"Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT) participated in the Erasmus+ Partner Countries project through two international master’s degree programmes – the first being the “International Master of Agricultural Management” (IMA), and the second being the “International Master of Landscape Architecture” (IMLA), which is taught in English and offered by the Department of Landscape Architecture in cooperation with the Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Science. The Erasmus+ programme enabled the continuation of cooperation with our partners in the form of joint projects, training courses, workshops, teaching mobilities and student exchanges, in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Montenegro, Paraguay, Russian Federation, Serbia, Thailand, Ukraine and Uzbekistan, which were already partner countries in the 2016 Erasmus+ KA 107 project. Altogether, mobilities were conducted with the departments of Agricutlture, Food, and Nutrition and Landscape Architecture at HSWT, and the economic and agricultural or architecture and forestry faculties of 34 partner institutions in 14 countries. As a result of participating in the Erasmus+ KA107 project, HSWT and its partners were able to meet the following targets:- increasing the internationalisation of teaching content, as well as promoting the international and especially the intercultural skills of students and teachers;- imparting and further developing relevant specialist competences and important issues, (e.g. relating to the EU’s environmental and agricultural policies (through student and staff mobilities);- imparting new didactic approaches (through staff and teaching mobilities) which can be implemented at the partner universities, and can contribute to updating their curricula (e.g. dialogue-oriented forms of teaching in the context of practical project work, training in transversal skills, work with interdisciplinary groups, and complex tasks);- giving support in HSWT's competence and profile areas ""sustainability and environment"" through the concrete assistance of partner universities – e.g. through curricular consulting, co-teaching, the transfer of knowledge and technology, setting up research alliances, integration in European networks of partneruniversities, etc;- strengthening the presence and awareness in the Western Balkans and Central Asia of the engineering and master’s degree programmes offered by the “green” HSWT in the fields of planning, environment and agriculture;- developing pathways for future collaboration platforms through introducing a common study course in the field of agricultural management;- jointly executing research and development projects through workshops and trainings in the field of agricultural farm management data."

Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences has successfully implemented its 2017 Erasmus+ project. In doing so, it has made a significant positive contribution to international academic mobility within the university.Areas of focus included practical learning in an international context, the attraction of international students, and increased participation in international research and development projects. As planned, collaboration with European partners was intensified and a number of new university agreements were concluded.Across all elements of the project, there was a strong focus on ensuring that all university students and staff have equal access to the program, regardless of their personal background. There was an increase in demand for the English-language course focusing on Sustainable Engineering, which is particularly aimed at Erasmus students and covers content dealing with the utilisation, management and preservation of natural resources. The course also enabled students without German skills to successfully take part in study visits. Working with international lecturers, it is also planned to extend the number of modules currently on offer. The mobility of teaching staff is viewed as being key to the promotion of internationalisation, and also contributes to the consolidation of international skills and experience, and the recognition of a university's performance on an international level.A central recognition procedure by the Examination Office and an examination committee guarantees the full recognition of the study achievement abroad. For the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf, the Erasmus + program is an important strategic tool to ensure the mobility of students and staff and to improve the employability of graduates.
