Climatubers intends to link digital technologies with social action, in this case to foster action to tackle the emerging challenge of climate change-driven inequalities. Climatubers will use the Participatory Video (PV) methodology to lead digitally excluded groups and youth from vulnerable areas on articulating narratives around climate change-driven inequalities, and on producing and disseminating a video explaining their story.PV is a methodological approach in which a group of individuals create a film on an issue of interest or concern, deciding what is important to include and how they wish to be represented. The idea behind PV is to empower communities by accompanying those into the process of identifying their own difficulties related to the climate change consequences, and proving support for telling the story to other social agents. PV makes prominent the process, and while identifying their vulnerability to climate change, the participants learn new skills for using a video-camera, editing software, audio-visual online storage and sharing, storyboard creation, and digital storytelling (infographics, memes, comics, social networks, online polls, etc.). Narratives showing how climate change entails an increase of social inequalities are still to be built and mainstreamed to permeate into the public debate and translate into climate policies that incorporate a social inclusion approach. The project intends to upscale experiences with PV implemented in developing countries to showcase the social inclusion dimension of climate change in Europe. Through the use of PV and online-based dissemination, the beneficiaries will acquire new digital skills related to the creation of visual contents, storytelling, and online dissemination and communication. The project also intends to promote the use of PV for acknowledging climate-driven inequalities by transferring knowledge and pedagogical approaches to educators, youth and social workers and decision-makers.

The purpose of the Sport!OP! project -Opportunities for inclusion of vulnerable youth through sport - is to develop local community-based strategies using sports as a vehicle of social inclusion. The project targets most socially vulnerable young people, between the age of 8-20 years – with special attention to girls - & aims to design & implement an intervention based on the promotion of resilience through the practice of sport. Inviting up until today separated groups, requires joint efforts between several players on the local & regional level, and that is why the Sport!OP! takes a multi-stakeholder approach, in which public, private & voluntary organizations have an interest & a role to play. This provides an opportunity to use an integrative approach & to create a network of local key stakeholders working together towards the same objective. This will be achieved with the consolidation of the local community-based strategies (SO1), which will form a Strategic Action Plan (IO3). In addition, the partnership will uncover good practices related to sport activity proving a socio-educational value (SO2), gathered in the Mapping (IO1), design & implement a pilot methodology promoting resilience through sport activities (SO3) with the Methodological Handbook (IO2) & finally, evaluate & consolidatie the key lessons learned (SO4) to define a socio-educational proposal, replicable to other contexts, & elaborate useful policy recommendation (IO4). The project will focus on small to medium sized municipalities facing social deprivation in its neighbourhoods from Spain, France, Belgium, Sweden, Croatia, Bosnia & Hercegovina. As a bottom-line, the project expects to build resilience and improve social & life skills, ultimately increasing the welfare of the socially vulnerable young groups and their participation in sport activities – especially from girls, while having better interaction & a sense of belonging with the local societies.

EYES intends to implement and evaluate an innovative method based on youth participation on the energy and climate local planning. Climate change is a global challenge that will especially affect young generations. However, young generations don’t usually have a voice on energy and climate planning. In addition, vulnerable communities are more likely to suffer climate change effects while they usually have more difficulty having their voice represented. As such, young people from vulnerable communities represent a sector of society that is both hard to reach and especially disempowered on that topic. EYES will create Youth Intervention Teams (YIT), spaces for dialogue on energy and climate change for young people from different backgrounds. Emphasis will be put on the composition of its members, ensuring they represent different social backgrounds to foster mutual understanding. These YIT will develop a research, a survey to other young people, and interviews to identify the key fears and barriers from the youth perspective on energy and climate. This will improve their skills on analyzing social matters, and on co-creating positive solutions to the barriers identified. This process will be mentored by a multidisciplinary Advisory Board (AB), composed by representatives of relevant stakeholders, who will act as role models for different climate change profiles. At the end of the YIT activities, they will produce Recommendations for policy makers on energy and climate planning, and on how to engage youth in these topics. The collective process with other young people and the AB will increase their capacities to dialogue and their civic and social competences.EYES will demonstrate that youth participation in public matters can have 3 relevant impacts: a) foster social cohesion among young people, b) improve young people’s civic skills, and 3) improve local plans by providing the youth perspective to the policy makers.

