The main objective of PC&M is: • To introduce a different approach on coaching & mentoring fewer opportunity youngsters The main objective can be separated in six aims: • To train 32 youth workers on how to coach & mentor fewer opportunity youngsters • To let youth workers and youth organisations define their own coaching method and approach towards inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities • To improve the quality of 12 youth organisations in the way how they work with youngsters • To create agogic working methods and implement them while coaching & mentoring young people with fewer opportunities • To disseminate and spread the outcomes of PC&M through mentoring youngsters in realizing a project • To disseminate and spread coaching, mentoring and its methodologically approach' through a coaching manual PC&M improved the skills and competences of 32 youth workers and youth organisations coming from: Greece, Czech, Spain, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, and Netherlands. All participating youth workers in the training activity are working with youngsters in their community and organisation. The youth workers and youth organisations improved themselves when it comes to coach and mentor youngsters with fewer opportunities in a more effective and productive way which enables these youngsters to be engaged, challenged, motivated and invited to be included in society. The training activity happened between 10/01/2019 (arrival day) and 18/01/2019 (departure day). Training venue: Olde Vechte, Ommen, The Netherlands The main methods used in PC&M is to show and let youth workers experience/practice a variety of coaching & mentoring techniques out of which they can distill what can be implemented in the target group they work with. PC&M consisted of 4 stages: • Preparation - youth workers defined the community and target group in which they are working • Training • Post-training - learnt material and techniques in PC&M were practiced and implemented back home through coaching sessions and a workshop • Dissemination & evaluation - spreading of tangible results and evaluation of the created impact through PC&M As an outcome of PC&M there is: 1) a research which defined the own cultural map in which the youth worker and youth organisation is working 2) coaching sessions with young people with fewer opportunities in which they are engaged to participate in society 3) a workshop to let the participating youth workers train other youth workers, volunteers, members of the organisation, etc. on coaching & mentoring 4) a manual which describes 'Coaching & Mentoring' which is spread and disseminated The long-term benefits of PC&M is the quality improvement of local, national and international projects regarding youth work and specifically the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities. At the time it emerged as a need to seek support for the daily work that is done with people with disabilities, but also has an aim to give visibility to our social action in Europe, more taking into account that our pedagogical method of working with the users come mainly from Germany and Austria. In principle, Germany was the country that sent us the youngest, but for the past few years we have received volunteers from Nordic countries, Eastern Europe, the south and the center (Germany, France, Portugal, Lithuania, Latvia, Denmark ...).The objective of the participants in the project is to support the work carried out by the professionals of the organization in its activity of providing well-being and training to people with intellectual disabilities. This is done through the services provided by the entity. The Occupational Center and Community Housing. At the Occupational Center, 40 people with intellectual disabilities come every day from Monday to Friday. In the Community Housing are 19 users who attend. That is why we always ask the EU for the participation of 4 Erasmus + volunteers, two for the Occupational Center and one for each of the Community HousingThe profile of the participants is the one proposed in the application forms, dynamic young people, willing to develop an important social action, with capacity to adapt to the circumstances that daily ""confronts"" us with working with people with intellectual disabilities. It has never been vetoed by religious, political or similar conditions. On the contrary, the project has welcomed volunteers of different religions and beliefs. The only condition is respect for persons with disabilities and their particular circumstances. The activities developed by the volunteers are basically to support the professionals in each of the services and in each of the activities that take place in them. Thus, in the Occupational Center participate in each of the occupational workshops (Candles, Textile and Binding) and in each of the therapeutic or leisure activities that are developed (Painting, Dance, Stimulation of movement, theater and day room) . With regard to housing, they help professionals in activities and tasks, and participate actively in leisure activities with users (trips, excursions ...).They are also offered the opportunity to participate in a training that, given by the professionals of the organization, is developed from January to June in which they deal with various topics related to intellectual disability and associated behavioral problems. In this year, except for one volunteer, the rest showed interest and went to the training exposed. The results of the project are satisfactory for the organization, the volunteers have fulfilled their tasks in a correct way and they have given that fresh air that every year brings us Erasmus + with its new young people. We also see a greater involvement each year in its activities and tasks, which we believe is a result of increased awareness of the social diversity of the EU and of the support that many of its citizens need." Volunteering was for a period of 12 months and was open to all countries programs and partner countries. It took place in semi-rural area 70km from Paris.VirVolt wants an open place, allowing various people staying there to get to know and to live together beyond language barriers, sociocultural and socioeconomic, and especially beyond prejudice. Through the values of solidarity, justice, respect for others and peace, VirVolt encourages the participation of all local life and actions in favor of an active and responsible citizenship. This home project promoted the development of activities rooted in the local, facing the local population and the intercultural dimension in an urban city with a relatively few youth mobilized to start. Volunteers had been able to invest their time and energy in projects Vir'Volt association. These activities encouraged the involvement of young people in their communities and provided a better understanding of European diversity. The host project therefore promoted the development of activities rooted in the local, facing the local population and the intercultural dimension in an urban city with a relatively few youth mobilized to start. As part of their project, the volunteers also had the opportunity to participate in activities unique to the Youth Solidarity Movement, such as international volunteer projects, volunteer groupings, formations or the General Assembly. With their participation in the promotion of international volunteering initiatives, participants also were witnesses and promoters of mobility and international openness, giving young people the necessary information to interested parties to participate in a mobility project.. This approach allowed the local population to discover new European projects and boost the local territory. The partners for this project were Actio Catholica