For the staff, the mobilities will be put in place in order to exchange good practices in their respective sectors with colleagues who manage administrative and logistical issues, for the teaching staff, on the other hand, the exchange activities will consist in the creation of academic bilateral or multilateral partnerships, in participating or holding lectio magistralis within academic courses and therefore to strengthen networking activities among universities. The objectives that the consortium aims to meet are the following:•Contribute to the improvement of the international dimension of education and training, in particular through cooperation between higher education institutions in Italy and in the countries of the southern shore of the Mediterranean and in the Balkans, primarily through the promotion of experiences of mobility and cooperation;•Support students in acquiring skills and abilities (such as learning new languages) in order to develop their academic profile and secure new job opportunities;•Aim for a deeper understanding of the cultures of the Mediterranean, providing the opportunity to create international partnerships, to actively participate in the social life of a foreign country and the development of a Euro-Mediterranean identity;•Facilitate and simplify the administrative, bureaucratic and organizational management of the activities of mobility in both the preparatory and operational phases of the mobility. The consortium, as well as for the first and second editions, will ensure different levels of impact, such as the institutional, economic-social and national / regional one. Achieving these objectives will require not only effective inter-university cooperation but also solid collaboration with the competent local and territorial actors. Each of these aspects in fact requires different skills, implies different activities and contributes to the improvement of society in general and will require the involvement of academic and non-academic staff, but will also encourage communication and cooperation between the respective universities, local authorities and the wider local company. This impact primarily affects the partner institutions within the consortium, both Italian and on the southern shore of the Mediterranean, whose international cooperation and management capacities will be enhanced by being able to benefit from the transfer of new knowledge and cultural baggage enriched thanks to the new experiences of exchange and mobility both outgoing and incoming. An increasing flow of international students and staff will induce the faculties and departments of the host universities involved to adapt and improve their procedures for welcoming participants. In terms of benefits for the whole consortium, the experience of international programs will strengthen the possibility of creating new exchange programs with the same members that are part of the consortium, creating a cascade effect. In addition, the project will also promote international networking and cooperation between a variety of university departments, increasing their hosting and sending facilities and increasing institutional cooperation. This experience will then establish a model of collaboration between administrative and academic staff in their respective institutions, paving the way for future joint programs that go beyond student and staff mobility. Furthermore, the signing of interinstitutional agreements will ensure that the relationships built during the ongoing project will remain in place well beyond its completion.

Strategic internationalisation activities are a cornerstone of world class higher education systems. European universities must be at the forefront of internationalisation to deliver quality higher education opportunities for their students and the opportunities for staff to develop ground-breaking research. At the same time, the ability to understand international education systems and qualifications frameworks is a crucial enabler for universities looking to recruit the best students and staff from around the world. The key objectives of the project will be twofold: to promote opportunities for internationalisation by European universities with the focus on the specific target countries in the Levant; and to promote improved recognition of qualifications and transparency around the education systems in Europe. The principle participants will be international office and admissions staff at EU universities and higher education institutions. It is they who will be the end target beneficiaries of the project results, benefiting from improved guidance on internationalisation opportunities and obtaining a better understanding of the education systems in the Levant. The consortium will undertake to develop the project results through an approach incorporating a number of key activities. These will include phased stages of primary and secondary source research (incorporating surveys as well as interviews and engagement via associated events) into the systems and opportunities available in the Levant, as well as the areas in which EU HEIs particularly require guidance and support; webinars to inform stakeholders about the project aims; the drafting and development of the toolkit on internationalisation opportunities and guidance on education systems; and ultimately events to involve participants face-to-face in understanding the project outputs. The project will result in tangible outputs that will be disseminated across Europe to promote increased cooperation between higher education institutions in Europe and the Levant. The project will develop guidance on internationalisation opportunities in the Levant, for the benefit of internationalisation strategies of EU universities, and on understanding Levantine educations systems and qualifications (in particular qualification and credit frameworks, with a view to making the connections between them and EU tools such as the EQF and ECTS clear and transparent) so that EU universities can better integrate students from the region into the EU education system. The results will be available digitally, in the form of an online toolkit, enabling widespread access by EU HEIs. The expected impacts of the project will be both short-term and longer-term, including an increased awareness by European HEIs of the opportunities for internationalisation and partnerships between Europe and the Levant, and increased understanding of the education systems and qualifications in the Levant by European HEIs. This thereby supports HEIs internationalisation strategies and improves the smooth functioning of admissions processes when accepting applicants from the region. Longer-term impacts will include improved transparency of qualifications, and a greater ability for learners to be mobile between Europe and the Levant through an improved understanding of the respective systems. The links formed in the project will also support the longer-term impact of increased partnerships and activities between the Levant and Europe, enabling European HEIs to achieve their internationalisation strategies.

Its objectives are: raise awareness of the role played by HE in tracking disinformation and bias in visual communication; increase the digital fluency and critical consciousness about visual media of EU HE students; Enable HE academic staff, senior management and communication staff to develop sustainable strategies for integrating visual media literacy at all levels of institutional activities.<< Implementation >>The project will first analyse good practices and strategic tools in the field and organise a consultation with experts to identify suitable tools and strategies to promote visual media literacy. Then it will develop and test an online course with at least 150 students of various faculties. Finally, it will provide guidelines and recommendations to be discussed with relevant stakeholders in a Validation Workshop.<< Results >>The project addressed HE students as the primary target group of the online course aimed at developing their visual media literacy. It addresses senior management and staff raising their awareness with the Report on visual media literacy and their capacity with the CLIP toolkit providing tools and strategies for the implementation of the related learning offer.
