to a much wider audience than directly affected by the dimension of the forum (6000 spectators and participants involved). Our desire to converge all of our missions to a major annual event which serves the general interest for the youth, the cooperation between peoples, the generations and for this music, the Jazz that we carry on supporting with great conviction is an important first step in the life of our association and we will not fail to inform you of the consequences of our future actions. Also we want to thank all the members of the European Commission that approved our file when on board. This support was a proof of appreciation to all our members and partners. It reinforces us in the risky but healthy choices we have been questioning after the first 5 years of exercise, and the variety of programs we have settled for the emergence and professional integration."