Patria, SFERA and VJF. The WHO has estimated that depression alone will constitute one of the greatest health problems worldwide by the year 2020. Of increasing concern is the growing rate of suicide among young males. Deep unhappiness, disordered mood, feelings of hopelessness and thoughts of suicide are common among young people. This lowered mood may be risk factor for long-term social problems and depression.Eolas Soileir and its partners took a positive approach to the promotion of emotional health among young people by carrying out two projects for youth workers and young people to address these needs by understanding and developing their skills at building resilience, empowerment & positive mental health both within themselves and the young people they work with.Using Non Formal methodologies we developed the creative competences, specifically in the topics of positive mental health, resilience & empowerment for youth, in 27 youth workers from Ireland, Greece, Slovenia, Spain, Kosova, Romania, Belarus, Poland, Armenia & Estonia, in an 8 day training course held from 4th to 11th of August 2017 in Wexford Ireland. Further we ran a Youth Exchange in the topics of positive mental health, resilience & empowerment for 20 young people aged between 18 & 30 from Romania, Spain, Lithuania, Estonia and Ireland from the 17th to 22nd of August 2017 in Wexford Ireland & 6 youth workers. The emphasis was on various ways young people might cope with stressful or difficult life events and challenges and we focused on personal coping skills & creative skills for expression and self reflection. The objectives and results of the projects were: 1. The participants on the TC came away with concrete methods and ideas that helped develop their own sense of empowerment, resilience & positive mental health and are now more competent in putting into action ideas and methods to increase positive mental health in the young people they work with.2. The young people on the YE came away with concrete methods and ideas to help develop their own sense of empowerment, resilience & positive mental health and incorporate these into their lives.3. The pax on the TC and the young people on the YE explored the potentials of creative methodologies as a way for self-discovery, stress reduction, creativity, empowerment, resilience and positive mental health.4. The participants on the TC and the young people on the YE were part of an intercultural learning experience.5. The pax on the TC facilitated their exchange of experience regarding their work with their own young people.6. The young people on the YE are better able to understand both themselves and other young people thereby feeling less isolated, better able to understand positive mental health and understand what they can do to encourage it within themselves and others.7. The pax on the TC were encouraged to develop European co-operation in the youth field. These objectives were fulfilled in relation to the objectives of Erasmus + youth mobility:• We supported the acquisition of skills of youth workers & young people on their personal & professional development and improving their employability. • We helped improve the language skills & intercultural learning of the participants. • This project also addressed E+ youth Inclusion and Diversity strategy as the TC & YE sought to combat poor mental health particularly in disadvantaged young people and those facing social, economic and educational difficulties. • We promoted the international cooperation & intercultural dialogue between partner and programme countries. • We also built up key competences and skills of young people including young people with fewer opportunities through the acquisition of skills by the youth workers and directly with the young people in the youth exchange. • Through youthpass we ensured better recognition of competences gained through their learning periods abroad, • Promoted active participation in civil society and develop a sense of European citizenship • Youth workers increased their professional development in the field with a view to innovating and improving the quality of Youth work across Europe & in their country. • They increased their motivation and satisfaction in daily work through the strengthening of their mental health. The methods used were: mindfulness and creativity, theatre, art & creativity, nature & outdoors, music, conversation, all took place in a context of improving resilience, positive mental health and empowerment. Long term benefits are an environment where people can be more open, understanding and positive in their attitudes and behavior towards mental health and an increased knowledge of how to achieve this. We gave a push to these young people to become independent and active citizens. We wanted them to use their potential which can bring its energy, power and inspiration to the shores of European society. The objectives of Wider Horizon were: 1. Increase the EVS mobilities of YPFO who never participated in any kind of European projects; 2. Create a safe and healthy environment where 30 YPFO can develop a structured daily routine; 3. Develop the employability and working skills of 30 YFPO by volunteering in the local community; 4. Develop a sense of European citizenship through living in an international community; 5. Get acquainted with the Dutch culture and its values through volunteering in local organisations 6. Promote Erasmus+ and youth volunteering. Wider Horizon involved in total 30 participants coming from 14 different countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Macedonia. Wider Horizon consisted of a two groups doing a short-term EVS period, one group of 15 persons between 28/02/2018 - 27/04/2018 and one group of 15 persons between 02/05/2018 - 29/06/2018.During their EVS placement the participants did voluntary work at local and regional organisations in and around Ommen such as farms, pet shelters, camping sites, second-hand shops. Every Wednesday we had mentor meetings with the entire group and individually. Also workshops were organised on the Wednesdays to support their learning process. We used experimental learning, informal learning, intercultural learning and media as tool. The main results out of Wider Horizon are: • Increased inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities by creating a total of 30 mobilities; • The volunteers developed their social skills and their sense of European citizenship by living in an international community; • Increased the employability of the volunteers by working 4 days/week with local organisations; • Increased their capacity for being autonomous through a daily routine and managing their budget on a weekly basis; • Developed or increased daily life skills: cooking, shopping, going to work on their own, dressing according to the weather; • Organized, at least, 1 event for promoting EVS and volunteering by the participants in their countries; • Create 1 info pack about Erasmus+ especially designed for the target group; • Strengthened the network of youth organisations working with this target group; • Increased the visibility of the work done with the target group at local, national and European level. The long-term benefits of Wider Horizon are: • A swift on the accessibility of young people with fewer opportunities into “normal” opportunities, leading to empowerment and proactivity and more participation in society; • More inclusive projects in Erasmus+; • Growth and strengthening of youth organisations working in this field and expanding their network; • Reduced discrimination in all its forms, leading to a more cohesive European society • Bringing EVS and Erasmus+ closer to the core values of inclusion and equity that European Union and its society stand for.