The SWUP Project was implemented smoothly and produced the expected results. The 5 work packages of the project (WP1 Be Connected. Building the SWUP Community of Practice, WP 2 Get Inspired: Survey and good practices, WP3 Be involved: Pilot Actions, WP4 Communication and Dissemination, WP5 Project management, monitoring, evaluation) were developed with a high involvement & commitment of the consortium. As far as the 1st package is concerned, the development of the SWUP Analytical Framework proved useful in drafting the survey and the template for the collection of good practices. This step was developed by applying solid academic skills to the practical contexts of partners’ local communities. The process of building the online platform also led the partners to carry out a coordination and intellectual effort to develop a common understanding of the expected results of the platform and of the relevant topics to be discussed. Regarding the 2nd working package, the survey report was a crucial tool for partners to connect with the project’s target and get to know their needs, barriers and motivations concerning outdoor physical activity. Due to difficulties in reaching out to the target, partners decided to extend the survey collection phase, which allowed each partner to develop a relevant number of both questionnaires and related results on which to build the following actions. The Catalogue of Good Practice (IO5), albeit drafted by only one partner, was shared during the second international meeting and partner cities could get inspired for the identification of their pilot activities. Concerning the 3rd working package, the identification and implementation of pilot activities in the local community saw widespread participation and deep engagement by most of the partners. Thanks to their knowledge of the local context and to the technical support of ALDA and IRS, the activities tackled the identified needs with context-specific solutions. For example, Italian partners tackled the need of conciliating sport activities together with work and family duties by organising sport activities in the park near women’s workplace and by implementing the course during lunch breaks. As far as the 4th working package is concerned, communication and dissemination were ensured by the foreseen project activities, e.g. 7 multiplier sport events (national and international); the drafting of the Communication, Dissemination, and Exploitation plan; a clear and energic visual identity; 6 newsletters and the publications’ dissemination. As a part of the outputs was both in English and in the national languages of the partners, the publications have been disseminated both internationally (mainly by ALDA) as well as locally (mainly carried out by partner cities). Finally, concerning the 5th working package is concerned, the project management went quite smoothly. The challenges represented by the departure and replacement of a partner and the financial transfer of budget from one partner to the other were managed. The project activities’ implementation date/period of some intellectual outputs was extended or delayed, due to national circumstances (e.g.: national/local elections) and to “propitious” action moments identified among the partners. These delays, although causing some stress towards the end of the project, did not compromise the delivery of the project outcomes. As for the monitoring, the partners consortium decided to ease this task by applying a continuous informal monitoring by part of the project’s coordinator and the support of IRS and Mulier Instituut. Concerning the evaluation, the evaluation report carried out by IRS and the high evaluative component of some of the project’s outcomes provided the consortium with a considerable amount of information and feedback concerning the project implementation that proved useful both to inform the partners of the impact of their actions and for communication purp

Water scarcity, population growth, and climate change put immense pressure on global water resources, challenging human health, environmental sustainability, and economic development. DECIRE-WATER addresses these issues by demonstrating innovative, scalable, and circular water and wastewater management solutions at five sites in Europe and one in South Africa. The project will provide pioneering, affordable, and sustainable decentralised systems, designed to function independently or integrated with centralised infrastructure, predominantly based on Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) but also incorporating technical processes. By project completion, our solutions will reach TRL 7-8 and be tailored to diverse geographic, climatic, and socio-economic conditions. Advanced monitoring technologies and digital tools will be incorporated to demonstrate that DECIRE-WATER can achieve the required level of safety and reliability, which is critical for achieving regulatory approval, public acceptance, and eventual market adoption. We will engage stakeholders through co-design and co-creation, fostering acceptance and market uptake, while developing a decision framework to guide policymakers. Public-private partnerships will also be explored to test sustainable business models. Our long-term impact by 2035, is to operate the DECIRE-WATER systems which will collectively drive €60 million in revenues and create 200 jobs in the water sector. In addition, our solutions will collectively benefit 7% of the European population by reclaiming over 7.8 million m³ of water annually, with estimated energy savings amounting to 751,300 MWh/year. By aligning with EU priorities on climate resilience, water security, and sustainability, DECIRE-WATER is well-positioned to meet global water management challenges, ensuring long-term impact and success.
